This is a Filipino-Chinese fast food chain known in the Philippines, also available internationally. I've been in this location so many times and ordered all the items in the menu but wasn't able to get pictures, only the recent to-go order I had which is siopao siomai and an iced thai tea. They have Mami, Soups, Siopao, Siomai, Dim Sum, Rice Bowls, Lauriat Rice Meals, Wontons, Taho, Halo halo, Thai tea and many more! Good customer service, wait times depend on the time and how many customers are ahead of you, dine in or to-go and delivery available, plenty of dining table and chairs, accepts cards and cash, plenty of parking in the plaza but do not leave valuables in the car. read more

I recently visited Chowking in Vallejo ordered the Lauriat. Overall, the meal was good and flavorful, and I usually enjoy their food. However, the drumstick chicken I received was undercooked and still had blood inside, which was really disappointing and concerning. Because of that experience, I lost my appetite and couldn't finish my meal. Food safety is really important, so I hope they improve on this. That said I still think some of their menu items are worth trying especially their halo-halo, which is always a favorite and perfectly balanced in sweetness. read more

My husband woke up craving tocino and longanisa for breakfast. Our old favorite spot, Uncle Sam's, has been gone for several years now, and 3 Star doesn't open until 11. So where do you go when the craving hits early? Enter Chowking. They open 7AM every day, which makes it fast, convenient, and perfect when you need something to curb that Filipino breakfast craving. Let's be real though -- it's not your lola's kitchen, maybe not even your mom or dad's cooking -- but it's familiar Filipino breakfast staples that get the job done. My husband ordered the tocino and longanisa combo. He didn't complain too much, though he did mention the longanisa could've used a bit more seasoning -- no brutal longanisa burps. The egg comes fried hard, so don't expect any yolky goodness here. The garlic rice had enough garlic to earn the name -- definitely not just plain steamed rice pretending to be something else. I ordered the bangus and received the head side. Nothing particularly standout about it, but I did appreciate that it was boneless. No digging through fish bones or worrying about choking on one -- and honestly, that alone was a win. Was it the best bangus I've had? Not even close. But it checked the box. I do wish there were options for egg preparation, but I understand -- it's fast food and they're built for speed and consistency. For the price and convenience, it's hard to complain. It's quick, familiar comfort food that satisfies the craving without breaking the bank. read more

The food was delicious, crispy crunchy chicken. The only problem I had was that they mixed up the orders. I told them about it and all they said was it was in the other meal. No apologies. They could have rectified the situation but they did not. I would have been completely okay if they said sorry and even offer to exchange it. But nothing. I felt like they were annoyed when I questioned them about my meal. read more

I honestly think they're beef soup is underrated. I came in craving some type of noodle soup so I came in the morning. Unfortunately, they were not ready to open at the time stated in the front. Waited in the parking lot, and they finally opened the doors 30 minutes later, which is why I leave out some stars. Overall, it ain't bad for what it is, just wouldn't go out my way for it. read more

I came in on a Friday afternoon specifically to purchase some siopao (asado), taho and black jelly drink, but saw they offer popcorn chicken (spicy) now, so I decided to try it out too. Prices of food is starting to get expensive and portions are shrinking. There wasn't many people eating here around lunchtime, so it could be due to the prices and small portion size. I was the most disappointed by the popcorn chicken as it was only 9 pieces (McD sized chicken nuggets) of chicken which came in a big container (noodle soup/rice bowl container) which made it look like very small portions. I do like their food, but I minimize eating at a Chow King now due to price and portion size. Personally, I like their siopao and taho, so that is what I mainly come Chow King for now days. read more

Since we were in the neighborhood, we dropped by Chowking for a couple of baos and a drink. The restaurant was fairly busy when we walked, there was boisterous group of customers in one corner of the room plus a few more customers here and there. We placed our order at the counter: 3 Asado-flavored steamed bao buns and black jelly drink. The young lady at the register was very efficient and courteous; she processed our orders quickly and we were on our way. The black jelly drink hit the spot; it was cool and refreshing. The steamed buns were very tasty; the dough was super airy and pork filling was absolutely delicious. I regret not purchasing more to take home; oh well, maybe next time. Overall, we had a positive experience: the service was good and food was great! read more

The food is okay both is taste and texture. It's edible but not great. The service was nice and fast. The ambiance was okay but the floor where I was sitting at had too much rice on the floor and chair. There was barely anyone there. read more

