Went in on a Wednesday at 7PM, we were able to get a table for two right away. There is seating indoor and outdoor but the outdoor seating isn't full service I was told only snacks are served outside. We ordered the Vodka all'arrabbiata pizza with pepperoni, the mixed greens, and the olive oil cake all were really good and the limited addition blanc crush white wine it was refreshing! Parking was very limited at the restaurant but there is neighborhood parking. Great service, very welcoming, kind and gave great recommendations on the wine!
There is a reason Bufalina is ranked #7 on Infatuations "Top 25: The Best Restaurants in Austin" Every dish I've tried there is delicious, namely the Caesar salad, the orecchiette pasta, multiple pizzas, and the ice cream coffee. I'd give all of them 5 stars. Small spot but vibe is lively, services is great and food is even better. Most recently I went on a Friday around 6:30 and got sat immediately (party of 2), but the other times we've gone and have had to wait it hasn't been terrible. They offer the option to get a drink while you wait there or you can grab on at lovebirds close by.
A couple friends and I visited Bufalina this week to wrap up a long work week. We decided on the Vodka Arrabiatta pizza w/sausage pizza, Caesar salad (huge), and the pappardelle w/ragu pasta. The salad was very large and we were not able to finish it between the 3 of us. The pizza wasn't my favorite and had a slight bitterness to it so I drizzled it in a bit of honey which helped balance the flavors out a bit. The pasta tasted homemade but the sauce was a bit too acidic for my liking. It took about 20-30 minutes to ultimately get our table (no reservations for our size group), and the overall ambiance was lively and homey. Our server wasn't the most engaging but did check up on us to fill water glasses periodically. It didn't take very long to get our meals which was also a plus. Parking in front of the restaurant was kind of limited around dinner time on a Friday, but I was able to find options in the adjacent neighborhood. While I didn't pay for the meal, my friend who did commented that there were added fees pre-tipping that surprised her (wellness fee? and a patio fee despite us deciding against sitting outside and moving back in). These added a significant amount to the final bill. Overall, Bufalina may be a good choice if you love the pizza, pasta, salad intersection and enjoy eating family style. Unfortunately none of the items we got were super tasty or the best I've had. Food: 3/5 Price: 3/5 Quality: 3/5
Bufalina Due has the best happy hour in Austin! Half off select bottles of wine and pizza, come here w a group and really get a bang for your buck! We ordered the house red and it was $2 off a glass. I enjoyed it, even as someone who prefers white. I highly recommend ordering both a pizza and pasta so you can have the best of both worlds. Everything is flavorful and cooked perfectly. Come here early! Limited parking and lines start up about 3:30-3:45, for the 4pm happy hour! Our server was excellent. The ambiance is busy and bustling. If you have a hard time hearing, this might not be the best place to catch up, music is loud and everything is concrete so a lot of noise bounces off.
Went for Friday Happy Hour and were told by friends to get there early before they open at 4pm. Glad we did! We were there at 3:15pm and although we were second in line, by 3:40pm the line was super long. Small place and once seated we were told we would have an hour and a half before we had to give up the table. I understand if you are just lingering, but if you are ordering food (which we did throughout the meal,) it felt like we were being rushed before we even looked at the menu. We had the mushroom pizza and the tomato pie. Loved the thin, NY style crust. The pizzas were very good. The stracciatella was perfect. The happy hour prices are great. We did splurge on the Caesar salad and although it was huge, it was an over sized salad at a price point of $18 ish. It was ok, it wasn't anything over the top but, we did have some to bring home. We split the cheesecake with friends and it also was good but, probably wouldn't get again. It was our first time there so we wanted to try things. Happy hour beer prices are good with the great selection. The staff was pleasant and on the ball. One thing is because it is small, it gets super loud. If you are looking for an intimate date night, I would say this isn't the place for a quiet dinner. But, if you are looking for value, good food and drink, stick to the happy hour menu and it is worth it.
Bufalina has one of the best happy hour and pizza combos in town! They don't take reservations, so I'd recommend arriving early if you want to avoid a long wait. That's what my group did and we were the third table seated right when they opened. From the very first slice the pizza was absolutely worth it. We were there for a special event with Austin Oyster Co., so naturally we ordered oysters and the clam pie. The clam pie was excellent, perfectly salty without being overpowering. We also got the pepperoni pizza, always a classic and even better since the pies are half-off during happy hour. Our bottle of white wine which was also half-off and paired perfectly with the food. They also offer wine by the glass, beer & non-alcoholic options so there's something for everyone. If you're on the east side and hungry, make Bufalina your next meal out you won't regret it!
