I still remember buying butter cookies at the Copenhagen airport, and I've been craving that same style ever since, especially because there aren't many places near me in my area that sell them freshly made. I randomly came across Danish Village Bakery and found a tub of assorted cookies for around $20. The lady working inside helped me right away and answered my questions about which items were the most popular and whether the cookies were freshly made. She was friendly and made the visit quick and easy. You can buy Danish cookies at regular grocery stores, but these tasted completely different. They were softer, fresher, and had that rich, buttery flavor that packaged cookies are usually missing. They were even better than the airport cookies I remembered! The bakery itself had a cute, homey, old-fashioned atmosphere, and there was plenty of free parking nearby. I'm really glad I stopped in because the cookies ended up being one of my favorite treats from the trip. I would definitely return for another tub the next time I'm in town.
