I love this restaurant. I was devastated at the news of the Corner Grille in College Park closing but knew there was one in the Upper west side so I was excited to try this one. The taste, service and quality of the food are all outstanding just like the one in College Park. Our waiters name was Chris and he was amazing. We wanted to sit outside at the fire pit and he made sure the fire pit was set to a comfortable level for our liking. Additionally, he continuously checked in on us and made sure we didn't go without. Our food was made to perfection. I love the Cajun chicken sandwich and although this was my first time having it in years I still remember the flavor and this sandwich didn't disappoint at all. My husband ordered the shrimp po boy and at every bite as well. We both enjoyed our drinks as well, the peach lemon drop and whiskey mojito. We came to Corner Grille on a Friday evening. This place is conveniently located just outside of our Mableton home boundaries. The inside is cute, not pretentious. Jaylen was very nice and attended to our needs, immediately when we walked in and throughout the service. I ordered fish and shrimp with rice and broccoli, my husband ordered pork chop with mashed potatoes. The food came out hot! It was definitely fresh to order. Everything was well seasoned, the shrimp was a little salty and the rice was a little overcooked but all in all 8.5/10. If you have read my reviews before, one of the most important things to me is consistency. This place has it down - first the environment here is very pleasant, music -not loud - and your greeted quickly, and seated if your there on a night when it's no packed - it's a busy place. Blair was our sever on this most recent visit - she was friendly and treated us like she was genuinely happy we were there...and she's knowledgeable about the food and how it's prepared- that means so much when your trying to decide. So on this return visit we had Fried Catfish - equally as delicious as the last time, seasoned and crisp...I ordered Shrimp and Grits this time - OMG!!!! Those grits were creamy, buttery and there was plenty of shrimp. And i highly recommend the shrimp and corn fritters as a starter -think - a well seasoned hush puppy with corn and a dipping sauce that kicks it on over the top. I had an amazing experience at The Corner Grille. I was looking for an early dinner option close to where I live. I always ride past so I decided to take this opportunity to try. I tried the Fritters, Fried Oysters, Lamb Shank, and Beignets. Everything was great, I cleared my Lamb Shank plate as it was the perfect meal for the weather. The beignets, with the praline and raspberry sauce on the side, were an amazing treat. I've had plenty of beignets but these were the best so far. The service was also amazing. I'll start by saying that the owner Julian was a great host the night that I went. It was during the snow and Ice disaster and many restaurants were closed. He suggested that I try the Catfish and grits which were extremely seasoned. It is a bone-in catfish, which is fine by me. If you don't like bones , don't order it. My guest ordered the shrimp and grits . Other than that, I ordered a bourbon on ice and my guest ordered the French 75. The atmosphere is good and it can be a good date night spot because the table decor and atmosphere are nice. They have a bar and television's as well. The patio is probably really nice on warm days, but the patio is also covered so I'm guessing they have it available during the colder months and rainy season . I should have taken a picture but I ate way too fast. The Corner Grille is my new favorite gumbo spot. I've tried gumbo from Bon Ton and then The Food Shoppe, this one is it for me. A bowl will run you around $15, a decent size. Pro tip: add a dash of good hot sauce if you like spice. The next thing I tried were the beignets with praline sauce, so satisfying. Inside there weren't many customers, I believe I found a hidden gem. I'll definitely be back. This restaurant has two locations and has been making food for 10 years. It boasts a nice size covered and uncovered patio. The decor is clean and simple. Love the single rise bud on the tables (I love roses). The food: the grouper over root vegetables is a must try!!! My husband loves this dish. Also try the kale and beet salad and the salmon Opelousas. So good!. I've also had the crab Benedict and the seafood omelette from the brunch menu. Parking: free parking. Can be limited depending on the time you visit. I typically go early so I've had no issues. Service is great! Everyone is helpful. Shaliah was my server on several occasions. She's nice. Perfect evening out from start to finish! We walked in and immediately felt welcomed. We were very impressed at how seamlessly the staff worked as a team, attentive to all guests, even as the restaurant filled up with a Friday night crowd. It's an art to check in with guests gracefully - and to time each course perfectly- and they have mastered it. My Paloma was delicious! The best cocktail I have had since we moved to Atlanta- graced with fresh orange & lime wedges and a spicy Cajun rim. I usually don't like a rim but this one changed my mind. We ordered the fried Brussels sprouts which came with lemon and a dip- they were crispy and NOT greasy, which immediately signaled that we had found a kitchen operating at the highest standards. My salmon salad was delicious- the salmon was juicy and moist inside, complementing the sweet mandarins, and fresh salad - the flavor blend was so satisfying. I let my husband share - now, that's love. My husband loved his po'boy- again, not greasy and the fish was moist & flavorful. We finished up with beignets- came to our table exactly when we were ready for them, and they were hot, fresh - and let me say it again -- not