Absolutely terrible dining experience -- do not dine here. Last night, we visited the Chart House for a bachelorette party, and the entire dining experience was a disaster from beginning to end. I have never experienced such consistently terrible service at a restaurant. We had a 7:15 PM reservation but weren't seated until close to 7:45 PM. Once seated, the service was unbelievably slow. By 9:00 PM, only half of our table had even been given bread. At that point, we were incredibly hungry. It then took 45 minutes and three different waiters to get us another basket of bread so everyone could have some. We finally spoke with the manager and explained that our table desperately needed attention. Our waiter would disappear for 25+ minutes at a time. When he eventually returned to refill our waters, he blamed the issues on "new management" and said they were still working things out. He then had the nerve to ask us for a good review for himself, which was honestly laughable given the service we had received. Unfortunately, things only got worse. Around 9:00 PM -- nearly two hours after our reservation time -- our food finally arrived. Everyone at the table received their food except me. As someone who is five months pregnant and had still not eaten two hours after our reservation, this was incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. Of the nine meals at our table, only two were correct. One person in our party has a dairy allergy and was served a side containing dairy that she had specifically not ordered. Rather than correcting the mistake, she was told to switch sides with another person at the table who had received her intended side. That is not an acceptable way to handle a food allergy. The plates themselves were extremely hot, but the food was cold. One dish had to be sent back three separate times because it was incorrect. We spoke with the manager again, and at that point he decided to comp our food. While we appreciated that gesture, the waiter continued to be rude, offered no real solutions, and repeatedly placed blame on other people rather than taking responsibility for the situation. And somehow, the night still managed to get worse. When we received our checks around 10:00 PM for our alcohol and drinks, one person in our party paid in cash and was supposed to receive $4 in change. The waiter told her that he couldn't give her the change because they didn't have any singles. That was the perfect ending to what was genuinely one of the most ridiculous dining experiences I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and do not dine here. Between the extremely long wait, disappearing servers, incorrect and cold food, mishandling of a food allergy, lack of accountability, and even being unable to provide $4 in change, this restaurant completely failed our group. What should have been a fun bachelorette celebration turned into an exhausting and frustrating night. read more

Arrived at the Chart House at around 3pm. I know too early, but they were very accommodating. We sat upstairs overlooking the river. Quinton gave his recommendations on food and drinks. The appetizer we went with was the green fried tomatoes. Too bad I had to share with husband. We also ordered crab cakes, they were ok. For main course I had prime rib which I had med rare. It could have been seasoned more evenly, but I still enjoyed it. "Q" surprised us with a slice of cake for our anniversary with a candle on top. That is service. I was very pleased. read more

We arrived without reservations, so we sat at the bar table. There was a couple on one end and a few guys on the other end, so we sat in the middle and the entire table became a big party. It was such an enjoyable evening. The shrimp carbonara was delicious as were everyone else's dishes. The only odd thing is they had Guinness in a can, but didn't offer me a glass. I asked for one and it was not chilled, which was no big deal, but I've never experienced that before. read more

Disregarded bad reviews and SOOO glad we did. Went for an early dinner......ended up sitting at a table in the bar area so we could watch the Chiefs play. We started with Fried Green Tomatoes and as my mother said.... I've never tasted them so good. They were lightly breaded with a tempura type crust. Topped with cheese and a warm shrimp roumalade. I had a peartini which was delicious. Two of us had the herb crusted salmon with a mustard buerre blanc with garlic mashed potatoes. The other person had the Chilean sea bass over lobster risotto with a roasted tomato buerre blanc. We ended with a crème brûlée flight that was a perfect end to a perfect meal. Our server Dani from the bar was very attentive and the manager came by two times to check on us. I couldn't make a stronger recommendation for anyone looking for a great meal, great service, and great environment! read more

Service was amazing.! Ambience was lovely. Caesar salad, a bit saturated with dressing, and a little to the wilty side. That brought the overall experience down one star. They Seabass was incredible as was the spinach. The New York State came out gray and very well done, after ordering a medium, they brought me a replacement. Since my wife's dish was completely gone, as I patiently waited, I feel like they should've comped the steak since I had nothing to eat, but a piece of meat when it finally arrived. The second strip was very good, but if they want to have good customer service, I should not have paid for that steak at all! Hence the second missing star. read more

