I've known about this spot for quite some time after I read an article from the SF Chronicle claiming they had the best chicken sandwich throughout the Bay Area. And just to turn it up a notch, the Chronicle also has them in the Top 25 Best Restaurants in Wine Country. I happened to be in Napa running some errands and decided to finally check them out. I met the owner who was pretty chill and friendly plus took my order. I was there for the chicken sandwich of course, but also wanted to try their Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I've seen on their menu. I also ordered some seasoned fries and a Mexican Sprite. The fries were nicely seasoned and crispy. The chicken had the perfect crisp to it and was juicy inside. The coleslaw inside gave the sandwich a nice tangy twist, while the hot honey had a nice balance of both sweet and spice. I did have a bit of a challenge attacking this since it was a huge sandwich, but I definitely liked it. The Cheesesteak was a bit messy (in a good way) but was a nice size for a full one; probably should have gotten a half one but oh well. The sliced steak was tender and juicy, while I also enjoyed the flavors of the cherry peppers and garlic mayo. Would definitely order this again. This was an experience I'm glad I finally had the opportunity to check out. Will go back hopefully soon to try some other items. read more

While in Napa looking for some take away food and found Joella's Deli (food truck). We ordered their Chicken Tenders (4 stars) and Buffalo Chicken Wrap (5 stars). The tenders were very tasty and crispy but maybe a bit overcooked? The exterior was hard to bite into but once you chomped on it the flavors and tenderness came through. The wrap was huge and full of chicken with a decent amount of spice kick. Lots of veggie and sauce to make each bite scrumptious. The lady quickly took our order and prepared our items. Since this was a Food Truck (actually a trailer) there was no real seating area but the weather was nice so all good. read more

Small truck located in an somewhat uncommon location. I pass by this truck quite frequently while working however never have the time to stop. I was craving a sandwich after work one day and decided to give them a try. The fried chicken sandwich was so juicy and flavorful, nestled between a homemade bun and topped with slaw and homemade pickles. I just found the best fried chicken I've ever had, the chicken bites are sooooo crispy yet refreshing (I know, it doesn't make sense, I don't know how they did it) it doesn't feel greasy at all. The buffalo chicken wrap is humongous that can probably feed an entire family (two adult and one young kid ). I've eaten at Joella's since they opened and I can say without a doubt that this is the BEST food in the Napa valley. They have incredible food that changes frequently since the owner is really into local farm to table style cooking. The service is top tier every single time. Perla and Ian are so warm and welcoming and always do the best job preparing food and frequently hook it up with extra goodies for loyal customers. They sometimes have a table outside too where you can hang out in the shade and enjoy the food with friends when it's hot and fresh. I didn't add a picture here, but I've also hired Joella's for catering. We had some strict dietary restrictions for a party, gluten free and vegan. Ian made an incredible ratatouille, arugula salad with candied pistachios, and a corn and tomato salad that my toddler ate 5 servings of! Soooooo.....it's been a while my fans but I am now alcohol free and ready to write some quality reviews. I've seen this trailer over by Storcks Garage a billion times and those who know the neighborhood probably know why I go down there and it ain't for gettin my car fixed. Strange thing, Killa B was just mentioning yesterday how she was jonesin' for some fried chicken and I said there is a trailer over there but I dont know if they are ever open. Well, today is Saturday and I drove by and voila! They were open. Thought I would treat Killa B to some form of fried fowl. Dang Im glad I did on two levels. So I walk up and I look at the fryers immediately and they are pristine, not only on the inside, but the outside so I know these folks mean business. They got a variety of cool stuff including fried pickles but im there for the stuff that flies around. I spot the chicken sandwich and let the gentleman at the front know. He let me know it would be about a 15 minute wait as they weren't open yet. I, unfortunately as stated before am dealing with coming down from being a drinker for 1000 years so my patience is'nt there yet. I told him I would be back and I could tell he know I was full of it. This is the first level. I look in my side view and guy is walking to my car. He says, "Hey I can have it done in like 6 mins if you want to come back". How could I deny a man like that. I went and ran an errand real quick and came back and ordered my chicken sandwich. He told me I was a man of my word (what Im getting at here is I want him to remember me and I want him to know how much I appreciated what he did for me) and I told him I would never lie to him. Only thing is the breading is a bit too thick for my liking, but that is a personal preference. Sauces elevated the crispy chicken.
