The problems are this: service is extremely slow, refills take a very long time, when an error was made in my salmon (blackened seasoning barely detectable) they took so long bringing me some more seasoning that my son had long since finished his dinner while I was still waiting on service to my main entree. The salmon had no hint of a "blackened color" to it. In addition this restaurant has a rat infestation, which the waiter admitted to once we showed him the rat teeth bite marks in the chair we were sitting on. (See attached photo.). My wife, who is a rat expert, recognized the characteristic bite pattern. On a plus side, thus restaurant has the best potato soup I've ever had. read more

If you wanna wait an hour for a dry burger come here. This restaurant doesn't deserve customers at the moment

I unfortunately got food poisoning from this location tonight and am up sick as I write this. This may also be tied to how understaffed they were when we went in. The host was doubling as a server, and we got refills just once AFTER we had finished our meals. We won't be back. read more

If you ever go here i recommend having Reed as your service he was amazing from the time we set down at our table till the time we left,He made sure our food was good which it was hot and Fresh, He also took his time out of his way and made sure our drinks from the bar was coming to us, This is our second time coming here and I would recommend this place to anyone I also love the environment it make me feel as if I was home! read more

The ladies bathroom has a toilet leak and backup today. It smells like poop. The floor is very wet with soiled toilet water.

I met my mom for lunch and it was a quick in-and-out sit down restaurant. Pros: quite affordable, quick service, socially distanced tables, genuinely nice server, host, and managers. Not to mention all of the sides I tried were good, from green beans to the fries. Cons: The 6oz filet I ordered was cooked to a medium instead of medium rare and the meat itself was a bit poor quality, but at the same time, how much can I expect from a 10.99 steak meal?! I would say it was pretty decent for the price. Oh... and don't forget the free honey butter croissants. They are delicious and the extra calories were worth it. read more

Wow I haven't been to a Cheddar's in forever, but I had a great lunch here! There was hardly any wait on a Saturday afternoon and the service was great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We got the complementary croissants and at first glance I was disappointed at how flat and deflated they looked, however, taste was still 10/10. They've always had delicious croissants, but lacked presentation this time around. I ordered the Key West Chicken and Shrimp with fries and a caesar salad. The salad was good, maybe a little too generous with the parmesan if you can believe it. Shrimp and chicken were cooked well, but rice wasn't my favorite. It was a little too wet from the salsa I believe. Not too bad for a last minute lunch and I was glad they had some healthier options to choose from. A current issue with the location of this restaurant is that there is a ton of construction on I35 right now, so entrance is harder to spot and you will definitely not make the turn immediately off the highway, so don't listen to Google maps. read more

I am not one to usually be confrontational, matter of fact, I hate the idea. But this was one of the few times where confronting had to be done. On 1/24 I made the mistake of going to Cheddars in Pflugerville for my friends birthday. I happily ordered myslef the drink of the week, and a Sirloin Steak w/ steamed broccoli and Baked Potato Soup. The waitress then asked me if I would "like my soup before my steak" to which I happily agreed. The steak was then delivered to me 45 minutes later, pictured below. No broccoli, no baked potato soup, and no effort on my plate. Just a chunk of cooked meat on a pathetic, dirty looking plate. This plate should have NEVER left the kitchen. What was the waitress even thinking... I ended up speaking to the manager about the issue, and she looked extremely uninterested and unapologetic about it. She responded to the story with a "well what do you want? A dessert or something?" To which I responded yes that would be nice. I then began to look at the menu and she stated "no, you only get a mini cake actually". The mini cakes are 3$ for your information... The manager or the waitress here did not care about my business here. I will never return or recommend anyone to a Cheddars ever again in my life! read more

Place is great food most of the time is delicious the service is pretty good but other than that would recommend

Let me start by saying I adore Cheddar's. My usual location is fantastic and I've never had any issues ever. This particular store though is just not great. Here's the scoop: -The food takes FOREVER to come out. When we arrived, it wasn't super busy, yet out food took 45 minutes to come out. We both ordered sandwiches, so I am not sure what all took so long. -The food, after waiting forever, came out lukewarm. Very disappointing. -This location does do good with curbside to-go orders. I've done 2 here and the food came out on time and was great. Curbside is good, but inside is in need of some help. It's an ok place but do not expect anything special from this location. read more

I love this restaurant since me and my partner always go but I had an issue last time when the food wasn't properly cooked. They apologized and everything but I got Typhoid from it. The chicken was raw and wet and I noticed halfway through since I was tryna have a good time and not quality test the chicken. The place is always cold but that's my opinion on it. I love it till I fell ill there. It's really been more degrading the more and more I visit. read more

