    Glow Bowl

Glow bowl was a solid dinner option on a lazy night after work! The color and vibe of the space in this restaurant is so nice and positive. I had a green tea and it was ok. This is a great option if you want something healthy and pretty tasty still. The unique menu items along with the customizability are the main draws for me.

Delicious food, adorable ambiance, and great service. My nephew loved his grilled chicken, sweet potato fries, and fruit. I loved the gluten free Mac and cheese and broccoli, although the tofu was very flavorless. But very healthy and clean meal, left me feeling energized. Flexible menu for people with a variety of dietary needs.

Healthy vegan and vegetarian options, but nothing wowing. Most of the food tastes like it was heated up and my tofu with brown rice was overdone. I did enjoy the freshness of the kale salad, but was bummed at the lack of flavors in the tofu and the chicken yakisoba dish.

We came here on a whim but it was a pleasant surprise! We have a vegetarian friend in our group and she loved it - we all ended up ordering more Mac and cheese and queso (vegan never tasted so good)! :) The ambiance was so cute/flowery/positive vibes! The service and workers were all very nice too. *sesame noodles / corn & quinoa / smashed potatoes / mother earth bowl / chips & queso / sweet pot fries / mac & cheese / cauliflower risotto / thai chicken & shrimp bowl

This was maybe the 10th time I've been here and I can't enough of the atmosphere in the restaurant. It's a great reflection of the friendly staff and furniture, paintings, and other interior designs. The food is always coming out fresh and tasteful. It's always a joy here

I was intrigued by their website where it says they cater to all diets including vegan, vegetarian, paleo, keto, and gluten free, so I had to stop by. I ordered the chicken enchilada bowl. I was so pleased with my meal. It was absolutely delicious, very flavorful and the presentation was so lovely. I greeted upon entry, the young lady that took my order was kind and helpful, the restaurant itself is so cute, it really gives high vibes, I love the decor. I will be back.

Very stylish and comfy ambiance with amazing food. The CHICKEN YAKISOBA NOODLES was delightful and the vanilla cherry sangria hit the spot! The service was quick. Nice to know they have a plethora of locations around the country, too.

Absolutely outstanding! Came here on a whim because I had an appointment in the McLean area and got hungry for some lunch, so I decided to try out this place. Love it here - they have so many delicious hearty options that are also healthy. I decided to get the chicken yakisoba noodles and it was filling, nicely seasoned, and nutritious with the ample vegetables included in this dish. There is a parking garage right next door, so that helps with the headache of looking for parking. Check them out! Great place to go for a quick sit down bite.

Fresh, fast, healthy and delicious fare! This venue has an adorable maximalist design esthetic which I loved! It's bustling and a great spot for lunch or an informal meeting. Service was friendly and polite, but there is inconsistencies in the order ready announcements and many are just placed on the shelf rather than called out which is confusing for consumers. The shelf looks like a pick up or door dash shelf and most orders are verbally announced which again makes that usage without a announcement confusing. I'd recommend choosing one or the other and informing folks at check out to keep their eyes peeled on the shelf for their order so the entry area doesn't fill up with people waiting on orders.

