Service is always fantastic and food is delicious! Love the gas lanterns, reminds me of when I lived in Charleston

I don't know where to start. I arrived around 1pm on a Thursday, and was seated quickly. The server came and took my drink order while dropping off the menu. After some time I received my drink and put in my order. This is where things took a turn I was brought soup which was not the soup I ordered and within 2 minutes of getting my soup my entire came which was the filet with the vegetable medly. so I don't know who messed up here, my server for bringing the wrong soup. Someone at the pass firing the wrong entre or the cook who served the most over cooked veggies in the world. Oh, my server returned and I pointed out the wrong soup and she apologized, but come on tomato basil is red I ordered potato. The good. The steak was cooked perfectly for my taste a perfect rare even though I ordered med rare. And when I got the correct soup it was great. read more

My girlfriend and I visited on a Tuesday evening, and we were seated immediately. The ambiance was fantastic, and our server was excellent--friendly, attentive, and professional, without being intrusive. We started with two drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees: ribs and meatloaf. The appetizer arrived within five minutes, followed shortly by our drinks. We tried a peach bellini and a lemon drop martini; both were delicious, but the lemon drop martini was our favorite. The peach bellini was served frozen, which caught us by surprise, though it was still tasty. When it came to our entrees, we were both impressed. They arrived hot and with generous portions. We were so full by the end that we couldn't finish our plates--a pleasant surprise for a nice restaurant! We also wanted to try their bread pudding, which looked amazing, but we were simply too full. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu. Highly recommend! read more

My son and I had dinner here after his baseball tournament. The place was packed but got us a table in about 20 minutes. Serviced was good and the roasted half chicken was delicious. The best part of the meal was the house made mashed potatoes. read more

DEVOUR DEAL this deal for devour was amazing! Definitely come hungry! We split the spinach artichoke dip, each got the rub entree with a loaded baked potato and topped it off with the cheesecake for dessert. These portions are massive! Even the dessert we couldn't finish between two people. You will get your money worth on this deal which typically devour dishes are smaller portions. The waiter told us they keep the same size portions as they normally do. The ribs were perfectly crispy and fall off the bone! I typically get the hickory smoked burger but I'm glad I ventured out to the ribs. Highly recommend. I've also never had their desserts and the cheesecake was divine. The food was delicious, but the service for 4 people on a Sunday early evening was TERRIBLE. 45 mins to get a side salad?! 1 hr to get our entrees?!! and three parties who were seated in the same area AFTER we were got served before we did. Oh, was there a large party in the area? Yes but OTHER patrons who arrived after us STILL GOT SERVED before we did. Disappointing especially since it was my daughter's birthday. read more

We walked right past the front door...we were seated right away on a Friday night. Inside looks nice. Apparently, Friday night is fish night so it seems every other table have fish. Our waiter was very attentive to us and made sure we were taken care of. Our food was quite delicious. The only issue I had was the smell of fish so next time we will not come on Friday night. Hands down, Charleston's is probably one of the best restaurants in the area. I have never had a bad meal or experience while eating there.

We had a family dinner here, 8 adults and a toddler. It was a very busy Saturday night. However, the service and food were very good!

Came here to try these infamous croissants , which were decent. Not something you expect at Americana kind of restaurant. We went around lunchtime on a Monday. Not too many patrons, but there was a huge birthday happening in one of the corners. Got the loaded baked potato soup. Flavor was great and overloaded with potatoes. Ordered the fish sandwich for my entree - very bland. The fries were amazing! Perfectly crisp outside and fluffy inside. Friend ordered the chicken and avocado club, which she enjoyed. Only qualm was that the bottom was very moist so the sandwich broke apart quickly. Service was fair. Not quite present. I think they only had 2 servers for the lunch rush? Prices were on the high side for the quality you get. read more

One of my favorite childhood restaurants. I've been to this location several times. They have remained consistent.

I kinda like the Castleton location a little more then here. The young man at the host stand could not have been less engaging. He was leaning on the wall and didn't show even a minuscule amount of enthusiasm for his job. I've done the hosting gig. It can be boring but you can still act remotely enthusiastic. We got a booth in the bar. I think this may have been our first time in the bar. It was warm, I was afraid it was going to be cold by a window. Our server was good. He got our drinks and refills and checked back after we got our food. We both pretty much got the same meal. Filet Medallions with Baked potato and Salad. Their Caesar Dressing is different than most but still good. The filet was very tender and cooked well. Baked potato was loaded with toppings and didn't need to ask for more. Stopped buying for a late lunch on Saturday, I was thinking of this place as a sports bar by its location (just off 31, in front of a strip mall), but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found I had the blackened chicken avocado club. A very well done sandwich. Flavors balanced well, a good crisp to the bacon, a healthy amount of sprouts, and the blackened spices did not overwhelm the sandwich The service saw very attentive, even offering a soda to go I do think I will return, and check out some of their other offerings read more

What went well? Delicious food, fantastic service...moderately priced. What's not to love about Charleston's!?!?!

