In town for the weekend for the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon. I traveled via Amtrak starting at 1:45pm, got in just before 1pm... had a few calls and then direly needed food. Trying to be mindful of what I eat since I'm running on Sunday (but then again I'll probably wine test, yolo, do people still say that?!?) Anyway I was looking for options in downtown Napa and this place looked really good and the reviews were solid. It definitely hit the spot. The salad was super fresh and crispy, the chicken moist and flavorful (not to mention they give you a lot), the dressing was perfect (not to heavy, I hate when people drench my lettuce leaves), and the pita was so fluffy, soft, and warm! All in all an excellent choice and delicious meal, highly recommend!
This place was good!!! You go in and place your order near the door. You get your drink and you pay after. It allows you to order more food. Well that what we did. The workers, I am guessing it is a family owned spot, are nice and knowledgeable. There was a great selection of drinks. I mistakenly got a Greek salad and forgot to get the lamb on it. They brought me a side. My husband got the gyro with lamb. The pits bread is soft and warm. Very delicious. The Kalamata olives in my salad were soooo good. The entire experience was great. We got some people watching in from the window. A time was had. Not to mentioned the family pics on the wall, included one that looked exactly like my brother.
Wow! This restaurant may not "fit in" among the flashy, posh, or bougie restaurants in Napa, but what they do incredibly well is serve flavorful, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine that just hits the spot! As vegan athletes, we also appreciate their vegan and vegetarian options, which is surprisingly hard to find in Napa! It's very casual, has lots of interesting and quirky decor and knick-knacks, and the food is oh so delicious! Here's what my hubby and I ordered: *Falafel Platter *Grilled Mushroom Pita Both so tasty and made with super fresh ingredients! Great dinner and friendly service here before heading out to the Napa Lighted Art Festival a few weeks ago! We'll definitely be back!
True to their name, Small World Restaurant is a cute little casual eatery. Service is kind and welcoming, but can slow when they get super busy during peak meal hours. Seems to be quite the local favorite and a good amount of parking nearby. Generally very positive thoughts on the food quality, though much less on the spicy heat and more on the veggies in the platters. Pita and platters have the same fresh veggies and composition with hot sauce and ranch. Not quite heavily spiced as other meditteranean spots but very tasty. On the plus, their pita is very fresh and remarkably chewy. Greek fries were fantastic, just enough feta cheese with drizzle of olive oil and touch of salt on top of super crispy fries. Aromatic and crispy without being too greasy. Fried goodies are top notch, falafel was tasty and moist on the interior, chicken schnitzel had solid batter to it.
Came here with friends and unfortunately we were running super late for a wine tasting appt so we had to rush. The waiter was so kind to accommodate our rush and the kitchen staff as well. We felt really bad about quite literally dining and dashing (since we were only there for under 20 mins - NOT meaning we didn't pay), and I was signing the check while scarfing down the food! LOL The place is a bit small but does have maybe 6 or so tables inside and the decor is charming with world flags all around. Anyways I ordered the falafel pita and it was damn good! Highly recommend this place, esp for vegetarians!
Small world has been a staple my entire life! The hummus platter and fried zucchini are my go to but everything is seriously amazing! Staff is always friendly and the quality never slips!
I recently stopped in during a work trip to Napa on the suggestion of a friend who used to live in town. While it's right downtown, it's easy to miss being on a side street, but it is DEFINITELY worth a stop! When you enter the restaurant you'll be greeted with the swirling smell of spices while the kitchen staff chat away in their native language--always a good sign that you're getting something truly authentic! I opted for the falafel and fries. Y'all, I'd FORGOTTEN how AMAZING Falafel can be! Apparently I've gotten too used to frozen, fried, hard balls of spice and was thrilled at the tender, crisp falafel I was served here. Bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, I was so happy and nearly licked my plate clean. You truly feel the love in the food here. I will absolutely make this a stop in the future!
It's located in downtown Napa. It's a gem. I had lamb beef Shawarma with fresh veggies. It was a good quantity. Sandwich was very very good visit this place when you visit Napa.
Currently sporting an overall yelp rating of 4.4 stars out of 5, perhaps I expected too much from Small World Restaurant. I knew the place was a casual cafe but not until inside did I realize it was one where you order off a wall-mounted menu and pay at the register. This is not a ding, just indicative of a much more casual place than I'd expected. Beer, wine, Greek Fries (about $9) and a Falafel Platter (about $18) were shared between my party of 2. All tasty enough, but the Falafel Platter (served with two pitas halves) is comprised of 5 falafel, hummus, a dollop of Baba Gunnooch (sic), and an overwhelming volume of raw vegetables that I barely knew what to do with. Looking around, I noticed the same heap of raw vegetables inside each pita order as well. For me, the volume would've proved as excessive on the pita as it was on the platter. As someone who is generally adoring of Mediterranean fare I was surprised that I didn't harbor more affection towards Small World's offerings. It's always laudable that Napa's downtown continues to have a handful of places that aren't so upscale as to be exclusionary but I'd probably try somewhere else on a return visit to the area. I simply wanted more of the goodies and less of the greens.
Just had the lamb Gyro. Was debating between that and the beef and lamb shawarma. Will get shawarma next time as gyro was outstanding. Guys here were great and gyro was tasty. Will be back! Too add.. 6 beers on tap adds to the place!!!

