Tom yum, combo Fried Rice, papaya salad, vegetables with beef
    Crystal H.

We walked in Sunday around 6:30pm. It wasn't busy at all. Only 1 person at a table. We ordered Tom yum, combo Fried Rice, papaya salad, vegetables with beef. Everything was good. Just wished the papaya salad had options with the raw marinated crab or something. The tom yum soup wasn't sweet, but was quite sour. We were glad it wasn't sweet though. Service was fast. Parking lot in the back shard with other businesses.

The food was pretty good. They only have 1 staff and he was really attentive. The place is simple and decent.

Very much hole in the wall but I loved it!! I got the drunken noodles and the pad kee mao at various spice levels like 7 and 10. Yum! The flavors were on point and the spice was hot. And all vegetarian friendly!! I also tried the tofu summer rolls with the peanut sauce. That was the best thing ever. I asked them for some extra peanut sauce and god damn it was so good. The staff was great and the service was great. I would love to come here again if I'm ever in the Napa area.

Napa has an amazing collection of restaurants downtown, but we wanted something more local and less touristy. We came across this small Thai restaurant, and I thought the food was good. I was craving pumpkin, so this definitely hit the spot. The ambiance is simple--nothing fancy--but the food came out quickly and was tasty.

My sister wanted Rad Nar, which was not on the menu, but the waitress explained to us that basically it's the same thing as duo garlic with green bean chicken with fabulous flavoring. She did not want rice and so she ordered rice noodles instead she thought it was delicious. Best sauce ever. Restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the staff are all superb. Highly recommend.

Anyway, the restaurant looked like a hole in the wall and more often than not, I've had some of the best food at those kinds of places so decided to give it a try. However, that was not the case with Thai Kitchen. I was extremely disappointed with what I ordered - the papaya salad, a mixed vegetable dish with chicken and the spicy drunken noodle dish. The papaya salad had the standard fish sauce and sweet flavor, but what was egregious was that there was only 2 pieces of shrimp for the entire dish that cost $14.50. I've paid less for the same dish at other establishments and definitely had more shrimp. The chicken dish with veggies, which I asked to have made spicy, was flavorless and the chicken was dry. The noodle dish wasn't as described on the menu - didn't have any black bean sauce flavor nor basil and the noodles were overly cooked. I always want to support smaller businesses but can't with this one as it was really disappointing. One thing I do want to acknowledge is that the staff/owners were really nice. I hope they take this feedback and refine their food offerings because there is a lack of good Thai food in that area.

From 5-7 PM they have Happy Hour where I enjoyed my lychee martini. The maki rolls came with 6 rolls, with the sushi being 1 pc each. The spicy tuna roll was very affordable with fresh high quality fish. I like how the sushi was fairly simple, which amplified the deep flavor of the fish. I also ordered one fatty tuna sashimi, which was melt in your mouth! Miso soup, which had homemade tofu is rich, but the tofu was average. Gyoza was average, more on the dryer side. The salmon taretare was very good, coming with different sauces. I tasted a bit of my coworker's unagi bowl, which came with seaweed to create a roll. I thought the unagi was grilled well, but the marinade on top was too sweet. The sweetness of the sauce overpowered the natural flavor of the eel. A highlight was their dessert lime sago. It was not too sweet and came with ice cream. There were pop rocks sprinkled in that gave a unique texture.

My friends and I did the omakase, thinking that since the name is Morimoto that the quality would be good. It wasn't. Every dish was oily. The fish was warm. There was too much sauce. The halibut was so dry. The wagyu was also dry despite being red inside. The sauce with the wagyu dish tasted sour, like.. something was expired sour. Not good. The dessert had no flavor. The only thing that tasted good was the palette cleanser with the nigiri. This is way overpriced for the quality of food we received. I would never come back here again, nor would recommend this place to anyone. If this was based on the food alone, it would've been 1 star. The staff gave it 2 stars. Also, the lights were pretty dim so it made us sleepy.

The place serves authentic Thai dishes and it is best to share family style if you come with several people so that you can experience more dishes. Started with a Sake "Mohito". It was very good. Mild flavor and not crazy strong. I nursed it throughout my entire meal. The Fresh Spring Rolls were as the name advertised. Vegetarian with tofu inside. Interesting thing is that it was served with two sauces, but the traditional peanut sauce but also a Thai Sweet Chili sauce. I decided to combine both sauces onto my Spring Rolls. Surprisingly, the two sauces complemented each other pretty well. The Yellow Curry was smooth and thick (not watery like some places). Rich is flavor. I can probably just eat some plain rice with just the curry sauce and I would be happy. It's that good. The Crispy Chicken with Ginger Rice was a crowd favorite as well. The chicken itself was solid but pretty standard. The ginger rice added a unique flavor to the dish. I've never had ginger rice at a restaurant before. We also had a stir fry dish that was composed of asparagus and a protein of your choice. We chose chicken. It was also solid but not as unique as the other two entrees we had. Still same cute modern interior. It was VERY busy on a Saturday evening so service may be a bit slower. But the food was great and staff was very friendly.

We were greeted by a gentleman with a fun sense of humor - can't really explain it, but he made us smile. The place is small, but very welcoming. We were shown to a window booth, where we chatted a bit before we looked at the menu. The server came to take our order and we had barely even looked. She told us to take all the time we needed. Eventually, we made our decisions. My friend got one of the lunch combos - a chicken curry (she chose red curry, you can also choose green or yellow), and I don't remember what the other combo item was. But everything looked delightful on her plate! On our way into the restaurant, I spotted a sign with a lunch special on it - crispy chicken kao soi, a noodle dish, and it looked good, so that's what I requested. It was quite yummy! The best part was the deeply flavored sauce that the noodles were nestled into - I could put it in a cup and drink it, it was soooo good, lots of savory fish sauce and just enough spice to keep it interesting. Besides the noodles actually in the sauce, there were crispy fried noodles on top as well, adding a nice texture variety. The picture doesn't really do it justice. I was hungry and dove in before I remembered to take the photo, oops. The chicken was breaded and laid on top of the noodles in thin slices, very nice and crunchy. We had Thai hot tea with our lunch - not the sweet kind, but the nice clean-flavored hot tea. It went perfectly with our dishes. I don't know exactly when either of us will get back to Benicia again, but if and when we do, I hope we can stop by Pearl Thai again!
