Portions seem smaller but the food was as tasty as ever and the service was fast and very attentive!! I THINK the Monte Cristo I had was a touch over cooked but that did not affect the taste. It's been a long while since I've been to Cheddar's, and after this visit, it'll be an even longer while before I come back. The staff were friendly, which is the one bright spot, but the restaurant itself is in rough shape. Inside and out, it's clearly in need of updates and repairs, think peeling paint, worn surfaces, and an overall run-down feel. It didn't come across as clean, and that made it hard to enjoy the meal. The food didn't make up for it either. I'd rather see them charge more and focus on improving quality of the food, because right now it just doesn't feel worth it. Our server was really patient with us and suggested the cheddar bites which were really great he was such a nice fella considerate over everyone needs even conversational. I'm giving Cheddars a 5 star review because of the quality of their food, the price point for what you get and the service that I received at this location. I've been several times to this location because it is close to my daughter's home. We were looking for something different than the usual but still a sit down meal. What I like about cheddars is their menu is so extensive. There are so many options to choose from. usually when I like something at a restaurant, I tend to keep getting the same thing over and over but here they have such an extensive menu that I've tried different options each time. Everything I've had is cooked perfectly, and the portions are very generous for the price point. Cheddars offers a large dining area so it's easy to be seated in the service is always good. Daddy daughter date with my youngest and her favorite restaurant is cheddar's. So we stopped in for a lunch time splurge on this frigid Thursday. The exterior vestibule was heated and a welcomed relief from the cold. The hostess was pleasant as she promptly sat us in the main lobby. Lunch time was noisy for a relatively slow afternoon. Napkins, while I assume were freshly laundered were filled with lint debris. With no rush we decided on an appetizer before driving into our entrees. Started with complimentary honey butter croissants and the trio sampler. Little one went with the bacon cheeseburger and I tried the half rack of ribs. The honey butter croissants were as advertised. The chicken tenders of the sampler were flaky and crispy, the meat juicy and tender but seasoning was absent. Spinach dip wasn't anything to write home about and the queso was watery. Chips were fresh. Bacon cheeseburger was good. Nothing spectacular, but a genuinely good burger. Ribs were cooked well; falling off the bone, tender excellently cooked. All the flavor was in the sauce itself which was delicious. Our waitress, I believe her name was Derica, was excellent. All in all, an enjoyable visit. read more

Where to start... We called Cheddar's with two simple questions: do you have outdoor seating and are dogs allowed on it? Somehow that turned into a phone call where I spoke with 3 people before receiving a yes and yes to both questions. Under the belief that that was true, we showed up with our dog looking to sit on the patio and when we arrived we were told there's no server for the outdoor patio. You have a 10+ table patio during the summer and don't have a server for it? Instead, we were told to speak with the bartenders and ask them if they could run it. Spoiler alert, they could and were far more friendly. I'm not sure what's going on with the hosts and servers in the front but you may want to figure some things out because less patient people would have left at that point. More about the restaurant: parking is good, setting is okay, service outside of the initial interaction was good. For food we ordered the Monte Cristo, Dijon Chicken & Mushrooms, Kid's Alfredo pasta, a strawberry lemonade, and raspberry lemonade (free refills). Before any of that came out we were given some rolls with glazing on them which was pretty good. Our food took a bit to come out but when it did it was good. The Monte Cristo is delicious but can probably clog an artery or two on the way down. Crispy, savory, and sweet with the jam. The dijon chicken was good, a good mix of savory and bold from the mustard and mushrooms and a nice bed of rice underneath. The sides of broccoli cheese casserole and mashed potatoes were olay though, nothing too great. Lastly, the alfredo pasta was good. A simple dish that they executed well, cheesy and the texture to the pasta good as well. As for the lemonades, they were good but not too standout from the rest of the meal. By the end of the meal we felt it was good enough to return to another location but definitely not this location. The food was ok. The portions were too large for me. The croissants are the best thing on the menu. Our wait person was great. She was very attentive. I could not enjoy my meal because it was sooooooo loud. We were seated next to the bar and couldn't hear each other over the shouting at the bar. We asked to be moved and were told it would be another 30 minute wait. Do not go here on a Friday night! And definitely don't accept a seat near the bar. