From the moment you walk into Bacchanalia, you can feel that it is going to be a great experience. The ambiance is open and modern. Service is impressive from start to finish. The menu is a fixed price experience with four courses. You get to choose from a variety of options for each course, providing ultimate flexibility. Every single bite was delicious and I cannot wait to return.

Still as delicious as always. Love the creativity in each dish and they are all executed very well. My favorite part of the meal is the cheese dish as well as the dessert. Love the mini amuse bouches as well

If you are looking for the Michelin experience, Bacchanalia is by FAR my suggestion. Came here for a friend's birthday and had the most excellent time - the staff went above and beyond to make our night as memorable and enjoyable as possible. We loved that we got the opportunity to try different things - sometimes set tasting menus can be restrictive, but this allowed us to try a bunch of different delicious dishes. Far and above, the standout to me was dessert - the chocolate lava cake. This might be the best thing I've eaten in my entire life (definitely the best thing I ate this year)! Everything was delicious, but that really was a show stopper. At the end of our meal, we walked around Star Provisions and chatted with the kitchen staff - they are super kind and fun to talk to. They even offered us free loaves of leftover bread from the day! Bacchanalia is certainly no small expense... you'll need to expect to pay a HEFTY price, but if this is a gift to you or a loved one, I'd say it's worth it.

Someone recommended it and I've been meaning to check this place out, for a while. I can be wary of people over hyping things; but, Bacchanalia did not disappoint. Food: I got the price fixe and probably the best choice. Just have to make sure you have room, as they start you off with amuse bouche and bread. Not sure if it's every night, but I got pao de queijo. My first was the crab fritter. I could eat that EVERYDAY. Everything in the dish complements each other and made me excited for the recast of the meal. My second was the Rohan Duck, a heavily Korean influenced dish. Perfectly cooked and the pairings were all tasty, too. More fresh bread comes with your second and if you ask nicely, they'll let you try both options. My third was the comte soufflé and the apple compote helps brighten the cheese. Lastly, I had the soufflé and that tarragon ice milk needs to be served in bigger portions. It was SO tasty. Cant forget, I was offered more bread, when I left. The atmosphere was warm and the service was awesome. Now, I need to get back to work, so I can afford to go back. Is it obvious that I liked it?

I dined at this restaurant recently with my friends to celebrate a wedding as we are all foodies and were excited to see what Atlanta had to offer in terms of Michelin star restaurant. After visiting, I have to say that while I am glad that I went I don't think nor do my friends will go back. They have a prix fixe menu which we knew going in but everything just seemed mediocre for the bar that is expected when a concept has a Michelin star. Not to mention, we all shared dishes that we didn't have so we tasted almost every single dish on the menu. Across the board, I felt like while the plating and flavors were good nothing was exceptionally great or like a wow. I expected to see more techniques in terms of gastronomy or even plating at a minimum which plating was very simplistic and minimalist which would be okay if the flavors were super creative or there were any other wow elements which our table didn't feel like there was. It would be fine for a normal nice dining experience but for a Michelin star the expectation was higher and the most technique thing we saw was the foam with the lobster. The server was very well versed and helpful and the timing of all dishes was on par but it did feel like some service elements did fall short for a restaurant of that caliber. Some of the things were glasses water glasses running empty which while the server did refill I do not believe in fine dining that if service is on point any glass should be finished before being refilled. We also were not given plates or dishes for the first little bite offered to our table and the I watched another table next to us get them so just seemed inconsistent with the dining experience. We were provided with new silverware and dishes for everything else even in between intermezzos and amuse bouches. As mentioned all dishes were fine, but nothing was exceptional or crazy or innovative. All of my friends said that their dishes that were supposed to be hot were at best room temp which I understand that things don't come out scolding hot but they should be warm if they are not meant to be served cold like tartare or dessert. All dishes were alternated with some sort of palate cleanser minus the second course which was served with two sides at the same time. It did feel as though service fell short in the aspect of us being served the same amount of dishes to share between courses as if we were a party of 2 versus a party of 5 for example one loaf of bread and only 4 rolls as one example of our experience. They seemed to sit on the side of less rather than more which just didn't feel quite hospitable. It felt as though the dish ware selections were intentional to the dishes but not cohesive to the concept of the restaurant as a whole. The same dishes had the same dish ware but the dishes themselves weren't consistent to the theme of a certain style of plating materials. Overall, I feel like the value and amount of food served was good. It just wasn't exceptional or uber impressive for the expectation that comes with having a star. For my group, the defining factors that we felt weren't up to par were aesthetic, flavor, some service elements, and innovation. Everything was good but not great or anything super memorable but overall experience was average for a fine dining restaurant without a star. Some of the group after reviewing were "it was not offensively bad. More salt. Good but underwhelming. Presentation lacked memorability. Not bad but not great." They did give free bread and bagels as a parting gift which was a nice touch. But if you do decide to go here at least the crab fritter alone may indeed be worth $150 by itself.

