This is an interesting place. I expected a more Mexican type place, but it has more of an old diner's feel with a good cup of coffee. The customers looked like they have been coming to this place for a long time and the wait staff treated customers like old friends. Now the strangest part was the 90's, middle school dance R&B playlist like 112, Aaliyah, and Keith Sweat, which didn't match Anything in the restaurant, not the people, decor, food, and certainly not demographics. We had the carne adovada, eggs benedict, guacamole, and a side of hash browns. The food was good, but not exceptional. I'm a big fan of eggs benedict so these were average since there was not much kick in the hollandaise sauce. The side of hash browns could have been better in both presentation and ratio of crunchy to soft hash. The guac was good and tasted fresh. The carne adovada just tasted like meat and sauce. All in all, there was a lot of food, the prices were average, and service was fine, but they seemed to be below average in both Mexican and American food so we won't be going back. read more

I've been to Caitlin's 5 times now, but I just now got around to writing about it. I know, I know, shame on me. But, I have all good things to say about it. I wanted to rate Caitlin's a 5 star, but their interior is just too simple, too white, too boring. That can not be said about their food. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. I have only come here for breakfast and brunch. I'm sure their dinner is great, I've just not tried it yet. Their food is served in large portions and perfect to medicate that hangover as well as a hungry appetite. I suggest the "Mile High" which comes in many different options according to your likes. It is a mountain of hash browns, some eggs and whatever you order to go on top. They also serve a few beers, some wine and I think they have Bloody Mary's, I might be wrong. I have been getting emails regularly from this restaurant which is why I called Caitlins when my family needed a place for Easter dinner. It was last minute it was a little disorganized on our part but the staff, the food, and the restaurant were absolutely wonderful. We had 15 people for Easter dinner. Everyone's food came out about the same time. Everyone raved about it and all that I asked said they would come back again. Our server, who we called Bunny because she was wearing bunny ears, couldn't have been nicer. She never stressed always appeared calm and in control, had a great sense of humor and took good care of us. She made that day for the family! Thank you!!!! We will see you again soon! read more

Pretty good breakfast spot. Don't let the look of the strip mall fool you, this place has good service and good food. And best of all, unlike other brunch places, these guys stale reservations! Yes, it really is true. You don't have to wait an hour for eggs and toast! Okay, I'm being mean but you get the point. We brought a group of 14 people on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, it was a little too cold to sit outside but they put some tables together inside to get everyone situated. The waitress did a great job keeping everyone's orders straight and was quick to get condiments or refill waters/coffees. The menu is not the most extravagant but they have a good selection. There is nothing flashy about this place. It has regulars and a diner feel to it. It's hidden in a strip mall. Don't let that deter you. They can actually make over-medium eggs. Their pancakes taste homemade. The mile high - do yourself a favor and do half red and half green chili. Then prepare not to eat for the rest of the day. Huge portions at decent prices. I would not call this place even a little healthy (I've only had the breakfast burrito) but.... I would say that it's the best tasting I've had in Denver. I've looked for the beast one for quite a while as my Dad loves Mexican style breakfast more than anything, and I want to be able to take him to GREAT. Breakfast when he visits. Well, I found it. Also, I need to comment on the staff. The hostess/waitress was AMAZING! She knew almost everyone's name that walked in and all the major events going on in their lives. This is a little hole in the wall type place that seems to be very popular with the locals. It's nestled away in a shopping center. I stopped in here for breakfast while doing laundry next door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had the Abney omelette. The omelette was great! Plenty of bacon and guacamole inside and the cheesy hash browns were really good and crispy. We made it over to Caitlin's for breakfast this morning and have found a little bit of New Mexico in Colorado. What a beautiful surprise. Both the green and red chilies are completely the flavors of New Mexico. So delicious. The hubby and I both ended up with Mile Highs loaded with hash browns, eggs, cheese and lots of chili. He got the carne adovada and I got the bacon. Thick yummy slices and perfectly cooked bacon and lots of tender pork cooked in red chili. Yum. And the pancakes. I'm not a pancake person but the pancakes are amazing. The plates are huge, the staff friendly and attentive, and the value for your money, excellent. First time coming to Caitlin's was in March when I first visited Denver, and it was amazing the first time! Definitely a meal to remember, I believe it was Easter Day as well! The food was good and customer service was an 8 out of 10 (not bad) but the time it took to get coffee, get the food was extremely too long considering it was VERY slow in there. Note: when it's a breakfast place the coffee better be ready on tap! If I want to wait for coffee I'll go through a Starbucks drive-thru. The prices are a bit high! read more

