This was our first time here and WOW! The customer service was fabulous! The lady in the front that is Filipino is super sweet! She greeted us and made us feel at home. Our waiter Lena was wonderful! She treated us like family and had great customer service skills! The baked potato soup was DELICIOUS! I could eat this soup everyday! Our sandwich and burger was tasty! I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade! The croissants were fresh out of the oven as well. The manage Richard asked about our meal and told them everything was fabulous! I get these items almost every time we come to this location and last night, rather than being given a spoon to stir there was a chip placed in the artichoke dip as if that was supposed to be used as the spoon. Then upon receiving the pasta, I noticed a thick uncut, not thoroughly cooked piece of chicken in my pasta and then upon mixing my pasta with the sauce that seemed to be placed on one side of the plate, a piece of a French fry turned up. Cheddars response: quickly removed my plate so I couldn't take a photo and they sent me a gift card to eat there again...as if I would be so ignorant to do so! Their response for follow-up has been inadequate and dismissive. They don't deserve one star. My horrific experience is not in a silo; I wish I had read their ratings beforehand. This location has some really terrible customer service! I came one night to get seated and the restaurant was slow, the girl who was seating me stated the wait would be an hour and a half! She clearly was trying to turn us away at the door so they would not seat us, the restaurant was filthy on the inside and tables had not been bussed. There was NOT a bunch of people there!!! I used to work in the food industry, this girl was extremely lazy and just wanting to not take any more customers.... When I told her that's fine for the wait time (just to see her reaction and if she would continue to lie...), she then very awkwardly and obviously writes down the reservation in the book and proceeds to say out loud "ohhh ok, party of two that will be an hour and a half wait, for two...you can wait outside if you want and we will call you. ( the crazy part is she didn't even get my phone number) I asked to speak with a manager who then the girl grabs another 'server' who lies to me and states the kitchen is backed up!!! I again ask to speak with a manager who comes out and tells me the kitchen is not backed up and that we should be seated immediately and he was us sure why those two girls working there would say that! We were seated in a very back dirty section where every tables was dirty, the servers there were all sitting around and appeared to not have any sense of urgency. My goodness this place is amazing we got sat down in a clean perfect booth instantly, I ordered the chicken tender platter with mashed potatoes white gravy and fries and for my appetizer I got buttered croissant (French accent) cwastont, and I got Wisconsin cheese bites the appetizer were amazing and came fast, after I polished off my first drink I found the refills were free!! When my food came it was a large portion of chicken tenders for only 11.89 and apparently a chicken finger fell off so they got a new one made for me and threw in some extra sauce!!! The fries and mashed potatoes and gravy were really good and the chicken tenders tossed in buffalo was really delicious! My final note is about my server his name is Cristian and he was so chill he had that vibe you know? He was very kind and frequently brought more coke for me, he was very nice and he was by far the best server I have EVER had in my entire life and he absolutely made my night! Cheddars is one of those chains that for some reason, probably good, never seems to disappoint. I have eaten at the Waco location once, and now twice at the Killeen location. Personally, sitting under that huge fan of fans in the center of the restaurant is fun. Now to the food. I usually order the whole herb roasted chicken, which while not a monumentally huge bird, is big enough to eat and take some home. Today I chose carrots and a side salad as my sides. Love their salads. They always use the freshest ingredients and the house ranch dressing is awesome. Those sweet butter drizzled croissants they bring out at the beginning are a pleasant change to rolls or biscuits. My lunch pal had the penne pasta chicken alfredo with broccoli. Excellent choice. When I went some time back, they sat me in the bar area, and I never got any service, even after sitting there for 20 minutes. I walked out, so zero stars. Today's visit was soooo much better. I got seated much more quickly than their estimate, the server was accurate and attentive, and all the food was very tasty. I had the meatloaf with additional side salad, and decided to try the cheesecake for dessert. I was concerned that the meatloaf looked dry, but it turned out to be nice and moist. I think they pan seared it after slicing. And the price was a bit more reasonable than some similar chains, when you consider how crazy the price of dining out has become. I've done several reviews here but unfortunately this experience last week was terrible. The server said he was tired and should have gone home earlier and we could definately tell his mind was elsewhere and he was over it. He came back to see what we ordered because he forgot, forgot our drinks several times, forgot the steak sauce I asked for and at times just simply failed to come by. As a result of him forgetting we sat there for over an hour while others who came after us got their food, ate and left. On top of that, we were seated in a booth by the window. Another server came by and asked to fix the window blinds because the sun was bothering another patron. My friend stood up while he proceeded to step all on her seat with his dirty shoes and ran his fingers all across the blinds. While he did that we saw dust fly around and drop down onto our table. When we received our food after a long wait some food was correct and some not. My daughter ordered broccoli rice casserole and received fries. She also asked for bbq sauce and received ranch. Eventually, the missing items were corrected. I ordered the veggie plate: garden salad, broccoli rice casserole, carrots, and corn. Wow, Cheddar's has gone downhill. My colleagues and I went for lunch on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded but we still had to wait on the bench as a party of 4. Our waitress was nice but didn't bring us our drinks for about 10-15 minutes. The food was mediocre -- the chips for the queso and salsa were stale and inedible. The croissants were mediocre. My salmon on my Caesar pasta salad tasted like it was cooked the night before and thawed out to be microwaved...overall just a nightmare and not what we all were used to. This used to be the spot. The food and the prices is what usually gets me to come here. The service overall tends to be pretty slow, and even slower when it's busy with people. The inside is like any other location, so it's not too bad. I've ordered pickup multiple times here, and it'll usually take 35-45 minutes for me to get my food after already waiting 30-35 minutes since placing my order. When dining in, it's also taken quite a while for my waiter to come by after the initial welcome and order placing. Other than that, I don't have too much of a problem with this location. Wow I haven't been to a Cheddar's in forever, but I had a great lunch here! There was hardly any wait on a Saturday afternoon and the service was great. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We got the complementary croissants and at first glance I was disappointed at how flat and deflated they looked, however, taste was still 10/10. They've always had delicious croissants, but lacked presentation this time around. I ordered the Key West Chicken and Shrimp with fries and a caesar salad. The salad was good, maybe a little too generous with the parmesan if you can believe it. Shrimp and chicken were cooked well, but rice wasn't my favorite. It was a little too wet from the salsa I believe. Not too bad for a last minute lunch and I was glad they had some healthier options to choose from.
