The red clam sauce with linguine had delicious local clams and the linguine was cooked perfectly. However, for eight clams at a price of $18 I don't feel like I could go back again. We used to like and recommend this restaurant, but not sure of the direction they are taking. Service was good which is a change from the previous location. Came to Catch 27 for lunch. We knew we wanted Sea Food and we didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for food. The restaurant is located in a super cute historic building. The inside is small but cozy. Love the atmosphere and modern design inside. The food menu was small but honestly I believe everything is delicious! I had the chowder soup and it was the BEST soup I ever had. I also had the fish tacos and they were delicious. My grandma had a salad that was really fresh. My mom had a crab cake sandwich that was also really good. We stopped in here yesterday evening for supper, around 5:30pm. It was completely empty, the hostess and server were both behind the counter chatting it up not paying much attention to patrons coming in to eat. We were seated, the server came over and took our order (the server was kind of "blah"). Our food took FOREVER to arrive at our table - once again we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant!!?! The room is so small, crowded and noisy you feel as if you are eating with the people at the next table. My fault for not looking at the menu before we went there, but it came recommended. Had lunch during our stay in St Augustine. I ordered the fish tacos with side salad and my husband had the shaved pear and blue cheese salad with flounder. Both were excellent and fresh. My wife and I had dinner here. The food was very good! They easily accomodated my wife's food sensitivities. We both had the flounder with rissoto, my wife had her fish blackened. When we were offered a table outside, I took it wondering if we would end up regretting it because of the humidity and warmth of the evening. But not at all! We were seated in in front of a fan, under the shade of a tree and it was fantastic. Our server, Quinn, was on top of things, friendly and informative without being intrusive. That is a hard balance to achieve. Food was very good. The cheese board appetizer is amazing, highly recommend. My family and I have been coming to St. Augustine for summer vacation for over 15 years. We have tried just about every restaurant and I must say, Catch 27 has been one of the best. One of the best dining experiences ive had, from start to finish. Hosting staff was friendly and quickly got us seated. Josh took care of us and we followed his recommendations. It was around 8:30 and we sat outside, the young gentleman who took our drinks and food order (as we waited some 10 minutes to be greeted) was extremely helpful along with the waitress who delivered the food, it seemed that after we finished eating we were presented the bill by the not so helpful experience waitress told us that we were not being asked to leave, but everything in the building got locked, to where we could not use the rest room, but you could see the staff inside eating.. This little seafood place was a great pit stop while exploring downtown St. Augustine last weekend. It's about a block from the water( maybe a five minute walk). The inside looked quaint and cozy but I opted for eating outdoors as it was beautiful outside that day. It was quiet and the atmosphere was perfect with lights strung overhead, the sound of the fountain, and the warmth from the patio heater. I had the shrimp and grits(first time ever) and they were yummy!! Our server was also really nice. Visited there for dinner, restaurant was quite busy, we had eaten there before & both our meals were superb, this time however was quite different. One of our meals was quite good, the blackened mahi. However the cedar key clams I ordered were plentiful & tasty, the sauce had lots of crisp prosciutto which was extremely salty & the pearl couscous in the sauce wad hard & uncooked, The crab & corn chowder lacked much corn & was extremely salty even though I removed the crisp prosciutto pieces before eating it. I probably should have sent it back! Our entrees came out very quickly but before our first courses! We were told a mix up in the kitchen, hoping it was just an off nite for them, will give it another try again! read more

The minorcan chowder is particularly good and the fish sandwich with homemade remoulade had a very good texture and flavor.
