Cecco's Caesar and Caprese salad were the best. Part of our party got lost but Cecco's incredibly kind team seated us right away. Party of four with four dogs on a hot sunny weekend afternoon and got us ice teas fast. Thank you for making our surprise discovery of Solvang, California so delightful!

Came early on Saturday. Opens at 12. They sat us early and brought drinks. Ordered bruschetta and a Pizza with pesto and goat cheese. Both were very good. Very friendly, fast service and good food. What else do you need?

Alejandro's service was amazing! Food is a bit pricey for what it is. Chicken Alfredo was a 7/10 and the Turkey Panini was a solid 8/10. The ambiance is casual, nice sitting area outside. We noticed the pricing that's listed outside is different from the original menu, couple dollars more.

Cecco Ristorante is conveniently located right next to Solvang Park. After watching the holiday synchronized musical light show at the downtown park, we stepped over to Cecco's for dinner. There was a line to get in; the food arrived fairly quickly after ordering. One has a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Since it was a relatively nice evening, we sat outside on the covered patio. There are patio heaters that kept any chill at bay. Our server was attentive and engaging. She took our drink and appetizer orders and returned shortly after for our main selections. For the appetizer, we started with an order of their octopus. It was attractively served with small pools of salsa verde and EVOO, and topped with a few sprigs of fresh oregano. It was quite good, with a nice char and flavor. There is a charge for bread service, however we did not order any as we decided to order a wood fired pizza as an entrée. For our entrées, we ordered the Black Cod and a Margherita pizza. The Black Cod was miso marinated and served over ginger risotto and braised cabbage. It was cooked to perfection. Sadly, the Margherita pizza was a basic pizza-chain style cheese pizza covered in shredded mozzarella instead of being topped with pieces of ovalini mozzarella cheese. The pizza was finished with halved cherry tomatoes. The crust was very thin and lacking. Overall, the pizza was disappointing. We enjoyed dining al fresco on their patio.

Perfect, straight from the oven bread.

Thursday, 12-19-2024: In between watching the spectacular synchronized musical light show at Solvang Park we realized we were hungry. This eatery was conveniently close by. We were seated outdoors right away by a lovely, friendly & outgoing blonde hostess. She asked if we wanted the heaters on but it really wasn't that cold plus I tend to run very warm (thanks hot flashes!). Our young server, Ava, came over to introduce herself. She was very cordial, attentive, and engaging. We first ordered watermelon Italian sodas that were refreshing and tasty. Then the bread was brought out straight from the oven with the flavorful EVOO dipping sauce. Yum! My Eggplant Parmigiana and hubby's Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo came out piping hot. Wow! These dishes were so flavorsome! The Pomodoro sauce was a winner! This is the best Eggplant Parmigiana dish I have ever eaten. Hubby was saying the same about his meal, as well! It was so filling and delectable! These entrees were certainly worth the money! As the evening wore on a cold wind blew in, which required the use of several heaters! The staff ensured we were comfortable, which we appreciated. This was a great first experience and hope they're still here when we return.

Incredible service from the waitress, bus boys, to the owner. Located in the heart of Solvang, Cecco provides authentic Italian food made with love and care. For a party of two, we each ordered the Arnold Palmer (made with fresh lemonade) along with the chicken Caesar salad - top three Caesar salad I've had - as well as the Bianca pizza (mozzarella, ricotta, artichoke, garlic, red onion, and baby arugula). The pizza was flavorful with the combination of all the toppings but not one overpowered the other. Highly recommend sitting in the outside patio to take in the ambiance and enjoy the weather.

Janice is a peach! Service is amazing and food is delicious. Definitely authentic Italian food. Choice of indoor or outdoor option with a beautiful surrounding and design. 10/10 would recommend.

One of my favorite places to eat when visiting Solvang, love their pizza and food is always fresh , we also enjoyed our lunch hour especially because of having such a fun and caring waitress. Her name is Yessenia . She was fast and in accommodating few tables at once .

Absolutely amazing dining experience at this quaint Italian restaurant in the heart of Solvang, California. David the owner was personable and hospitable, and even provided a complementary salmon platter as an appetizer. We will definitely be back in a big shout out to his staff who was attentive polite and had a servant attitude.

We have eaten here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is of the highest quality and tastes amazing. The only thing that might be better than the food is the friendly service you get. Highly recommend it.

A great lunch spot in Solvang. We were looking for something other than brunch and this popped up. The place looked amazing and we decided to stop. They have wonderful outdoor dining and we were seated quickly. Ordered a basket of bread (no complimentary bread here) and it came out warm and yum. The olive oil dip that it came with was great too. We also got wine and fresh lemonade. The lemonade was super delicious. Then we ordered a Gurlomi pizza, a pesto pasta and a pomodoro pasta. They all were served nice and fresh, topped with herbs that grew right by the restaurant. The pomodoro sauce was yum and so was the pesto. However, the pizza stole the show. Perfectly crisp yet soft inside, cheese and veggies to our liking. The kids and adults all enjoyed the meal and would definitely recommend this one. I'd go back every time I'm in Solvang for sure!

