    Visiting Denver...

Excellent service warm and welcoming. The food is really authentic Mexican and the salsas are a blast! All of them spicy , no room for mild salsas here! Great overall experience!

I cannot speak much as to the vibe and service since every time I've had Los Carboncitos has been for take out or delivery. However, the food always delivers at a pretty reasonable price. Every time we order it, we have a good experience!

$14 for this! What a steal! The food here is always on point. I got the Cochinita, Barbacoa, and Pescado tacos. This place is no frills, great food and service! It's a perfect place for date night, take out, or dine solo. A must visit hidden gem of Denver.

The picture speaks for itself. 2 people 18% gratuity. Feels like a scam to get you to tip twice.

This was my favorite meal in Denver on my weekend trip. This place is legit & authentic. Walking in you can tell it's a family owned spot & full of flavor. Our sever was very nice & attentive to our larger group. The food was all so good! I loved that they had 5 different salsas and with a good level of spice and the tortilla chips were fresh and homemade. As an entree I had the chipotle shrimp which was amazing. The shrimp was juicy and flavorful. I also really liked the rice. 5/5 for me! Do not pass this place up! A true hidden gem.

Stepped inside and the vibe I got was more a family run, authentic type. I was really excited They give you homemade chips (I believe) and 4 kind of sauce + salsa. Ordered burrito y pollo, and plenty of tacos. Carnitas, carne asada, and barbacoda. The food was actually ok. I was expecting more. The meat for the tacos were pretty dry and the tacos were really small like street tacos but that was what I was expecting. The tortillas were actually pretty shrunken and dried so overall not a fan. My bf said the burrito felt like it was "Americanized" but the portion was definitely huge. Overall big portions and pretty cheap

I have been here a few times but today was certainly the last time. The first few times were okay which is why I came back. The food was not amazing but it was pretty solid with reasonable prices and a low key vibe, perfect for a chill Mexican night. The last two times the service has gotten progressively worse. At the end of our meal we just sit there watching the waitresses talk to each other by the bar until about 30 minutes later they finally come by to close us out. Today the steak tacos where super tough and chewy, the queso which we got for the first time today was literally like melted mozzarella with some mediocre chorizo.. not at all like traditional queso. An absolute hot mess. Today we came in for a date night and the table next to us (which was a table that was also located smack in the middle of the restaurant) had a person experiencing homelessness who was allowed as customer, he was by himself eating dinner out of a takeout container while almost falling asleep, face super close to the plate, eyes closed for 10-15 min at a time and then he would perk up and eat a little. He was definitely high and it wasn't weed. We felt so bad for this person. I was on edge the entire time, concerned with the possibility of volatile behavior from a man who clearly was not doing well. My opinion is you should do takeout if you must try this place.

Los Carboncitos is an excellent choice for Mexican food. We love grabbing takeout from here when we don't want to cook as their burritos are an easy and tasty option. I love the fajita burrito because it has peppers and onions cooked in with your choice of chicken or steak. You have to get the burrito smothered! Los Carboncitos also has four salsas. The red and orange salsas are very spicy but so flavorful! The orange is my favorite. Check it out for good Mexican for a good price!

Following the Broncos game, we wanted something other than fast food. As other Yelpers have shared, it's hard to find solid Mexican food in Denver. Los Carboncitos is mediocre by Arizona standards, but the best Denver has shown me so far. Los Carboncitos is located on the corner of a residential neighborhood. As such, only street parking is available. The restaurant was packed even at the late hour of 10PM. The tables are seated extremely close together where the back of my chair was touching the back of the chair of the table behind me. Music was blaring and the TVs were playing random YouTube videos and the soccer game. Complimentary chips and salsa is always appreciated, and the salsas were all pretty good- one was pretty spicy! Between the two of us, we had the pescado, chorizo, bistec, and pastor tacos. The pastor taco was surprisingly good; a good balance of the sweet you come to expect with pastor; definitely recommend! The chorizo was good as well, a touch salty (but how do you mess up chorizo?) The pescado was bland; I drowned it in salsa. The bistec (steak/carne) taco was BAD. Extremely chewy and bland. Hoping to find better in Denver!

I have been away from Denver for extended years. Last night I went to Tacos Jalisco and ate sub par food. My friend says...Los Carboncitos is the bomb....darn right! Great food...crispy carnitas....friendly staff. I literally dropped my review of Tacos Jalisco because this place makes them a joke.

As a true north Denver native and supporter, let me tell you... this is my favorite menudo in town they only sell it on the weekends and it is worth the wait. The service is always on point I have never had one bad experience here with any of the staff. I love the recent upgrades to keep the place up to date but the food never changes for me. Where do you park at this place? Not having a lot or street parking is very strange for a sit-down restaurant. Unfortunately it made me choose to eat somewhere else.

We park on the street, really not too hard.

It's absolutely authentic, but with an elevated menu that really delivers. We got the chip trio, but you almost wouldn't need it since they have a full salsa bar, including endless pico de gallo and sour cream. But the chips are thick and crunchy and delicious. I tried the taco de birria de chivo (goat) and was truly blown away. The meat is so tender and seasoned so well, you can taste the allspice in it, which is perfect for goat, and so unique to Mexican food. I also tried the al Pastor and the Carne Asada, both were also to die for. I love how they make the taco have a little bottom and give it three sides, to help us fit all the generous portion that they give. They also have several different Agua Fresca's, that you serve yourself and get unlimited refills, including Horchata. It's amazing. I've already come back another time since.

