The service was excellent, everyone was attentive, kind, and made us feel welcome from the start. The food was delicious, and our favorites were the Pepperfin with hamachi and the teriyaki salmon. Both were fresh, flavorful, and really well done. We're already planning to come back to try more of the menu. Matsuri has been in Vallejo for years and we genuinely wish we had been coming here sooner.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience here was unacceptable…read more While dining with our 9-month-old baby, a man who appeared to be a friend of the owner became irritated by normal baby noises, turned around, and told my infant to "shut the f*** up." As a parent, I was shocked and upset. I immediately brought the situation to the owner's attention, expecting him to address the behavior or at least show some concern. Instead, he laughed and sarcastically asked if he should call the police. There was no apology, no attempt to handle the situation professionally, and no concern for the fact that a customer had just verbally attacked a baby. What made the situation even more disturbing was that another couple nearby overheard everything and complained to the server, questioning why that man was still being allowed to remain and receive service after speaking to a child that way. Even other customers recognized how inappropriate the behavior was. I understand that not everyone enjoys being around children, but no parent should be treated this way, and no business owner should laugh off behavior like this. A restaurant's response to unacceptable conduct says a lot about its values, and this experience made it clear that customer respect is not a priority here. Because of how this situation was handled, I will never return and cannot recommend supporting this business

The food was great and cooked to our preference. I ordered the Ocean Wave form the menu it came with Onion Soup, Salad Filet Mignon and Scallops, a choice of Fried rice or steam rice, shrimp and grilled vegetables and ended with a scoop of ice cream. My steak was cooled as I liked it a perfect medium rare and my scallops were seasoned well and I wanted more. Everyone in our party went home happy and satisfied. I forgot to take pictures of the main Entree because I was ready to just dig in. I will try to remember the next time I come back. The place is nice and the overall experience was great. I been to other places like this and I can say this was one of my favorites.

Pulled out all the stops and got the agedashi tofu, salmon kama, unasake/eagle rolls, combo sashimi, and sake maki for the kiddos. Service was friendly, food was pretty good, and the ambiance was clean and welcoming. Recommend lunch here and then some dessert at One House bakery or the ice cream spot down the street!

I get different maki each time, but my favorite is the basic spicy crunch. No matter what else I get, I add a spicy crunch. I've had the yakitori a couple times. Excellent. will confess that even though I have been here thirty times I haven't really experienced the entire menu, mostly because I'm fairly ignorant when it comes to Japanese dishes and I don't order what I don't understand. You can navigate the Japanese menu. You will fall in love with this place Someday I will go ahead and be brave. Of course I love their sushi as well. It's just a comfortable eating experience. It's a place I can pop in without a moment notice and have a wonderful meal. I love the atmosphere and the friendly chefs and waitresses.

The bartender was very attentive and courteous throughout our visit. We ordered the garlic noodles with shrimp, Bob's fried rice, potstickers, clam chowder in a bread bowl, and the chicken teriyaki wings. The garlic noodles with shrimp were really flavorful, and the fried rice was good as well. The potstickers were perfectly crispy and came with a ginger dipping sauce that was amazing. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was also very good and comforting. They only had two wing flavors available--plain or teriyaki. We usually like spicier wings and prefer them extra saucy, but the teriyaki wings were really good. They were nice and crunchy, crispy, and had just the right amount of sauce, not too much, but still flavorful, even for someone who loves saucy wings. The sunset view was beautiful. The place is small and probably fits about 20 people, but it wasn't packed when we went. I enjoyed my Hennessy, and honestly, everything on the menu was good and tasteful. Definitely looking forward to coming back again.

Review is strictly from what I received from my DoorDash…read more I had high expectations since it's hibachi but fell short in my opinion. First steak is super thin I thought it was flank steak for a second. I ordered medium rare and it was indeed well done ( still giving reasonable doubt since it was a door dash order could've cooked more on the way) Paid $49 for "3 proteins and this is all I get. 3 thin strips of chicken , couple of shrimps and 3 thinn slices of steak. (I've gotten waaaaaayyyyyyyyy more for an extra $10 from the spot in Benicia ) I upgraded for "shrimp fried rice" thinking they'd actually chop it up and mix it in the rice like I've seen in other reviews . They just threw shrimp on top of the fried rice and called it a day . Veggies had a thick hand of pepper laid on it so that was a bummer. Maybe it's a different experience ordering in the restaurant, but I won't stick around to find out

So I found myself out in Hiddenbrooke visiting my mother and we decided to go get lunch-didn't…read morereally feel like driving too far after driving down from Sacramento so we chose the local restaurant in Hiddenbrooke, which I've always kind of enjoyed-The Loft Thai and Sushi located in Hiddenbrooke. This place is located in a small multi tenant shopping center located near the entrance of Hiddenbrooke with ample parking-so that was nice. This restaurant is for sure a local restaurant that serves the Hiddenbrooke community with most of their patrons being locals from the community. That was what we found upon arrival, most of the customers did seem to be locals in for a quick lunch. I would describe this place as an Asian fusion restaurant.-the depth of their menu was surprising-like "Cheesecake Factory-esque" level depth of menu.Their sushi menu was many pages and I hadn't even planned on getting sushi but after looking at this menu,I had to try something-so went with a simple Spicy Tuna Roll ($12.95). Off the Thai menu we decided to go with the Trio Meat Fried Rice ($20.95) Virgin Drunken Noodle ($18.95) Pad See U ($16.95) and Drunken Noodle ($16.95) Well I don't consider myself an expert when it comes to Asian fusion but I've had it more than a handful of times-so I can say with confidence that the food here was pretty good- very tasty-the Virgin Drunken Noodles were Interesting due to their use of glass noodles-the beef in that dish was seasoned well.I ordered my Drunken Noodles spicy and for that they delivered, quite a spicy dish. The Pad See U had really good veggies on it-very tasty and snappy. The Spicy Tuna Roll was pretty standard-the highlight being I somehow got my mother to try sushi for the 1st time by eating a piece of this sushi roll-she didn't hate it which I think is a pretty good review from a 73 year old Native American woman trying sushi for the 1st time. In closing,if u ever find yourself out in the Vallejo or Hiddenbrooke area and you want to give a small local business a try-this place is a pretty good choice-with a menu this big, your bound to find something on there that will make you happy. PS....I forgot to say I really enjoyed the house hot sake-pretty good flavor and perfect item to warm you up in this cold winter times we are in.