Delicious healthy dishes bursting with flavor, I really enjoy some of the new dishes on the menu like Mushroom Bolognese. Mushroom Bolognese (5/5) - The new vegetarian menu item hits with spot with zucchini noodles , chick peas, mushrooms and tofu "sausage" in marinara sauce. While I'm usually not a fan of zucchini noodles, surprisingly I really enjoyed the dish and everything blended well together and healthy too! Glow Bowl (5/5) - Mild spicy kick and hands-down my favorite dish with sweet potato noodles swimming in a creamy coconut curry sauce and packed with veggies - snap peas, mushrooms, bok choy, zucchini, onion, crunchy sunflower seeds, topped with cilantro. The roasted Tofu is a nice protein add-on that absorbs all the flavors in the bowl. Sweet potato noodles are prepared well and can be tricky to cook as I have feebly attempted! Love the fun healthy stir-fry dish as all the ingredients and flavors blend well together. Forbidden Rice (3/5) - Super spicy stirfry with a heavy dose of grains. While I love grains, they overpower the dish and would opt for a lighter pour of the red chili hoisin sauce. This dish doesn't fare well for delivery with saucy grains and soggy veggies. Mother Earth (4/5) - Healthy salad on a large bed of grains packed with veggies - avocado, arugula, cucumber, portobello mushroom, sweet potato. The dish is also overwhelmed by grains and falls short on flavor. There isn't enough pesto and spicy red pepper miso vinaigrette It's a bit bland and not my favorite delivery option. There's not enough space in the narrow deep-set to-go containers to mix around the toppings. The grains remain on the bottom and can't be easily blended into the bowl. Wider harvest bowl style containers would fair better. Sweet Potato Fries (4/5) - While they were tasty and enjoyed the small portion, I wish they were crispier. The stellar customer service goes above and beyond during the pandemic (shout-out to Mark, the manager and Riley, one of the staff members) and they made a custom delivery and gave me gift cards to comp for an incorrect order. Great service! Flower Child's got a variety of delicious dishes and a truly wonderful and dedicated staff! Love coming back!

Whenever I have to go into work I grab this for lunch and it makes my day! Super fresh ingredients, with salads bowls wraps and protein + side entrees. Ordering online is the best especially during lunch because it gets busy! Very colorful and light atmosphere with lots of seating.

Everything was marked GF on the menu. It was nice to go somewhere without worrying. I had sweet potato fries and chicken slices with a side of fruit. Honestly it wasn't worth the money, but the food was good. The portion was small for the chicken. There wasn't anything else on the plate, no greens or any other vegetables. Just a few slices of grilled chicken. It surprised me to have it served that way. My husband had the turkey salad. There was a lot of cheese. It was good though. He's not a person that has allergies or anything to worry about. I'm glad he found something to eat. Usually it's the other way. They have only lemonade and tea to drink. No soda. Paper cup for free water. I was surprised at the amount of paper and plastic in the restaurant. The utensils were actually silverware. Plastic straws.

Been several times to this location Flower Child. Always consistently good food that is healthy. It tastes clean but still tastes good, which is often a hard combination to hit! The quantity of food can vary greatly depending on what you order. Example - one of their seasonals, the Korean hot pot beef comes in the largest bowl ever with the food in the way bottom. At least fill it with more broth if you don't want to fill with food - it looked so sad. Parking in the garage can be validated.

Updated Review (previously 5 stars) due to poor management response:…read more Management has changed since my last visit, and boy, this place is not what it used to be, and that makes me sad. About four years ago, I happily gave this restaurant 5 stars and recommended it to others. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the complete opposite. During my meal, I discovered ANTS actively crawling around my food. (See video) It was disturbing to watch them around the sauce next to my meal, and I immediately stopped eating because I no longer felt comfortable consuming the rest of it. What disappointed me even more was how management handled the situation afterward. It was extremely difficult to get in touch with the manager despite multiple attempts. When I finally spoke with him, he refused to provide a refund because more than 30 days had passed since my visit. Given the nature of the complaint and the difficulty I had reaching management, I found that response completely unreasonable. I also raised concerns about being asked questions during my visit that made me feel racially stereotyped. Those concerns were never acknowledged or addressed by management, which only added to my disappointment. Because I believed this was a legitimate food safety issue, I filed a complaint with the Fairfax County Health Department. After investigating, the inspector informed me that they visited the restaurant, discussed my concerns with the manager, and that the manager confirmed my reported ant sightings. The Health Department also required additional pest control measures. Beyond the service issues, I also noticed a significant decline in the food. The wonton soup was bland and lacked the rich flavor I remembered, and the General Tso's Surprise tasted off and was missing the depth and spice that used to make it one of my favorite dishes. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite vegetarian spots, which is why writing this review is so disappointing. Based on my recent experience, the difficulty in getting in touch with management, and their total lack of customer service or care for loyal customers, I can't recommend dining here. They do not care about their customers based on how I was treated.

