Only got soft serve, but it was excellent soft serve! At $6 each, the serving is quite generous and the ice cream is smooth and delicious. They have a vanilla base with different seasonal toppings, and the saffron orange honey one was our favorite. Would come back and try their food - everything sounded great
4.5 STARS Aside from your basic burger and sandwich, $20 doesn't get you very far in bougie Napa. Ok, maybe half a bump of caviar. While a meal at Moro will set you back about $25 pp with no drink, it's a good deal considering it's from Mourad Lahlou, a Michelin-starred chef and James Beard Semi-finalist. Opening in Spring 2024, Moro is a Moroccan fast-casual eatery inspired by Marrakesh's iconic night market, serving grilled meats, salads, flatbread, and housemade dips. F O O D * Roasted Lamb Shoulder Salad ($21) Not your basic beezie salad, it was flavorful with a nice texture contrast from the soft lamb shoulder and crisp romaine, radish, red onions and cucumber. Sweet dates add that Moroccan touch and mint yogurt sauce for a fresh tang. The lamb shoulder was quite stringy tho. * Beef Short Ribs Cous Cous ($21) Inspired by Mourad's and Aziza's signature dishes, the braised short ribs were meltingly tender, served over a bed of fluffy cous cous. The raisins, chickpeas, and almonds gave a pleasant savory sweetness and crunch. * Eggplant Zalook w/ flatbread ($8) Savory, creamy eggplant dip with a kiss of smoky flavor from the grill. Served with housemade semi-thick and chewy pita. * Moro Fries ($7) Freshly fried, crunchy exterior with soft interior. Dusted with warming spices and served with an aioli. S E R V I C E Friendly and prompt on a weekday at opening time. We were given a buzzer. Overall, if you're looking for a chef-y meal in Napa without making your wallet cry, give Moro a try!
Being a fan of Chef Mourad's food, I was excited when I found out earlier this year that he opened up a casual street food type spot in the Oxbow. We got lamb over couscous and a schwarma wrap. It was good but not great as the portion of meat in both was lacking as there were portions of the wrap where there was none. For the price point, I would have liked some consistency throughout and not leave still hungry.
Located inside Napa's Oxbow Market Food Hall ! A Moroccan cuisine that gotta try! Ordered a salad which had freshly cut mixed greens that was topped with grilled chicken ,cucumber, avocado, red onion, and radish, drizzled with a flavorful tangy dressing.
Located in Napa's Oxbow Public Market, Moro is Chef Mourad Lahlou's fast-casual Moroccan-inspired eatery. To start, we had the Roasted Eggplant Dip, a smooth eggplant puree topped with pine nuts, urfa, and olive oil, served with flatbread for dipping. Though the dip sounded good, it was extremely salty and certainly not worth ordering. Each of the entrees here was served on a salad, on couscous, or in a flatbread. The salad was made of romaine, kale, radish, tomatoes, olives, onions, and dukkah, a spice and nut mixture that added a nice crunch. The couscous was little pearls of semolina flour pasta, mixed with raisins, chickpeas, and almonds, topped with harissa and garlic touma sauce; and the flatbread was a soft white bread topped with pickled onions and harissa/touma sauce. I tried several mains including the grilled shrimp basted with red chermoula sauce; but my favorites were the crispy shredded roasted lamb shoulder with cumin, preserved lemon, and mint yogurt sauce; and the sweet and spicy roasted cauliflower florets, marinated in harissa and ginger garlic yogurt. Both the lamb and cauliflower were flavorful and delicious with nice textural contrast, and overall, this was a great stop for fresh and bold Moroccan eats!
On Sunday, my friend and I decided to check out Napa's Oxbow Public Market; It kind of reminds me of Emeryville. It was cute and pretty small.. We decided to try out Moroccan food, similar to Mediterranean. I had the lamb wrap which was a bit salty. My friend had the beef which was ok. The Cajun fries were nicely seasoned and crunchy. The server recommended the Piquillo Pepper dip with the flatbread which was really delicious with a hint of sweetness and almond for texture. I would definitely come back again and try their different dips.
I love the healthy options here. I ordered the cauliflower salad which was actually quite filling. The sauce on the cauliflower was delicious and they were also huge. I liked the paired salad - I wish there were a little more tomato and olives. Also ordered the mint tea which was nice and refreshing!
This place is in the oxbow market. The food was excellent. It was very fresh and had spices that were out of the ordinary. The fries were very meaty and delicious. The place only had two workers so it was a little slow but the food made up for the wait.
Had the beef in a wrap. described as slow cooked beef short ribs. i found the beef to be perfect tender and not mushy the way slow cooked meat is. The sauce was the star of the show - sweet- savory , fresh! super quick service . got food about 7 minutes after ordering while on lunch! hidden gem for sure
This is a part of the Oxbow market place. The lamb dish that I had over couscous was excellent. The lamb was cooked in cumin, and preserved lemon with mint yogurt sauce. The couscous has harissa, raisins, chickpeas, almonds and pea shoots. The service is fast and a great place to hang out and people watch.
There are many tempting options at Oxbow Public Market, but I couldn't resist the aromas wafting from the grill at Moro. Everything on the menu looked and smelled delicious, and I ultimately decided to order the grilled cauliflower over couscous. My friend brilliantly suggested splitting the fries, which come with two dipping sauces. We circled the market's seating area, ready to swoop as soon as a table opened up. Fortunately, the timing worked out perfectly, and we found a few seats at the same time our food was ready. The sauce on the cauliflower was stronger than I was anticipating - the sweetness overpowered the other flavors on the plate. On a positive note, the couscous was fluffy, and all of the ingredients tasted high quality and fresh. The fries were the true standout for me. While the fries were thick-cut, each fry was perfectly crispy and coated with a generous amount of seasoning. The dipping sauces were creamy with a hint of spice and complemented the fries perfectly. I'd definitely make a return visit for the fries, and next time, I will probably try the shrimp instead.
A+ meal. I was looking for a quick, tasty, and relatively "healthy" meal. A meat with a grain and some herbs will always do the trick for that. It's nice to take a break from all the heavy and rich options with the constant sit down meals while on vacation. I went with the lamb shoulder over a bed of couscous. I realize couscous isn't a grain, more akin to a pasta but hey, it got decently close. It had harissa, golden raisins, chicken peas, almonds and pea shoots. I was so happy to have some beans and meat. It was such a wonderful complement to the lamb. The lamb was so tender, very flavorful and the yogurt sauce tied everything together perfectly. If I could eat this every day, I would. From ordering to getting my food it probably took about 10 minutes. The wait is no issue since you can explore oxbow market with the buzzer. Overall, don't expect much from the ambiance, you're in the middle of the indoor market. So pull up a chair, get some food and maybe wash it down with a ritual coffee or beer. If I'm ever back at oxbow, I'll surely get Moro again.
Loved the salad we ordered! Yummy meat and dressing. Place was organized and service was fast. Just wish the serving was bigger.
We stopped by Napa's Oxbow Public Market for an easy late lunch. We were starving and got a beef kefta flatbread and lamb shoulder over couscous. I loved the grilled lamb shoulder which was tender with a good char and served over the couscous mix with raisins, chickpeas, and almonds it was a great bite! The preserved lemon and mint yogurt were great flavor additions. The beef kefta was good as well and nicely wrapped in the flatbread for an easy handheld bite but didn't have as much flavor as the lamb. We also got a mint tea to drink which was a nice sweet tea but didn't have the herbiness of the mint tea we had in Morocco which was a bit disappointing. Overall great quick meal with a ton of flavor. I wish Moro would open up in SF but we'll have to catch it again the next time we're in Napa! read more