Howdy all. I usually don't go to breakfast, but today was different. I had a meeting with someone and decided to make the best of it. Soooo, first place I go is here to see what's out there. We landed on Caitlin's based on the reviews. So here goes. It's in a little strip mall a block off Colorado blvd, pretty easy to get into. The restaurant is clean and has a small diner feel. The waitress was nice, friendly and pretty on top of things when she was in the room. Unfortunately, I think she was doing some stuff in the kitchen too. I had to wait a bit to get a table and I watched as others had the same issue. The food came quickly and was on the above average taste and quality. I'm a chicken fried chicken fanatic, so that's what I go for when it's available. Their party was tender and breaking good, the gravy was a little better than normal mix and serve stuff - meaning it was the correct thickness and temp. The Hash browns were actually cooked properly - not mushy. I was a bit bummed with my wheat toast being over toasted. My buddy's breakfast looked good and he mostly polished it off too. Overall, I would say it's a cool place to go in the morning and get some good grub. Don't expect fancy or upscale. I would definitely go again if in the area. Cheers y'all. read more

I can't believe people wait over an hour for unimpressive pancakes when there is a place like this down the street. We walked in at 8am Sunday morning and were seated immediately. The hostess and our waitress were very friendly, and the atmosphere had a feeling like you were visiting mom and she was making breakfast for you. The restaurant is very clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Our food came out almost faster than we ordered it. We ordered breakfast burritos, and they are very generous on their portions. The burrito comes stuffed with eggs and choice of meat (a whole layer of amazing pork) with hash browns on the side. The entire plate was drowning in amazing green chile (or red if you prefer). The kids breakfast is also a generous portion - and good value. The bacon was perfectly crispy and pancakes that didn't dissolve with the hot syrup brought to the table. read more

Stopped in here for breakfast, as I realized I'm basically across the street. First impressions, the wait staff was friendly and inviting, place was small but well organized. I got the Mile High with bacon, to-go. It was fairly inexpensive, and came out hot and ready to go in under 5mins. The food is prepared well, eggs are not over cooked, the hash browns could of been crispier (but it did steam a little on my walk home), but overall pretty darn good, and not too greasy like I was expecting. Only thing I would add is, if you're like me you might need the salt and pepper as the flavors are a little bland. I love Caitlin's. It's great hangover food. The staff is usually extremely friendly and the food is usually pretty great. Our server was great. It was quick. HOWEVER, the check out experience on a Sunday morning is less than ideal. They give you the check at the table to pay at the front. The man at the check out counter was literally drowning in tickets and showed extreme displeasure in having to split tickets. They use Aloha as a POS system which is extremely user friendly and NOT hard to figure out if you've set it up the right way. When he got up to the line he snapped and said "this is gonna take a while" as in, go sit back down until I'm ready for you. We didn't feel like waiting 30 minutes for him so we pulled out cash and asked him if we could just give him that and the change could go to the waiter. He was obviously annoyed and snatched the cash out of my friends hand. No have a good day. No thank you. Just clearly VERY upset at anyone who wanted to pay. Aloha is not a hard system. Get some training because you took a very nice experience and turned it into one where I wouldn't want to return because of the terrible man up front. And the worst part is he started yelling at employees rolling silverware as we were walking out so I think he may be management?!? Disappointing. read more

I was at Bookies with a raging appetite and decided to yelp an early lunch. Catlin's fit the bill, as I am up for breakfast any meal of the day. I ordered an egg white omelette with veggies, topped with green chili. I had a Bloody Mary to drink. My meal was a-ok, nothing earth-shattering, but not bad either. I don't get all the praise for their green chili and their bloodys are a pre-made mix added to vodka, no spice or salad, save the obligatory olive. It is a decent choice if you are in the neighborhood and hungry, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for it based on my experience. Maybe I just need to try something else. read more

So, I used to love this place. Good food, easy to get seating, reasonable prices. Those are still true, BUT only if you're on a typical diet. I recently had to go gluten free after finding out I have Celiac (amounts to a severe wheat allergy). I asked if there were wheat products like pancake batter in the eggs, and indicated to wait staff I can't have wheat. Guess who got "glutened" and has now been sick all day?? This gal.