My love for going to Michelin star restaurants brought me here while visiting Atlanta. Atlanta is relatively new to the Michelin scene, but this restaurant has been here for about 30 years, so it made sense to try this one first. I had a marvelous dinner! You choose 4 courses for $140. I went for the crab fritter (a signature dish), the duck breast, the walnut tart with blue cheese, and the grapefruit soufflé for dessert. In-between are complimentary mini bouches and a citrus palette cleanser after the main. The service was cordial Southern friendly without being pretentious. The ambience was a bit dark with beautiful hanging lighting. I will go here for special occasions when you want to have great conversations with your dinner partner!

The steak dishes was wonderful and deserves 5/5 because it was cooked perfectly, and came with the most wonderful heavenly piece of mashed potato wedge I have ever came across in my life. The lobster tail was cooked to perfection and bathing in a wonderful sauce 4.7/5. The crab cake 5/5 is legendary as this point, it's been on their menu for over 30 years.m and needless to say, it's the best crab cake I've ever had. 5/5 scallop dish also cooked perfectly, the sauce was excellent and I actually really love the asparagus being prepared this way. We added a duck entree because it's extremely popular however I thought the steak was better. The 3rd course (cheese course) was not my favorite.. The dessert was underwhelming and did not impress. 1/5 Service was nice, beautiful decor.

came here for a birthday dinner on a saturday night @8:30 with a party of 6, definitely want a reservation for this kind of spot. The staff the entire experience was absolutely delightful, like could not say enough great things about them ALL. I wish i remembered our server's name but he was so sweet and even chatted with us a bit after we were all checked out and done with our meal. All our questions about the menu, wine or extras were answered with ease and pleasure. I got the crab fritter first course, very good crab meat and flavor combinations. scallops for my second, my FAVORITE course by far it was delicious; the blend of sweet and vinegar with the creaminess and scallops cooked perfectly was amazing. third course i had the stilton (blue cheese) which was very good. Finally, fourth course i got the chocolate dessert and it was soooooo delicious, but so was my friends coffee dessert. not pictured: foie gras which was my first time trying fatty duck liver and i really liked it, it was cooked really well. also my friends lamb was very tender and delicious. for a price per head, these portions were actually perfect and filled us great. they also brought out a few "mini" courses and bread/ sides for us to share during the second course. cons we experienced: the side of broccoli we got during our second course was VERYYYY charred and ice cold. My friend's steak was also ordered mid rare and it was quite literally pittsburgh blue, she still ate it and enjoyed it for the most part but my god it was insanely rare and not what she ordered. All things aside i really enjoyed the experience and food here and would recommend for a once a year nice occasion. we paid about 200$ a person with a glass of wine, 125pp, and the tip!

I visited Bacchanalia recently for the first time in many years. It squarely falls in the "fine dining" category, which I do not frequent as (for my tastes) the price often does not match the experience and/or value delivered. Happily, this was not the case with Bacchanalia...it was a wonderful experience! The fixed, four-course menu is diverse enough to satisfy most tastes during each course. I started with the SF Egg, which included an interesting gastrique with crispy sourdough for dipping. For the second course I opted for the Nantucket scallops which were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Brillat-Savarin was my pick for the cheese course and I enjoyed it as a milder, non-earthy option. For dessert everything sounded incredible, but I loved the Ellijay Apple as a warm, not-too-sweet option with local flavor. The restaurant's ambience was just right: dark, moody and not at all loud or buzzy. Service was excellent, with the staff being warm and welcoming while remaining attentive throughout the evening. If you have a special occasion to celebrate or just want a first-rate dining experience I believe you'll find Bacchanalia fits the bill.

My friends and I have a birthday tradition to go to high quality, often costing a bit normal. Special occasions are worth it. There was three of us with one having lots of special dietary restrictions. The staff absolutely made sure she was taken care of, answering all questions she had, and providing great alternatives. The staff were incredibly nice and attentive. We received a free French loaf on the way out the door. The menu changes and they'll bring "extras" throughout the evening. 4 course meal - I went with the crab fritter for the first course. Dry aged steak for the my second course. Yogurt for the 3rd and chocolate for the 4th. All were great. We tried each others courses. The halibut was really good. Bacchanalia is the in the same category as Lazy Betty. Top notch chefs doing amazing work. Can't wait to return.