The service was great and there was a friendly family vibe. The only thing I wished was a more hearty portion of fries for the price point. The pic is exactly what was served.

The chicken empanadas are absolutely delicious! The crust is cooked perfectly--crispy and crunchy enough to hold up beautifully, while the filling is packed with flavor. They're definitely my go-to item whenever they're available, they've sold out before. Everything else I've tried here has been delicious as well. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is consistently clean. They even have a cute candy bar near the register if you're craving something sweet after your meal. Definitely worth a visit! read more

You can tell this is a local favorite. All the food was fresh and hot. The sauces were flavorful and the red vinegar one was my personal favorite. The service was great and there was a friendly family vibe. The only thing I wished was a more hearty portion of fries for the price point. The pic is exactly what was served. read more

We came on a busy weekend for lunch. It's counter service so you stand in line and then get your table. It was very crowded and not a lot of seating because it was rainy outside, but we were able to get a table for 4 after a short wait. The food came out in a timely manner and it was GOOD. I got a chicken schnitzel pita and the chicken was so crispy and moist and the pita was nice and soft. We also got fries which were a great side. Would recommend this spot to anyone! read more

Oh wow oh wow!!! The best chicken pita ever!!! So delish and well balanced with perfect flavors. I can't even began to describe all of the things that are so right with this pita. I will eat here twice a week or more if I lived in area. Unfortunately I live out of state. It did take 38 minutes after placing the order (but it was peak time on a Saturday night) to get our food but it was well worth the wait!!!! Oh how I wish I had had this place in Colorado!!! This is a must visit while in the area. Super healthy and delicious. Would have given five stars, but the wait was kinda long, understandably it was a Saturday night. read more

First time in Napa. Searched for a quick bite to eat. We stumbled upon this quaint little place. Such friendly, smiling faces! We went up to the register to order and noticed all the freshly sliced vegetables. We ordered the Beef Gyro with all the fixings. Loved the message of Peace in the Holy land...something my heart wishes for, as well. The lovely lady told us they were from Nazareth, Palestine. So, about the gyro.. Wow!! It was the most delicious, most satisfying gyro I have ever had outside of Athens and Santorini, Greece! The pita was freshly made and the tzatziki was perfect. Guys, I'm am very familiar with Mediterranean food and have had them in the countries of their origin. This little amazing hole in the wall is exquisite and is the real deal! My husband went up to the register to pay our bill, the lady told him, "You have such a beautiful family" and gave him a handful of a complimentary variety of delicious nougat candies to share with all of us. What a way to make us feel special and such a kind gesture! If you are ever in the mood for the best gyro and Mediterranean food in town, visit this lively establishment. You will feel like you've died and went to food heaven! read more

First time to Small World, and we're so happy we checked it out. Giving it the 5 stars because it delivered on all fronts. The food items were fresh and flavorful, the service** was efficient & friendly, and the interior & outside dining areas were clean and well-laid out. Last but not least least, the prices are reasonable. **Note: You order first then they bring your food to your table. Anyway, food style is mediterranean, with quite a few items I would associate with Greek or Turkish, but regardless, we loved the gyro, shawarma salad, and the veggie baba ghanoush. Pita breads could not have been more fresh!! We will happily be coming back. read more

(Napa) was so spot on. We gobbled and chewed the most delicious Falafel Platter with Hummus, Veggies with the best Falafel Balls on the West Coast. The pita bread was warm and fresh. The Shawarma was very delectable and loved the tahini sauces. All washed down w. glasses Chardonnay and Local Brews. Sitting just outside was an enjoyable culinary experience.