We had an excellent dinner. We were a little early for our reservation so we sat at the bar for a few minutes and discovered two exceptional employees, Paige and Amanda. They helped us decide on the perfect drinks. I must say I am not a martini connoisseur BUT the pomegranate martini was delicious. I think it is my new favorite go to. The food was superb! I got the Herb seasoned prime rib which was utterly delicious. My husband got the shecrab soup, fillet mignon with asparagus. All of which were cooked perfectly. We also met the manager Joseph who was delightful. We had a very nice evening in a cozy environment over looking the Savannah river. We can't wait to return and sample other delicious offerings. Chart House in Savannah has always been amazing. During my time down there I loved the happy hour at Chart House. It ran from 5-7 and had a few drink options but the food was where it was at. Calamari, a version of bang bang shrimp and prime rib sliders to name a few. The surface was usually really good from the bartenders during the week. It was an exceptionally busy. It is set in an old dimly lit building, but what isn't in Savannah. Overall a place I would recommend for an app and drink before dinner read more

Menu stated order chocolate lava cake 30 minutes ahead to allow for prep. What was served was a mediocre dry cold chocolate cupcake with chocolate sauce drizzled on it. Did not meet the basic definition of a lava cake. It was taken off the bill, no apology. All in all quite disappointing. Came for our anniversary, Quinton was the best server I have had anywhere in very long time. Despite it being his first day on the floor by himself he was extremely knowledgeable, and attentive. We were well taken care of by our gracious server and our meals were exceptional; especially mine with the Black Cod in an Asian Miso broth with julienned vegetables. Our appetizers came out before our drinks (we waited 30 minutes for drinks every time we ordered them) and then our waitress was unwelcoming and forgetful of everything we ordered. Waitress gave one of our drinks to another table and never realized it. My fiancee ordered the crunchy coconut shrimp for an entree but they brought her the appetizer version (probably because they have the same name). Every table around us received their drinks extremely late and were waiting for service for awhile. We completely understand if you're busy or stretched thin, but she never once apologized for anything. Manager was frantically running around to pick up the slack. We ate here for Christmas dinner. We had reservations and were seated on time. We were given their limited Christmas menu which had a 3 course dinner option for $69 per person. Luckily there were great options within each category so that wasn't a problem for us. The food did not disappoint, I'm glad we ate here for Christmas. My husband and I enjoyed the clam chowder, the lobster bisque was okay. My husband had the NY strip steak which he said was great. I had the seared Chilean sea bass which was really delicious, it came with lobster risotto which was phenomenal. For dessert we had the hot chocolate lava cake and bread pudding type cake (don't remember the name - see photo). Both were good but the lava cake was our favorite. My only complaint was that the Diet Coke was watered down, it looked like tea and tasted like water. The waitress tried to get me another glass but it was the same so she removed it from the bill. The service was good, very kind staff. If I return to Savannah I would definitely eat at Chart House again. Street parking off of River Street was pretty easy to find. read more

We booked our reservation at Chart House for 9 of us for my friend's birthday about 2 months in advance. We were finally seated 30 minutes after our reservation time, and the table was too small to fit us all. After we waited for them to reset the table, it was 45 minutes after our scheduled reservation time. The hostess was apologetic and said it was due to staffing and graduation weekend--- shouldn't matter when we had a standing reservation. The manager, AJ, was excellent and super attentive once we were seated. I can't say the same for the wait staff unfortunately. Food was mid for price point. Went to dinner table outside for my daughter graduation celebration and we had to ask for water several times. The food and drinks were very slow. Had an amazing dining experience on New Year's Day. Stayed in Savannah for 2 nights from our trip back home from the NC mountains and came here for the second year straight. It was busier this year but still wonderful service. Food and wine were great. Highly recommend the lobster bisque. Lobster tail and filet mignon were absolutely delicious.
