Wow. Seriously wow. I've never said this before, but if there was a 6 star option on Yelp,…read moreMezcaleria Alma would get it. Everything is perfection from the delicious food, the outstanding service, and the beautiful decor. I know this sounds like hyperbole but dining here was an experience I'll never forget. Let's start with the food. Everything was perfection. Our favorite was the aguachile de erizo (scallops and uni). The Santa Barbara uni is to die for. I'm not even a fan of uni nor scallops but the dish was so good especially with the aguachile. Do not skip that dish especially if you like a little bit of spicy. The Tostada del Toro was next up. This is the dish that everyone gets here and for good reason. First off, look at all those chives. The tostada shell was amazing with a nice charred taste to it and the aged toro (aged 3-6 days) was so flavorful and melted in the mouth. The burrata con huitlacoche was the most unique burrata dish I have ever had. The combination of the toasted bread, savory burrata, sweet nut crunch, and the unique taste of huitlacoche (Mexican caviar) was so well-done and just all fit so well together. Last but not least, the tres leches. Hands down, the best dessert I have ever had. Not too sweet and just heavenly. Do not skip this. I'm pretty sure I said "wow" after every bite. Second, drinks. I love mezcal. If you are a fan of mezcal or tequila, this place is a must go. I was given a free birthday shot with a side of crickets (I hate bugs but try it, it's actually really good), orange, and wormsalt. We got the Stinger and Colada. I was warned that the Stinger is a love it or hate it drink. I personally enjoyed it but it is very in your face with the herbal taste. The Colada is much easier. Last but not least, the service. Jorge, the sous chef, deserves 6 stars alone. He really elevated our experience which was already great to next level. He took care of us professionally while also being very personable. I would highly recommend getting a seat at the chef's table if you can. If you are celebrating an occasion, trying to impress a date, or just want a phenomenal meal, I can't recommend Mezcaleria Alma enough. I'll be back soon!

Super attentive, checking in often without being too much. 9.5/10. The loud music makes it tough to hear other tables, but since the seating is close and intimate, you can still easily hear the people you're with, which I actually liked. Food was elevated across the board. The tostada de toro was the standout. So fresh, perfectly balanced, creamy from the avocado with a nice crunch from the shell and sesame seeds. 9.5/10. Everything else was solid and flavorful, just not as memorable. Around 7.5/10 across those dishes. Drinks were good too. The daiquiri had a fun bubble gum flavor that I actually liked. 8/10. The corn sour was interesting with the mezcal base and surprisingly worked. 7/10. Loved that the drinks were strong. Overall, a really solid Michelin experience with great vibes and standout bites.

Ordered a couple times- and finally got a chance to dine in person…read more Upon sitting down the friendly owner told us about the origin story, how they started out as a food truck selling tacos and then now a sit down restaurant serving Filipino and New Mexican food as well. He then offered us a little sample of the Adobo Consommé. We got the lumpia, pork belly plate and the adobo bowl. Overall things tasted pretty great. My favorite was the pork belly plate. Maybe I am biased but the adobo while good, does not compare to the home cooking I have had the pleasure of experiencing back home in Singapore. Brought home the churros with dulce de leche which tasted delicious too. Side note: there was a 5% service fee which I don't think I was made aware of on the receipt.

I've had the chance to eat at the brick and mortar location quite a few times after moving closer…read moreto the location last year and I absolutely love most of the things that they have to offer. The lumpia is the long version and very tasty, the pancit, chicken adobo and lechon kawali plate is very good and when they have calamansi I try and get a cocktail with it because the juice tastes real lol. The few things that I think could use improvement are the tacos. I've had Taco Tuesday there maybe 4 times and unfortunately realized that the tacos are pretty oily and unless getting a non-sauce inclusive taco it's going to likely be oily. The fusion of Filipino into the tacos is a nice gesture but honestly did not do it that much for me, I ultimately like their classic types of tacos and not really the fancy/unique ones they sell. My friend also got a burrito at one point and it was dripping oil. The drinks also tend to be on the weak side and after having three cocktails there over a single meal I didn't really feel much of anything. The service and ambiance of the place is great and the owner really cares about the customers but the parking lot sucks lol, I'll continue to visit this spot for the items that I feel are good but haven't really been out for Taco Tuesday in a while.

My wife took me to Las Delicias North last week, and for her, it was a real trip down memory lane…read more She grew up in the neighborhood, so there was definitely some nostalgia behind her choice -- and I'm happy to say, it did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and we were seated right away in a comfortable booth. The staff was excellent: attentive without hovering, and they checked in exactly the right number of times. Our drinks came quickly -- I had a Coke since I was driving, and my wife had what she described as a really good margarita. Chips and salsa were brought out right away too, and the salsa was very good. For dinner, my wife had the Mexican Ribeye, which she said was just like she remembered it -- delicious. I had the Las Delicias Especial with a crunchy taco, tostada, tamale, and enchilada smothered in green and red chili. I loved it. I will admit I made a Mexican food rookie mistake by eating the tamale and enchilada first, which gave my crunchy taco time to get a little soggy. That was absolutely not the restaurant's fault, and even then, it was still delicious. We also took some churros to go and had them when we got home -- wow, those were good too. All in all, it was a great trip down memory lane for my wife and a great experience for me. I absolutely recommend Las Delicias North, and I'm 100% sure we'll be back. Next time, I'm eating the taco first!