I am beyond infuriated by my dinner experience tonight. Yes I know today is Mother's Day and I know they were slammed all day. I made reservations and expected for them to be unbelievably busy. Believe me I understand I am a pastry chef and worked a 13 hour shift today before coming for dinner. The service was subpar at best. Our waitress pretty much ignored us till she realized her tip was in danger. She took our drink order then brought them out one at a time and had to be reminded that we didn't have all of them. When my salad arrived it had no dressing. The guy who brought it out left so fast I wasn't able to tell him I had no dressing. I sat there for almost 10 mins before our waitress came back to see how things were. When I told her I didn't have dressing she didn't apologize she went on same tangent about how she always puts it on the side because some people don't want it on the salad. I said ok that's fine but it's not on the side. I have none. She said nothing just walked away. I didn't get dressing till my entree arrived. My food wasn't hot. It was barely warm. My steak was dry and chewy and had no flavor. She also didn't bring my side of mushrooms. Again it was another 10 mins before she came to check on us and again no apology just turned around and left. When she finally brought them out they were ice cold. My Mother ordered a dish that was too spicy for her to eat. Nothing in the description said it was spicy or that it had red pepper flakes in it. If it had she wouldn't have ordered it. My daughter ordered a pork chop that was dried out and chewy and difficult to cut. The waitress waited till we were pretty much fed up and done, just sitting there with almost full plates not eating to come and bring the bill. When she saw we hadn't eaten very much she all of a sudden wanted to engage us and be super friendly and try to get us to order dessert. When I said no we definitely do not want dessert, she stopped with the over the top friendly demeanor and said oh were you not happy? I said no not at all and told her why. She didn't apologize, in fact she didn't even acknowledge what I said. She simply said I hope you have a good night and Happy Mother's Day. For what I paid for this meal the food should have been excellent and the service should have been exceptional. This has nothing to do with them being busy and everything to do with being a poor server. Like I said I work in this industry and know first hand how things go and how the kitchen runs. I understand wait times and all that. I don't have a problem with that. I do however have a problem with bad service and food that is quite frankly not good for being on the pricey side. I will say that my Mother loved the sweet tea. It was the only good thing we had tonight. I will never come here again. read more

Quick friendly service with management check-ins to ensure we had everything needed. Our food was delivered shortly after ordered with minimal wait time. The waiter was prompt in clearing our table in prep for delivery of our entrees and was great at keeping our water topped off. Came in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night and glad we did. The dining area is a bit dark, but good for atmosphere. Our server, Marc, was outstanding, a real pro. You forget how good service at a restaurant can be until you have someone like Marc. Our food was excellent as well. I ordered the Catfish Platter ($24), which came with 3 generous pieces of lightly breaded and fried fish along with 2 sides. I chose to go with the burgundy mushrooms and the fried okra. The mushrooms were fantastic, soaking in a bowl. I could probably just eat those and be more than satisfied. There were a decent number of the okra as well. They were fried well also, although I must admit a few of them were a bit chewy. Overall, both very good. Because there were so much of each side, I was only able to eat one of my pieces of catfish, so I boxed the rest for lunch the next day. Would definitely order it again, although I might substitute the carrots or the mashed potatoes for the okra. read more

This restaurant is a mainstay for Carmel/Westfield. My husband and I enjoy sitting in the bar area the most. Don't let the location in the middle of a parking lot scare you away. The service, food and inside are worth coming in. It is always clean and welcoming. We had the champagne chicken salad and clam chowder soup along with some beverages from the bar. This was supposed to be chicken piccata with vegetable medley. There were tiny pieces of chicken. Most likely one-half of a breast. The carrots, although I did not order, were hard as rocks. My husband's French fries, in his order, were like they had been microwaved. Charleston's has kept pricing to Covid levels. Their prices are too much. The girl that brought out the food, (carry out) never came back with our change, so she got a nice tip. This used to be our favorite restaurant. We went there a couple of times a month. I'm sad to say that we will be finding a new favorite restaurant. The quality of food has gone downhill and the waitstaff is not as good as it once was. read more
