BBQ spot located in the industrial area of Benicia and feels family owned and operated. It's got a hidden gem vibe to it because it's located in the industrial area among some company parking lots. When I first came here, I was warmly greeted right away by the owner. This place really does feel like I'm coming over to one of my good friend's kitchens and they're cooking me food. I truly felt a warm sense of hospitality while eating here. I came here a couple times because I was working in the area. The space itself is not large with a few tables inside. And you go up to the counter and put in your order before sitting down or waiting around for takeout. The first time I came here, I got the lunch special, which was the chopped cheese. It was delicious. The second time I felt like I should actually try their barbecue, which was also good and I'm pretty solid deal specially with barbecue prices these days. I like that they also sell other things from their friends and family. One of the times I bought some baked goods from one of their friends. We recently went to the brick & mortar store. It's not too big, you literally go through the door: place your order, pay, and walk out with your order. It's a pretty efficient and seamless option. They have outside dining area. Parking lot is pretty big because it's shared with other businesses. We came here for lunch and I was sad we weren't here earlier for breakfast. The menu sounded like a pretty good spread and they open at 6am. I'm not sure if that's weekends only or everyday that they are open. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be here to try breakfast. We ordered: 1. Pulled pork sliders: Amazing with the fries. 2. 2 way meat: brisket and tri tip were ok. A little over cooked for my liking. They ran out of mac n cheese and it was another 25 minutes for a fresh batch. I ended up going with potato salad which was pretty good. 3. Beef hot link: Ordered a side because I had to try it. To me it was pretty hot and spicy but flavorful. 4. Cali drip: I didn't know until leaving a review that this was the same place we tried in Vallejo. It was still disappointing to me in my opinion but my standards are pretty high for a calamansi drink. 5. Sunset drink: I forgot the name but this is delicious. Our new go to Bbq spot!!! Service was great, Doc and his family were welcoming nice seeing a family running a business together. The food was delicious love that everything had flavor and went well together and nothing was dry. Smoked ox-tail kare kare was fire juicy and tender even had it with some rice, Pork ribs was juicy and the flavor was great didn't even need the bbq sauce loved the savory beans, Potato salad was good too! Small little BBQ joint with outdoor seating. Very friendly staff. The Mexican Lumpias were very good. Think of a lumpia with birria meat with the soup. The ribs were very good, tender and juicy. Smash burgers bring joy to my heart. Benicia does have burgers, but I'm really looking for a local place that isn't a chain. Don't get me wrong. I love places like In and out Burger but there's something about growing up with places like Cliffs and Buds Burger in Vallejo. Just an old fashioned place that does burgers right. So recently someone asked if I tried a BBQ place in the Industrial Area. If you are a Benician, then you are automatically skeptical but I peeped the menu and began getting more interested. Oh you do sandwiches too? Oh you do burgers too? Wait...yall got Lumpia too? There's definitely some potential. So I tried them out yesterday... That was an interesting first start. I think the number might be wrong on Yelp because I ended up calling the Vallejo location. Luckily he gave me the Benicia # and I called this one and was fine after. The lady who answered was super nice. She texted me when the order was ready. Luckily I was already on my way to pick it up. I live only 5 mins away so needless to say I picked it up shortly after. I'm not sure if there is sit down inside. There might be some place to eat outside but to me this place seems more like a to go location. You order at a window like The Workshop does it. And then you pick up your order on the right hand side. Now for food I wanna knock out the negatives which isn't much. The fries aren't really crispy but man are they flavorful. 2 stack(Basically a double double) was cooked perfectly. Literally the style is the closest thing to In and Out that Benicia has and Im not mad about it. It doesn't however come with Lettuce or tomatoes. It does however come with pickles on the side. Caramelized onions also come on the burger(Along with the usual mayo spread).Lastly they give you this sauce. I don't know what it is but it tastes like something close to a Spicy Aioli. It's pretty addicting...It's spicy but also just a tiny tiny bit sweet too. I actually put this on both the fries and burger and mannnn was that a fun time. I was super impressed with this place. Because I had such an experience with just the burger and fries, I definitely wanna try the BBQ to give a final assessment. But for now, this is a new hidden gem for me in town! read more

A family member sent me a video of this place based on proximity to me and of course I came the next day. I was so excited to see that they have beef hot links and couldn't wait to get a hot link sandwich! Ordered 2 hot link sandwiches thru asked if I wanted fries so I assume it wasn't included the hot link sandwiches are $15 each that's fine I don't mind paying food good food and I know bbq is expensive. I got my sandwiches home an I felt it was small for the price. Each sandwich has only one link on it and they aren't huge links. They could've just put it on a hotdog bun. It's too small for the price for me. It was good but just small. I'd try something else hoping it was more proportional for the price. Won't get another hot link sandwich though according to the menu I can buy the links for $5 so maybe I'll buy 3 and make my own sandwich at home for the same price lol read more

