The food itself was exactly what you'd expect from Potbelly, so no complaints there. The problem is the operation. There were five employees working, yet almost no attention was given to the customers standing in line. Instead, everyone seemed focused on online orders while the in-store line barely moved. If you're going to ask customers to come into your restaurant, they shouldn't feel like second-class customers behind the app. This isn't a staffing issue. It's a management issue. With five people on the floor, there should be someone owning the front line and taking care of the people who made the effort to walk in. Instead, it felt disorganized, inefficient, and frustrating. The food saved this from being a one-star review, but the way this restaurant is being run needs serious attention. Management needs to rethink their priorities and create a better balance between digital orders and the customers standing right in front of them.

My daughter loves the chocolate croissants, cookies and flourless brownies, as I do the standard croissant. We do love the pastry items we get, when I ever order a pastry they always grab them from the fresh pastries from the rack and not the ones on display to give the customer the best experience. As a person who drinks a lot of lattes I know it's a process that takes 1-2 min per latte. She had both done in 2 min. I didn't see if she used a milk frother or not. When o left I opened my latte and it had something o would not consider froth, it had large bubbles and had no smoothness. I asked for both lattes to have vanilla. She only did the iced with vanilla. The Iced latte, being in a clear container you could see the milk on the bottom it came up about half way. It was not mixed and all you could taste was the milk with a hint of vanilla. I would compare the hot latte to one that you can make in an office coffee machine that has packets. It was very weak. Your pastries are good but my god I am glad that I didn't join the club even if the first month is free. On top of that even though she said she would give me the discount, she charged me full price. I would have complained but I have a lot of fatigue as I have stage iv cancer and just completed 39 radiation sessions. The music upbeat over the loudspeakers but there is also different staff music playing in kitchen area. So I get weird vibes with 2 different songs playing at the same time. I placed an online order on the evening of 4/21 for my usual -- a Giant #3 with extra meat -- and arrived a few minutes early, which gave me a clear view of the whole process. What I saw was disappointing. The bread was cut incorrectly -- not lengthwise down the center but more like one-third on the bottom and two-thirds on top. That kind of cut doesn't hold up, and by the time the oil was added, the thin bottom half was already soggy. I also don't believe I received the extra meat I paid for. The toppings were applied carelessly -- lettuce scattered across the counter, and the oil and vinegar were poured so haphazardly that the wrapping paper was soaked through before they even got to cutting the sandwich. I'm not writing this to be harsh. I'm writing it because I've always admired this location and would hate to see it slip into the kind of mediocrity that has hurt other spots in the chain. They also say they don't restrict toppings/sauce amounts and historically, that has been true. The last two times I came to this location, I had negative experiences about the toppings/sauces. The first time, I only got one scoop of hummus because I got distracted while ordering. When I came to the counter to ask for a scoop of tzatziki, the woman at the counter asked how many scoops of the dips I had gotten. I answered honestly that I only got one, and she gave me tzatziki but warned me that they're supposed to charge if I already got dips earlier. I didn't want to argue even though I was previously told I could have as many dip scoops as I wanted. The next time I came, I asked for a second scoop of eggplant (which was clearly almost out and they gave me a very stingy amount in the first scoop). Even when they give a generous scoop, I've never been denied an extra scoop of these toppings. The employee said he would have to charge. From everything I see online, Mezeh's policy about toppings hasn't changed, so it's just employees at this location acting shady for no good reason.
