Our waiter Quinton giving my husband a fist bump
Lori G.

Arrived at the Chart House at around 3pm. I know too early, but they were very accommodating. We sat upstairs overlooking the river. Quinton gave his recommendations on food and drinks. The appetizer we went with was the green fried tomatoes. Too bad I had to share with husband. We also ordered crab cakes, they were ok. For main course I had prime rib which I had med rare. It could have been seasoned more evenly, but I still enjoyed it. "Q" surprised us with a slice of cake for our anniversary with a candle on top. That is service. I was very pleased.

Calamari
Becca P.

This experience was a 10 out of 10. Only thing we weren't satisfied with was the calamari, and there was no discussion about it. It was instantly removed from our tab and our table. Our server was very tolerant to our large parties chaos and we truly enjoyed ourselves all around,m; forgetting to document our dinners but everything was delicious.

We arrived without reservations, so we sat at the bar table. There was a couple on one end and a few guys on the other end, so we sat in the middle and the entire table became a big party. It was such an enjoyable evening. The shrimp carbonara was delicious as were everyone else's dishes. The only odd thing is they had Guinness in a can, but didn't offer me a glass. I asked for one and it was not chilled, which was no big deal, but I've never experienced that before.

Sangria cocktail with hummus appetizer

My daughter and I were on vacation and stopped in this place for dinner. Wonderful evening! I would recommend the Hummus and pita appetizer and seafood was also fresh! Hats off to the chef!!

We usually pass under this restaurant on the riverfront and don't think about dining here, but this visit, we made a point of making a reservation to dine here. We are very glad we did this as we had a much better dining experience with excellent service.

Prime Rib
Jay J.

The food and location is amazing! As a Landry's member I chose to take my coworkers here and they never disappoint! The prime rib came as I ordered it and the mashed potatoes are so good. The restaurant is nice and clean as well as well maintained. Service was excellent but that is as expected from a Chart House.

Beautiful space with beautiful river views. Food was delicious. Service staff met our needs.

The Chilean Sea Bass entree

Disregarded bad reviews and SOOO glad we did. Went for an early dinner......ended up sitting at a table in the bar area so we could watch the Chiefs play. We started with Fried Green Tomatoes and as my mother said.... I've never tasted them so good. They were lightly breaded with a tempura type crust. Topped with cheese and a warm shrimp roumalade. I had a peartini which was delicious. Two of us had the herb crusted salmon with a mustard buerre blanc with garlic mashed potatoes. The other person had the Chilean sea bass over lobster risotto with a roasted tomato buerre blanc. We ended with a crème brûlée flight that was a perfect end to a perfect meal. Our server Dani from the bar was very attentive and the manager came by two times to check on us. I couldn't make a stronger recommendation for anyone looking for a great meal, great service, and great environment!

Worst food ever!! Don't come here' she crab soup and rotten lettuce!

I think this place should be called "shart" house as the entire meal we had here was awful. Runny she crab soup, wilted lettuce and drinks that taste like vomit. A 100 bucks later we ran out! The waitress was excellent the place doesn't deserve her!

Best spinach ever
Alec T.

Service was amazing.! Ambience was lovely. Caesar salad, a bit saturated with dressing, and a little to the wilty side. That brought the overall experience down one star. They Seabass was incredible as was the spinach. The New York State came out gray and very well done, after ordering a medium, they brought me a replacement. Since my wife's dish was completely gone, as I patiently waited, I feel like they should've comped the steak since I had nothing to eat, but a piece of meat when it finally arrived. The second strip was very good, but if they want to have good customer service, I should not have paid for that steak at all! Hence the second missing star.

pomegranate mojito

The place was very nice and had a good atmosphere. I got the course meal which came with a small clam chowder, steak and shrimp and lava cake. All of it was amazing and my steak was cooked perfectly. Our service was pretty good, the server could have checked on us a bit more but was very nice. would go again!

Filet 7oz

Chart House Grill definitely satisfied my steak craving! The service was great--our waitress was super kind and helpful. The ambiance was peaceful and relaxing, making it the perfect spot for a nice meal. My dad and I ordered steak, and my wife had the salmon--everything was absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be coming back for another steak soon!

Ask the Community - Chart House

Is chart house pet friendly?

Hi Dorothy, only service animals are permitted at our establishment.

Is your patio dog friendly?

They no longer have the patio open

What is dresscode?

Hello Jenifer, The attire is dressy and/or business casual. Thanks!

Is this better than Vic's on the river?

I think Vic's has a little more authentic Savannah charm. Chart house building is spectacular!! They decor more trendy but very very nice, service in both wonderful!!! I have only had drinks and apps at both and both were great!

I enjoyed the ceviche as my starter, the pork chop as my entree, and the skillet brownie for dessert. Fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The host was warm and welcoming. My waiter was attentive and knowledgable and guided me into food and drink choices I very much enjoyed. I'm new to Savannah and am trying out a variety of restaurants. This restaurant's pricing and portions were very fair. It's also a quieter atmosphere than the others right on the river. You can enjoy conversation and the company of your loved ones. Experience a robust and flavorful meal here and then take a stroll along the river as a nightcap. Your tastebuds will thank you. Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

I didn't have a reservation but I showed up minutes before opening to see if I could just grab a spot at the bar or luck out with a table since 1. it's a party of one and 2. I arrived before they opened. I should have bought a lottery ticket because not only did I get a seat, I had an experience that I won't soon forget. Starting with parking. There's a lot next to the restaurant. There's also street parking. I showed up early and was the second car in the lot. There was street parking too but when I left later in the evening, I didn't see spots available then. Then there was the service. EA was aces. She was friendly. Knowledgeable. Attentive. Just go down the list of all the attributes of someone you'd like to represent an establishment in the service industry and you'd check every single box. The team was just as great. As business picked up, the team took care of little things - even just checking in to see how I was doing. Then the food. See pics. I went with all of EA's recommendations including the wine pairings and dessert. If you're a follower, you know that I recommend checking out reviews we have in common to see if our tastes align - but here are my thoughts: Started with the Ceviche. Liked the flavor, though it was missing a punch like it was muted for my taste. I still cleared the plate. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, corn bread and broccolini. I liked both the seafood and mac & cheese but felt they didn't stand out like the fried chicken an corn bread. Remember now, that's my taste buds. I inhaled the panna cotta. Dessert is never optional. I'll sum it up and say that I'd order everything I had again, just probably not the mac & cheese. It was my first meal in Savannah. First time at Cotton & Rye. It won't be my last. And I don't even live in Savannah.