I brought my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and now we're regulars. The pasta and pizza are both incredible. Honestly, this is probably the best pasta I've had in my eight years in the States. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. We especially appreciate Weily. He's engaging, knowledgeable, and always makes the experience memorable. You truly can't go wrong with anything here. Five stars.
I'll start with the good. Best neopolitan pizzas in Austin. I am normally a red sauce pizza gal but I took the waitress' recommendation and ordered the lemon prosciutto pizza called Fresca and it was DELICIOUS. As good as pizzas I've had in Italy. The mozzarella, parm and perfectly chewy dough all came together harmoniously with the fresh zing of the lemon oil and arugula. Also got the Margherita with sausage added simply for more protein but next time I would not add sausage as it overpowered the pizza. It was still good though and I could taste the good quality of the ingredients. The ceasar salad is a must get. Perfectly dressed and huge in portion which I loved because I could eat it with my pizza as well as nibble on it as a starter. Food overall was a 5/5 Ambiance however was a 3/5 bc it was SO LOUD inside. The space is cozy and lively but they could really use some kind of improvement in the sound acoustics. It was also slightly warm inside, probably because the pizza oven is heating up the place. The service was also meh--the waitresses all seem like they're in a hurry and look like they do not want to be there.
Might be the best happy hour deal that I've gone to. Half off bottles of wine and pizza. It's a cute intimate space and was pretty full when we got there around 5pm on a Monday. We ordered a bottle of chenin blanc with the help of our server, bread & butter, red pie (add pepperoni), and the mushroom pizza. Everything was done well and had enough food for 2 days of leftovers! Will definitely return for the happy hour.
I'm between 3-4 stars for this place because I loved the pizza but the service was not 4 stars. We loved the mushroom pizza. It was the absolute perfect blend of toppings in my opinion. They serve a Neapolitan-style pizza --perfectly blistered crust, high-quality ingredients, and a menu that knows how to keep things simple and stellar. But the service? It borders on indifferent, and was timed not for our convenience but theirs. I was still chewing my last bite when they cleared the plates and they wiped the table while I was still eating though my partner had finished. You'll get your food, but don't expect warmth or much patience with questions. Still, the pizza is solidly delicious. Come for the pie, not the hospitality.
This is the best pizza I've had in Austin so far! Loved the margherita pizza! My friend and I visited for happy hour on a weekday and the pizza and wine was half off. We shared a margherita pizza and it had the perfect crunch from the woodfired pizza oven. My favorite type of pizza! We tried a bottle of red wine that was slightly chilled, and I really loved it! Especially on a hot Austin day. Service was great although they do try to move you along so the next group can take your table since it's always so busy. We got there right at 4 and there was no wait on a weekday. I was greeted right at the door and the host was so nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back for full dinner and to try that caesar salad stacked with cheese! 5 stars! They also have a few parking spots right outside.
Best pizza in Austin including happy hour prices ?! It can't be beat. Service is fantastic as always and it's always lovely and lively inside! Strongly recommend
Good and bad here. Went here on a Friday night. The wait was about 1.5 hours for 5 people. We were reassured that they were closing out the party but unfortunately they decided to baby their wine for 45 minutes after they closed their bill so I can't be mad at the establishment, but it's annoying. Our waitress had some pretty bad vibes considering I was pretty happy to be sat after some patron that watched us wait the entire time gave us $40 for drinks (thanks man, you're awesome even though my nephew with me wasn't of age yet). Their wine list was a good selection too. But if it weren't for the fact that all 5 of us felt bad vibes from her, I would've dismissed it. I'd say skip the pasta and pick the pizza here. My prosciutto and arugula pizza was good and had a great cheese pull. Red pie with pepperoni was pretty good, I think the pepperonis themself were actually really great! But somehow the best part was the Caesar salad with a side of anchovies. That is a MUST. But I'm not someone that hopes to go to a pizza place for their salad to be the best part. Their bread and butter was pretty lackluster. Am I itching to come here again? Nah. But I at least had a great salad.