My boyfriend loves taking me to dinner on our anniversary because he knows how much I love food. He took me to cheddars which is in the area that I grew up in and it was always a treat going. It does seem that within the past few years chewies has been going under but to me the food is still good. My favorite thing to get is the grilled salmon over rice, with broccoli cheese casserole and a loaded potato. The loaded potato is salty with butter cheese and sour cream. The broccoli cheese casserole is filled with broccoli, cheesy, rice and crispy breadcrumbs. My absolute favorite side. The salmon was flaky and moist and tasted delicious with the sweet and tangy sauce they bring to go on top. Overall the food was good but I would love to see it fall under new management and really fun uve this place the upgrade it needs. read more

We waited a bit to be seated but the manger noticed as soon as he walked towards the lobby. He attended us quickly and had the host come over to seat us. Our waiter was very attentive the whole time. Never had to ask for refills or for napkins! He really deserved the tip we gave him. He even gave us complimentary croissants even though we ordered the chips and queso! We were really happy and it made our day to get such kindness! Our food was tasty too. My pasta was a lot so I had to take it home. It was also very hot. We also ordered the pot pie with a salad. Boy, are their pot pies the best! I even ate my partner's plate cause the pie was that good! Definitely will come back to this location! read more

We stopped here after a very late flight into Austin. We got to the restaurant to order take-out right after the kitchen had closed. But they were kind enough to take our family order. This was a life saver as there were not many options left at that tie of the day. Very much grateful. Thank you. read more

Posting this review is kind of sad for me, because my wife and I met for the first time at this location nearly 16 years ago. In the interim, we've enjoyed a lot of good meals there, and some of the menu items have become kind of "comfort food" for us. So once we started venturing out to eat again after all this pandemic business, we looked forward to going to Cheddar's. I guess the stolen car that had been stripped in their parking lot and was sitting on the hubs with the doors open and the everything ripped out of it should have been a clue, but we sallied forth. We went in and the host just stared blankly at us. Not "Welcome to Cheddar's," or "How many in your party?," or "How can I help you?," just a blank sullen stare. When pressed, he finally wrote my name down and mumbled that the wait was about 15 minutes. We sat in the waiting area and watched time tick by... 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and no one who was there before us had been seated, either. When we asked when we could expect to be seated, the response now was "oh it will probably be another 20 minutes. Most of the restaurant is closed, because we only have two servers." It would have been nice to know when we walked in that they were unable to actually conduct business. We walked out never having even been seated, but I suspect if we'd waited we may never have received our orders anyway. I'd say this is a clear management problem, except that there didn't seem to be anything remotely resembling "management" at this location. I understand that getting staffed and getting back to normal is a challenge for many businesses now, but this was unacceptable. I hate to say it, but I suspect this was my last visit to this location. We went next door to FD's and were seated immediately and had great customer service from everyone there. Cheddars, you blew it. p.s. After writing this review I went to Cheddars.com and wrote them about the problem, and when I hit submit it said "FORBIDDEN REQUEST." OK. I get it. read more

The food was amazing, and the service was remarkable. And cheap too! I'd definitely go here again.

We ate at Cheddar's last night and it was not a very enjoyable experience. We were seated at a booth where the sun was in our eyes. We tried to adjust the blinds, and that's when I realized how absolutely filthy the blinds and windowsill were. We asked for a different table, but instead they sent someone over to try to adjust the blinds. The guy ran his hands down those dirty blinds to try to close them. My drink was sitting right there and I could just see all that dust flying around. I wonder how clean other areas of the restaurant are. I must add that the food was fine. read more

We arrived a little over an hour for a late night dinner before closing time. There was a slight wait to be seated but not long. Our waitress quickly took our orders. When we received our food after a long wait some food was correct and some not. My daughter ordered broccoli rice casserole and received fries. She also asked for bbq sauce and received ranch. Eventually, the missing items were corrected. I ordered the veggie plate: garden salad, broccoli rice casserole, carrots, and corn. Maybe because it was the end of the night the quality of food changes. Some of my carrots were shriveled and parts of my broccoli rice casserole was crunchy/hard. read more

When it was suggested that we go to Cheddar's for a business lunch I quickly scanned Yelp reviews and said, to myself, oh cr@p! Setting my expectations low I figured I would just order defensively. Well, sometimes you are pleasantly surprised. Even though they had a moderately busy lunch crowd we were able to score a booth. The host introduced our server, nice touch, and everything went aces from then on. Being that we were on the clock we would have never ever order their top-shelf shaker margaritas. But I heard they are fabulous and when I return I would order one. We both started with side salads that were AOK not great but definitely better than you would receive at other chains. Salads come with one of their hot buttery signature rolls. Damn those carbs I wish I asked for another. I ordered the chicken pot pie as my main and at first, I thought it was pretty liquidy but adding in the pastry really helped. I love me some chicken pot pie and this one did not disappoint. My dining companion ordered the chicken fried steak and his portion was large enough that he boxed up half of it for dinner later. Great lunch experience, service, and so I've heard cocktails. read more

The food at cheddars is delicious. The service here was also great. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because this restaurant is filthy! I get it, your extremely busy. The restaurant can be cleaned thoroughly during closed hours. I'm sure the manger can look for a night crew just for cleaning. The bathroom, floors, windows and atrium is extremely dirty every time I come here. If all these visible areas are filthy I can imagine what the kitchen looks like. I don't know that I will be coming back anytime soon even if the food is good. Restaurant needs a complete deep cleaning or a makeover! read more

Food is always amazing. Service on weekends can be slow as predicted. Will return, for sure.

