It is great they don't take reservations. It's a great place for a casual meal that doesn't require prior planning. The ribs were good, artichoke dip could and should have been our entire meal. The atmosphere is mellow. The host keeps people moving in and our service was great. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. read more

Bully Ranch Restaurant - Artichoke dip! - American Near Me - Vail, Colorado

Came here on Sunday at 8 pm and it was so busy! The hostess seemed overwhelmed. She asked us to wait and we stood for about 10 mins. We opted to sit outside since it seemed too busy inside with covid. The food was alittle pricey but my husband and I both enjoyed our meals. He had the steak and I had the ribs. It was only 6 dollars more for the full rack which I highly recommend getting since it's a lot more food. They were some of the best ribs I've ever had. I'd go back but wish they wouldn't pack the inside so much read more

Nice patio, nice location. Really pretty. Food was just ok. A bit over priced for the quality

Beautiful view with delicious food. We had the spinach artichoke dip and the chicken tortilla soup! Great way to start a mean followed by a steak and wagyu burger. Both were phenomenal as well! Despite limited seating inside, we sat outside but staff made sure we were cozy by heaters! Overall great experience, great service and glad we came! read more

We've been coming to the Bully Ranch for nearly 15 years, and have spent several weekends here (including our engagement 12 years ago). We usually rave about their food and mudslides. After visiting again this past weekend, I was blown away by how much they have changed and raised their prices! We paid $100 (before tip) for two burgers, a pretzel (for our kids to share) and four mudslides, which were half price on happy hour. Thankfully my husband has perfected their mudslide recipe over the years and they are far better than the watered down drinks we were served. Very disappointed. read more

Delicious food, once we received it. Our group arrived just before a group of 11 near us, and yet received our food after our neighbors had completed their meal. After mentioning our frustration to our server (absence between taking our order and delivering our check) she responded with 3 "I'm sorry" comments and proceeded to deliver her standard 18% gratuity. We go out to eat for interesting food experiences, and having others serve us so that we do not have to do it ourselves. While the food was good, the overwhelming poor service will keep us from ever returning. For such a high quality service locale, this place failed miserably. read more

What a great place. Food, service, atmosphere - can't decide what was better. I can't wait to go back and bring friends and a bigger appetite - deserts looked great but couldn't do it last night so we have to try some next time. I just wish they took reservations but waiting for a table in the King's Lounge was still a real nice time. read more

Great atmosphere and highly recommended for anyone. Super cool place and the food was awesome! read more

Bully Ranch Restaurant - Chicken pot pie was awesome. Come here for the atmosphere! Super cool place. - American Near Me - Vail, Colorado

Go for their daily deals! Good food just a bit pricey for me. Nice atmosphere and service too! read more

I've been coming to Bully Ranch since they opened. This visit was less than what I would expect from a resort restaurant that touts themselves as "World Class". After my daughter sent her seared tuna back for being cooked to medium rare we got to see the lead line cook roll his eyes. Not very professional. I asked for a spinach salad as my side and the spinach had not been picked through. It was wilted and slimy. My burger was just as I ordered it and my daughters tuna was delightful once it was correctly cooked. On the plus side our server was nearly perfect. read more

Food was descent but took an hour and the place was empty. Curious how slow they are when they are busy!

Had dinner here on Thursday and everything was great. The food was quite tasty and they had a nice selection of good craft beers. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Tables were well spaced out for COVID and all servers and diners took mask-wearing seriously, and we felt very safe eating here. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Great meal and the service was on-point. Even during Covid, the atmosphere was clean but relaxing and genuinely inviting.

This place was amazing! The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our large group of 10. The waiter was great, all the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend!!! read more

Good environment as we sat outdoors on a glorious July afternoon. Food was above average. Service was good.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We've been living in vail for 7 years & I'd say it's the only actually family friendly restaurant in vail village. Huge food & drink menu and you can't choose the wrong meal everything on it is fantastic. read more

I went to this location the other day with my family. We were promptly seated next to the open windows, which provided a nice, refreshing breeze. The overall atmosphere was great and had a nice, southwestern feel. The food was great. We ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer, which was stacked high with chips, cheese, chicken and veggies. I ordered a cheeseburger with candied bacon, which was extremely satisfying. The sweet taste of the bacon complimented the salty burger patty well. The French fries were crispy and I found my girlfriend stealing quite a few of them! Our server was also pleasant and more than accommodating. We had a great experience at this location and I will definitely stop in the next time I am in Vail. read more

