True to their name, Small World Restaurant is a cute little casual eatery. Service is kind and welcoming, but can slow when they get super busy during peak meal hours. Seems to be quite the local favorite and a good amount of parking nearby. Generally very positive thoughts on the food quality, though much less on the spicy heat and more on the veggies in the platters. Pita and platters have the same fresh veggies and composition with hot sauce and ranch. Not quite heavily spiced as other meditteranean spots but very tasty. On the plus, their pita is very fresh and remarkably chewy. Greek fries were fantastic, just enough feta cheese with drizzle of olive oil and touch of salt on top of super crispy fries. Aromatic and crispy without being too greasy. Fried goodies are top notch, falafel was tasty and moist on the interior, chicken schnitzel had solid batter to it. read more

This restaurant may not "fit in" among the flashy, posh, or bougie restaurants in Napa, but what they do incredibly well is serve flavorful, authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine that just hits the spot! This place was good!!! You go in and place your order near the door. You get your drink and you pay after. It allows you to order more food. Well that what we did. The workers, I am guessing it is a family owned spot, are nice and knowledgeable. There was a great selection of drinks. I mistakenly got a Greek salad and forgot to get the lamb on it. They brought me a side. My husband got the gyro with lamb. The pits bread is soft and warm. Very delicious. The Kalamata olives in my salad were soooo good. The entire experience was great. Had lunch here again and the food is still outstanding. They offer specials and often have vegetarian/vegan offerings. The one we tried was lions mane mushrooms. So good! Their hummus, falafel and dolmas are excellent. And they have great beers on tap as well as a good selection of NA beverages. Even though they were very busy service was quick and efficient and friendly. Great outdoor seating area with shade and sun if you want it. I'll be back again soon. read more

If you want great Mediterranean food. This is the spot I ordered the lamb and chicken salad. This is my first visit. My co-worker recommended this place. Because I was looking for a great salad and I have to say it was really delicious.I did order a combo salad. However, next time I'm definitely sticking to a lamb. I love lamb. The service was great. I was able to place my order on the phone. The ambiance is really cute. It's not too big of a space, but it's just enough. And then there's outside seating, which is always cool. I definitely recommend small world restaurant. There is definitely history. I recommend reading about it. I did read about it. However, I'm going to leave that to you. Currently sporting an overall yelp rating of 4.4 stars out of 5, perhaps I expected too much from Small World Restaurant. I knew the place was a casual cafe but not until inside did I realize it was one where you order off a wall-mounted menu and pay at the register. This is not a ding, just indicative of a much more casual place than I'd expected. Beer, wine, Greek Fries (about $9) and a Falafel Platter (about $18) were shared between my party of 2. All tasty enough, but the Falafel Platter (served with two pitas halves) is comprised of 5 falafel, hummus, a dollop of Baba Gunnooch (sic), and an overwhelming volume of raw vegetables that I barely knew what to do with. Looking around, I noticed the same heap of raw vegetables inside each pita order as well. For me, the volume would've proved as excessive on the pita as it was on the platter. As someone who is generally adoring of Mediterranean fare I was surprised that I didn't harbor more affection towards Small World's offerings. It's always laudable that Napa's downtown continues to have a handful of places that aren't so upscale as to be exclusionary but I'd probably try somewhere else on a return visit to the area. I simply wanted more of the goodies and less of the greens. read more

We came on a busy weekend for lunch. It's counter service so you stand in line and then get your table. It was very crowded and not a lot of seating because it was rainy outside, but we were able to get a table for 4 after a short wait. The food came out in a timely manner and it was GOOD. First time in Napa. Searched for a quick bite to eat. We stumbled upon this quaint little place. Such friendly, smiling faces! We went up to the register to order and noticed all the freshly sliced vegetables. We ordered the Beef Gyro with all the fixings. Loved the message of Peace in the Holy land...something my heart wishes for, as well. The lovely lady told us they were from Nazareth, Palestine. So, about the gyro.. Wow!! It was the most delicious, most satisfying gyro I have ever had outside of Athens and Santorini, Greece! The pita was freshly made and the tzatziki was perfect. Guys, I'm am very familiar with Mediterranean food and have had them in the countries of their origin. This little amazing hole in the wall is exquisite and is the real deal! As far as I remember, I got lamb shwarma, and my husband got beef gyro. Plus, we got a couple of pitas on the side. Loved it! Everything tasted amazing! Stopped in for lunch and we LOVED the food. We ordered the hummus platter with chicken schwarma with a side of eggplant. The picked veggies were perfect and they brought out a side of ranch to add to the salad portion. The flavor of the chicken was very good. They also have hot sauce that added a bit of kick.
