Fettuccine Dos Sabores
Winn H.

TLDR: Beware of the convenience fee! Maybe it was from card, but it was not communicated. The fettucine dos sabores is popular, but it was not tasty. Maybe it was an off night, or maybe it wasn't for me. - - - - - - I visited Chios upon recommendation, and it caught my eye because it was Peruvian. I had Peruvian once, and it was a remarkable experienced. A friend mentioned the Lomo Saltado, but I ordered the Fettucine Dos Sabores at the remark that the beef was the same as the Lomo Saltado by the staff. Dinner started with complimentary breadsticks and a spicy salsa dip. The breadsticks were okay, but that dip really hit the spot! A better pairing might have been with tortilla chips. After this, I was excited to try the Fettucine Dos Sabores from those Yelp photos, as it looked tasty. Unfortunately, the Fettucine Dos Sabores was not too tasty, and I regrettably label it as the no sabores. Both sides were lightly flavored, and it felt like eating pasta with thick, watered down sauce. I'm not too sure what that green sauce was, but it had a nutty taste, possibly an attempt at pesto. The yellow sauce tasted like nacho cheese blended with tortilla chips... It was not the tastiest combo. The fettucine can comfortably feed two, but after ordering it once, I can't say that I will be bringing a friend or coming on a date for this. The staff were friendly and but on the slower end. There was also no mention of a "convenience fee," and the total was ~$35 after tax and tip.

I ordered for an Easter meal on that Sunday. I ordered: OCTOPUS $42.50 PULPO A LA PARILLA BEEF TENDERLOIN ($28.79) (CHURRASCO A LA PARILLA) SEAFOOD RISOTTO ($24.99) (ARROZ CON MARISCOS) Everything was to DIE for! Everything so tender and juicy! The beef tenderloin knocked me out of my seat! I ended ordering there again a few days later because that's how much I loved this dish!

A shrimp served with the "jalea" dish.

A restaurant shouldn't serve shrimp with the vein (digestive tract) because it can contain grit, waste, fecal matter and bacteria, making the shrimp taste bitter and look unappetizing--reflecting poor attention to cleanliness and quality.

So this location is little slow and parking is not the best with only a few spots but the food is still delicious. Order the lomo saltado or mar y tierra. You get full off all the fries and rice. When the sauce soaks up the rice, oh man it's good. They give free warm bread as the appetizer. The green sauce has a kick so beware.

This is probably the best Peruvian place I have tried They have a few locations and I have been going to the Van Nuys one The service is excellent, and the prices are really reasonable I usually get the roasted chicken and also the seafood soup So fresh and so delicious Give it a try, you wanna regret it

La Copa

My go to ceviche spot in the valley !!! I love the Copa as it has such a special flavor and makes the ceviche unique. Chios is a staple for peruvian food in the valley, the service is always great. Im a regular and highly recommend

Was needing to treat myself and seafood was what I needed. I got there late but was greeted warmly and seated quickly. A seafood combo platter was so scrumptious. Tends octopus, calamari, shrimp, muscles, potatoes and all covered in savory sauce. The best!

Chio's was a good experience! I had lunch with a friend. The fish ceviche was fresh, the green spaghetti packed with flavor, the Anticuchos very tasty and the Lomo Saltado was really good. The service was attentive, but the atmosphere, while okay, could use some improvement.

We go to Chio's when we want some pulpo (octopus) and their Peruvian meat dishes (lamb and steak). This is our first time in this branch since the nearest one closed (Tarzana). Also went to their other Van Nuys branch before but this spot is less hectic and it was quiet for a Friday night - not sure if it's because we got there before 8pm. First thing - very limited parking - you'll have to snag a spot on the street. There's indoor and outdoor dining. We sat indoor and ordered calamari, pulpo, steak with fries and fried rice with beef. For drinks we got some inka sodas, chicha morada and Maracuya... not sure which one is the purple drink but I prefer the passion fruit one. So we keep going back here when we're craving octopus. I cook different dishes and whenever I go to a restaurant I always tend to order food that I won't cook myself. Octopus is one of those so it's always expensive when you order octopus in a restaurant but I don't mind the price if it's tender and flavorful. Underneath the octopus are some corn, potatoes, shrimps and squid. The sauces - love the green one - I think it's chimichurri. Speaking of green sauces - the one they include with the hot bread is good too. Love it when you get warm fresh bread. We recommended to my son to get the other beef dish that has sauce but he opted for the one pictured below. It looked dry to me but my son said it was very tasty. He cooks and seasons well when he does so I'll take his word for it. We saw a heaping serving of calamari ordered by another diner so we ordered one too. I would say for the price they have bigger serving for the calamari. The mains we've ordered here are about $20-$35+ but can be for sharing. We tend to not experiment with food so when we know what we liked - we tend to go back and order the same thing. Eating out is not cheap these days so why risk ordering something you don't really want. Location is not the best so we will probably go back and check out the new Tarzana location since that's closer. I

This is what 26$ get you plains garbage dnt waste your money frozen pre made fries and bland plain white microwave rice
Jasmine M.

