Meet my father for some breakfast today at Mike's and had a great meal. We both ordered chile relleno plates which are hand made, chiles seared on a flat top for some additional flavoring, and fried to perfection. The chips and salsa that we got were also excellent with their home made salsa. Service was quick and the diner was squeaky clean. Ok, this place was amazing. I've lived in this area for a decade and likely driven by this place 100 times. It has very unassuming signage I can barely read from the road. The sign is weathered and the place kinda looks like it might have closed ten years ago. But, what a surprise. Apparently it's a "locals" favorite and after my lunch today, I know why. We were greeted and seated within thirty seconds of walking in. The young female hostess was welcoming and chatty. Our waitress, Christina, was incredible from our first conversation forward. She was fun, friendly, efficient and professional. In a very almost friends kind of way. The food was hot, fresh and well made. The prices were much better than Denny's or a Village Inn and the atmosphere much more personable. I just might have found my new breakfast spot in my area. read more

Been having breakfast with a friend here for last 2 years. Great comfort food and friendly service. Not a clean restaurant and I will not be returning. The incident in question was pointed out to owner on Friday 3/6/2026 and the restaurant is still open. If it were my joint and what happen, happened, I would be closed for remediation and some serious soul searching. read more

Do not eat here. Mike's is just getting too crowded. Too popular. LOL. But I exaggerate. Restaurant has gotten very popular but it is still possible to walk in to empty tables and sit right down. I have been eating here (most happily) for many years. Great food, reasonable prices, good service. If you like "out of the way diners", you will love Mike's Cafe. My go to fave's are Chicken fried steak (not best ever) but best ever for the price, and the Chili Rellenos. CR breakfast is "Chili Rellenos and eggs". Lunch is Chili Rellenos with rice and beans". Today was our first time at Mike's and I can confidently say it is going to become our pre-golf Saturday ritual. Everyone working today was extremely friendly! The menu is huge and everything we ordered was delicious, especially the green chile! My husband ordered the huevos rancheros and cleaned his plate while I had the cowboy omelette and also ate the entire thing! This place was BUSY when we came in for brunch on a Saturday morning (New Year's Eve). Parking absolutely sucked, so we were nervous a bit about the dining experience. There were three of us and didn't have to wait long for a table. The menu is HUGE. If there is something you're in the mood for, they probably had it. I could have ordered at least ten different things to try. Our server was awesome! She took great care of us, and the hosts kept our coffee filled....and I needed the coffee. The food was FANTASTIC!! Was able to stop by on a Tuesday after a workout with my son. First time I was able to get parking and a table to eat so I was so excited! The place feels like a regular diner with no nonsense, so I was very pleased thinking it's all about the green chili. We both ordered the special of the day which was chile releno skillet , sunny side up , pancake and a side of jalapeno pepper. I was so anxious for the green chile with pork because I heard it was really good. Well, I hype my self up and was a little disappointed( this happens when you expect things to me amazing). Let's just say , I can make green chile. The food was nothing to wait in line for and I will back to try something different instead of green chile. This is our absolute favorite breakfast place and I am personally shocked and appalled that I have never left a review here before. I also partially don't want to leave a review because I don't want more people to come and then we can't walk in and sit down! We come at least once a week and there are no downsides. The food is alway hot, fast, tasty. We recommend the Huevos rancheros (green chili is ). My husband gets a side of pancakes and I get tortillas. YUM YUM YUM. It's hard to find a place where you can still get breakfast for under $10, but this is the place. My husband had Huevos Ranchero and it was as good as my wafflle combo. In Denver visiting and had brunch at Mike's. We lucked out for a parking place because they are always busy. Nice variety on the menu met everyone's taste. Portion sizes are generous and the service was good despite the dining room being full. Diner atmosphere with breakfast, sandwiches, and Mexican options on the menu. Nothing fancy. I tried the Gyro omelette and it was more like scrambled eggs with gyro meat. If your option comes with it, the green and red chile sauces are delicious. Great prices!! Our group of 8 are for just over $100 before tip including drinks. Enjoy! read more

Kids had kid pancake option - really liked except she thought the bacon tasted funny (a unique smoky flavor I thought). I have read other reviews that lower stars because a place is a greasy spoon. I keep it an even playing field for all - how's the food, quality and service. I love finding small hole in the wall places. Mike's is great, in the same league as the Butcher Block Cafe, with good food at a great value. Ambiance is no frills. Coffee is classic diner...weak, hot, bottomless. Green Chile has a nice flavor. Chile Rellenos were the crispy variety wrapped in a wonton wrapper. Wrapper was on the thicker side. The beef patty and eggs plate was great; wished I could order by temp as I would prefer at least medium as opposed to well done. Regardless, nice char flavor, standard fare hash browns and butter soaked toast-loved it! Parking can be a challenge with a small, tight parking lot. 2 breakfast plates and coffee for under $20.