WHAT TO ORDER | Kiki's Red Tacos…read more This one was a HIT. We're already planning our next trip back. Here's what we ordered: Birria & Cheese Tacos + Consommé -- The must-order. Crispy, cheesy, packed with birria and even better dipped in that consommé. Trio Dip -- Perfect for the table and a great way to start. Carnitas Quesadilla -- Crispy, cheesy and absolutely delicious. Spicy Margarita -- Because tacos + a spicy marg just make sense. And the ultimate review? Kid approved. My kids were literally drinking the consommé straight from the container. If that doesn't tell you how good it was, I don't know what will. THE PICKY B RATING: OBSESSED I'd go out of my way for it -- and apparently so would the kids. After living in the greater Denver area for nearly 30 years, it was kind of a shocking experience…read moreto discover a restaurant that appears to have existed for quite some time. Until today, I had never seen or heard of Savina's before. I accidentally found Savina when I was looking for an alternative restaurant downtown after I couldn't dine at an Italian restaurant only several blocks away (they had unexpected staffing shortage so they had to close it between lunch and dinner.) When I did a search online, Savina's was only a short drive from it. I simply wanted "food" so switching the cuisine from Italian to Mexican was no problem. I needed to do work on my phone so upon arrival, I asked for a table/seat that has outlet access. The kind receptionist then recommended I grab a seat at the bar. And wow! As I proceeded to it, nicely dimmed lights with great ambiance that spreads out all the way to the four corners of the restaurant welcomed me. That was when it dawned on me that Savina's was a high-end Mexican place. Mostly booth tables with some standalone tables in the middle. Wooden beams on the ceiling and bricks as walls, the interior is mostly brown. The very bar I chose to sit at is quite spacious. What caught my attention was the copper countertops at the bar. The rustic charms that were being emitted from it were elegant indeed. As the receptionist kindly instructed me to sit right in the middle of the bar for an easy outlet access, that's exactly what I did. The person in charge at the bar was Craig. He was most professional. His attentiveness was simply timely between the moments of quick conversation he and I had at the beginning. Their menu (for the kind of restaurant Savina is) is a bit small (at least that is what I thought) and yet I don't like massive ones that have food items after another because it causes me to be indecisive so for that reason, Savina's menu size was comforting. For a restaurant with this kind of high-end feel, the prices of the dishes were quite affordable. After a thorough perusal of it, I set my eyes on the Mexican Street Taco (chicken) that comes with three tacos, rice and refried beans. And as of this writing on 9/27/2026, the price of this dish is/was $24. Craig saw me put down the menu. He wasted no time to take my order and it thus was placed with the kitchen immediately. I had about 10 minutes to enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa and my freshly made decaf. To be frank, I wasn't expecting a decaf to be this good at a Mexican restaurant. I mean it was really good. It truly hit the spot. And somehow it paired so well with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was also well made. My plate came out just in time. And it was quite the size. But what impressed me the most was, of course, the quality of it. The rice was well seasoned with the perfect texture/moisture. The refried beans were creamy but not to the point where it was soupy, had lots of flavors with the perfect amount of salt, and were properly mashed. And the protagonist of the plate, chicken tacos were of a good size. Each taco had a good number of diced chicken in them. And the avocado pieces in the tacos were very visible. And they were perfectly ripe with no brownness. The sauce that accompanied the tacos was also notable; a good amount of kick is what I tasted and yet it was a controlled heat. It sure was a nice enhancer. I was able to eat only half of what the plate had so I asked for a container from Craig which he promptly provided. Like I have already mentioned, Craig's attentiveness was spot on. I have to thank that Italian restaurant that was closed (LOL!) Had it not been the case, I don't think I would have discovered Savina's today. From the beautiful ambience to great service to good food, my late lunch at this Mexican restaurant was more than what I could have asked for. I will have to make a point to go back and dine there soon.

The restaurant was not very full when we got there but it was early and it was filling up when we were leaving. The homemade tortilla chips were awesome. They had just the right amount of salt. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my husband ordered the pork burritos. Mine could have had a bit more chicken but it was still delicious. My husband said his was good although they put too many onions on top (if I had to guess it was 1/3 of an onion chopped-a little rediculous). He also had a Catalan margarita that was tasty. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He talked to us about how he came to Denver from the east coast and liked it here. Overall, we would definitely recommend Savina's and if we are back in the area we would eat here again.

I grabbed a seat at the bar where the bartender was friendly and engaging. On a recent Wednesday at 7:15, the restaurant was packed. When I left around 8:30, it was still busy. That's usually the best review a restaurant can get. Loyal customers don't keep coming back out of habit. They come back because it feels like home. The all-day happy hour margarita for $9 certainly doesn't hurt. The second one arrives before you've had time to argue yourself out of it. I ordered the enchiladas with carne asada and their house mole. If you're expecting one of those intensely complex moles with enough ingredients to fill a pantry, this isn't that. Adelitas' version is comforting, approachable, and deeply homey. It tastes less like a culinary experiment and more like something your abuela has been making for decades. The carne asada was tender, the rice and beans were exactly what they should be, and every bite reminded me why comfort food never goes out of style. Before leaving, I made the smartest decision of the evening. Tres leches to go. I devoured it later at home while Netflix asked if I was still watching. The cake somehow manages to be light while completely satisfying. Don't skip it. Better yet, don't pretend you're saving it for tomorrow. Adelitas isn't trying to impress you. It's trying to feed you well, welcome you warmly, and send you home happier than when you arrived. Whether your abuela was Mexican...or Greek...you'll understand exactly what they're serving here.
