Make Create Your Own
Tara B.

Got there when they opened so everything was fresh! Was famished so this really hit the spot. Very pricey but the ingredients were fresh so it was worth it for me. The service could be a bit friendlier but wasn't terrible. They were very busy for a week day but their team was very efficient! Enjoyed my lunch at one of their tables in peace!

Ordered and had it delivered, and it was full to the brim

High key what the heck is this disgrace. I ordered the guacamole green and recieved this, literally there's barely anything in here. & no i didn't even touch it, it's this much. I had this delivered before and it was so good, you can see the contrast in when it was delivered vs. When I went to order in person.

Create Your Own Salad

I was in the mood for a salad and decided to give Sweetgreen a shot. I went with the create your own salad bc I truly have fun adding a little bit of this and a little bit of that throughout the process (until I get to checkout and see the price lol). They had lots of traditional and fun options to add to the mix which I appreciated and when delivered everything was perfectly compartmentalized with the dressing cup in the middle (when ordering online it doesn't give you the option to select dressing on the side but it still came that way which I was super appreciative of). I also added on the Rosemary focaccia to the order bc, I mean, it's Rosemary focaccia and I was so glad I did bc it was totally delicious warmed up a bit in the microwave with a drizzle of olive oil. Definitely a perfect lunch option that I'll add to the Rolodex and try other options in the near future.

Harvest Bowl

The harvest bowl was absolutely delicious. The flavors were so good and all the ingredients were fresh. Friendly counter staff. Highly recommend this place!

They also say they don't restrict toppings/sauce amounts and historically, that has been true. The last two times I came to this location, I had negative experiences about the toppings/sauces. The first time, I only got one scoop of hummus because I got distracted while ordering. When I came to the counter to ask for a scoop of tzatziki, the woman at the counter asked how many scoops of the dips I had gotten. I answered honestly that I only got one, and she gave me tzatziki but warned me that they're supposed to charge if I already got dips earlier. I didn't want to argue even though I was previously told I could have as many dip scoops as I wanted. The next time I came, I asked for a second scoop of eggplant (which was clearly almost out and they gave me a very stingy amount in the first scoop). Even when they give a generous scoop, I've never been denied an extra scoop of these toppings. The employee said he would have to charge. From everything I see online, Mezeh's policy about toppings hasn't changed, so it's just employees at this location acting shady for no good reason.

Really enjoyed my time at circa!…read more Before coming, I perused the menu and knew that I wanted the chicken paillard. It was something I'd never heard of and looked like it had Angel hair pasta, arugula, and the chicken looked interesting. It looked fried, but not in a typical way. So when I got my meal, I was so pleasantly surprised at how delicious the chicken was. It was a light crispy, airy texture to the skin. And the pasta was delicious - so good. It had mushrooms and sweet peppers along with the butter sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I also ended up getting a mocktail which was a spicy faux margarita. Not bad! It had a nice ambience for groups, and our server was super helpful. He made a lot of good suggestions and made sure to check on us. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and looking for a nice dining experience!

I understand that you can't as a restaurant work on the same menu all the time, but they take away almost all staples and replace them with something very questionable. So far I tried 2 items and both were with major issues. First I tried Grilled trout entree and trout was bland with nice farro side . Whole dish seems underwhelming and had a lack of bonding sauce or flavor profile to make it a dish. Second time I had Salmon salad and this was not good at all. Salmon itself was perfectly cooked as a medium rare on my liking and champagne dressing in mixed greens was good. But I salad had cold and slimy potato pieces and big chunks of blackish marinated onions,it was hard to eat and even unpleasant. I'm really disappointed, because Thai shrimp salad was absolutely best salad in DC area as well as other very popular dishes from old menu. Please bring back Thai Shrimp!!

The spinach dip is a must-try creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Their salads are fresh, generous, and packed with tasty ingredients, making them more than just a side. And the crab cakes? Service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for lunch or dinner with friends or family. Overall, Coastal Flats delivers consistently great food and a pleasant dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back! :::

Carlyle is our go-to (11/10), Mikes American is wonderful (9/10), and Silverado (10/10) never disappoints. But we'll never visit Coastal Flats ("CF") again. CF was pretty busy so we ordered quickly: a CF lager, a cocktail, the community bread basket, the fritters as an appetizer, crab cakes, and a grilled chicken & havarti sandwich. Based on a recommendation, we REALLY wanted to try the fritters appetizer. Unfortunately, our entrees came out after the bread basket and we never had a chance to try the fritters... our multiple servers (their operating model) totally forgot about it and we never received the item. The butter for the bread basket was half liquid when we received it. The chicken sandwich was bland. The lager wasn't anything special. Crab cakes were as good as they should have been... for the market price of $36. But how do you totally forget about one of our orders? The staff tried to fix this by offering a free round of drinks or a dessert, but we already had enough to drink and the limited dessert menu only has three items. Hats off to the staff for offering, but with so many servers/staff constantly buzzing around and checking every table, why did this even happen? Nobody is perfect. Well, Mike's American, Silverado, and (the AMAZING) Carlyle are close. Compared to those restaurants in the same portfolio, Coastal Flats in the Tysons Mall is unbecoming of a Great American Restaurants establishment. We were disappointed and won't return. We suggest to everyone who has invested the time to read my review: go to any other of the Great American Restaurants, but SKIP Coastal Flats at the Tysons Mall as they might SKIP putting in one of your orders.

The food was excellent definitely top-notch, though a bit on the pricey side but worth it overall. What really stood out, though, was a young man named Henry, who was working as a food runner. I got the spicy pork soup dumplings, because I love spicy foods. The soup was savory, but I wouldn't consider it spicy, perhaps my tolerance for spice is a bit high. Everything was very savory and full of flavor, I just wish my spicy pork dumpling had a kick to it, perhaps putting some chili crisp on the sidez but I would prefer a really spicy soup inside the dumpling. Service was fast, which was impressive given this was their soft opening. The ambiance is that of a food court, but 2 of the vendors are not open yet so I think once all the vendors are open it will become more of a bustling food hall.

My son and I were looking for a snack so we got Chicken Fried Rice & an app of Garlic Cucumbers. Took 10-15 mins to get the food cause its made to order. Thats a good thing. The fried rice came out hot and fresh. The chilled garlic cucumbers in a plastic reuseable take away box. First the garlic cucumbers. It's basically sliced cucumbers with garlic, sesame seed oil, pinch of salt and cilantro. Not a whole lot of flavor but it is cold and refreshing. Missing sour, sweet, spicy and salty. I asked for chili oil. It helped a bit but not much. 6/10 The chicken fried rice looked good. Some veggies like diced carrots, shitake mushrooms, shallots, bean sprout and slices of dry chicken breast. Again, nothing special. No wok hei and not a lot of seasoning of flavor. Although its better than a fried rice that is too salty. The seating area was spacious but not huge. It was clean though. Overall, it was kinda pricey. $15 for fried rice and $10 for cucumbers. This isn't a mom and pop shop so I expected more from a chain. Maybe chef had bad day but if this is the norm, there are better places to eat. Maybe should have gotten the dumplings? Saw the prices and cringed. Overall 3.5/5, not 3.