Delicious Indian restaurant - great happy hour and brunch spot!…read more The happy hour from 4pm-7pm Monday-Fri is an amazing deal. I ordered 2 dishes and a cocktail for under $20! I requested for the Paneer Tikka Flatbread (not on the menu)- vegetarian version of the Chicken Paneer Tikka Flatbread. The naan pizza was delicious, it was stuffed with cubes of paneer with a side of Tikki Masala dipping sauce. Highly recommend it! You can get the Paneer Pizza next door too! The Paneer Tacos were filling and fun to try, but large chunky blocks of paneer. While I enjoyed the spicy mayo sauce, I wish the paneer was cut up into cubes. It just felt a bit heavy with the paneer. The Spinach Artichoke Fritters (4) were tasty. The Mango Mojito and the Mumbai Mule cocktail weren't that good, but it honestly it's hard to complain when it's only $6/drink. The unlimited weekend brunch at $38 is a great deal and well worth it! You can choose from over a dozen Indian fusion dishe - as a bonus mango lassi, chai, and soft drinks are included! You can order 2 dishes/person at a time and the servers hastily swing by to clear your plates and place your next order! Between the 3 of us, we ordered almost conquered the full brunch menu and had a delightful brunch feast! The food had a spicy kick, but not overpowering and wasn't greasy. The portions range from small, bite-size apps to full, large entree size. There's a lot of vegetarian dishes on the menu with a few non-veg as well. There's a good balance between traditional Indian dishes and Western fusion with a hint of American flavors/presentation. My favorite stand-outs: - Aam Chat Papri with crispy Papri pita like chips with mango, chick peas, and potatoes smothered in yogurt and chutney, and topped with spicy garam masala mix - Chana Bhatura with chick pea curry and fluffy, bubbly fried bread. Large portion. - Spinach and Artichoke Fritters - Crispy bite-size balls filled with creamy spinach artichoke dip, 4 come in an order and perfect for sharing! - Aloo Bravas - Crispy, diced potatoes very reminiscent of the Spanish Patatas Bravas with aioli sauce and mild masala spicy kick - Butter Chicken - My friend enjoyed it, solid full entree size. I didn't order or try it in, but it looked pretty tasty and could easily why she made a happy empty plate! - Nutella Bread Pakora - Tastes like a bites-size Nutella fried donut! So good we ordered another one! - Helluva Hallawa Trio - I enjoyed sampling the 3 types of Hallawa, ranging in savory (carrot) to more sweet and milky (my favorite). - Mango Lassi - The sweetness of the mango lassi helped to balance out and absorb the spiciness of the food. - Masala Chai - Great ending to a meal, perfectG caffeine pick me up! Paired well with the Nutella bread Pakora. The other dishes on the menu were fun to try, but would probably skip and save room for my faves: - Aloo Sabzi and Katchuri - The dense hollow shell katchuri (similar to a round empanada) made of dhal lentil smothered in Aloo potato curry sabzi was very filling and dense. After a couple of bites, I threw in the towel. - Egg Burgi and Paratha - The masala spicy scrambled egg on paratha flatbread was kind of bland and a very small portion. - Mango Mimosa - While the mimosas were only $4, it was quite tangy and didn't pair well with the meal. I wish fresh mango juice was used instead of mango flavored juice (tastes like Izzy). The lunch buffet (Mon - Fri 12pm - 2:30pm for $23 wasn't the best experience. Admittedly, I came to the buffet at 1:30pm and the food was tepid and sadly overcooked under the heat lamp. The plates were very small and it was hard to fit a bunch of food. I went to the buffet at least 3 or 4 times to try out the dishes in search of the perfect bite, which I sadly couldn't. There were 5 main standard dishes with 3 vegetarian dishes (Dal Makhani, Aloo Ghobi, and Mehti Paneer) and 2 non-veg featuring both chicken dishes (Butter Chicken and Chicken Curry) and a galore of fried fritters/pakoras (spinach, onion, potato) with a couple of new rotating stations with Pani Puri (not much going on) and Spinach Tikki and Fish Pakora fried fritters. The Mehti Paneer was quite greasy with a coat of grease at the top and the paneer was pretty stiff. It wasn't tender. The Dal Makhani was bland. The potato aloo potatoes were brittle as they were sitting under the heat lamp too long. The best part about the meal was the fluffy naan, which was made-to-order. I enjoyed 2 rounds! Order the Masala Dosa crispy! When we got it the 1st time on the lunch special, it was a bit rubbery and soggy. After the server asked us a few times whether we liked it, my hubby relented and told him the honest answer. The server got the dosa re-made to go extra crispy, which did the trick! The masala potatoes paired well with the dosa. I wasn't a fan of the Sambar. Based on the glowing brunch and happy hour experience, I would come back to try the lunch buffet with an early start right when it opens!