greasy, the dough was authentic, and not sweetened, all the sweetness came from the powdered sugar, as it should. As we were leaving we spoke to a couple at a nearby table, locals who wanted to know how we liked our meal. So, there's substantial- and well-earned- local pride. We will be back. This is my favorite place to come on the Westside. The food is great (and they have healthy options) and the ambience is always so nice. It's not the cheapest place to eat but the food and service are definitely worth it. My favorite things to eat when I'm being healthy is the sautéed kale, cup of gumbo, and the lemon chicken entree. Delightful evening at the Corner Grille! They take reservations and that was quite helpful as we went on a Friday night. Server was friendly, well informed and proficient. Seating area is not huge but there is some outdoor seating for nice days too. Menu is great variety and includes some interesting seafood choices. We ordered the Kale and Artichoke appetizer. Excellent choice! The chips were clearly made in-house and so crispy, crunchy with right amount of spices. These alone would make a great dish but paired with the Kale/Artichoke dip, some sour cream and a bit of salsa, this was a great way to start the evening. I ordered the Cajun Seafood Pasta dish, shrimp and Andouille sausage and crawfish. It was very good and full of seafood. To be honest, I think I over enjoyed the appetizer so I had to bring half my pasta home but I'm looking forward to enjoying those leftovers. This review is for takeout only: The Corner Grille is a modern American restaurant in the upper west side of Atlanta. All the spots in the adjacent lot are for compact cars only, which is pretty confusing. You make orders online using a bar code they have inside the restaurant. You're supposed to get a notification but it never comes, leaving your food to just sit there as staff will not go the extra mile to notify you that your food is ready. The food itself is good. The fritters and fries were probably the best part of the meal. Calamari is just okay. Pretty salty honestly. They didn't give sauce for calamari or fries, only the remoulade for the fritters. The ambience is nice, they play smooth jazz and the lighting is very calming. The restaurant and restrooms are clean and the modern look is aesthetically pleasing. My favorite touch is the fresh single rose on the tables. I had the shrimp & corn fritters to start and I barely could get a picture! So taste, fresh and the perfect amount. For my entree I had the Cajun Seafood Pasta, very tasty and fresh! The seasoning level was immaculate and it comes with garlic bread that is so soft. For my drink i ordered the Georgia Peach, super sweet but packs a punch. Prepare to be a little tipsy. The service was AMAZING! The owners and staff were very attentive to me and made sure I enjoyed my experience. They were well versed on the menu items and checked in regularly. I didn't have to wait long for service or food. Good day yelpers, when I'm on a new side of town and looking to stop for a good lunch or dinner I tend to log into my handy dandy Yelp app and came across the Corner Grille and I happened to be right across the street. I head on over was seated immediately (inside was small but really cute btw). Sat down, was offered some water, given a menu and here we gooooo.... I waited quite awhile before the waitress came over to take my order (must've been a pretty important conversation on her phone), with that being the case I thought it to be a good idea to give both the appetizer and entree I wanted to order at the same time. (Didn't want her to miss replying to whomever she was texting) I ordered the Shrimp Corn Fritters (which came out ridiculously quick from the microwave, yes I can tell the difference in something that was reheated vs freshly fried) they were extremely dark which meant hard I looked at some of the pictures I saw and the pics looked waaaaay better, I didn't bother to send them back although I should've, after tasting one and scooting the plate off to the side my entree the Salmon Opelousas came out just as quick (I didn't know what to make of it) the presentation was wonderful i was rather excited to see if it tasted as good as it looked. looks can definitely be deceiving! OMG I had such high hopes, like how (see pic for reference) look this good have ZERO FLAVOR! No exaggeration! I see tons of onions, mushrooms, crawfish and PARSLEY! I couldn't even say it had salt, Cajun seasoning or anything! Ughhhh. The rice had some crunch as if it had been refrigerated and placed in that good ole microwave for a good heating, my salmon which I asked for medium was definitely WELL DONE but again had no flavor! There was a nice looking older gentleman which if I were to guess came out to the bar and had a lovely conversation with two young ladies that he seemed to be familiar with and once his conversation had ended I was thinking he'd make rounds to see how everything was etc...NAH! This restaurant is an oasis in the middle of the desert. The interior is simple and elegant. They have a heated patio, too. Music was playing in the background, but it was at just the right level so that you could carry on conversation easily. I've noticed in some new restaurants, the music is so loud you have to scream literally across the table to be heard. Not good. The food was so delicious. I had blackened mahi-mahi on roasted root vegetables. Root vegetables in Northwest Atlanta! That's what I'm talking about. I had a warm brownie with ice cream that was also very good. My dining partner had beignets and got all the sauces: praline, chocolate, raspberry, and one more that I cannot recall. Last but not least, our server and artist at heart, Jai with cute glasses from Etsy, was amazing! Her spirit is so warm, friendly and light.
