Smoked salmon bagel with capers, pickled onion. Cream cheese

Excellent breakfast. Their coffee is very good, nice and dark. I had the eggs Benedict with prosciutto and it was the best I've ever had. The potatoes that come with it are also very good. I would highly recommend dining here if you are staying at the resort or in the Napa area.

Olive & Hay, located inside The Meritage Resort and Spa, is a cute little spot for a casual brunch. We went on a Saturday and I ordered the burger and fries, adding an egg on top. The burger was nice and juicy, served on a soft brioche bun, and the shoestring fries were perfectly crispy. Simple, well-executed, and satisfying. Overall, it was a good meal in a relaxed setting. The restaurant itself is charming and fits well within the resort vibe--definitely a convenient and pleasant option if you're staying at or visiting the Meritage.

Located inside the Meritage Resort, this restaurant spot filled us up for breakfast! Avocado toast with an added and egg and salmon was yummy to share and their burger was hefty and cooked the way I liked it. Truffle fries could have been more truffly and the portions could have been a tad bit bigger but overall the service was good and the food tasted great. Having an establishment like this on the resort property is a plus! We came after a morning swim and they didn't mind that we were in our swim gear and pajamas in the morning.

This was the highlight of our stay in Napa and at the meritage resort. The food and service was outstanding. The restaurant is clean and very bright. We had brunch and all 3 items were fantastic, from the kids pancakes, salmon Benedict, and burger. Just solid spot to eat at if you are nearby.

Olive & Hay is part of the Meritage hotel resort. I really liked the decor in this restaurant. Very farm-to-table look. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming feel. Our waiter was friendly and explained a couple of the entrees to help us decide. We shared the caesar salad. We also ordered Calabria pizza and Strozzapreti Carbonara. Pizza was good with a kick of spicy. The pasta dish was also good but sauce was a bit heavy that I got full fast. For dessert we tried vanilla, salted caramel and espresso gelato. Delicious. I was glad that the food was good because I made reservations the next morning for breakfast. Breakfast was also very tasty and we also had a really nice waitress. We ordered the Sunnyside Up Ranch plate and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes.

I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. The food was great, but the service truly stood out. Carlos was our waiter and honestly made the whole night even better. We were a big group with a bunch of different dietary restrictions, he was incredibly attentive and detail-oriented. We shared a few appetizers, and I had the gluten-free Strozzapreti carbonara--so good. We finished our dinner by splitting a few ice cream desserts.

A great spot for breakfast at the Meritage Resort. The breakfast options were all very good--especially the eggs Benedict, which was delicious. I also loved the French toast topped with mascarpone and served with fresh berries. The smoked salmon bagel was equally tasty and well prepared. The servers were very attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. The only downside for me was that the music was a bit loud, but overall it's a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast.

We decided to try this restaurant for breakfast on our last day at the Meritage, and I'm so glad we made a reservation because it was busy. We chose to sit outside, and the beautiful green décor fit perfectly with the restaurant's name and vibe. We ordered the brioche pancakes and the mushroom omelette, both were a 10 out of 10. The mushroom omelette was especially delicious; the goat cheese paired so well with it. It came with crispy potatoes and a piquillo marmalade, a combination I never expected to enjoy, but it worked beautifully and tasted so good. The French toast was simple but perfect, well made and satisfying. We also ordered two mimosas, which were refreshing and not overly strong. Customer service was attentive and friendly. We finished everything on our plates. I'll definitely be back.

Tonight we visited Olive and Hay here at the Meritage. Full disclaimer: we confused our reservation and were late getting there. The manager/greeter did a fine job of fitting us in. KUDOS to her! On the meal, we were still full from our breakfast, then a snack, so we ordered a bit light, something that our server seemed not to appreciate. Even though he passed by several times during our visit, he hardly checked on us. There seemed to be long waits between courses, perhaps amplified by the noisy ambiance. We noted that the cocktail was the wrong drink, which she should have sent back but didn't. Upon reflection, I attribute this to his interest waning as soon as I ordered a salad as my main course. I went for the pear salad, and my wife had the linguini/cioppino and we shared an order of the crispy artichoke hearts. My wife, who hails from San Francisco and knows her seafood (Scomas being her benchmark) said that her dish was just OK, went on to say it was bland. She was surprised that she wasn't offered grated cheese (neither was I). She felt it could have been more flavorful. I don't recall that there were salt and pepper on the table. Mine was seriously short on pears for a "pear salad" that had literally 5-6 wafer thin slices of pear. The dressing and red cabbage were plentiful though, the blue cheese a nice contrast. Overall the ambiance was quite noisy throughout which increased when a large party were seated next to us. Perhaps the tile floors reflected the sound. Our expectation was of a nice, quiet week ending meal, but it was not to be. A letdown after dining at Embers Steak the previous night. Return visit, perhaps not.