The food is unbelievable good, and the service is even better. Can't wait to come back. Thank you so much again

We dropped in for a drink and a quick snack. OMG! We ordered the pretzel and will come back for it every time we are in the area. Easily worth the cost! read more

They removed the chicken and waffles from their menu, so when I went in for my usual I was very unpleasantly surprised. I was quite devastated. Now there's literally no where to get waffle in Vail. read more

Stunning place and great service!! We loved the grilled cheese sandwich and the burgers are the best I have ever had! Awesome country style atmosphere!! Must go to place in vail!! read more

We have eaten at Bully Ranch for years and the food and atmosphere have usually been good. My husband and I stopped by the other evening and were shocked when we received the bill. We ordered a bowl of soup and bison burger which we planned on sharing the two. My husband asked they split the burger. When delivered to the table they presented 1/2 a burger and fries on 2 plates, which we thought was very nice. When the bill came we were charged $8.00 for the extra plate, which is almost half the cost of the bison burger. We did not see a notice on the menu that there would be an extra charge for the extra plate nor did the waitress inform us of such. This experience has left us with negative feelings for returning to Bully Ranch. read more

Best burger of my life! I had the Definitive burger and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the fish and chips special and the loved it. Big portions, ridiculously impeccable service, and welcoming atmosphere. The lunch menu was very reasonable for the area. Doubt I'd ever spend 16 bucks on a burger anywhere else. read more

This restaurant was less than a two minute walk from our hotel. The food was so delicious, atmosphere wonderful and good customer service is what kept us coming back more than one time during our week long stay. The attention to detail for those who have food allergies was greatly appreciated. We are definitely life long customers who will be returning year after year. read more

The Fish and chips were great except for the tired coleslaw and tartare sauce served with it, my husband had the burger with bacon, but the bacon was not crispy as described. So we love this place for when we first arrive in Vail because if its relaxed atmosphere, young wait staff eager to please and the fact that we can eat early as we come from the east coast. But they need to just update some basics. Will come back though. read more

Do not even attempt eating here. The patio looks lovely and the menu has some interesting things... That's about where the positives stop. We were in Vail for several nights with my parents. This was our first family trip with our infant son. We looked for restaurants that were lively but not too loud for the baby and stumbled upon Bully Ranch. The restaurant looked moderately busy but only had a few tables seated on the patio. Upon entering the restaurant, we also noticed several tables empty in the restaurant. We asked to sit on the patio and were told they were not seating outside. When we asked about the several tables clearly outside, we were told "oh - they are waiting for a table and the other group has special permission to eat outside." Um what?! We were then told the wait was 45 minutes long and that we could sit on the patio if we ordered food at the bar and carried it ourselves outside. Awful customer interaction, bizarre hostess and manager "rules" and very disappointing for the Sonnenalp's caliber. We ended up at the Four Season's bar with terrific service and wonderful food. read more

Get the meanest mudslide in town at the Bully! I mostly came here to either have lunch or grab a mudslide on the way out of the village. The lunch is decent sandwiches and such, nothing too memorable, but they do know how to make a mudslide...did I mention that? read more

Very nice restaurant in a great hotel. We were four adults and a baby for dinner, and our experience was very good. The menu was varied and interesting - something to satisfy everyone. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful We'll go back next time we're in Vail! read more

You Vail yelpers led me astray, but I love you anyway. This place is cute but it is not very good. I ordered the tatter tots as suggested and wish I wouldn't of. I could not get the taste or smell out of my mind. It's something weird and garlicky and pungent. I also ordered a hamburger as I had read it was the best in Vail. It was good but not amazing and too heavy. The service was good, local beer selection was good, and the atmosphere is cute but I wouldn't go back. read more

Just sat at the bar with my husband to grab a quick bite instead of sitting in the slow down on I-70. We shared the Bully Bourbon Buffalo Burger and the chili. They split the burger and sides for us, great! Both were amazing! Reason I am giving 3 stars is the fact that two of the men behind the bar made comments about us sharing food that were obviously the focus of their attention of our meal. Maybe they thought that two of us sitting at the bar sharing a snack wasn't going to bring them a good tip. Needless to say, the bill was shockingly high, but still I compliantly paid, and left to check the menu. I was charged $25 for the burger, and $8 for our side of broccoli. No where on he bill does it mention a share plate fee, and the burger is listed at $20. The broccoli is on the side listed as one of the accompaniments to the burger at no charge. Hmm I think - with no explanation of the extra $13 we were billed anywhere on the menu, I wonder if it would have sufficed to just order another appetizer. I overtipped them. Money here today gone tomorrow, but this review isn't going anywhere. read more

