Chicken bites - YUM!
Elizabeth G.

This place is top tier - food 10/10, service 10/10, vibes 10/10! Was looking for a good post workout meal, and not only did we get that, but the service was exceptional (fast and friendly). We got the chicken bowl and it was full of flavor! I've never finished something so quick lol. We also tried the chicken bites which were also SPECTACULAR! This our new go to!

GASSSSS!!! This is some of the best food I've had here. Amazing service and even better eats. We ordered the chicken bowl and chicken bites as our meal -- the chicken was marinated perfectly, veggies, and fries were super fresh. We also ordered hummus and pita chips, which were also great. 10/10 will recommend to anyone and will be back!

This was my first time eating at " The Pita Chick", my question is, why did I wait so long !! The Rita Check is ran by a sister brother team . Rhena ( The Pita Chick ) came out and greeted us . She is super sweet she gave us complimentary, homemade pita chips, and hummus everything , was just amazing . My husband ordered one chicken Shawarma, a steak Shawarma pita wrap . I ordered the steak Shawarma combo, which comes with hummus, and tabbouleh salad . You can choose your 2 sides , those are the 2 that I chose . What a hidden little gem . I recommend going out & trying out this amazing food truck . WOW !!!

Food was delicious my favorite was the chicken bowl. The service amazing, this was our first time and she was very patient with us. The food truck is located in The Dog Ice house, great vibe, music and drinks.

Spicy chicken wrap

Food is ALWAYS fresh and hot. Shes so nice, it was my first time eating a pita , she guided me through the menu, explained items that were foreign to me.

So good! All of it. I usually only get gyro meat at most places but her chicken is soooo good! So I get both. The garlic sauce is amazing!

We'd seen this truck out a few times, and after following them on IG, and seeing when they're there, we decided to give them a try. We tried a chicken shawarma plate, a steak shawarma wrap and chicken shawarma fries. I liked the plate for the flavor of the chicken and the way it tasted with the perfectly cooked rice. The meats both had really great flavor. The spices and citrus completed them nicely. The wrap was good, and the added crunchy and more acidic toppings complimented it well. I was slightly disappointed in the shawarma fries - they didn't quite hit the spot for me. I'm typically a crispy fry girl and these were really soft. Also, I wished they had some of the same toppings as the steak wrap did, or spicy sauce, because they seemed overly heavy and could have used the acidity to kind of cut through it all. Reading other reviews afterward made me wish I'd asked for the spicy sauce and kind of sad they didn't offer or suggest it while we were there. We both love a good added heat to our food. The prices sure did add up quickly here tho. Our total came to $48, for those three things and a can of Coke. I don't mind paying for good food, but this was a bit overpriced for me. *If/when I were to give them a try again, I think it'd order the plate, and with both meats, and ask for a side of spicy sauce.

My husband made our dinner reservation six weeks ago, for a post-graduation family celebration, and…read morehe chose perfectly! Our twelve guests ranged in age from 14-79 years, and everyone had a wonderful experience. We began with waters for the table, soft drinks, and cocktails/mocktails (Man Walks into a Bar, Amba No. 5, Don Alberto, Green Shug Collins). Due to our large party, we had booked a chef's tasting experience, which was spectacular. The appetizers were plentiful, flavorful, and unique. Our server, Anissa, did a wonderful job of explaining each dish-- its components, highlights, even suggesting that after finishing the beef dumplings, we stir the oil and yogurt together for an amazing pita dipping sauce. Our meal included four meats-- actually five, considering an off menu chef's creation for our pescatarian guest. It was such an immersive experience, I never took out my phone to capture photos of the food (or our group, sadly). Three desserts topped off the evening. When (not if) we return, we'll certainly request Anissa again. She made the evening a complete delight, even bringing out celebratory candles for our honored guests.

Bib Gourmand? Went after reading all the rave reviews,…read moreespecially about the Table of Joy tasting menu. All the reviews highlight the creativity, the fresh take on Mediterranean cuisine. So we went for the $65 pp Table of Joy. Everything was tasty, the pita bread served blazing hot is a stand out. Our first course options were hummus and Hungarian feta with Aleppo pepper. Both very tasty but not terribly creative choices I thought. Then a bean salad arrived. Again tasted very nice, a nice cold bean salad. Saffron chicken skewer and a pork souvlaki skewer. Pork was quite tough, although a very nice char. Chicken was tender and the orzo pasta was very interesting. Dessert was chocolate pudding with some edible flowers, dill, sesame seed and small cookies crumbles on top. Yes, it all tasted very good. Service attentive. Nice ambiance. However I was expecting more for our $200 ( 2 Table of Joy, 2 beers and a Turkish coffee). Not more food, the portions were not an issue, but something more creative. Something that would change my impression of Mediterranean cuisine. I can get hummus, feta & skewers at any number of much more reasonably priced Mediterranean restaurants. Even taking into account 'The Pearl mark up', in the end I can't say I'm impressed. Disappointed we spent that much money. Can't recommend this to friends or family.

Some restaurants feed you. Tripoli's transports you. From…read morethe moment you walk in, the space does something to you -- warm lighting, tufted banquettes, burgundy velvet chairs with gold legs, and a ceiling panel with intricate geometric lattice work straight out of a Moroccan riad. It doesn't feel like a strip mall restaurant. It feels intentional. The pastry case alone deserves its own review. Piped butter cookies, rose-dotted squares dusted with cardamom, delicate filled rolls -- it's the kind of display that makes you order dessert before you've even sat down. And then the food. The chicken shawarma bowl is not playing around -- seasoned chicken, kalamata olives, crumbled feta, creamy garlic sauce over a bed of greens, finished with cracked pepper. Every bite is layered and bold. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid-fork and just appreciate it. What sets Tripoli's apart isn't just the food or the ambiance. It's that the whole experience feels curated. Like someone who actually loves this culture built this place and meant every single detail. San Antonio has been sleeping on this gem. Wake up!!

I had a hard time walking out without calling for the manager or owner. I would like to start my…read morepost with the positive so here it goes. The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood. Guess we will have to continue driving further into the city to other Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants that have better food and service.
