Carmel's burger
Michelle K.

I tried a raw oyster for a second time and I just don't think it's meant for me lol. I tried the charbroiled oysters too but it still had a slightly raw oyster texture to it. Maybe raw oysters are like matcha, you just have to keep trying it until it grows on you. But I can admit I may just be the problem and not the restaurant. I did get a burger (mainly to take home for lunch the next day) the burger was very good! On another note, my friends absolutely enjoyed the oysters here since they are oyster fanatics! We all went for our friend's birthday since this is one of her favorite oyster spots. The service was really good and the restaurant was very classy. I feel like half of those who dined in either dressed really nice or dressed casual but in a classy way.

This place is a vibe! I'm still dreaming about the next time I can visit. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was so cute. It's upscale but not stuffy, definitely giving coastal, date-night energy with a really pretty interior and a lively crowd. Perfect if you're trying to feel a little dressed up without it being over the top. The food was delicious especially the bread! I loved the lychee martini. 10/10

Girls night out! We really enjoyed this place! Our waiter was amazing. I asked for a lemon drop that was not a menu item. However he did make it happen. Oysters Rockefeller for the table delicious. I had HAMACHI CRUDO $18. Definitely not worth the price. 3 little pieces of fish. The flavor was good but I was truly disappointed. I also had the MUSSELS they had applewood smoked bacon, shallots, grilled bread. Very delightful. Unfortunately, we were so busy enjoying ourselves that I did not take any pictures of the food. They do offer free parking and valet service.

We always sit at our favorite spots at the bar-great consistent friendly service, wonderful atmosphere and nice crowd. From the oyster shots, to the champagne and wine pairings, milk buns, caviar selection and more. Carmel transports you. Oh, they have great oysters too-especially the rockerfeller!

Still 5 stars. My coworkers chose Carmel for my birthday dinner, and it was a great choice--especially since some of them had never been before. We started with the milk bun, mussels, Bibb salad, and a mix of roasted and Rockefeller oysters (note: the bacon can't be removed). For entrées, we ordered two red fish and two whole lobsters, paired with truffle mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, and broccolini as sides. Everything was well prepared and enjoyable. Dessert was a complimentary mango sorbet, which was a nice birthday touch. We also had several drinks: a lychee martini (clearly noted on the menu with added raspberry liqueur), a bourbon-based cocktail, a lychee mocktail, Hugo spritz, and French press coffee. Most of the drinks were solid and well executed. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff overall is very kind. Our server was just okay, not bad, just not a standout but everyone has off nights. Despite that, I would absolutely recommend dining here. Great atmosphere, good food, and a solid spot for celebrations.

Beautiful place & location- reasonable prices on wine. Everything else very overpriced. The menu prices are very misleading and sneaky- I ended up paying double than what I expected simply for extra butter that I didn't even realize I ordered- and simply the way the prices are written it's confusing and there's hidden fees. Service was good- food is decent but not amazing- did enjoy the caviar fries- could skip the caviar butter though for the bread. Raw fish ok

So I came on an impromptu "girl let's get out the house" brunch and the food was phenomenal. Sat outside for the most part then when it got too hot (typical Atlanta) we were sat inside and accommodated nicely. But the real star of brunch was Max. He was our server and had the best personality and was the most helpful with suggestions and things of the sort. Definitely come here and sit with Max if possible!

Wonderful service, food was tasty, I would definitely come back! The caviar fries are very yummy.

Carmel has all the bones for something great, and I want to start this off by saying I will be back to give a second chance! I also want to add that we did come on their Oyster Bar opening night so that could have added to some of the hiccups. Carmel is gorgeous aesthetic wise with warm, brown tones all over that give a fusion of Tulum + Paris Cafe vibes which is perfect for the Atlanta backdrop. Let's do a general review of everything and then I'll get more specific on some highlights/areas of improvement: Service 9/10: our server was the best part! He was honest when we asked for input and every recommendation he gave was absolutely delicious bites/sips for the night. Only docked a point because it was slightly slow but not to any of his fault. I think it was just a higher pressure night & kitchen + bar were a little backed up. Food 7/10: some wins, but a few small issues with some of the items Drinks 9/10: amazing drinks despite the wait! Tried a few and each shined in its own way. Not too strong but I appreciated the flavor profiles and overall presentation. As far as access, Carmel is in the Buckhead shops so easy for rideshare service drop off and there is a parking deck + valet options near, so plenty of options! No to more details on what we enjoyed for the night: * Half Dozen Raw (chefs choice) 10/10: these were smaller but tasted fresh, and were mild in brine flavor so very palatable for anyone even if they don't care for oysters * Seafood Tower 7/10: So this was slightly underwhelming in portion size and general flavor. Shrimp and oysters were great, but the lobster & scallop crudo just weren't great. Specifically the crudo was super salty which I did infirm the manager. Maybe some citrus would have brightened it but it's hard to come back from "too salty" than not salty enough. * Octopus 9/10: delicious! Best bite of the night for sure. Beyond flavorful with a nice Smokey flavor. * Carmel's Burger 8/10: the burger was fantastic! Great portion and amazing temp on the meat. The caviar fries were okay, and extremely salty as well so although I would have given the burger a ten, that's what brought it down a bit for me. Blackened Okra 10/10: I love okra! What can I say. Amazing charred flavor and hands down an underrated side! Drinks: Prosecco: 10/10 - classic, not much to say Lychee Martini 8/10: not the very best I've ever had in the city, but tasted good, just very light on the spirit. Mar Azul 10/10: favorite cocktail of the night! Love the creaminess from those vanilla notes All in all, I would definitely stop by Carmel for some of their sides and small plates & maybe a cocktail but maybe not my full meal just because it can be slightly hit or miss.

