I had the sushi/sashimi special that came with 3 pieces tuna sashimi and 3 pieces salmon sashimi along with California roll, and nigiri (tuna, unagi, ebi, hamachi, and one other that I'm forgetting). Let's be honest, we all know what we're getting when you order Sushi from a Vallejo Safeway parking lot. It's not like i'm surprised when i have a subpar meal that cost around a $100. Yo! is a slight step up from Grocery store sushi. They put enough sugar sauce on the rolls so you can get your fix. But, boyyyyyy how the mighty have fallen! They can't even wrap the rolls anymore. Everything is mushed together. The oil from the fryer is mature and holds years of flavors. They went from a solid 3 star to a low 2 star but are keeping $$$ prices. This was some of the best Sushi I have had in a while. I love that they have a variety of cooked options, that are also very tasty! We had the Lion King and the Crown Spicy Tuna. the flavor was on point for both, literally no notes. The staff were very helpful with choosing options that fit what you like because there are so many to choose from. They even have boba and specialty drinks. I really enjoyed the blended Thai Tea. Ordered delivery after getting back from a month long international trip. I was very pleased with their selection of vegetarian options. They offer a range of creative veggie rolls instead of just cucumber and avocado. The delivery was super fast and the way they packaged the rolls was lovely with a plumeria flower. I tried 2 of different rolls - one with mushroom and one with tofu and also got a side of miso soup. It was a perfect meal after 2 days of traveling. Will def order from them again. read more

Ordered a $16 roll called a Texas roll. Got four pieces and they were so big I couldn't fit it in my mouth. So had to bite into it which it just fell apart. Ordered sake too and already done with food. Told them about it and they told me it's all the same portion still. Sushi is an art. I paid for the preparation not the amount of food. It's been a long time since I've ordered from Yo Sushi in Vallejo. I usually go to the one on in Fairfield. It was horrible. It was DoorDash. It was really fast, but the food tasted gross. The north Texas roll had nothing in it but cucumber and a fried softshell crab something inside of it tasted rotten. I think it was supposed to be Unagi, but it absolutely was not made right and then I had the combo Tsuneo. It had no sauce at all. It was just cucumbers with toppings. It was horrible and then I ordered the Philadelphia roll, barely any smoked salmon in there and then I had the deluxe spicy tuna, and that roll was actually pretty decent, but it had way too much of the crumbles on top for my liking. I would definitely not order again. Which surprised me because I've eaten there before and it's been good so I don't know what happened with the Delivery but whoever cooked today that was the worst sushi I've ever had in my life. read more

Furious. I ordered a high end sashimi platter and received three packets of no name soy sauce. Even if the non-name would have tasted good (not) it is not anywhere near enough for the amount of sashimi I ordered. I knew the brand from a good in-person experience but this delivery really sucked. I'm not sure if you can add instructions to get kikkoman but that's the only way I would order again. We haven't been to Yo Sushi since maybe 2017? Today, we took a little walk over at the Glen Cove Waterfront Park. After our walk, we decided to have early dinner. I decided on this place because I was craving sushi and it was the closest to us. The sushi menu still looked the same, but with higher prices. Here's what I ordered: Angry Lion King Roll: While I do appreciate that it's stuffed with so much, it's a little hard to eat. I would like to enjoy my sushi without it breaking. I would like to be able to pick up one piece normally like at other sushi places. What I didn't like about this too was when I'm scraping the bottom to pick up the fallen rice and crab, the foil gets scraped. I almost ended up eating a piece of small foil. I was starting to get worried that maybe I ended up eating a piece? It was good but so horribly messy. I think if you go to other sushi places it's not nearly like this. I usually get a lion king roll at almost any new place and even ones we frequent, and it's not like this. Agedashi tofu: this is usually my go to as an appetizer. I can tell you that this is not even close to what it should be like. It's pretty much just fried tofu. Here's what afedashi tofu is supposed to be like: "The tofu is coated with potato starch to create a crispy crust, while the inside remains soft and custardy." This isn't executed as such here at Yo Sushi. It might do the staff wonders to go out and try some at actual Japanese restaurants that aren't "fast casual" and see how it's made. But this should not be called agedashi tofu. I forgot to take a pic of it. While it was nice to get a "cheap" dinner I probably would prefer to go to suruki for my lion king and California rolls if I want something cheap and quick. The flavors were solid and satisfying, especially the Crazy Monkey, which had a good mix of savory and creamy textures. We did come in close to their closing time, so the rice wasn't as fresh as we would've liked -- a little dry -- but the overall taste still held up. A bonus: they were really generous with the wasabi and ginger, which we always appreciate. If you are craving quality and quick service sushi in the area then look no further because Yo Sushi is where it's at. They had quite a bit people dining-in, yet still had my takeout order ready to go. I appreciate that because sometimes I just want to be incognito with my takeout runs. So I do appreciate a business that creates a seamless pick up process -- that flow, if you will -- to be in the door and out within moments. There was one person who walked in ahead of me and so I was able to take some quick photos of the place. It's well lit and super cute with festive decor. They even have big screens too. Once I got home the food presentation, temperature, and freshness was perfection. Top tier and left my belly satisfied. I think I found my new favorite sushi spot! What's not to love?! read more

When I asked about it staff said because of grub hub charges. I picked up the food myself, never used their service.
