I got the KBBQ protein bowl and it was amazing! It had an amazing blend of Korean spice and the sweet and salty sauce usually on Korean marinated meat. The portion was really big and everything about it was delicious with cucumber kimchi added in. I frequent this sweetgreen a lot. They are quick and super consistent and the recent touch up renovations have been a nice value-add. More recently though, I've been noticing a lot of skimping on portion sizing and I always feel the need to buy another item elsewhere to feel satiated, which is a bit disappointing since I'm already paying $15-20 for a bowl. Might as well go to CAVA, Chop't or Mezeh to build something similar and not feel this way. Hope to see further improvements, but this location has done me well in the past. read more

I was in the mood for a salad and decided to give Sweetgreen a shot. I went with the create your own salad bc I truly have fun adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that throughout the process (until I get to checkout and see the price lol). They had lots of traditional and fun options to add to the mix which I appreciated and when delivered everything was perfectly compartmentalized with the dressing cup in the middle (when ordering online it doesn't give you the option to select dressing on the side but it still came that way which I was super appreciative of). I also added on the Rosemary focaccia to the order bc, I mean, it's Rosemary focaccia and I was so glad I did bc it was totally delicious warmed up a bit in the microwave with a drizzle of olive oil. I tend to customize my salads by adding more toppings and turning their salads into Megasalads. They don't make a fuss about it and even sometimes give me extra toppings for free when it's not busy. Next encounter, they failed to deliver my food and I was met with an 'oh well' and didn't eat that day. They again said they were sorry and would try to repair the relationship. Fail!!! I love Sweetgreen - the ingredients are fresh, the salads actually taste good and they are healthy. This location is right in the middle of the mall and a bit on the small side, but a great option for a healthy meal if you're shopping. It's located close to Macy's, on the first floor and there's a small amount of seating there too. They have a lot of staff working to make the salads and bowls, so the ordering process goes pretty quickly. They have a decent selection of salads and bowls, all with healthy ingredients like arugula, spinach, chickpeas, and other proteins and they use a lot of local ingredients. The selection here isn't quite as large as the other locations (Boston and San Francisco have much larger selections on the menu) so I docked one star off for that. I got the Mexican Elote Corn Salad ($10.50) with their cilantro lime dressing and it was great. It had arugula, tomatoes, tortilla chips and roasted corn and peppers. I always find the salads to taste really great and the combination of ingredients are always spot on. The salads are large in size and filling, and it's always amazing to find something that tastes good and is good for you too. I'd eat at Sweetgreen all the time if there was one right by me, I'd be there at least once a week. This is a great place to come if you're shopping and want something healthy that tastes good and that won't break the bank. read more

If you want a healthy lunch and work in the Tyson's area, then this is the place for you! The restaurant is not very big, and it doesn't have a large menu, but they have great salads. Loved the miso bowl here! It's a mix of miso glazed veggies and wild rice. I substituted the kale for spinach and the roasted chicken for shrimp and it was absolutely delicious! The miso dressing ties everything together. Sweetgreen is one of my favourite places for a healthy meal in the DC area. Yes, prices are a little high but if you look at their wall of organically sourced ingredients, you'll see why. Good ingredients are unfortunately expensive. If sweetgreen were to replace every single burrito restaurant around the corner, I would be completely okay with that. Upon reading some of the reviews, I recommend that first timers try one of the signature salads. The whole concept is that they've learned to make salads that taste like something you'd genuinely crave. I ordered nothing but the Guacamole Greens salad for months on end, and still couldn't stop thinking about it. I watched health nuts who'd just come back from the gym get in line with me and order the Kale Caesar with this almost primal gleam in their eyes. I guess I've hesitated to review sweetgreen because by now it's expanded up and down the East Coast, but I now realize that it can still benefit from publicity. It definitely needs more locations. All of them are in these fashionable districts. And I get it - that's currently the target market. But I don't want to have to put on makeup, drive twenty minutes, fumble with terrible parking, and sit amongst image conscious yuppies to get the salad of my dreams (literally). Come to me, sweetgreen. Burrito bowls are so over a decade ago - and they keep shrinking! Remember when Chipotle used to be a ridiculous amount of food? I love Sweetgreen! The ingredients are always fresh and the people are always friendly. However, the line does tend to get very long during lunch hour. For this reason I make sure to grab my salad before 11:30a, which sounds early but if you see how long their line can get after that time then you will understand. The one issue I have with Sweetgreen is their prices. I think this place and other similar salad places are taking their charges to the extreme. After all, it is only a salad! If you are not careful you can easily walk out of here with a $15+ salad. Which I do not know about you, but just to eat a bowl full of vegetables is a bit much. I usually add steelhead to my salad and the portion of the fish is laughable. Especially since it is an additional $6 charge for it! (Do not be fooled by the size of the fish in my photo, I just zoomed in) So overall, other than the fact that I tap into my life savings every time I eat here, I think this is a solid place to enjoy good healthy food. read more

Was craving a salad for lunch last week which is rare. I decided to finally try this place out for the first time. Went around 2pm, so it wasn't too busy. A little difficult to understand the staff, but they were helpful in assisting me with ordering and putting together a pretty tasty salad. This place could possibly transform one to Vegan. It was that good. The Steelhead was the only thing that actually "tasted" healthy; I'd definitely prefer my regular salmon. They recommend the spicy Cashew dressing which is probably the best salad dressing I have ever had. I couldn't believe how good this "salad" was. I highly recommend trying one out. If you're facing the Galleria from the front, enter through the left side, lower level and it'll be about 50 yards in front of you in the middle of the hallway. Cant wait to go back! read more

This location is in Tyson's Galleria. The employees are friendly and efficient. It gets pretty crowded around the lunch hour but they have a great online order feature. You can preorder, pay and just go pick it up and bag it yourself. Suuuuuper efficient! The greens and veggies are always fresh and the options are endless! I love the seasonal salads. My current fav is the Summer BBQ salad. I'm not sure why it's called that. It comes with blackened chicken, watermelon, raw corn, shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, cilantro, chopped romaine, shredded kale, green goddess ranch dressing. Maybe because of the watermelon? Surprised at the poor reviews. Maybe they are comparing to other Sweetgreens and I haven't had them before. Maybe I'll try one of them in NYC. The lines were a little long and it's a bit hard to tell if you can go to the front if you just want a drink or whatever. Had their "Umami salad" with extra potato and I subbed chicken for tofu. The textures and flavors of the salad were excellent. Prices were a bit high for a salad but the freshness showed in their ingredients. The potato in particular is an interesting thing I don't usually see in salads. I tried their Matcha agua fresca which had a good bitterness and sourness (maybe some lemon was added in there?) from the matcha. it wasn't strong but the flavor was fine for the price. Came here for the first time today with some co-workers for lunch and it was delicious! I ate half the salad before I remembered to snap a picture :P I ordered the Harvest Bowl, which came highly recommended by my group. This salad has chicken, sweet potato, wild rice, goat cheese and apples. It was the perfect healthy, light and still hearty and tasty lunch. You get a little bit of sweet and a little bit of savory all at once. The portions are large and I had some salad leftover to eat with my dinner as well. If you're not counting your carbs, the bread on the side was a yummy addition. I will definitely be back to try more! read more