To start off, I'm only reviewing their taho dessert offering and nothing else. The reason is, I hardly ever eat fast food. However, this place serves taho, a quintessentially Filipino dessert, a uniquely delicious sweet treat from the Philippines made with silken tofu and chewy tapioca pearls mixed with a rich brown sugar syrup. It's a classic. I don't know too many places where it's served, but it's a standard item on the menu and I go there just for the taho. I didn't grow up in the Philippines, but in the five years of childhood living there, it's one of the few things I remember from the motherland, especially visual of the taho man balancing a bar on his shoulder with two large containers of the ingredients while barking in the streets. I suppose it isn't just the treat I remember fondly and crave, but also of a warm cultural reminiscence. And so, Chowking serves this deliciousness with remarkable consistency in quality as I've had it over the years. I'm grateful to have a go-to place for taho. read more

Its a great place to eat and take home foods. The service are good. Ambiance ar good.

Very sad (and surprised) to read the negative reviews about their fried chicken. I personally think they have the best chicken i town because it is always crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. (I've never had a dry birdie yet.). Plus they aren't as salty as the rest of the chicken joints in town. I usually order the larger family size just so I can reheat them the next day in the air fryer. Sooo good!!! I don't Door Dash, Uber Eats or Grub Hub, so I'm not sure if that may be the difference. I prefer to order in person & do my grocery shopping while I wait for my order. Sorry to those that had a bad experience. But until I've had my own, I'm not dissuaded. read more

First time order. Bundle 1 supposed to have 6 pcs chicken, 6 buchi, 3 rice, 3 drinks. They sent 5 pcs chicken, zero buchi and 5 lumpia that was not ordered. No sauce (paid $0.15 for recommended sauce). Food was inedible. Chicken was deceptively crispy because it was basically dehydrated. Chicken dried out to the point it was like that movie "Survive" about the Brazilian soccer team crashes plane in the snowy Andes Mountains and they have to cannibalize their dead teammates. The chicken was as dried out as the frozen cadavers they had to scrape strips of freeze dried flesh off the bones and gnaw on little strips of dried people. That's how dry it was. Chicken jerky. Rice was barely warm. Never again. TO MARIA D. that replied to this review, I tried to access your website contact form but you force me to insert an order number which your system won't accept. I don't have a receipt from your store I ordered thru GrubHub and their order numbers are not accepted in your form. So I can't contact you "personally" as requested. read more

Filipino breakfast hits the spot - so yummy. I ordered the 2 entree breakfast with Bangus and Tocino. Super yummy! Don't forget to ask for vinegar. Customer service needs improvement. Maybe eye contact and friendliness would be nice, and attentiveness too. He was taking my order but looking the other way. I wasn't sure if he was listening to me or not. Service is slow for a fast food establishment. Other than that, we had a decent experience. There's plenty of indoor seating and the dining room was fairly clean. read more

Came here for lunch after shopping at Seafood City. Came at a good time, there was no line and we didn't have to wait long at all for our order. We ordered beef mami, chicken mami and two beef siopao. Orders came out within a few minutes. The siopao was delicious - hot and tasty. Hubby would've loved more egg, but I can do without it. The soup broth was delicious, not overly salty. Noodles were cooked well but we both could've ate more noodles in the soup. Hubby liked his beef mami. For me --- where's the chicken?!!!! I didn't see any chicken pieces until I looked closer and realized it was in tiny little bits. Almost looked "freeze dried" and then warmed up in the broth, haha! I think I'll order the beef mami next time. The place was decent. Wish they would clean the tables often. Every time we eat there, most of the tables are dirty. Other than the occasional fly(ies), we liked our meals. read more

This is Chinese-Filipino fast food. For example Panda Express is Chinese-American fast food. So set your expectations accordingly. As others have stated this isn't a great location... We ordered the 6 piece steamed baos, lychee tea, and the feast #1. The chicken was some of the crispiest I've ever had! (Fun fact. Chowking is owned by Jollibee!) The total which fed four people was around $50. So it's affordable. The baos had good flavor. The baos come with a sauce packet. They also sell them frozen. The lychee tea was sweet. It's too bad they didn't have any ice for the drinks that night. It also took about 30 minutes to get our food. To be fair they did tell us it would be about 20 minutes for the chicken. Chowking is quite popular. We saw several groups come in around 8pm for dinner. I just wish they were a little faster for fast food standards and had ice when it was a warm night. read more