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied with the way that I was treated at this Cheddar's restaurant. I picked up my food and got all the way home all for it to be incorrect. Then, I called the restaurant to speak with a manager and was put on hold only for the server on the phone to tell me that they would take my name and phone number down but the manager could not speak to me at that moment. At this point, I was very angry and let the server that I would come up there instead. This was such an inconvenience due to the fact that I had already drove home. I went back up and had to wait for the manager again. When I spoke with him, I let him know how upset I was and that I did not want to wait for an order especially with how unsanitary the food that had been served to me looked. I requested a refund after he asked if wanted a gift card instead. I waited to see if he would confirm the refund but he never came back to speak with me to confirm if the refund had been completed. On top of that he took my receipt but I made online order so I have my order number in an email. I am still extremely upset with the way that I was treated and the service that was provided. I do not believe that this manager is going to stay true to his word and I really need assistance from corporate to get my money back from this order. I will never come back to this Cheddar's again. The Wednesday Lunch Bunch ventured to Cheddars restaurant in Pflugerville. The restaurant was almost empty probably due to the construction going on around the restaurant. We were seated immediately and a waitress took our drink orders while we looked over the menu. I had planned on ordering the monte cristo sandwich but I noticed a lunch special featuring a small fillet, baked potato, and vegetables for $20 so I went for that. That was a big mistake. The steak was mostly raw and the baked potato was mostly cold. One of my friends ordered the monte cristo sandwich which was excellent according to him and an order of the onion rings which was the main reason he wanted to go to Cheddars. They were also very good. Another friend ordered a burger with fries and the last person ordered the salmon. They all agreed that the food was pretty good except for my filet speciaI but I did order a Monet cristo sandwich to go and enjoyed that later that night. It was very good. I'm surprised by the reviews. My husband and I decided to try this place out and we enjoyed it. Pros: 1) The atmosphere was nice, I kind of felt like I was at a sit down restaurant at a theme park...not sure if anyone else sees my vision lol. Or like a more upscale Chili's. 2) The complimentary croissant/bread situation in the beginning was actually amazing, I was pleasantly surprised! It was like having dessert before dinner! 3) The food was tasty and well cooked. The prices are cheap here, so you get what you pay for! 4) The margarita we got was strong AF 5) Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. Cons: 1) The seating arrangements is a bit awkward, I think we were sat in the booths close to the kitchen or waitress area so there was constant running around next to us. I would've preferred being sat somewhere where the traffic wasn't so high. 2) There was a booth behind us and the people spoke so loudly to the point where it was ridiculous. It wasn't that loud in there to be shouting like that. But they sat down towards the end of our experience so other than that, we had a great time. Not the restaurant's fault. But cheaper prices brings in all kinds of different people. I know that's a bit harsh to say, but it's true. & I've seen several reviews of complaints about loud, inconsiderate people. So just be aware if you're sensitive to loud, excessive noises. read more

DO NOT order curbside!! Ordered food at 8:45pm. They said it would be ready at 9:05pm. I called and they said it would be right out at 9:10pm. I went in at 9:15pm to get a refund!! As I exited the car, someone brought out my order and told me that my order was dropped on the floor!! Don't tip until you get your food!! Wasted tip on bad service. I would really like to give them a zero rating. For starters the silverware had food particles and just was not clean. We asked for a replacement. Our salads were brought out, but no replacement silverware. The waiter went back and upon his return stopped to talk to four other tables and then got to our tables and had forgotten the silverware. We waited longer. Five minutes of looking at a salad. The food wasn't very good....just ordered veggie plates....when eating the rice I noticed a large black hair in the middle of the rice. I stopped eating at that point. Awful service....not clean at all....really somebody should look into them....and the food was a MAJOR letdown. It's truly awesome to receive great service and I can't under state how much my enjoyment at dining here was because of the friendly service. I found Cheddar's on Yelp and was attracted to the idea that the food is mostly made in house "from scratch " From the Spinach dip to the fried chicken...all delicious. The only thing wrong with my meal is not enough"broccoli casserole "! ( so good!). My server (Devon) was awesome and if they are all like her...can't go wrong having dinner at Cheddar's Lastly, prices here are very reasonable. For me, appetizer and dinner was under $25! This was our first visit eating at a Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. Mom and I were in the area on a mini-vacation and wanted to try something new. From the moment we set foot in the restaurant, we had a great experience. The fans in the main eating area were neat. (Not the typical fans used in restaurants. Great ambiance!) We sat at a table in the bar area, and the server on duty took great care of us. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. Mom ordered a burger and fries. Both were delicious! For dessert, the server brought by croissants with icing. Yum! Overall, the experience was top-notch. We will definitely eat here again. read more