I would never book an event at this venue. First, there are two separate rooms connected by a hallway. Apparently the host of the event was not notified there was another party going on in the backroom. This normally wouldn't have been a problem except the food from the kitchen had to be brought through our party. Not enjoyable when we are all starving and the food keeps being brought through our room to another party instead of to ours. Unfortunately, it gets worse: I put in a simple order for my kids: 2 buttered spaghetti dishes. The head waitress put the order in on the computer (at least that's what it looked like). Ok so 10 minutes go by and still no spaghetti. My kids are starving so I ask nicely about the spaghetti and the waitress brushes me off and says it's on the way. What made me really mad was when another kid received his ravioli that was ordered 10 minutes after my order. And we still didn't have our spaghetti! At that point I was pretty upset so I asked the waittess if the pasta was being made because an order after me just came through. Instead of admitting she forgot my order (which was obvious) the waitress gaslighted me and said our orders were placed at the same time. I was with the other person who ordered the ravioli and he definitely put his order in well after mine. After about 30+ minutes my kids just ate the bread and gave up. The spaghetti finally came out and no one touched it. The waitress didn't apologize for the wait or anything. She just placed the spaghetti on the table and walked away. I've never been gaslit by a waitress in my life. Worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. I will never come back here again.

We started with delicious cold, crisp martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives and a bowl of water for our pup. Our server (Chelsea B?) was so fun and friendly! We then had maybe the best wedge salad we've ever had! I think the lettuce was cut to, but not thru, the base, and opened up, with toppings inside. Roasted beet cubes, bacon, blue cheese and shallots, plus cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg quarters and fried shallots garnish. It was incredible. I think they should call it "More than a Wedge." We also had the Ahi crudo, which had a delicious sauce and thinly sliced peppers. I wasn't too hungry, so had the French onion soup as my main course. So, it definitely didn't taste anything like French onion soup! It looked like it, and it was definitely cooked down onions but the flavor wasn't anything like I'd expect. However, it was really delicious and satisfied my craving for something warm & cheesy. So if you go in knowing that, I think you'll enjoy it. I don't like lamb, so my husband often gets it when we go out. When he took his first bite, I could tell he enjoyed it. He said it was some of the best lamb he's had and he's had a lot! It's à la carte, but did come with a tiny bit of salad and a roasted pepper which he thought was perfect. We ordered the Kids Bolognese Pasta which our daughter loved - I wish my husband and I could have said the same thing about what we ordered. I did enjoy the French Onion Soup the best, but we have made much better artichokes at home and the skirt steak was barely seasoned. In fact, I professionally moonlight as Historian specializing in medieval English history! This means that I am a sucker for anything reminding of the time period; making the Santa Barbara-adjacent Danish city of Solvang right up my alley with its medieval storybook streets/architecture. Among the many spots in Solvang that make my heart go pitter-patter is The Good Life: a cellar wine/ale/tavern- bar. Grab your favorite wench and come along to grab a pint... Stroll down Mission Drive in the famous Danish city of Solvang and you will be delighted to venture upon The Good Life that appears to pop out of a medieval history book with exposed wooden beans, plaster exterior walls and an entrance that resides at basement level (they don't call it a cellar bar for nothing!). Owned by a husband-wife team with extensive hospitality and restaurant experience under their belts in 2012; the charm of The Good Life is instantaneous and perfect for a gal like me obsessed with this sort of thing. Prepare to be instantly transported into the 15th century! Once you cross the threshold of The Good Life, the Shakesperean feel continues but is also modernized with a glowing fireplace, plush arm chairs and high bar tables (plus bar seating) and floor to ceiling wine racks. The Good Life is a perfect ratio of Solvang tradition with hints of romance making it ideal for a casual beverage, tourist pop-in or memorable date night drink. The latter is exactly how my boyfriend and I happened to come across The Good Life as we were visiting Solvang from Los Angeles for the city's Christmas-time Julefest. We had just spent the evening making holiday memories among the city's Christmas trees, twinkling lights and sugary delights. Post Danish-dinner, we decided to wrap up our forever-Solvang memory with a drink at The Good Life. We were immediately greeted by the male manning The Good Life without any attitude or distaste towards us for coming in as he was preparing to close for the evening. If he was upset with us in any way - he certainly didn't show it! The Good Life features an amazing menu of local and international wines, beers, ales, meads, ciders, and ports that make The Good Life feel fancy-schmancy and artisan; but also, neighborhood friendly for your favorite hipster or friend next door. My boyfriend and I shared a cider (I wish I remembered the specific one but alas my memory evades me) while enjoying the atmosphere of warmth at The Good Life. Other customers sat in the plush chairs with notepads and tarot cards, an older couple arrived to cap off the evening and I enjoyed the view of my boyfriend in a medieval-Danish inspired cellar bar. The Good Life is standout at accommodating to all customers and making sure no one feels out of place. A bountiful tip as important as the bosom of a medieval bar wench: the bathroom at The Good Life is labeled as 'Office'. Don't worry, you won't walk in on someone preparing accounting books and the only business happening behind this door involves you and your private matters. The Good Life is delightful and unique but doesn't just stop there: it also differentiates itself with a truly impressive alcohol selection that allows you to be introduced to local, national, Danish and international bevies you have surely not tried prior. The Good Life is recommended for a drink on your next trip to the tourist-friendly city of Solvang. Even if you aren't pretending to be in medieval times...