Wow! This place was so good! My wife and I are always looking for a good restaurants. And for her birthday, I thought we would go all out and go to a Michelin star restaurant! These restaurants absolutely live up to their name. While we were there, we had so many different food options. If you've ever been to a chef's table, this is what this restaurant is like. The food was incredible, we left and wanted to go back the next day! I would recommend things, but it seems as though their menu changes quite frequently. However, I would encourage you to go out on a limb and try something new while here! My wife tried lobster for the first time and it was incredible. Now let's talk about the service of this restaurant, I don't believe my water glass ever got below half empty. We had probably three servers who visited us at intervals that were not annoying! They checked on us and delivered our food in a timely manner. This restaurant is fairly quiet, and everybody is seated far enough apart, where you don't feel like somebody's intruding on your conversation. This restaurant is an experience! We were there for almost 3 hours. We had so much fun, the food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and we left knowing that we would be back! Also, it was my wife's birthday so they treated us to a birthday cake as well! Thank you guys we will for sure be back!

So glad I came here for my birthday.. Probably the best meal I've had in a long time! I mean from the moment we checked in service was top-notch. We were immediately greeted and taken to our seats. The staff is so attentive, very knowledgeable and professional. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The lowlight ambiance creates an intimate and cozy atmosphere that is so romantic for date night. Bacchanalia offers a 4 course pre-fixe meal and you can choose from different options. I have to say everything is perfectly curated and each ingredient compliments each other so well. Before and inbetween the main dishes we were brought little gifts from the chef as well. My husband and I tried the following: Pâte à choux with cheese sauce Trio of amuse-bouche First Courses: Crab fritter, Thai essence, citrus, avocado Steak Tartare, lime, toasted rice, chili Sourdough bread & Rolls with butter and hummus Second Courses: Duck: butternut squash, orange, espresso Dry Aged NY Strip, bone marrow, potato, horseradish They also brought us sides to accompany our main dishes: Pickled cucumber salad with mushrooms and crispy potatoes Third Courses Smoked Ricotta, winter squash, pepita Cheese Selection (Cantal, Zamorano, Garrotxa, Comte, Bayley Hazen Blue) Palate cleanser was citrus Agua Fresca I believe Fourth Courses Strawberry whole grain tart, matcha gelato Souffle, grapefruit, ginger, honey gelato Everything we had was so good! The duck and steak were cooked to perfection. The sides really worked with the mains, that cucumber salad looked so simple yet I couldn't describe how good it was but I couldn't stop eating. AND THAT CRAB FRITTER! OMG. Best dish! The also sent us home with some goodies. Overall, a really great fine dining experience in Atlanta and those Michelin stars are well deserved!

    Ask the Community - Bacchanalia

Looks like a warehouse type interior. Is it noisy? or is it quiet - easy to have private conversations? This is for an anniversary dinner, we've been married a long time and I'm a little hard of hearing.

It was definitely "warehouse/industrial" interior, when I was there it was not noisy at all, it was a very intimate atmosphere in my opinion, perfect for any occasion. There were a few people celebrating something the evening I went.

    Is there outdoor seating available?

No, all seating is at the bar or tables.

How does the fixed menu work? Do you make 1 choice from each of the 4 courses?

    Yes.

Are there ordering options from a non pre fixe menu?

You can order from the supplemental section on the left side of the menu (I highly reccomend the fruits de mer), but you may as well just go with the pre fixe.

It's in a shopping center so there are plenty of parking, but you may not be able to park close to where you want to walk to the door to because there are so many other spots there. But the parking is free in Buckhead. So that's a plus! There's spaces inside and outside for you to go to, so that's good, but the inside is very nice and decorated very well. They have TV so you can watch sports but it's not a sports bar so don't get that confused. The bar is a nice size and set it pretty well. Not billions of bottles but just enough to what you need. Dean was my my server and bartender, super good customer service, very warm and communicative, and I would have come back just to sit at the bar with him again. The ball is very well kept and very clean, but the whole establishment was as well. They have a lot of space by the bar and to the other side of the restaurant as well. The menu is predominantly seafood related but they have other things as well. But they have a couple things that look like. They should be really really good so I am going to have to double back! Calamari - The calamari was pretty good. It came out really fast so it makes me think that they were already cooking by the time I ordered LOL. But it had a sweet chili sauce to it, but the calamari seem to be crispy and seasoned enough to where it wasn't a requirement. Brussel sprouts - brussel sprouts for good, kind of wish they had more of them but they were still pretty tasty. Overall. They had the vinaigrette flavor so I know that they were cooked well. They were more firmed and mushy so that was good. I would get them again and I was see. Can I get a full order instead of just a side order because they were just that good. Old bay fries - The Old Bay fries were okay. They had that sodium to where you needed ketchup to kind of bring the sweet. But they were still good though regardless. Shrimp tacos - these were good. Had 3 large shrimp. Got mine blackened and they were just the right amount of taste and flavor. The sauce on it was a little much but that was okay though, it balanced out all of the spice for the peppers and the shrimp seasoning. Gumbo - the gumbo was pretty good and it came in a large bowl, more than you would think a cup would be. Savory and tasty. Overall, with the quality of the food and the customer service, I feel like this place definitely deserves my attention again. The first time I went in I only had a couple of appetizers, and that really didn't do it justice.

