This place was gorgeous inside! If I were rating just on aesthetics it would be 5 stars. However, the food , drinks, and service left much to be desired. I made a reservation for a bday party and staff was slow and not attentive. I felt like we were rushed and it didn't seem as if the staff was happy to be there. We found this place by accident and so glad we did! Everything was absolutely amazing! We had the lox bagel tray and the waffles. I want to start off by saying I love nice dinners/food. I always try to find the best spots in any city that I am in. When i say that this might be the best dining experience I have ever had, I'm not kidding. The food is absolutely incredible and so flavorful. Our server, Berkley, is so attentive and just amazing overall. She brought us complementary dessert and champagne for our anniversary. The GM is also just so thoughtful and kept coming and talking to us. The drinks, SO GOOD. The food came out so quickly as well. I would recommend this place more than any other place I have been to in Arizona, and I have lived here for 4 years and am a big critique of restaurants. The complimentary cotton candy are you kidding me?????? Actually spectacular my jaw is on the floor. It's like blood orange flavor this is just crazy.This is without a doubt my best experience ever in a dinner place. Was fortunate enough to stay at this beautiful hotel using a group rate for a conference across the street. The stay was really nice. The food here was really good and cocktails were nice. Definitely try the corn side and the ribs here. Ribs were really tender and I like the polenta that came with it. The rice was a bit dry, but it had great seasoning so I didn't mind it as much. The kids mac and cheese was surprisingly the most generous. It wasn't so cheesy, which I liked. The restaurant along with their hotel is a great choice to stay and dine in downtown. read more

We were there for a quick dinner before attending a show at the Herberger Theater. They sat us right away and we had a drink and dinner in that one hour. We had the burger and the salad both were great. We also had the chips and trio dip which was very tasty. Did I say that they had live music that day? This place is absolutely beautiful, going for dinner looking over the Phoenix city beautiful lighting open dinner area!! The bartenders and the bar look exquisite! The food was a little high class for our taste at the time so didn't order any big meal but the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer was so amazing and so filling. We got the chocolate cake for dessert that was absolutely delicious. They served us some complementary cotton candy which was so fun!! As well as the drinks were super tasty! We had a lot of nice times at district and finally made it to Carcara. Our server was very sweet but was pulled away by a manager to help a large party in a private room. It was impossible for her to stay on top of her tables once pulled away. The guacamole looked great but wasn't very flavorful. The ceviche also did not have a lot of flavor. I should have trusted the 3 star ratings but figured it was a low enough number of reviews that we have it a shot. The parking is in the garage of the Sheraton and was really easy and felt safe. The ambiance of Carcara was really beautifully thought out the decor everything flows really well. The service was not good at all sadly our girl was nice but really needs to have some for training if she was new or maybe in a different line of work. We waited about 10 min or so for her to come and take drink orders she dropped them off we were ready to order but she started cleaning the table next to us and we wait awhile longer we started with the duck empanadas which I really question if they were duck they tasted more like beef they were just ok. We finished our app and she asked if we were ready for entrees and we were so we both ordered the short rib and it came out looked really good the Brussels sprouts were ok but the actual flavor of the short rib I couldn't stomach it was just that bad! My husband just pushed his around the plate and ate about 1/3 but I couldn't eat it so sent mine back. We asked for the check and left. Well let's just say I'm glad I sent mine back my husband ended up getting sick several hours later. Needless to say we will not be back. read more

The place is really pretty and has a nice ambience. The music would use some work because it was odd and it could improve the vibes to have something different. The hostess were quiet and not friendly. Our server didn't seem to care for our experience and wasn't talkative or caring and rushed us to order. My entree came out way before the other. Although the starters on the menu are very underwhelming, the entrees has some good options. The food was really really good! The burger was fantastic and we also got the pork chop (not pictured) that was refreshing and tasty as well. The appetizer was very good and I loved the sauce but you should ask for a side of it, they barely drizzle some on. The chefs did a good job and the prices aren't to crazy if you want to consider this fine dining. I work in the upscale restaurant industry and know how these things should be so I was picky with how the service was but the restaurant was cute and the food was good. Amazing spot we never even planned on stopping at! I had seen this spot driving around downtown a couple times so we decided to stop in for a spontaneous date night. We started with the empanadas which were amazing! The cocktails are delicious, strong and fairly priced. For dinner we enjoyed an angus burger and pasta verde, both amazing. To finish we ordered a brown butter cake which was beautifully presented with a chocolate covered dehydrated orange slice. The decor and patio ambiance is perfect for date night or a chill night out with friends. To top it all off our server, Courtney, was so sweet and amazing. If you can't leave the hotel and you need sustenance to survive then I say go there. I had an extremely poor experience dining here. Our reservation was at 8:15pm and we arrived on time. When we arrived we had to wait for them to prepare our table. Then we were taken to a back room of the building that was not part of the restaurant. Think business conference room. (See picture attached.) We were very bummed since one of the reasons we wanted to dine here was for the ambiance. After waiting for about 15 minutes and zero service coming by, we asked to be seated in the restaurant. They did accommodate us, however we still had to wait. Once we were finally seated at our table it took forever for us to get water service. At be point we overheard a server ask management "Have they been waited on?" And the manager replied "No." and then walked away. At 9:00pm we had our first interaction with our server. This was 45 minutes after our reservation. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. At 10:00 our first course arrived. We did not leave until after 11:00pm after finishing our dinner. Overall horrible management, service at over capacity, average food, but good drinks. Will not be returning and do not recommend. This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. read more