Delicious! Everybody was pleased with our meals. We had already eaten burgers recently so we all went for something different. I had steak fajitas that were very tasty (I don't like spice); others had fish tacos, chicken and waffles, and the ribs. This crowd is hard to please, so the 5 stars means a lot. Service also great, never an empty water glass. read more

I've lost count how many times I've been here, but the place is the shizzle in my opinion! Never heard of it until a couple seasons ago when I rode the chairlift with an off duty employee who told us about the happy hour deals they have. If you're like me, you think "happy hour" Vail probably means they only take your first two children and your 401k for your first bar tab. But you'd be gravely mistaken as I was about the Bully. They actually have normal human being prices at happy hour on beers and some drinks. Really. And despite the fact that I'm just a middle-incomer from the Denver area, they always make me feel like a King there. The bartenders and wait staff are exceptional, not pretentious. They don't even seem to mind Denverites coming in like some other Vail establishments. And the food at Bully is exceptional! If you're missing that good home cooked hearty stuff you mom used to make for you when you came in from sledding or skiing, this is the place for you! Just out of this world good food! I've been to a Sonnenalp Hotel in Germany and Austria. Even their food was not any better than at the Bully in the Vail Sonnenalp. And here, you don't have to speak German! I will say the food is not "cheap", but it is very, very good. The decor creates the ambiance in my opinion. You feel like you're in an Austrian Alp lodge when you're in the Bully. I just love that. There's no other place I've found with that rustic & classy decor. It doesn't feel plastic like a lot of other places in the area. As for the hotel itself, well that's in another universe from my budget. But at least I can have a few beers and enjoy rubbing shoulders with people who don't even know what a suburb is. read more

We LOVED this restaurant! Went with our kids and a family our kids met a ski school. The restaurant staff were very accommodating to our party- seating kids at their own table nearby and they had a good selection of kid-friendly food. The cocktails and food were very good as well. We all had burgers (buffalo & elk). Everything was great! We came late in the season (April) and didn't have any trouble getting a reservation for the same night. read more

I like Bully Ranch! This is a great little place in Vail for lunch or dinner. Friendly waitstaff and was seated quickly. The fish tacos were great. Also munched on fries with truffles which had all the right flava. A few in our party got custom ordered burgers and really liked them. Haven't had much on the menu but I have a feeling it's all good. Portions are big. If you're starving get the French Dip. It looked awesome. read more

The burger was awesome!! I guess I should have expected to pay $17-19 for a burger in Vail. LOL The service was good and had no complaints about the atmosphere. read more

Looking for a casual place for a light dinner after arriving in Vail for the week this place was recommended. We were seated in the outside dining area promptly by hostess but then were ignored for almost 15 minutes. Waitress finally took order and brought drinks followed by sandwiches in a reasonable time. My burger was extremely well done, when I had ordered it medium rare. Also had almost no taste. My wife's fish tacos were good but sauce on them made them almost inedible because of extreme spices. After finishing had to search for waitress to get check. Way too expensive for below average food and poor service. read more

Surprisingly good--kitschy atmosphere, but not a bad menu selection. Really tested the chef's creativity w/ the seared tuna salad, but it was pretty solid--nice sized, more than just 2 pieces of limp sesame tuna on some leaves. Burgers look good for those meat eating heathens--manageable size, juicy (ugh, hate the word, sorry). Friendly service--better places to dine in Vail, but a safe bet for most people. read more

Amazing! I found this place through extensive online research for a good place to eat. And the reviews I read were spot on. Recommend the tater tots appetizer. Everyone loved there meal and the service was excellent. Definitely returning on my next trip to Vail. read more

Burgers are amazing and staff was very attentive. Recommend truffle tots, beef burger, and elk burger.

Food was acceptable but not amazing. Truffle tots were under-herbed and overly crispy. Aioli was missing from an order of shrimp ceviche. The bleu cheese butter on the definitive burger was extremely minimal. read more