The BBQ here is really good. I liked that it wasn't salty, and the flavors were unique with a subtle hint of Filipino influence. My personal favorites are the brisket, pulled pork (very sweet and smokey while somehow not being saucy at all) and the homemade baked beans (loaded with meat too). I have lived in my Benicia and my whole life and and all of my years of living here I've always wanted a barbecue restaurant around because the closest one was in Fairfield, Texas roadhouse. My favorite meat was the chicken because of its flavor and juiciness!! I loved the potato salad right away and I got a double portion. ! The tritip and ribs were delicious!!! I'm going to be honest! My job got their food. If I'm not truthful, then I don't feel good about myself. I know the truth is hard to hear at times, but I must give it. Their meat has NO FLAVOR WHATSOEVER! It tastes like someone just put meat in a smoker and called it barbecue. If you're going to cook American Barbecue, YOU MUST DO RESEARCH ON ITS VARIETY OF FLAVORS! The meat wasn't marinated either! Flavor should be oozing out of the meat! They also made attempt at coleslaw. FAIL! It test like someone thinly sliced cabbage and carrots, then added mayo and called it coleslaw! Lastly the mac and cheese the same thing NO FLAVOR! If you don't know how to make Mac and Cheese watch 10 highly rated 1 million+ plus views on YouTube, about how to make it I wouldn't care if you copied someone else's recipe as long as you do it right if you want me to pay over $40 dollars of my money for it! Moist, Tender, slightly sweet, but definitely worth swinging by on your way to Fairfield,Vacaville etc. from the Eastbay.. The meat needs seasoning! The people were super polite and friendly, and Christian which was awesome! We got the 3 way with pork ribs, tri tip & hot links, Mac n cheese & potato salad. The potato salad is the red potato salad with cheese and bacon. It was decent. The Mac n cheese is the penne type noodles - it tasted ok. You can opt for their daily menu which offers BBQ plates, sides, sandwiches and smash burgers orrrrr you can try something off their daily special menu. The daily specials change everyday (duh) so follow their IG to stay in the know before you go. Spicy chicken sandwich $15 - 6/10 This is a special so don't expect to see it on the menu everyday. It comes served with seasoned fries but I opted for their sweet and savory option. It's a fry seasoning that reminds me of Wingstop, so if that's your jam, highly recommend. I had such high hopes for the chicken sando but tbh was a little disappointed. I only work 5 min away, but the bun and chicken were both sooo soggy, and this was picked up fresh. The chicken was fully coated in a spicy bbq sauce which had a little zip but the sauce was just alright.. nothing to write home about. I did love that they used chicken thigh, BUT there was a whole piece of bone/cartilage I bit into, so that wasn't pleasant. The pickles they use are so bomb though, nice thick cut slices, and that's coming from someone who doesn't even like pickles lol They served this with a house sauce on the side which I tried with both my sando and fries. It's a mayo based tangy sauce that didn't really complement the sandwich or the fries, but I could see it working on a taco or burger. Mac and cheese $8 - 7/10 I love baked mac n cheese but I still want it creamy. This unfortunately does not check off that box for me. It's made with penne pasta (so is it even considered mac?!) and a hefty amount of cheese. You could taste the cheese in this with every bite! It's not the best mac I've ever had but it's far from the worst. If you're a cheese lover, this one is for you. I added this to my chicken sandwich to give it a bit more texture since my buns were so soggy and lemme tell you, this was the move! Mexipino lumpia $15 - 8/10 Basically a birria lumpia, however I'm pretty sure the filling was just pulled pork and cheese. The meat was a bit dry and didn't have the mexican spices you'd expect, however, you get a dipping broth on the side that is so robust and flavorful, it changes the flavor profile and dryness of the lumpia completely. Make sure you squeeze a couple limes over your lumpias before you dip them for that extra oomph! Personally I would love a spicy salsa with this, and an option to order a half size as a side. Despite the disappointment I had with the chicken sandwich, I feel like this spot has real potential with their other items on the menu. I love how family-centric this establishment is, and the good vibes and community the owners bring. It's evident in their resto and the content they post on their IG. I was at sunstate rentals across the street and noticed a sweet smell of smoked meats. I locked up the location on yelp and decided to give it a try. I came back the they were open and as soon as i opened the box (happy me) I drove back to Concord because I wanted to enjoy this meal outside of my work truck. I can't wait to go back. I have to give my 100% honest review. It's the only way I know how. So, I decided to pass on the combo plates. I ordered 1/4 brisket, 1/2 bbq chicken, large Beans & Rice with bbq sauce on the side. Total came out to around $45. That's what I said. $45 !? too pricey for the proportions. Broken down, I basically paid $11.50 per item. I wanted the sauce on the side because I wanted to see if the meats were dry or juicy. They're dry. The bbq sauce was not to my liking. Very watery, bland, absolutely no type of compliment to the meats. The best part of my $45 meal....the Rice and Beans. Only because I'm 100% sure the beans were canned because it came with the bacon and stuff that I'm used to when I eat Beans. For my own rating; I'm going to have to give it 2 napkins out of 5.