Ordered the burger, requesting no cheese (have an allergy) cooked medium. Waited 20 minutes to a raw burger. Had to wait another 20 minutes for them redo the order, but had to return back to work, so I requested the food to go. Just opened my to go food to find CHEESE on it! Also, the bar was not busy yet it too almost an hour total to even eat. I wished I could like the restaurant because the exterior is great. Had a great thanksgiving dinner at Carcara in the Sheraton Hotel. We had reservations and were seated right away. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and feels classy, but not stiff. They also have a big bar area and a tree in the middle of the restaurant. They offered a fix prized thanksgiving dinner for $40, which is a fair price, but you could also still dine a la carte. We opted for the thanksgiving dinner and took the salad as starter. Salad was great, really nice dressing and tasted like autumn. The turkey that came next was great as well, not dry at all and came with nice stuffing, a green bean casserole (which was ok) a marshmallow on some squash and a nice cranberry sauce. As deserts we tried the chocolate dream, which was very rich and the pumpkin cheesecake. The pumpkin cheesecake with some whip cream on top was amazing. Had a great cookie at the bottom and the cheesecake was super smooth. Ended the dinner with a digestive. Staff was friendly and attentive. We were super happy with the dinner and would try again if we're in phoenix ever again. read more

Guys. Carcara served me one of the top 5 meals I have ever had in my life! The short rib is absolutely life changing. The huge, boneless short rib dripping with the ancho chile jus was such a unique flavor that I am still dreaming about. But let me tell you about the queso chihuahua polenta because that is something that I think about constantly and it has been a week since I dined there. I could literally eat that everyday for the rest of my life. I also ordered the haricot verts with the roasted garlic. I actually haven't experienced roasted whole garlic cloves but holy moly, I didn't think I could love garlic more than I already did! This place is also where I got the most expensive cocktail I've ever bought LOL but it was absolute fire--ajo passion margarita deserves all of the chef kisses! The restaurant itself had beautiful ambiance! The lighting was moody and relaxing, the outdoor seating was massive and chicly decorated. We sat inside under the tree! My daughter suggested we try this place for brunch when we were out visiting her. What a cool treat! I loved the ambiance. We were seated under a pretty tree (fake). I loved the menu because I love new, fun, flavorful sounding food choices. I tried the pop tart (which was savory with eggs and a flakey crust and pepper jelly) It was tasty. The filling could have been a bit better, but I enjoyed the pastry, pepper jelly, and the overall concept. The salted caramel pecan bread was good. It would be perfect to share with one or two people to just have a little sweet treats. It's not big, but it's has several little pull apart pieces. My husband had one of their "planks" which came with a variety of meats and pickled veggies. Again, that would be perfect to share with the table. He ordered eggs on the side and was in heaven. We also ordered a side of potato bits (fresh and flavorful!). My daughter had the avocado toast which was good (but nothing spectacular). She ordered it with egg but then when it came, there was already a hard boiled egg on it, so she had two eggs. But she enjoyed the dish overall. It wasn't a cheap brunch, however we ordered a lot of food and drinks and felt like it was less expensive than it would have been in California. As much as we love the Sheraton for their service and amenities, we can't say the same for this restaurant. Went in for breakfast and all started well but didn't end that way. The waitress was friendly enough, the breakfast was great. Got the eggs, bacon and potatos with an OJ. Good size portions too. Then our waitress disappeared... no really, 20 minutes after eating and didn't see her anywhere. One table had to go to the bar and ask for their bill. Finally we ask a busboy to get our bill. The OJ was $10! Wait, what? $10 for OJ and no vodka in it?!? Ask the person that gave us our bill and he said it was a mistake. I wonder how many others have paid without realizing the "mistake"? $6 wasn't much better, but it is a hotel restaurant... anyway, if you have time to burn, the food is good.