Deserves zero star this is what a $26 plate looks like Basic premade, frozen french fries, and bland microwaved, white rice This is a lomo saltado plate I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. Tried to give them a second try and it seems they've gotten worse. Take your money elsewhere. overpriced and just a hype. this order comes with bread and I had to tell the lady after checking both orders where my bread was, then she got some plain pizza looking roll no sauces or anything ugh garbage this is not Peruvian food

The Pescado sudado with white rice highly recommend, absolutely delicious…read more I always get lomo saltado ( steak with fries and rice) absolutely amazing! You can't go wrong with any of these dishes... can't wait to try more dishes. Service is fast and the ladies are really sweet and attentive. Ambience is very chill and comfortable. This place is a 10/10 food taste and quality

If you're looking for REAL, authentic, soul warming Peruvian food with incredible flavors and even…read morebetter people behind it, Asumare Peruvian Cuisine is the place!!! This was one of those dining experiences that sticks with you, and not just because the food was amazing, but because the hospitality made it feel like you were being welcomed into someone's home. We started with the Yuca Frita with Huancaína, and it was the perfect introduction to the menu. The yuca fries were fried beautifully, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The huancaína sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. That yellow sauce had a subtle warmth and depth without overpowering the yuca. It was comforting, and impossible to stop dipping. Next up was the Lomo Saltado and woah this dish alone is worth the visit. We ordered it with ribeye and chicken thigh, and the combination was incredible. Everything was sauteed perfectly with onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, creating that classic savory, tangy, umami-packed flavor Peruvian cuisine is known for. The meat was tender and juicy, the vegetables were cooked just right, and the French fries soaked up all that flavor beautifully. Served alongside fluffy white rice, it was hearty, soooo satisfying, and incredibly well balanced. You could tell this dish was made with intention and experience. We also tried the calamari which was another solid hit. And a first for me! Lightly fried, tender, and not rubbery at all. It was clearly fresh and cooked properly. It paired really well with everything else on the table and made for a great shareable dish. But the real star of the night was a dish that completely surprised my partner and I! It ended up being our favorite dish, and it was the Tigre de Leche. THIS was hands down one of the freshest, most vibrant things we tried. The citrus was bold and super lemony, in the best way possible. You could taste the lime juice, the chile, onion, and cilantro all working together to create something bright, refreshing, and layered. It was zesty, slightly spicy, and incredibly clean tasting. One of those dishes where every spoonful wakes up your palate. If you're a ceviche fan or just love bold citrus flavors, do NOT skip this. It is a definite MUST try. Another thing that deserves a special mention is their iconic green sauce. It seriously went with everything we ordered. Creamy, herby, and just the right amount of kick, it elevated every dish from the yuca and calamari to the Lomo Saltado. We found ourselves reaching for it nonstop. Seriously one of those sauces you immediately wish you could take home. The customer service truly elevated the entire experience. Fabrisio, the owner, was phenomenal! He took the time to personally explain each dish, walk us through the flavors, and even share the story of how his restaurant came to be. You can feel the passion he has. Not just for Peruvian cuisine, but for creating a welcoming space for people to enjoy it. Super nice guy, super chill, and genuinely down-to-earth. The whole place gave off strong family vibes, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Shoutout to Melissa as well, who was serving us. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. The service felt thoughtful and personal, not transactional. Over all we had the best experience, truly. Whether you're new to Peruvian food or already love it, this spot is a gem. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. We will be back and have already recommended this place to my family and friends! Thanks so much for having me. :D

So we went to Chios well the parking lot is very easy to park, it is adjacent to sizzler's restaurant. My friend Laurence chose a chicken tamal, Peruvian style, and fried plantains. My friend Evelyne chose a vegetarian Tallarin, with green fettuccine, and a bowl of vegetables, since she's vegetarian! At first, they had brought her the tallarin with the chicken milanesa, but she returned the order since she's vegetarian, and received the tallarin with vegetables: shereally love it! And personally, I ordered de aguatito de Pescado y mariscos: it is a green colored seafood soup, with peas and rice; it was my first time ordering that and I really liked it although I thought the green broth was a little bit too thin so I ordered a little more rice to put in it! Also, I ordered a tallarin saltado de mariscos to go, for my home. I love their food: it is so delicious and fresh I ll come back here anytime ‼
