Probably one of the most confusing restaurant experiences I've ever had. The last time I ordered the shaken beef, they sent me exactly five cubes of beef. Five. Not five ounces. Five individual cubes. I honestly thought maybe the rest of my order had gotten lost somewhere between the kitchen and reality. When I called to ask about it, the response I got was, "Five is good enough. It works for me." Well, that's great that it works for you, but unfortunately I'm the one paying for it. At the current price, serving five tiny cubes of beef feels less like a meal and more like a scavenger hunt. I've had samples at Costco that were more filling. I've ordered a few items to go from here I've tried banh mi, their pho, the wonton soup and the mango sticky rice. Both SUPER DELICIOUS. I'm obsessed with the broth from the soup--it's not too strong, just the way I like it. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the wontons and meat slices were tender and filling. The Jackfruit smoothie had a super creamy and smooth consistency and it tasted soooo good. I was looking to try a new phone place and Benicia and through about giving this place a try. I was shocked about the menu. It had more than just Vietnamese food. Saw they also had shot ribs for one of the rice place and appetizer menu has grilled squid. Service was good. Definitely a family run business. I really enjoyed their pho soup base. The inside is small but homey, it's a nice place for a casual meal with friends and family. The service was decent, the staff was friendly and they got food out after about 20-30 minutes so not too bad. They were pretty short staffed, i think it's family owned so they don't have many people working all the time. The food was a bit disappointing. I ordered the combination pho and a plate of spring rolls. -spring rolls: Really good, i would say they are a bit small but better than most places price wise. It came with peanut sauce which was OK, it looked a little darker than usual so i'm unsure if this is a housemade sauce -combination pho: This dish was EXTREMELY small. The portions of the noodles were about what you'd get for a small/medium size pho at most restaurants. There was almost no meat maybe just small pieces of different beef pieces. The food was also somewhat unsavory, not super flavorful. The bowl is so small you will likely leave still feeling hungry. All in all, it's still rather new so I'd hope in the future it will improve.
