Lovely restaurant located inside St Augustine's Renaissance hotel! Beautifully decorated with an incredible bar. Service was extremely attentive and kind. Loved the seaweed salad with the shrimp cocktail and our Chardonnay was delicious as well. Hope to be back soon to try more of their menu!

I don't normally write reviews for special events such as Valentine's Day as I don't feel like they are representative of the entire experience on a regular day but I had such an amazing experience at this place that I have to write about it. First off, parking is impossible lol. This weekend there was no parking at the hotel and no valet parking so we needed to park across the street at the garage, which was fine and even though it was so busy we were still able to find a spot and walk back over. When we walked in and were shown to our table, I was handed a beautiful rose. The napkins were formed so that they looked like rosebuds as well. How cute! We weren't sitting far from the kitchen so we could see all the comings and goings of the server and watching the food come up. Our server Angelica was fantastic! Not only did she recommend some wonderful drinks she kept checking on us and kept us informed on any small delays in the food coming out. We decided on getting the special Valentine's Tasting Menu since it was for a limited time. We started with drinks, a West Indie Sour for me and the Sweetheart Spritz Sampler. My drink was tasty and I nursed it the entire meal. My fiance was very satisfied with the other bar drinks. The meal was awesome. I thought that the food would be too much for me to eat but it was actually just right. My favorite item? I wanted to say the Tuna Tartare (wakame salad, tuna, wasabi aioli, wonton crisp) but I think it was the Surf & Turf (1855 Kansas City Strip Steak, prawns, potato puree, broccolini, chimichurri, datil cocktail sauce, spicy remoulade). The manager visited our table 4 times and shook our hands on our way out. What an amazing dining experience. Definitely recommending!

SO and I stopped here for an amazing breakfast. Our breakfast was made to order with great ingredients and presented well. The coffee is pretty good, too.

We were staying at the hotel and came to the Castillo restaurant for breakfast. It was a nice place. Service: Our waiter, Frederick, was excellent. There was a large, private party there and he apologized for the longer than usual wait for our food. He provided great recommendations and checked in on us often. Food: I had the old fort breakfast Sammy, my husband had the buffalo chicken bowl, and my son had the kids pancakes. Frederick recommended I get the sandwich with the apple butter on the side since it could be overpowering. I'm glad I did, but it was nice to add some to the sandwich. The biscuit was a bit dry without any type of sauce or butter on it, so I did feel like it needed something. Otherwise, the sandwich was good and the roasted potatoes were crisp. My husband enjoyed the flavors and textures of the buffalo bowl.

Went there for valentines day and from beginning to end we had a wonderful experience. Food, service etc. All was fantastic and had a really nice vibe. Try the valentines day menu and it was wonderful. All the food was great and very satisfying. I look forward to going again and enjoying the other meals and beverages they have.

First Yelp review of 2026!! Always looking for new places to eat. I am apart of a group on Facebook and this was recommended. The food was well cooked well seasoned. The service was extremely helpful, the food came out on time. The ambiance was amazing. I ordered the short ribs, the award winning short ribs, they were great. My wife ordered the blackened flounder, also great!! 5 stars!!

Great service. Amazing Christmas decorations. Stand out drinks and appetizers. Enjoyed the crudo and tartar especially.

Birria slow-braised short rib with street corn risotto, lime crema, seasonal vegetables, fried corn and cojita cheese. Phenomenal!

We were unaware when we made the reservation that this restaurant was inside of the Renaissance hotel so when we discovered this we honestly weren't expecting the fabulous meal we had. We ordered the birria braised short rib with street corn risotto and seasonal vegetables and the spinach & artichoke stuffed airline chicken. I switched out the polenta cake it came with for the potato purée and I'm glad I did. It was delicious and the perfect complement to the chicken. My only complaint is the portion size. I don't eat a lot so it was fine for me but if that were my daughter or brother, they would've been left hungry. My wife said the birria braised short rib was one of the best meals she's ever had in her life, and that's saying a lot!

This was a classy hidden spot in St. Augustine. You are able to park free in the garage if eating in the restaurant which is ideal for downtown. We had a nice spot close to the front. I will say the lighting was a bit dark which would be great for romance but we were having a girls night. Service was nice. We did the charcuterie board and Brussels which were delicious!! I had the short rib which is what they are known for. Amazing!! Melt in your mouth amazing!! Will come back for a date night soon.

Delicious! They were very accommodating for our large party and the service was still great and fast! Located right before downtown, this place was very nice and the food was great!! All of the food and drinks we ordered were amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Food was ok. Service inside great. Ambiance kinda cool. The bad part. Bad signage for parking. Parked in valet only. No valet. Oh wait another entrance for valet. Nearer the restaurant. Asked the hostess went back out. Your keys. Um no I parked and then walked here and I don't want you driving my car. It isn't the tip either. More than half empty everywhere. My partner said don't make a scene the manager I guess overheard. Is there an issue? Yeah I don't want valet. Oh you can park in the garage. Welll garage ain't free and we dropped over $200 on your empty mediocre restaurant. No matter not coming back. Valet boy telling me he can't let me get my own car. He didn't run to come park it. Menu pricey and very limited I settled on fish and chips. They were good but not $30 worth can get that anywhere.