I love that their naan is thin vs the typical thick kind at restaurants and stores. The lunch special had great choices on it including biryani and butter chicken! Thanks for that! I figured I'd like masala lemonade, and hadn't seen it on a menu before, the server cautioned me and offered a sample before I order it. sorry to say ew yuck but we tried it respectfully. I was verrryy shocked by the taste, almost tasted ritualistic it was so oddly gross. Lol Best service I've ever had at an Indian restaurant and food was delicious per usual of Indian food. She was truly outstanding - the best we have had at Founding Fathers! She had a sweet smile, very positive, warm, helpful, and quick to respond to the myriad of requests for ice, lemons, salt and pepper, another appetizer. For my birthday, she brought a donut with whipped cream with Happy Birthday stenciled in confectioner sugar on a wooden cutting board. Very nice! Also, I appreciated the hostess today who needed to get more validation parking tickets. I was seated by someone else, and the hostess walked to the very back of the restaurant to find me and give me the two that I had requested. The parking garage has gotten more confusing since I was there last. There are two Founding Fathers parking spaces to the immediate left when you enter with the brown strip on the floor. Maybe there is more, but those are the two I noticed. The rest seem to be reserved with a yellow strip for other companies. I had to go up to the 2nd floor to find a space. You don't take a ticket when you enter. There was a QR code to scan and enter your license plate number by the 2nd floor elevator, but I kept pressing Continue even outside the garage and could not get the webpage to take my license or have an indication of it knew about my car. I was there about 2.5 hours, and the fee at the box when I exited was close to $15 but with the Founding Father's 2 hour validation, it was more like $5.

Beautiful atmosphere. We arrived for lunch and the place quickly filled up…read more Dined on the lunch special of Waygu Beef Kebab and falafel. the meal was accompanied by the most buttery crispy rice Ive ever had. You have the choice of yogurt sauce or cucumber salad. We had both. Yogurt cooled the beef well. The cucumber salad worked well with the falafel. The food and service were divine will dine again.

3.5 stars but rounding up for the great service and beautiful interior. Have heard a lot of hype…read moreabout Joon and as a huge fan of the flavors of the region I finally got to check it out with a group of colleagues for dinner. And let's be honest, I was there to judge their famous Tahdig. The inside is beautiful, clad in dark green colors and velvet chairs, it's definitely going for a romantic dinner energy. The floor buzzes with staff and families giving the whole dining room a lively energy. The group had a few picky eaters that got their own dishes, but for the cool kids we shared the Gilani Kebab platter which came with prawns, chicken, lamb; ya, a little bit of everything and was perfect for sharing. The grilled/charred flavor showed through on top of rice and fresh herbs. We also got the whole roasted branzino, cause, who's not up for the challenge. Served in a pistachio citrus sauce over rice, it was very lightly flavored and succulent. The Tahdig did not disappoint, perfectly crisped rice, beautiful color and good flavor! A few dings because the cocktails (and all the drinks) come out very slowly (bar is probably under-staffed) and everything need juuuuuust a little more omff flavor wise. I'm a huge fan of Persian cuisine and the DMV is no slouch here so color me spoiled. The bill is also on par with being neighbors with a Tiffany's; so if you can get your boss to treat you, then go in!!
