There are a lot of Cava locations around San Antonio, but this location has to be one of my favorites! All the workers are super nice and their scoops are very generous. It usually lasts me two meals, and if you ask for more scoops, they are definitely not shy with it. Cava has been one of my go-to places ever since I started coming to this location! My favorite thing to get here is build your own bowl. I usually get half saffron rice with romaine lettuce (as the base) with chicken. I put most of the toppings on there for a savory, spicy, and refreshing meal! For the dips, I usually get the regular hummus, red pepper hummus, and harissa. The harissa makes your bowl a little spicer, which I enjoy. I've also tried the crazy feta, but I found that it overpowered the bowl with feta-flavor, because you also have the option to get feta as a topping. Some of my favorite toppings to get are the pita crisps, pickled onions, and the fire roasted corn! I highly recommend you to get all the toppings, since there is no additional charge and they are all very delicious. The tomato+cucumber/tomato+onion has a limey sauce on it that makes it tangy and sweet at the same time! For the dressing, the Skhug (which is a little spicer) and the garlic dressing are my go to's! Crunchy grilled chicken. Every. Single. Time. The chicken is so nasty, the flavor is good but it's all cartilage and fat. It's disappointing because everything else is delicious. Every time I order from here I get a grisly crunchy piece of chicken and it ruins my appetite. Can't even finish my bowl bc it's so gross. the steak bowl was good. the pita bread however was surprisingly INSIDE the bowl which i've never seen anyone do due to how soggy it can get. now i don't want to act like a "karen" but i came to pick up my order at 3:40 when the estimated time was 3:45 , i waited til 3:45 and realized my order wasn't in the stand, so i went up to these people at 3:45 & i realized the workers were BARELY making my order in the back. i don't know why i had to wait those extra five minutes but that could have been easily avoided if they had started on it the moment i placed it. again i don't want to be a "karen" but sometimes that's just how it is. also, i requested for utensils and they didn't give me any. this is not the best CAVA to go to in san antonio. i think going to the one on the RIM will be go to now. read more

SO DISAPPOINTED today. I have a serious heart condition & recently discovered Cava for healthy eating. This is my 3rd time in a week because the first 2x were so awesome. In fact, the 2nd time, I brought my husband, who NOW, also loves it. I got my usual build your own bowl and THIS BOWL IS SO LIGHT & ANOREXIC, I'm borderline angry. I walked through the line instead of ordering to go and it has made a difference it certainly shouldn't. The bowl was the skimpiest pre-tax $10.35 I've ever spent. I had to replace my rock hard falafel because I got the last ones, yet the replacements were scrumptious as always. That's great although I feel like the young lady who served them to me, stoned-faced and all, should've notice how dark, dried out & hard they were so I wouldn't need to ask for replacements. I also asked for a drink and instead of asking me what size, she placed a small cup on the counter. When I asked for the bigger cup, she just stared blankly at me for a sec and proceeded to help the next customer. I'll still likely be back because I do so love the flavor profiles and the service is usually great. I will just return to order carry out. Cava usually has good food but lately I've noticed that they have been reducing portions on their orders. Like any other Cava chain, the food tastes fine. However if you ever try to order ahead on-line, they will scam you with the portioning (especially protein) as opposed to when you get your item in-store. We once made a very large group order and all of us ordered double chicken, and received bowls with less than a regular portion of chicken. The Cava's in La Cantera or East Basse do not do this. It feels not very legal to be honest but a big corporation does not care. Try another location! read more

