Tried Pho Hoang for the first time because of the good ratings, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. To start, I ordered the fried chicken wings, and to my surprise, they weren't even hot when served. The texture of the meat inside also made them seem old or not freshly made, which was not a great first impression. For the main meal, I had the BBQ beef plate with egg, spring roll, and shrimp. The biggest issue for me was the rice -- it was unexpectedly hard, and the entire plate arrived cold. I honestly couldn't believe it because who wants cold food, especially for the first meal of the day? The shrimp was also extremely salty for my taste, to the point that I only managed to eat one piece and left the other two untouched. The beef and egg were okay, but it was hard to fully enjoy them because the food overall lacked freshness and warmth. I went to get a haircut for the new job and it was cold and I really wanted to give this spot a try. The spring rolls were bland and tasted heavy of lettuce which was off putting The broth of the pho was lacking.. I wanted more of a beef flavor and more depth. The bone marrow addition was good but not at the same time. There is 100% a process to get rid of the bone shavings but I found quite a few. Came here with my sister and my dad because we haven't had Vietnamese food in a while so here we are. We ordered the Vietnamese style chicken wings to start, my dad ordered the bone marrow pho, my sister got the P8 (Eye round steaks and tendons), I got the P5 Combo pho (eye round steak, tendons, tripes, brisket, and meatball). I also got a Vietnamese coffee. Everything tasted good. But the main highlights for me was the vietnamese coffee and the bone barrow pho. The coffee was rich and had bold flavor. In terms of the food, I was really impressed with the portion sizes. I got to try the bone marrow pho and there's soo much creaminess to it. The service here was really good. The food came out fast and the staff also checked in with us frequently. This restaurant also has a lot of available seating and parking is never an issue in this area. Hands down the worst Vietnamese restaurant out of the 50+ I've ever been to. The spring rolls are not fresh. They taste stale, chewy and like old shrimp. You can see how yellow the lettuce is in my photo. The combo pho came with exactly one piece of tripe, 2 slices of steak and 2 meatballs. The noodles are way overcooked. Absolutely pathetic. This is the third time my friends and I have visited and it's always good! Waiters are attentive and always keep your waters filled. Interiors clean, comfortable, and all but welcoming. Pho Hoang was a bit hard to find at first. Based on Google maps we actually went to the wrong one with similar name and street. Luckily that one was closed for the day and we found the correct one. Pho Hoang is pretty new but has the best pho we've found in Vallejo. The beef broth is savory, rich and flavorful. What stood out were the star offerings of oxtail pho (my favorite type) and a bone marrow pho which I never had before. Boy, the bone was huge and definitely worth trying! It comes with a long spoon to scoop out the marrow. More marrow than any bone I've eaten. Yummy! The second time we came with more family Pho Hoang didn't have the bone marrow pho I had raved about. We will call to confirm the next time we go. However, their oxtail pho was excellent too. They had both the third time we went. Delicious! We watched them set up a seafood hotpot for about 12 people. It looked good too. Maybe next time. Pho Hoang is a casual, family-owned place and the servers were helpful and friendly. The owner checked with us on our visits. We finished a fun day at Six Flags and my friend mentioned there was really good Asian food in Vallejo. I had no idea. We picked this place based on reviews and proximity. We were seated immediately. They were gracious when my son spilled a cup of water and the food came out quickly. The lemongrass chicken play was huge and so good - my 6 year old ate a ton. I brought leftovers to my daughter and she had the same reaction as me about the absence of good Vietnamese near us I had the veggie pho as well. Went to this place for the first time, a hole in the wall in Vallejo and absolutely loved it. Small family owned spot and really gave out authentic Vietnamese food. The drinks were refreshing and all the food came out super quick. I loved the spring rolls, it came with the normal peanut sauce but I'm allergic so I paired it with fish sauce. The banh xeo was crispy and most places I've tried, it is usually soggy so I give it a 10/10. Fresh ingredients. I loved the garlic noodles and shrimp. The shrimp was packed with garlic and super juicy. They def do not skimp on their portions. I suggest ordering a few dishes and sharing! Wasn't this location another Vietnamese Pho restaurant? I got tired of eating at Red Ribbon, Chow King, and Jollibee and I thought I would give Pho Hoang a try. Boy! I was not disappointed. He ordered the bone marrow Pho but they were out, apparently this dish is the star of the house, I overheard several other people in table next to us trying to order that also. This is me and my husband's favorite Pho restaurant! I must admit, the service and food is 10 times better than Pho Lee Ho Phat which was there before Pho Hoang. We love coming here because it tells the story of Vietnamese food and history. The ambience is inviting, and The owner recognizes us each time we come in. And greets us warmly. I am Vietnamese and have eaten a lot of Vietnamese food up and down California as well as in Vietnam. The food is fantastic. I got the pho with the beef rib and the meat was really tender, fell off the bone, and not too fatty. The soup for my pho did not have too MSG and was really really good. The smoothie I got was a good value and not too icy and had good smooth texture as well as good taste. Service is at the top when compared to other Vietnamese restauraunts. I hear them communicating in Vietnamese about the status of orders frequently so that customers are not waiting too long. They check in on customers, refill water regularly, and I saw a table getting help packing their food into togo containers too. Really enjoyed the relaxing music as well. I was feeling a bit under the weather so we went to get pho from Pho Hoang. The restaurant is pretty big and spacious. I ordered the P10 which had steak and brisket in it. The pho was delicious and really hit the spot especially since I wasn't feeling well. The meat was tender and easy to eat and the noodles were cooked nicely in a soothing broth. Overall, it was great but also it was like your standard pho from any other well known pho spot! If you're craving a good bowl of pho and you're in the area, check this place out! The crispy egg and salad add additional flavors. The side of pho was exceptional. CM9 rice plate had a pork on the thinner side, but packed a flavorful char from the grill. Outstanding food! Yelp rates it a full 4.5 and I would have to say the near perfect rating is no exaggeration. My guess is that this restaurant is family run. The ambiance is modern clean and the interior looks spiffy. The back wall of the dinning room is decorated with a history of pho. 1/2 the customers are modern Vietnamese Americans eating pho with smiles on their faces. The pho is obviously top tier, and I've watched other noodle dishes being run to tables that look fantastically good too. This is my second trip here and my order was exactly what I got last time: Vietnamese coffee, bahn mi, banh xeo. Someday i will make it to the noodles but not yet, because what i order is so good I don't want to miss out. My yelp reviews are either customer warnings or enthusiastic thank you notes. 4/7/24 We read some good reviews and wife and I decided to drive some miles and pay to cross the Zampa bridge for Pho. As we got close to the location we became apprehensive. YEP. Some years ago we stopped going to Pho Lee Hoa Phat ll at this same location when we saw one of there employees digging for gold in his nose. We marched full speed ahead. Let's try this out. An employee is cleaning window sills. A good sign 3. The place looks clean and organized. Pleasant mood music plays softly. 4. I notice a rag falls off a cleaning cart. I hope that rag is not used on tables. I hope not. I want to like this place. 5. Arrrg. The cleaner picks up the rag and puts it back on the cart. Please oh please don't reuse that rag! 6. Food arrives. Bone marrow Pho in one bowl and a ginormous bone with lots of meat and cartilage left to cut off, and our egg rolls. Everything is very tasty. Very tasty- though I would have preferred the Pho broth to be hotter. 7, 8, 9. Getting everything edible of the bone and shaking it down for the remaining marrow. Come out of there marrow! 10. Yes!