Looking for some quality affordable cheap food and drinks this is it! I have been going to cheddars since 2011 when I moved to Lansing Michigan and was in heaven. As a college student on a budget this gave me the best bang for its buck! I have been getting the salmon salad since I discovered it! The pecans add a great sweetness to the salad. I always get extra pecans! I also get it blackened and honey mustard on the side! Also the spinach dip is the best I have ever had in my life, so creamy and flavorful! Before coming here, I went through quite a number of reviews which made me somewhat hesitant to come here due to how many 2 to 3 star reviews there were. This establishment is currently sitting at 2 1/2 stars total which would normally have me steering clear. One common theme in many of the reviews was the fact that there was a bit of a grunge factor and a lack of cleanliness which is fairly true due to the age of this building. This place can be as loud as a high school cafeteria due to the customers and the music. I was here years ago and had a great experience so we thought we'd give it another try. They start you out with a complementary honey butter croissant and water. They do have a full bar and some good inexpensive margaritas to choose from along with a few craft beer choices. I decided on two of their six dollar frozen margaritas during our time here. They do one thing that Applebee's also does and that is they give you a small computer screen at your table which allows you to order anything you want without your server being present. It is also used to settle up your bill and choose your tip at your convenience. As for the meal, I had the shrimp and 6 oz sirloin which came on a small plate with two very small helpings of corn and rice with 3 shrimp. The sirloin was tough and gristly and everything was fairly salty. The wife liked her chicken tenders. I can definitely say the quality and the portions of the food from years prior is not what it used to be. However, considering how inexpensive everything was, we really can't complain, just don't come here with high expectations. At least on our visit, I can say we had great table service. $55 out the door with tip, not bad, but not enough to bring us back. *** all around. I always love getting the baked potato soup here, but the last few times I've gone to this location they've completely cheated me on the BOWL of soup I ordered. Unfortunately, today was no different, and this time it's only filled up to right under the Cheddars logo. Who thought this was an acceptable amount to fill it with???? I mean seriously, I ordered the bowl not the cup... This has happened multiple times now and I feel like every time I try to eat here my experience has gotten worse instead of better. My son ordered the shrimp Alfredo--he didn't really like it, but he still ate it because he was hungry. Placed order via website. The coupon for free dessert did not go through, so I called the store before placing order. Was told that they can help me in the store. I get there and it literally takes 20 + minutes for them to prepare a slice of cake with ice cream on the side with no nuts. I had told the individual I spoke to when I called 30 minutes prior to arriving. My food was so cold when I arrived home. I only ate a little. The additional 20-30 minutes awaiting a dessert is ridiculous!!!! Someone told me that they were struggling scooping the ice cream!! Like really??? The ice cream received was clearly freezer burnt! This location has always struggled with communication and preparation!! If you order a meal the fries are hot but fish cold, hamburger fresh but fries cold. Despite the crowd (very very loud BTW) they got our orders out of the kitchen. Our choices weren't very exciting but the meatloaf was meaty and accompanied by the broccoli cheese casserole. Cheddars seems to always be a quick & easy lunch. That's not to expensive! However sometimes the customer service lags.... So I was prepared mentally . It was convenient for me to be able to grab a bite and get some e-mails checked in between clients. But Boy oh Boy was I surprised! This very sweet bubbly girl with lots of personality walk up and introduced herself as the waitress "Mercedes". Mercedes made my day. She even turned around my thoughts about cheddars service. The croissants are fluffy and the honey butter definitely adds a nice touch. My husband's go-to choice is the Buffalo chicken wrap. It comes with a side of fries - fries are good compared to a lot of typical American restaurants. My country fried chicken is very delicious - crispy on the outside but moist and tender inside. I got it with a side of broccoli and cheese casserole, Southern green beans, and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are good but nothing special to call out. Southern green beans is kinda sweet. Broccoli casserole has rice inside and it is quite cheesy. I read a lot of reviews complaining about service. My experience was the opposite. We had a few minor issues with our meal, including a bit of a soupy chicken pot pie. However, the manager, Aaron, personally ensured that the issue was corrected and then went absolutely above and beyond to make sure the rest of our meal was perfect and even treated us to dessert. Totally unexpected in the best way possible. My wife had never been to a Cheddars and I admittedly hadn't been to one in quite a while. Looking for a casual place to get some comfort food, this is the place for you. The atmosphere itself was actually more upscale than we expected although the booth we sat in was in a questionable state when my wife sat down. The food in general everything was generously portioned at a surprisingly good price point (especially with drinks). The food itself was cooked well albeit heavy (as expected), but wasn't necessarily anything to write home about. I would question how "homemade" some of their items were such as the cheese dip, but the service was quick and was recommended extra gravy (good call). Overall, we had a good experience and would come back for a low key dinner with family or friends especially in a situation without prior planning. read more