Nice modern restaurant with a good vibe. Food quality very good and won't disappoint. Waiter was attentive to all our needs.

This restaurant is located at the Renaissance Hotel in St. Augustine. A little off the main drag of bars and restaurants, but a higher end option. We were there for a friend's birthday with a party of 7. The service was excellent, especially for our group size! We ordered: The calamari and the brussels sprouts to start, both were excellent. I could not believe how massive the order of sprouts were so keep that in mind when ordering apps. Then we ordered several cocktails. The lavender bee's knees actually had no lavender in it, which seems misleading regarding the title and was not the most balanced cocktail considering the strength of the gin and elderflower flavor. Riesling, Moscow Mules, and white tea shots were also ordered and were great. For entrees we had several orders of the Salmon, the short rib and the bao buns. Everything was incredible except for the bao buns and the truffle fries. I was disappointed with the truffle fries as there was no flavor and they were quite bland. Overall good experience and would dine here again.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

Antique, rustic, comfortable, and full of enough character that you almost feel like you've stepped 200 years back in time. Then the drinks arrive, and suddenly you realize you've been transported into the future of cocktails. I wish I could remember the name of the drink I ordered because it was spectacular. Whiskey, a little sweetness, mint, and crushed ice. That's about all I can tell you. What I can tell you is that I could have happily consumed about 30 of them, tumbled down the stairs, and been perfectly happy about the whole experience. My wife went with the Mojito, and it was brilliantly constructed. The crushed ice and layered mint made it look almost too good to drink. Almost. The drinks absolutely deserve five stars. Then came the blue crab beignets, and they were spectacular. That's the kind of appetizer that makes you stop talking for a minute because everyone at the table is too busy enjoying what's happening. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn't quite live up to the cocktails. The fish dip was very average and lacked much flavor, and the menu itself felt pretty limited. So here's the deal: if you're coming to The Ice Plant for drinks, I would have no problem giving it five stars. The cocktails are that good. This is a highly recommended stop for a drink in St. Augustine. But I have to review the entire experience, and the limited menu and average fish dip bring the overall experience down a notch. Four stars. Come for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. Definitely order the blue crab beignets. And if you happen to find yourself three cocktails deep, admiring the antique decor while contemplating the stairs, maybe just take your time.

I had maybe the most bibimbap of my life here, and that includes contenders from a number of restaurants in the Atlanta area. It was truly perfect. $8 for adding tofu (maybe 1/4 block lmao) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen financially, but hey it's a tourist area and it was absolutely made with skill & care, so I wasn't even mad. Seriously, I wanted to hug whoever cooked it. It is so worth it. Everyone else at my table was thrilled with what they got - burrata sandwiches and a fish sandwich. Not a good beer selection, it's very cocktail focused. Not my thing but yeah I will absolutely be back anytime I am in this wonderful city. This is not one to skip

I wanted to love Forgotten Tonic because the menu looked unique, but unfortunately this was one of…read morethe most disappointing dining experiences we've had in St. Augustine. First, the seating. The tables are unusually tall, making us feel like little kids trying to sit at the adults' table. It wasn't comfortable for anyone in our group. Then there were the lights. They continuously blinked above our table, and it was so distracting that we asked to move. Unfortunately, the second table had the same issue. I know St. Augustine is famous for its ghosts, but I wasn't expecting them to be playing with the lights at 7:00 p.m. while the sun was still shining! The biggest frustration was ordering. We were told menu items could be modified, but after placing our order the server kept returning one item at a time to tell us they actually couldn't make the requested changes. It would have been much better to know that before ordering. The pickle appetizer was another disappointment. Based on the description, I expected a pickle-forward appetizer. Instead, it was mostly kimchi, pickled onions, and other pickled vegetables with only five slices of actual pickles. I honestly don't have the words to describe how disappointing that dish was. I was also excited to try the tzatziki green beans, but the crisp pickled green beans tasted more like fermented green sticks than an enjoyable side dish. The baked Brie arrived with what I initially thought was melted cheese inside the croissant, but it turned out to be undercooked raw dough. Imagine my surprise when I realized I had just taken a bite of raw dough. I actually started feeling sick before we even left the restaurant. My younger son ordered the house root beer, which tasted extremely watered down. He also had the pasta with added grilled chicken, but the chicken was dark meat, overly shiny, and completely unappetizing to him. I ordered the non-alcoholic Velvet Slippers mocktail. One sip was enough--I honestly can't find the words to describe how unpleasant it tasted. My friend ordered the steak sandwich and requested the peppers be left off. After ordering, she was told they couldn't accommodate that request, so she had to pick the peppers off herself and still didn't enjoy the sandwich. My older son ordered the lamb sirloin. Even though lamb is often served medium-rare, this was so rare it looked like it was still bleating. We paid our bill before dessert because my stomach was already upset. I ended up making one last stop in the restroom before catching up with my family, who were already halfway down the street, ready to forget Forgotten Tonic. Sadly, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. Between the uncomfortable seating, blinking lights, inability to accommodate simple modifications, disappointing food, and getting sick before leaving the restaurant, we won't be returning.