Today I placed an order online and made payment online to pick up lunch. Today is February 19th and I had it ordered for pick up by 1PM. When I got to the store, Alazia the manager, assisted me. I went to the register, and they said they did not receive my order. But they did not have a problem taking my money. I asked for a refund and they said they couldn't give it to me. I am really frustrated because she was being extremely rude and wouldn't give me a refund. I never raised my voice to her and at the end I said they stole my money. Alazia called me a "Fucking Bitch" as I walked out the door, she caused a scene and embarrased me. As a manager, that was extremely unprofessional and very uncalled for. I am still shaking from this situation. This individual should not be managing any stores because she is not kind to her customers. I eat Cava pretty regularly and have never had a problem with the customer service but I'm honestly shocked with how I was treated today. We came into the restaurant on 11/18 around 6:30/7 and it wasn't busy at all but the girl in a yellow beanie with glasses and her hair tucked in it made me feel like I was back in school getting in trouble with the teacher just for ordering my food. Maybe she was having a bad day because we were being just as friendly as we always are when ordering food (I've worked in customer service so I totally get it), but she had such a bad attitude for no reason. She didn't ask if I wanted any sauce before checking out so I said "oh sorry can I have (whatever sauce) too" and threw the sauce around, didn't ask if we had a loyalty account before ringing everything up, so I tried to scan it and she was rude about that too... I had an award and she rudely asked if I wanted to use it so I said "yes please" and she got all mad and applied it and asked if I wanted a receipt so I said no and kind of stood there with a shocked look on my face because I was so confused... so then she went and gossiped with her coworkers after. This place was once a Zoe's Kitchen. We love cava typically, but this has to be the dumpiest we've been to. Also the staff was rude and untruthful when asked questions about available products for the visit. The drink area was not clean and the silverware was not clean. We also found multiple bones in our food while eating, both chicken and lamb. We will not be back to this location. read more

It was very very tasty. This was my first time here. There were many selections and the food was of great quality. The only thing I would comment is that it felt a little disorganized during my first visit at the Heubner location. It was like 5pm and there were items that weren't replenished where I had to wait a few extra minutes for my food. Not an issue just seemed a little weird for a Saturday mid evening. I was referred to someone through e-mail and after e-mailing back and forth, providing a photo after a month, nothing has been resolved. First, I want to say I have been coming to this location now for a couple of years. The food has always been delicious and usually the service is good and the staff is very friendly. I don't know what C team they had scheduled for last night but the service was horrible. I placed an order online around 7:50 PM. I was just getting off of a 13 hour nursing shift and I wanted to be able to walk in maybe wait a few minutes for my pick up order and get home and eat. I get there at 8:07 and yes, I will say they were very busy. My order is not ready yet, so I stand and wait with a few other people who are also waiting for their to go order. After waiting for maybe 10 to 15 minutes and other people asking me if I ordered online and how long I have been waiting, I walked up to the cashier and told her that I was just checking on my to go order. She very rudely tells me we only have one person working on to go orders so you're gonna have to wait. OK I go and I stand by the to go shelves and I continue waiting. The girl who is supposed the only person working on our to go orders, comes out and starts telling a few people that they are out of basmati, rice, and what substitute would they like. I also had ordered basmati rice with my order, but yet she doesn't come and ask me if I want a substitute. One of the men who I assume has been waiting, forever gets upset and asks her to speak with a manager. She pointed to a young kid who is cleaning up the drink area who should be in line taking orders since they're so busy, and says very rudely to him he's the manager you can talk to him and walks away. The manager completely ignores the situation and goes back into the kitchen doing who knows what, but not helping serve food. I sit there for maybe another 15 minutes and I asked the girl who supposed to be working on the to go orders, I'm just wondering if you are working on my order yet? She very rudely tells me, No I'm not working on your order, maybe they're working it on it in the back but you're gonna have to wait. So I'm getting super irritated by this point, but I keep telling myself they're busy just be patient. I know what it's like to work with very rude patients but I also know customer service and that's not happening right now. After everybody who's waiting for to go orders, get their orders and I'm still sitting there I walked back up to the counter and I asked the cashier if I could please get a refund because I don't want to wait for my food anymore. The girl who is supposed to be working on my order looks up from doing whatever she's doing and very rudely says we don't give refunds here. You're gonna have to go online and get it. I told her well is my food almost ready because I have now been waiting for 40 minutes for something that I ordered online over an hour ago. The cashier looks at me and says she's the only one working on the to go orders. I state everybody else who has been waiting who has come in before and after me have all gotten their food and again I've been waiting for 40 minutes so I would just like a refund. Again, she tells me go online and you can get your refund , or I'll be done with your food here in a little bit. I turned around and walked off. I was completely over the cashier and her lack of customer service, and the girl preparing the to go orders with absolutely no social skills. She is obviously not meant for a job that requires any kind of pressure. I will never go back to this Cava again. There are plenty of other Cavas in San Antonio that I have been too with great customer service and absolutely delicious and fresh food. I will say the online customer service for a refund was amazing. I sent an email last night. I got a response within a few minutes and I had my refund by this morning. So again, the food is delicious. Most of the time their customer service is amazing, but not at the Cava at The Strand. If you live around this area or are driving by, it's worth your time and gas money to go to a different location. read more