I celebrated Galentine's Day with a group of ladies at Carmel. The ambiance is very nice and gives coastal vibes. I had a Lychee Martini it was really good. The host ordered cavier fries for the table as an appetizer. The fries were really good. I had the roasted chicken, it was very flavorful. The chimichuri really helped elevate the flavor. I shared an order of the collard greens and mashed potatoes with one of my friends. The sides were good as well.

Carmel was a great experience for me! Our server was great, service was quick, and the food was absolutely delicious. The interior is also decorated beautifully, with dimmed lighting but not too dark you can't see. We had the seafood tower, branzino, and a passionfruit based dessert. They also have unlimited raw oysters, with a great oyster selection. For drinks I had their lychee martini which had a fruity addition, which was very yummy. There is a paid parking deck nearby, as well as valet for parking. I definitely would come back again!

Stopped in on a whim. Glad we did! Just in time for Happy Hour (4-6 daily). Sat at the bar with Mark. Drinks were on point! Vibe was perfect. Chris was managing and most attentive. The restaurant was clean, that's important to us. The food was great! Everyone was friendly. We really enjoyed the place and will be back. They validate parking so take your parking ticket with you.

I ate at the bar and the service was excellent from both bartenders. I managed to take advantage of Happy Hour pricing on my Tropicalia ($5) on draft even though it's a Saturday. Happy Hour runs from 2-5pm on Saturdays and 4-6pm Monday through Fridays. This is one of the few places I've run into with a Saturday Happy Hour that has oysters, wings, cocktails and wines on special. I came to check out their Cease and Desist Burger ($23) which came with a choice of fries or tater tots. The burger was just perfect, seasoned well, brioche bun, American cheese, lettuce, dijonnaise, pickles and lettuce. The bar area is a comfortable area for dining solo (as I did) or with friends. A couple of TVs, not obnoxious in a Buffalo Wild Wings sort of way (no offense if you're into that), and plenty of drinks to choose from to make everyone happy. Even for a busy Saturday afternoon, plenty of free parking to be found which is always a plus! Will definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu but for a drink and a burger in a comfortable place that isn't a chain restaurant, this is such a great option for the neighborhood!

Parking was simple enough and free, albeit a little tight. I love the moody but light interior of this restaurant. It's not particularly upscale, but it is on the nicer end of a casual restaurant. Seating is tight but it didn't detract from the experience. Our table was a little wobbly, though. The bathrooms are tucked away in the very back of the restaurant and were tidy and clean with a nice design. The food was truly delicious. The bao duo was a great starter. We got one with pork, the other chicken. I appreciated that the flavor profiles of each were so different! We also tried the umami rice bowl... perfect seasoning and portion for an app. For ramen I had the truffle shoyu and husband had a spicy tonkotsu. We both added extra protein (pork) because most ramen places play around with the meat portion LOL. But the noodles, the egg, and all the accoutrements were texturally excellent. SO GOOD. They have a few beers on tap, a decent cocktail menu and wine. I grabbed a SauviB and hubs had a beer. It was the perfect balance to all the delicious umami flavors we experienced. Service was lovely as the place is small, and everything was clean. Our tab ran us about $88 before tip so come ready to spend. But the quality was worth it! I'll return when I'm craving ramen.

The broth was flavorful, the noodles were good, and the pork was delicious. My issue was that there was barely any broth -- maybe about a cup -- and it didn't even fill the bowl halfway. I'd probably order it again because it tasted good, but I'd hope for a more generous serving next time.

They have a 90-minute time frame for lunch (mentioned on their website), but no one rushed us out even though we stayed a little longer. Maybe it was because it was a birthday lunch and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. Overall, we had a really nice experience. Highly recommended.