My companion and I dine at C & S Oyster Bar at the Brookhaven location on New Year's Eve…read more My companion and I had reservations for 8:00 p.m., yet we were not seated until approximately 8:40 p.m. During that time, we were left standing near the entrance, exposed to very cold air each time the door opened. Unfortunately, the discomfort continued after we were seated, as our table for two was positioned near the entrance, and we were repeatedly subjected to cold drafts throughout our meal. To add insult to injury, I ask the server, a black lady who looked like she was a recovering crack addict, what sides would be a good choice with the lump crab cake? I was simply directed back to the menu. I ordered one lump crab cake with two sides. However, when the plate was delivered, she told me that an extra crab cake had been added. This significantly increased the cost of the dish to nearly $80. I did not request an additional crab cake and was surprised by the charge. 2oz. of red wine served in a Bordeaux glass at a cost of $25.00, LOL. This is to be expected, but not serving an extra crab cake to inflate the bill. Overall, our bill exceeded $200, which was especially disappointing given the service issues and overall experience. I had much higher expectations for a New Year's Eve dinner; however, that extra charge was taken care of in the tip. Thanks Ms. Disingenuous! Maybe your service will be better going forward. Sincerely, Will never eat there again!!!

The service was great, she was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu providing us with great recommendations. We had a smattering of appetizers for the table. My favorite being the alligator which had a sweet Thai chili sauce on it which made it spicy and sweet. And the. For dinner I had the crawfish étouffée with dirty rice. It was really good, a bit spicy but overall really delicious. *please note that the menu changes every 3-6 months.

We ordered two appetizers, including the shrimp and crab fondue, and my son found a bug in the fondue. At that point, we immediately stopped eating. The manager came over, apologized, and said she would have another one prepared which we appreciated but we weren't sure if we even wanted it. We had to make a fast decision if we would leave or stay, but since it was Friday We honestly considered leaving, but we were starving and didn't feel like going somewhere else, so we stayed. However, after that, we were really surprised that there was very little follow-up from the manager, no effort from management the attempt to recover the experience. Our server, Skye, was very apologetic and did what she could, but overall the customer service from management was extremely disappointing. At Pappadeaux's price point, finding a bug in your food is already unacceptable, but the lack of proper service recovery made it worse. This should have been handled very differently, and quite frankly, the entire meal should have been compensated. What happened to making sure guests actually have a good dining experience? We chose not to escalate things in the moment, but I can say confidently that I will not be returning to this location. I would strongly encourage others to double-check their food.

Overall, it was a really good experience with plenty of flavorful food and great service. We ordered three different boil bags: one with shrimp, another with Dungeness crab and mussels, and a third with shrimp and lobster tail. On top of that, we also ordered regular calamari, Cajun calamari, fried okra, 12-piece lemon pepper wings, and steamed oysters. Most of the food was absolutely delicious. Everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The boil bags were definitely the highlight. The shrimp, crab, and lobster were cooked well, and the seasoning on the boils was great. The calamari, wings, and fried okra were also solid and perfect for sharing. The only major disappointment was the oysters. Unfortunately, they were some of the worst oysters I've had. They were barely steamed and almost felt raw, and the seasoning mixture on top was not good at all. We ended up sending them back, and they were removed from our bill, which I appreciated. For drinks, I ordered a strawberry cocktail that usually comes with Ketel One vodka, but we asked for Tito's instead. After drinking it, I'm not completely sure the switch was actually made, and it also wasn't listed on the receipt. What really stood out was the service. Our server was very kind, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. The food came out in a timely manner, and everything was served hot. For all the food we ordered, the total came out to a little over $150, which felt very reasonable considering the amount of food. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely come back again. I just won't be ordering the oysters next time, and I wouldn't recommend them. Thank you Pirates Boil Smyrna Team Kay Lachelle