Came here for our final dinner of our ladies getaway weekend... 7 of us in total. Pros - the food, from appetizers to entrees were tasty. I had the salmon and enjoyed my entree, a lot! The waiter, Carlos had a good sense of humor (to start, see cons below) he took our picture and then a selfie with us! We all thought he was pretty funny. We also had a nice table outside. The main dining room inside seemed a little noisy, so we all appreciated being outside. Cons - while Carlos had a good sense of humor, service overall was weird and frankly very disappointing. We were charged (initially) for 3, yes three things we did not order! Each time something was brought that we didn't order, we told whoever brought the item over that we did not order said item. Each time they said something along the lines of we were meant to have it and not to worry about it. The guy who brought the 7 Italian donuts said that Carlos must of wanted us to have them. We thought that was very nice, until we received the bill and found all three items listed! When we talked to Carlos about it, he didn't take the items off right away... he insinuated that since we ate the items, we should pay for the items.... In the end, he took two items off. It was a weird situation and it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. The group was 50/50 on the third item, which he did charge us for... it was for an ice cream dessert. We ordered the salted caramel based on the waitress who took our dessert order... she said it was a speciality. Turns out they were out of it, and instead of letting us know and letting us decide what we wanted to do, the restaurant elected to bring out all other flavors (3 in total) and charge us for one ice cream. That might have been ok, if they had talked to us before bringing it out. Additionally, the ice cream was quite melted by the time we ate it since as we asked for shared plates for our desserts and it took a while for them to come. Carlos may have had a meal break during our dinner because he was not around for most of our meal to check in on us, which we felt contributed to the mix ups and thus the not so great service experience. The food was quite tasty, but I highly doubt any of us would ever come back. Service overall was quite off putting.

    Chicken mushroom marsala
    Kali M.

Olive & Hay is one of the on-site restaurants at The Meritage Resort and Spa. My team ate here for breakfast each morning. They even managed to get us in and out for breakfast in 30 minutes one morning when we were short for time. I really enjoyed the breakfast menu. The O&H standard was my favorite with a little bit of everything. The bacon was phenomenal. The potatoes quite delicious with the house marmalade they put on them. My only complaint about breakfast is that I wish they had flavored cream for the coffee or offered coffee selections, but instead I just popped into Blend to get my iced lattes in the morning. We also ate here for dinner one night. I ordered the chicken mushroom marsala and was not expecting to have it served in a pot with half of a chicken! The service was OK for dinner. The rest of our table had drinks but somehow it took us a very long time for my colleague and I to get margaritas. They did taste fresh though.

    Bucatini

We were staying at the Meritage, and this is the only restaurant on the property. Since we had a reservation, we were seated quickly. We ordered the House Made Focaccia, Calabria pizza, Rigatoni, and the Bucatini. The House-Made Focaccia was very oily, and honestly, not very memorable. The Calabria Pizza came with calabrese sausage, mozzarella, calabrian chili honey, and parmesan. It had a sweet and savory flavor, but the crust was soft and floppy. The Rigatoni was made of braised lamb ragu, creamy tomato sauce, radicchio, and fiore sardo. While the lamb was tender, the portion was small, probably just 4 pieces in it. The Bucatini was made of black pepper, pecorino romano, and parmesan mousse, which was skippable. The flavor was overwhelmingly just black pepper flavor after all. We had the tiramisu served in a moka pot alongside a scoop of vanilla gelato. The gelato was great, but the tiramisu was overly soggy and fell short of expectations. Service was lacking, our waiter didn't check on us until we were finished with our meal.

As guests at the Meritage, we had Olive and Hay for dinner on Sunday. As we had reservations, we were able to get promptly seated. Most of the people around us were fellow hotel guests (read: several families with screaming young children). We went with the Calabria pizza, a Rigatoni, and the Bucatini. The Calabria was sweet and savory, however a little on the soft and floppy side. The Rigatoni was a hit as well, the lamb melted in your mouth. and the tomato sauce was great. I'd skip the bucatini - the only flavor was really just black pepper and not that great. I was also a little disappointed with the service. Our waiter Carlos disappeared for most of the meal and did not check on us or help to clear the small table until we were pretty much done eating. To add insult to injury, the still and sparking waters were $10 each, so we had a bit of sticker shock when we got the bill. Olive & Hay is an okay restaurant which is worth going for the convenience, but if it weren't part of the resort, I probably would not go again.