Quality of the food has went down, prices have went up, and service is very hit/miss. I miss the old Cheddars!! What happened to the great service and good ole food. They changed the recipe to the cornmeal catfish which was a bad decision. The red beans and rice taste different now too, used to be packed with sausage now one little piece of sausage in a serving. The Monte Cristo is still FABULOUS as well as the fried shrimp and broccoli cheese casserole. They also still have a great frozen Rita though most all the other drinks are weak. read more

This was my first time there and it took 5-10 minutes to be seated at nearly 2pm in the afternoon. There was hardly anyone there and mostly open tables. We finally were seated and the hostess took a very long way around the restaurant to do so when there was a MUCH shorter way to our table. It took some time for our waitress to come to the table to take our drink order and we had to ask for straws which took what seemed forever to get as well. My girlfriend ordered the chicken pecan salad and I ordered their chicken strips. It took probably about an hour to get our order!! I finally hit the Call Server button on their electronic thing on the table and waited forever for our server. We had finally given up on getting our food and were about to leave when our food finally showed up. My GF liked her salad, but neither one of us liked my chicken strips - they had no flavor at all. I finally (regrettably) paid the $33 and we left. We won't be back! read more

Chain casual dining. Haven't been in years. Let's go Apps: Queso with Beef: Pretty basic, kind of artificial cheese. At least there's beef over bacon - 6/10 Santa Fè Spinach Dip: Pretty bland overall, could be more cheesy - 6/10 Honey Butter Croissants: Lathered in butter, nice golden brown and flaky - 8/10 Entrées: Smokehouse Burger: Pleasantly surprised with this one. It's a moist patty and the cheddar is sharp. Good touch with the BBQ sauce and crispy onions. Not factoring in the cost for the review, but I'll take it every time for $6 - 7.6/10 Overall: 6.9/10 Follow me on Instagram @ahmadeats for all the food and attractions read more

Valentino is a fantastic server! He was incredibly kind and made our dinner more enjoyable than it already was. I understand what customer service is like, and I also understand presenting with a "customer service voice" or "attitude", and Valentino made it feel so genuine and kind. He also has shared interests with my girlfriend and me, so it was easy to talk to him. The food was good, and for the price, even better. The wait was quick for a Saturday night, and even though I know it can depend on the type of night and the number of customers, it was even shorter than their quoted wait. We had a group of seven. It was our first time eating here since we drove from California to visit family living out here. We asked for a table however we were told that we had to split up and sit in two booths. We asked the host again if we could have a table since we wanted to all eat together. The host told us it was up to our server because he was the one who said no. Our servers name was Christian. When we asked him and explained the situation. He told us "we could sit there" however the busser would have to clean more tables and that they really didn't want us sitting there. So we sat at the two booths separately so that way we didn't inconvenience them in having to clean a large table. We spoke to the manager and told them it was unfortunate that this happened. As I'm sitting here writing this review I see a staff member sitting at a table braiding another servers hair. I'm so glad they have time to do this. P.s If you're off the clock then I believe you should not be on the floor where customers can you see you. It looks bad. Updated*** Another server/bartender came up to us and said he was sorry about the situation and that it should've never been an issue. He was so nice his name was Jesse. But thank you! I think he was amazing for coming over to us. I bumped rating to 2 stars because of him. Unfortunately I will not ever come back. If I did I would only sit at the bar for service and ask for Jesse. read more

I haven't been to a Cheddars in a while we don't have them in Cali. I was very disappointed that there were barely people in there and yet the wait for someone to come to our table was atleast 5 min I'm sure it would have been longer had we stuck around. We felt if it takes that long to get a greeting how long will be to actual get our order. I was really looking forward to a few things on the menu. My husbands never been so I was excited to be able to Take him there. When We walked out nobody bothered to ask us why, so I take it this is common practice. I should have known when we were sat in the bar area which was completely empty and not my ideal setting with an infant, you know it's a bar after all not to mention the only options were booths. Also, my little one dropped his toy as soon as I strapped him in and it was drenched there was a pooling of water under his high chair. I felt like they just threw us in an area in the other side of the resturant that wasn't open and prepared for service. Chairs flipped up and all. read more
