    Greens and grain bowl
    Mitch S.

Cava always hits. I think the best option is the green and grain bowl which is the perfect combination of rice and lettuce (arugula is my favorite). The honey chicken is my favorite protein to order. And the tzatziki, feta, and hummus are easily the three best dips to include in a bowl. In terms of portion I am always pleased with the size. I think they switched up the pita. You used to get one pita slice that was warm and soft. Now you get 5-6 large pita crisp like chips to dip in the bowl. They were extra salty but good. Not sure if they are extra cost, it did seem a bit pricier than usual. Nonetheless, a solid lunch option.

Sometimes fast casual is the only realistic option for dinner. For that reason I'm overjoyed that McLean has CAVA now! My husband and I both indulged in chicken grain bowls and both devoured them. I love the Mediterranean concept, the spreads and various toppings are delicious and really enhance the dish. We had a great experience, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was very clean. P.S. Don't forget to ask for complimentary pita bread to accompany your bowl!

I came to this location for the very first time tonight right around 6:30pm. My guess is that there were about four other groups of people already seated and enjoying their meal. I decided to maintain my healthy decorum today, so I went for the Greek salad with grilled chicken. This thing included all kinds of wonderful ingredients like humus, kalomato olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. It took literally seconds for the three employees behind the counter eto prepare a the salad, and soon enough I was seated and eating the way that I should! It tasted wonderful. My only complaint about my visit here tonight was that the air conditioner was blasting freezing cold air, on a day when it wasn't even that cold at all! It was definitely frigid!

I love love love CAVA! The best way for me to describe CAVA is the chipotle of Mediterranean food. My go to order is a grain bowl (ask for pita on the side too) with half chicken/half braised lamb and toppings galore. With your bowl you get your choice of three dips and then additional toppings/dressings. You should definitely go for the traditional tzatziki sauce, crazy feta, and eggplant + red pepper for your dips. For dressings my top two are the yogurt dill and Sriracha Greek yogurt. I'm not big on spice but the Sriracha Greek yogurt is a milder dressing that goes great in almost everything! I really love CAVA and get excited with each new storefront they open up! If you're like me and plan on frequenting CAVA be sure to download their app as you get $ back/rewards after you spend a certain amount paying through the app!

Great food but the 5 stars are for the friendly, helpful staff from the start of the order all the way to the smiling cashier at the end.

Came back for lunch yesterday with a couple of friends. I had the Musakka a la Turk, one friend…read morehad the Vegetable Musakka and the other had the Turkish Omelet. The Musakka dishes are served with a side of rice pilaf and the Omelete with a side of fries. Bottom line - all three of us found the entrees to be bland. In fairness, I have only had Greek Musakka before, but I expected more seasoning and flavor, and my friend (the vegetarian) noted that they didn't get a hint of Bechamel - only mozzarella. I tend to agree the entree was heavy on the mozzarella and light on other flavors. We agreed that the rice was very good, both in texture and mild flavor. The french fries also were very good. The service here continues to be beyond excellent. Really good service. If I could give 3.5 as a score, I would, because the service was exceptional. But this is the second time I was here and both times found the entree to be bland. Maybe that's how Turkish food is - if so, please let me know, but I doubt it. The restaurant, which is very attractive and comfortable inside, has been around for 45 years and has an average Yelp score of 4.2. So obviously, a lot of people like it. I just call it like I see it.

Plus they have a great track record---they've been around for 44 years. They open for dinner on Saturdays at 5 p.m. That's when we arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. We liked their two top tables as they were wide and able to accommodate several items at once without feeling cramped. Our server was prompt getting to us. To drink, we both had ginger ale. For dinner, I had Filet Mignon Shish which consisted of: "charcoal grilled tender chunks of filet mignon skewered with fresh tomatoes, green peppers and onions. Served with rice pilaf and vegetable du jour". My husband had "Lamb Chops Karaman" which consists of: "Mediterranean cut tender lamb chops grilled to your perfection. Served with vegetable du jour and rice pilaf". Meals come with a side salad which is simply prepared. Our server offered to grind some pepper over them and we agreed. Plus two warm pitas along with butter were served. We found the food to be delicious. My filet mignon was served medium rare and was very tender, moist and flavorful. The grilled veggies were tender crisp. The vegetables du jour were nicely flavored and tender. The pilaf was wonderful---moist and flavorful. My husband really enjoyed his lamb chops. There were four on the plate cooked medium. He found them to be tender and flavorful. He, too, enjoyed the vegetables du jour and the pilaf. We saved room for dessert and ordered the "Mixed dessert tray for two". The selection varies each day so if you want to order this, ask your server what is on the plate that day. When we ordered it, there were 2 small pieces of each item. There was Turkish rice pudding, which was quite good and quite different from what one expects. Also, there was some pumpkin that was sweetened and tender. Creme caramel custard was also on the platter. The baklava was the star of the plate. Kazan makes their own which is orange flavored and awesome! The phyllo dough was crispy and light plus drizzled with honey and the orange flavoring came through clearly. My husband also had a Turkish coffee which he ordered medium sweet. I had Turkish tea which came with 5 sugar cubes on the side. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated with Turkish items. Service from start to finish was excellent. We left feeling like we had enough to eat but not so much that we were stuffed. And, yes, we intend to return!

It was pretty busy on the weekend, but we still managed to find parking and a table. People work on their laptops there so the turn over is slower. The appetizer sampler is a great way to start the meal, the lamb chops were cooked perfectly, and the Adana kabab was flavorful and well seasoned. My only disappointment came at the end of the meal. We were planning to order dessert, but the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had stopped by a few minutes earlier to let us know the kitchen was about to close and ask if we wanted to order anything else. That small bit of communication would have made the experience even better. Overall, this is still a great restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Just keep in mind that the kitchen may close earlier than you expect, so if you're thinking about dessert or another course, order it before the kitchen shuts down.

This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me. Dear Joon Management,…read more My family and I have been regular customers at your restaurant since March because we truly enjoy your excellent Persian food. I have also brought many coworkers and friends to introduce them to your restaurant. Unfortunately, during every visit over the past several months, the rice has been excessively salty. It tastes as though salt was added to the rice rather than the rice being properly seasoned. In May, I brought eight guests, and nearly everyone left their rice untouched. In early July, I returned with four people, and once again no one ate the rice. We mentioned the issue to our waiter, who was very polite and said he would inform the manager and the cook. On the third Wednesday of July, I came with two friends, and once again none of us ate the rice. I spoke with the manager, who was very kind and assured me she would discuss the issue with the cook. Unfortunately, despite reporting the problem more than once, nothing has changed. If this had happened only once, I would not be writing this email. However, after several disappointing visits, I expected that our meals would have been replaced or that we would not have been charged for food that was left uneaten because of the overly salted rice. I respectfully request that you consider providing a refund or another appropriate resolution for our most recent visit. More importantly, I hope this issue is corrected so future customers can fully enjoy your excellent food. If our feedback is important to you, I would appreciate hearing from you. I would also like to share your response with the friends and coworkers I have encouraged to visit your restaurant. My name is David A., and my email address is Shirpelang@gmail.com. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, David A.