The stellar service made the evening unforgettable and super-special. The food was also outstanding. I had the pork cutlet with capers and butter -- absolutely delicious! The cutlet was thin with a wonderfully crispy exterior and soft, buttery interior. The sauce on top didn't overwhelm the meat. The portion was so huge I enjoyed leftovers for lunch the next day. Other members of our party got the seafood and meat pastas (universally praised for freshness and perfectly cooked pasta). The appetizers were standouts as well, including the lightly fried olives with anchovies (a real surprise since the anchovies were mellowed by the cooking process but kept their savory deliciousness). The chop salad was also a revelation. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. We will gladly return to Scala when we are back in Napa!

They printed a personalized menu that read "Happy Birthday Michelle," created a full multi-course tasting for us, and even paired each course with thoughtful mocktails, as I do not drink alcohol, including non-alcoholic bubbles with the first course. The pairings themselves were beautifully executed, with each one personally presented by the sommelier and bartender That attention to detail really stood out. The meal itself was excellent. The hamachi crudo was beautifully presented on a massive pink Himalayan salt slab and had incredible flavor with the Calabrian ponzu and caviar. We were seated by the window with a beautiful city view, which made the experience even nicer. We ate here several years ago and decided to dine at a familiar spot our first night in town. We arrived and our hostess and server Devany seated us. Devany was very sweet and attentive and always had a smile in her face. Even though there was a large party sat next to us, it was not too loud in the restaurant, even though a small venue and we were able to carry on a nice conversation. For the table, we ordered the Mixed lettuces with my Meyer lemon vinaigrette & parmigiana- reggiano cheese. Although very simple, this was very tasty and quite refreshing. We also ordered the Margarita Pizza. Thin crust with san marzano tomatoes, four de latte and basil. I'm torn on this one. It was good but already cold when served. I feel $30 is much too expensive for a small pizza such as this. The Crecenza polenta was delicious. Creamy and flavorful. This is a good option for a starter dish for the table. I ordered the Pappardelle- Braised beef, cremini mushrooms, garlic, onions, red wine. This was very good and a generous portion. Overall we had a nice dining experience and will return.

I still had to pick my kid up from school, so it just made sense to slide somewhere close by that never misses. Pulled up to Ristorante Pasta D'Oro -- this was my third visit -- and just like every other time, it delivered. Honestly, it might've been even better. We grabbed the regular spaghetti and split it between my two sons. Plenty of food, easily enough for two. I did ask about the spaghetti and meatballs since they usually run that as a special, but it wasn't available today. Still, the regular spaghetti held its own with no problem. I also picked up the mixed greens salad, and the vinaigrette is different in the best way. It's flavorful, balanced, and seriously one of the highlights. When I brought it home, my fiancée tried it and immediately said I should've asked for extra. I didn't realize it was going to be that good, but now I know. Pro tip: ask for extra dressing. We grabbed the penne pasta as well, which my fiancée said was great. And once my toddler finished his spaghetti, he went straight to helping her with the penne. That's how you know it's fire. On the side, I ordered the mozzarella sticks -- handmade, big, crispy, and cooked perfectly. I believe it came with about four to six, but they're large and filling. Everything was 10 out of 10. If I could give it a million out of a million, I would. Since I can't, it's a solid five out of five stars every time. Pasta D'Oro for the win.

We ordered the ribeye dinner, shrimp Alfredo, misto frito, and bread pudding (bread pudding was DISGUSTING because it's premade and microwaved). There's a few things that could be a lot better 1. Dining-in wait time was long even without no one dining in. 2. Our food came out very very cold 3. Mash potatoes lack creaminess and flavor. 4. We had to ask for the complementary bread and olive oil which was premade low quality. The ribeye was juicy had flavor the veggies was perfection in flavor the mash potatoes whew failed miserably almost tastes like box mash potatoes. Chef needs to get the mash potatoes recipe together asap. The portion size of the sides are very very small. Especially for the price you're paying for the ribeye dinner. The Alfredo was a chef kiss perfection ! Stay away from the BREAD PUDDING AT ALL COST!