Stopped by to get those siopao asado and Buchi's. There was a short line but then after I ordered the line got longer. Service here was so slow. Only 1 staff attending the register and also making the drinks. The wait was almost 30 minutes. The customers who lined up after my order were given their orders ahead.... I asked if my order were the ones on the counter, the rude staff abruptly said she was just going to bag them and I still had to wait till she finished what she was doing. This location is so under staffed but then they don't have to be rude just because. I got 6 pcs of Siopao but was only given 5 sauce packets. I asked for more of the sauce and was told there's a charge of $0.11 a packet. Really???? So I inquired how msny do I get For a $1???? I got 9 packets !!!!! read more

I was at your restaurant today. The staff was very respectful and nice. I am writing this review so that the owners of this establishment will be aware about your fried chicken. I tried the chicken once I got home and noticed there was a chemical flavor to the chicken. It wasn't the seasoning but it tasted like either the oil used to fry it or some type of leak that got into the chicken or it could also possibly the batter. I was afraid to consume the chicken for fear of food poisoning. Please check the batch of chicken from maybe an hour ago and see why it taste the way it does. A concerned patron read more

Well, let's see...the best thing was the steamed rice and the Diet Pepsi. If you love over cooked chicken that has almost no meat left, then this place is perfect for you. Instead of the sesame balls we ordered, we got lumpia. Given the greasy, extremely over cooked, sad excuse for fried chicken that they delivered, I would not risk ordering from here again. I'm giving two stars because the soda was cold and the rice was not cold. read more

11/04/24- With rising costs of food, I do believe that the quality should not be compromised. Went here and got pancit canton, siopao, black jelly and beef brocolli bowl. First off, the bowl is not even in a bowl. The beef brocolli has only one piece of brocolli and the rest were meat. Yes, they do advertised "more meat", but it's called brocolli beef, so where's the brocolli. The black jelly has a slight bitterness to it. It shouldn't be. Paid 24.83 for some mediocre food. The fountain drinks- there are times the homeless will just go inside and refill whatever cups they have. That's a big No No. Very unsanitary. They should not allow that in the first place. read more

Just to make this short as possible, this was my first time having Beef Wonton from Chowking.. Ordered it to-go and took it home.. Honestly it was an ok customer service, the food was hot, they separated obviously the noodles/wonton from the soup which is a good one, but the taste was kinda bland.. I guess I needed to add lemon and soysauce.. Over all, this wasn't the noodles I was expecting.. read more

The food here is decent for a quick bite, but don't expect anything mind-blowing. I got the beef wonton soup with 3 pieces of siomai (I already ate one in the picture cause I was hungry haha). Not too bad! The soup and siomai were a bit salty and beef was kind of hard to chew though. The siomai was probably my favorite part because it was tender and tasty--to counter the saltiness I used the lemon packet provided with the meal. It made it so much better! read more

This chow king in Vallejo, CA has false advertisement all over the internet and also on the door . It says they close at 9pm but they shut the business at 8pm and the staff can't explain when I asked why does the internet is not updated and also on your door. Its harder if you are not true to your customer as to we were driving up north and checked locations on the way to our destination and wanted to get chow king and Vallejo was on our way and it says online they are close at 9pm everyday. What one would expect from asian-fusion fast-food. I liked their noodles, and was glad they didn't have onions. Their bao was pretty meh, and overall the quality was not great. I very much did not like their fried-chicken, it was too greasy and crunchy without substance or flavor. I will in the future just go to Jolibees down the road. I will say, service was nice, and they were very helpful. So, I greatly appreciated the staff...it's just that the food was not very good. If you're in a rush, please go ahead, but there are lots of other places for much better quality and the same exact price. In fact, I used my calculator and saw it was exactly the same price as Jolibee's if you order the same amount of food, so no real reason to go. read more

I have been going here for many years and unfortunately, it appears the quality of food and service has gone down. Prices have gone up but portions have gone down. The last time I had gone here a month ago I ordered the beef wonton soup, to which there was only soup and barely any noodles. More recently I had ordered longanisa bangus and the beef wonton soup again. If you look at the pictures, one of them is missing a lot of toppings and it was only when I spoke to the supervisor about my order she was kind enough to give me another order of the beef wonton soup with all the toppings it should have as shown in the photo (shoutout to her she's very kind). As shown in the pictures below, they appear to be skimping on portions for the soup and one of the pieces of longanisa was overly burnt (shown in photo). I am not sure if some workers just don't care and are purposely skimping on toppings or if they are not trained to know what an order looks like which should be simple right? Regardless I am definitely not going back here. read more
