A kids meal with chicken, rice, pita bread

My family visited Cava-downtown Richmond...VCU area. Etheria prepared our meal. She treated us like royalty. She suggested items. She explained every single thing that was there to serve including the the type of drinks. She gave suggestions if you were trying to lower your calories. She made accommodations for certain things that they didn't have because it was almost closing time when we came in. This young lady is an excellent server/cashier/customer service rep. Great representation of herself and Cava. I probably spelled her name incorrectly but when you go there ask for her she's great and patient. As I said when we came in it was almost closing time and it was raining. She was very pleasant, answered all questions. I definitely appreciate her patience, time and expertise on the items in the store.

Blaine is always quick and very pleasant when I come here .. normally he serves me. I like the fact he keeps fresh food , the line moving , and very social with customers ! I have had nothing but good experiences at this location and the service is still A1. I truly appreciate coming to an environment that not only feels good but serves delicious food & CAVA IS THAT !! Thanks again Blaine , you and your team never disappoint

the food was good the service was good but the location can be a little crazy in the middle of downtown. very limited parking.

    We don't skip Cava Mondays!

Great spot on the VCU campus to grab a quick lunch or dinner! If you've never had Cava before, think of it as a Mediterranean style Chipotle. You can choose from their pre-selected menu options or you can create your own bowl or pita. There are quite a few options for each section as you go down the line, so it can be a little overwhelming the first time you try it out, but don't be afraid to ask questions! The staff at this location is usually friendly and knowledgeable and can make could recommendations for first-timers. They also offer kids meals, a few pre-packaged desserts and a wide variety of drink options. The majority of the seating is upstairs at this location, which also includes a rooftop deck that is great to take advantage of on those gorgeous sunny days! The only major drawback to this location is the parking. There is a small parking lot in front, but it is shared between Cava, Panera & Chipotle. The spaces are pretty narrow too. There is street parking on Grace Street as well. I would also advise ordering in person at this location. I've ordered delivery as well as order ahead for pick up and have had orders be incorrect multiple times. I think they get rushed as pick up/delivery is utilized heavily at this location and they get a little rushed and don't pay attention all the time. But customer service is always good about taking care of things if you email them and let them know what happened!

If they aren't part of the decor, it was a treat nonetheless. We stepped inside from the rain with a parking spot very near the door. I snapped a pic on the way in to capture it's essence. We risked another walk-in with no reservations, and we snagged two prime end seats on the communal table. There were two open seats at the bar as well; might come in handy some other rainy Thursday night. The server, Murphy M., judging by the receipt, who helped my partner and I with our order, was a gracious host and incredibly well-practiced. It was a master class in serving, made effortless by him. He could not have been more accommodating, as we saw him appear inevitably at the exact right moments. Our server offered us bread and oil before the appetizer. The bread here is made fresh daily. It was so soft, I could not tell the difference from store bought. The food was exquisitely well prepared, the chefs and kitchen staff are immensely skilled. The appetizer was presented to us within a relatively short amount of time. We had time for a short discussion before the it arrived. The Tiropita was described as "four pieces of heaven." Accurate. The phyllo was thin and crisp, and the feta was creamy and delicious. I was careful not to bite too hard and ruin my pants. I had the Kotopoulo, which is a feta-brined oven-baked chicken with lemon and herbs served with lemon potatoes. The dish was cooked to perfection. The cooked potatoes were exactly as I like them, soft yet held their shape. It was an excellent meal, if a bit unwieldy (it's like half a rotisserie chicken, basically). My partner had the Hilopites, an egg noodle dish with giant beans, pine nuts, kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, and feta, in a creamy, savory sauce that I couldn't begin to describe with mere words. The meals were both stunning, made unclear by my disastrous photography. All that being said, I did not really enjoy my meal as I was expecting. Maybe it's me, maybe it's today, or maybe the flavors simply weren't what I am accustomed to with the dozens of Greek restaurants from my past. I'm uncertain, and that's okay sometimes. Either way, it was a fantastic experience, and I will dine here again.

I especially love their creativity with the menu - the specials are always something new and delicious, and the main apps (who knew strawberry pesto was a thing?) and entrees never disappoint. Katie, our server who was also working the bar, was great. She was friendly, very attentive, and gave very good recommendations. I had to try the orecchiette alla campagna which had a lot of raves. Yes, they were right! Delicious, very creamy and flavorful. The shrimp santorini was also great. Flavorful and the shrimps were cooked perfectly. Both were very filling. Galaktabouriko was fine. It was a milk custard wrapped in phyllo that was baked and soaked in honey. The baklava was fine as well. Texture was good and not too sweet. The men's room was very clean and smelled so pleasant. Would definitely come back!

While I had visited Uliveto once during its opening, after tonight, I can confidently say it won't be my last visit! The Uliveto Paloma cocktail was a delightful and refreshing surprise. Every dish, from the bread to the pasta, was simply exquisite. For appetizers, we savored the bruschetta, which featured the freshest, most flavorful tomatoes; the calamari, which was nothing short of fantastic; and the crab fingers, which I didn't sample myself but my friends couldn't stop raving about (as you can see in the photo!). For our main courses, we indulged in the Limone Pasta, the Amatriciana Pasta, and a steak served with mashed potatoes that was absolutely divine. None of us managed to finish our entrees, and we were too full for dessert. However, here's a tip for your next visit: consider ordering 2-3 appetizers, share a main dish, and definitely save room for dessert!