Ordered beef, give chicken instead of beef, but they easily changed it to beef salad. They prepare the food quickly; however there were 2 employees, which made the wait to order a bit slow, as they were handling orders and taking orders. Beef with salad kinda tasted weird/bad. Unfortunate. However, their shrimp in a falafel was very good. It comes with some greens, 5 shrimps, and some sauce. A solid option for a quick grab-and-go lunch within the food court. read more
Stepping into the bustling Oxbow Public Market in Napa, friends and I noticed a new Moroccan spot that had popped up. The menu allows for an order of protein or main veggie (lamb, chicken, cauliflower, etc.) and a supplement of carb or veggie (pita, couscous, or salad). After ordering the shawarma chicken pita wrap ($18), I initially got the order within 15 minutes. However, the person behind the counter came to tell us they gave us someone else's order, so we had to wait another 10 minutes. After receiving the wrap, I discovered was smaller than expected. It was a tasty and savory wrap with a small kick of spiciness, but portions were too small. Taste was 4 stars and value was 3 stars. I was still hungry. Desperate for more food, I sampled the harissa chocolate chip cookie. At $5, it was a great value and size. Nice melty flakes of chocolate with tiny punch of spice, and a salty finish. I would try Moro again, but with couscous or salad as a supplement, and with lower expectations of value. read more

Food here is delicious. I had the beef short rib Ras harbour and was impressed by the taste and cook on the beef. You have the option of making it a salad or served over couscous. Made me want to look up a recipe to try making this at home. Maine run between 16-18 dollars and sides are between 5-8 dollars. Also had the corn bread which was also fantastic. There are a lot of great options in the oxbow market but this should be in the top of your list if you are visiting. read more

Menu is simple and straightforward. Ordered lamb which was wrapped in bread; meat was flavorful and micro-greens was a nice touch but could have used more greens. I had to ask for mint yogurt sauce to give it the extra lacking flavor. Chicken salad was packed with flavors and nice mix of grains, including beans & pickled radish. Staff was helpful and gave us what we asked after we placed our order. Took maybe 10min for our food to be ready. We took our food to the common oxbow public market seating. It was past 730pm so we found a table but usually that dining hall is packed . So be prepared to take your food outside. read more

Y'all I've been dreaming about the cauliflower wrap I had here last month literally since I ate it. Hands down the best thing I ate while in California this spring. Let me set the stage: I was walking through Oxbow looking for a healthier bite to eat for lunch. We'd been travelling and eating some really unhealthy food for the last two days so I was ready for some veggies. I happened upon Moro and the cauliflower just sounded so good. If you can flavor roasted cauliflower correctly, it can really shine, so I honestly had pretty high hopes. I wasn't sure what to expect at Moro since you have to select what you want it served on, the options if my memory is correct, were something like flat bread, rice, or salad. I chose the bread because I was imagining dipping it in this rich spicy sauce. When my order came up, I was surprised to find it all wrapped up, which in retrospect makes sense since it is on pita bread, but I wasn't sure what to expect. I was hungry though, so took a bite, and holy smokes was I blown away. Not only was the cauliflower perfectly roasted, but the sauce was incredible. Usually I want to add hot sauce to a wrap like this, but this one didn't need it. The spice level was on point, and it wasn't too dry, which I also think happens a lot when you order something like this. Honestly no notes. I wish I had one of these in Kansas City so that I could eat it again. If you're here and you like cauliflower go snag one, you won't regret it! read more
If you like flavor this is the place! I ordered lamb salad. All the colors, texture and flavor in it! Wow And the amount of meat ! This is not a basic salad. They sure delivered! Service is friendly and quick! Ambience is the same for all the places at oxbow market. Their bread looked delicious if I wasn't GF definitely would have ordered that with hummus as well Thank you Moro read more

5 stars!! This spot is ! The chef and entire staff were incredibly nice and very helpful helping us decide what to eat. We got the Lamb over Couscous and the Shrimp flatbread and both were phenomenal. The restaurant is part of the Oxbow Public Market in downtown Napa. The Oxbow is super cute with open table style communal seating areas. Moro has really interesting flavors and is unique and tasty. I will definitely be back! read more

Brilliant addition to Oxbow. I hope they bring this to Ferry Building or delivery in peninsula. It's such a great concept and execution Yogurt labneh with flatbread (5/5) - flatbread as good as at Mourad and amazing dip Candied pecans (5/5) - delicious and addictive Out of the meats, I thought the lamb and beef were standouts. Shrimp was flavorful. Chicken was least favorite. Putting protein in flatbread made it more like a burrito but lighter. Couscous was amazing! Salad was light. This was the culinary highlight of my recent trip to Napa read more
Great to see Mourad Lahlou (owner of the famed Mourad restaurant in San Francisco) open up a more casual Napa Valley outpost. The menu presents plenty of options. You have a choice of protein and can decide whether you want a flatbread, salad, or couscous with it. I tried the shrimp. The salad was interesting, and I appreciated the different types of vegetables and herbs in it. For example, it came with olives, pickled onions, fresh dill, and lots of other fun surprised which you wouldn't expect to find. The salad was great, but my only complaint is that it was absolutely drowned in dressing. It was also very thick, and somehow felt heavy despite being a salad. Lesson learned - order the dressing on the side. The cornbread was a great side though. That was just about perfect, served warm with a side of harissa butter. read more

Quick Summary: Great, flavorful food, slightly small portions, lots of seating available We ordered the chicken with couscous and the chicken with flatbread. Both options were great with slightly different additions. The flatbread is nice and soft and the chicken is served with pea sprouts, pickled onions, harissa, and touma. The couscous option is served with slivered almonds, raisins, harissa, and pea sprouts. The chicken was very moist, tender, and flavorful. Located inside of Oxbow Public Market, there are plenty of other food vendors and lots of public seating for you to eat at. read more