The portions are super small. The pasta size was more like an appetizer. While I do like the pasta, it doesn't amaze me. Because it was my first time, I asked what the popular pizza was and the server recommended red pie. I didn't really enjoy it and if I weren't sharing, I couldn't bring myself to finish the whole pizza. The pizza is just like sour tomatoes. I wouldn't get it again. The crust is too thin and the burnt parts don't taste very good. I do like the candles on the table. They have parking available. They have happy hour for 1/2 off pizza but even half off the pizza we got is not worth it. I usually like to get dessert at restaurants, but I didn't feel like it was worth trying here. I left feeling hungry. read more
Cute (but small location, so plan to wait if you're going at busy hours), with a small menu but delicious food. We tried multiple pizzas and they were all very good. The stracciatella was such a treat. I would come back and try the pasta. The waitress was also very nice, only con is really the size of the place. Being pregnant I didn't get to try the drinks, so I'll be back (and I hear their Happy Hour is great!) read more

Came in for Sunday HH and arrived just before 5 and was seated just before HH ended. I recommend to those trying to get to HH to get here on the earlier side as it gets really busy. The stand out was the Caesar salad and mushroom Pizza. The salad can easily be split with two people and has a nice lemon note in the dressing. The mushroom pizza was a hit even for those that normally do not like mushrooms in our group. The Margherita pizza was very good as well. Half priced bottles of wine was also another bonus. read more

Food - 5 Service - 4 Ambiance - 3 Excellent, thin crust, toasty pizza cooked perfectly! Savory marinara, and high-quality pepperoni and other toppings! This is absolutely one of the best pizzas, if not the best pizza in town. The salads are equally good. Always very fresh. I love the seasonal salad that changes, obviously, with the season but subtly. There's a nice selection of wine and they actually have one of the only house reds of any restaurant in town that I actually enjoy. I believe it is currently a Syrah and I am not a Syrah fan as a rule. It is a very well curated wine menu, overall. I cannot speak to the pasta because I can't seem to pull myself away from the pizza and salad during the multiple visits but plan to very soon. There is actual parking on site, albeit, small. The only place where they don't really step up is the ambience and size of the place is very small so it can be difficult to get in quickly during the busy hours. Their sister restaurant, Bufalina Due has very good ambience though even though it is small as well. This restaurant is always a hit and never a miss! read more

Three of us came for happy hour, which offers half prices pies. Note, online menu prices differ slightly from in house menu prices. Caesar Salad ($18) - 5/5 This Caesar salad is the best I've ever had. The sauce is packed with so much umami and flavor, I just kept wanting more. Also, the quantity is massive and meant to be shareable so don't let the price scare you away. Easily fed 3 people at the table as an appetizer. Fantastic salad. Margherita ($7.50) - 3/5 Nothing special. Could have used more basil and mozzarella cheese. Also, if you are ordering the Calabrese, no need to order this one. Meatball Pie ($9.50) - 4/5 Calabrese ($9.00) - 4/5 Fresca ($10) - 5/5 Cool combination of ingredients that made you feel, well, fresh! Pizzas came out quick and hot. Exactly what you'd expect from a Neapolitan pizza with a great combination of ingredients on the Fresca. So, the average of these scores is 4.2 so I should be giving this a 4... however, I loved their Caesar Salad and Fresca pizza too much and have to bump it up to a 5. read more

It's...ok This is, quite probably, the best Neapolitan-style pizza in Austin. That said, that is a subjective statement, objectively speaking, it's...ok. The crust isn't terribly flavorful, and a little dry ti my taste, but, *but*, it's better than anything else you'll get in Austin Basically, YMMV read more

Came here on a Sunday not knowing they do happy hour on the weekends. Arrived at 4:30 and got the 2nd to last table. Learned it was 1/2 off pizzas and ordered 3 for 2 people. All the pizzas were really good because of the wood fired oven cooked crust. I originally thought the Fresca with the fresh arugula and lemon was my favorite. It was light and had summer vibes but then I ate the calabrese. Oh man the spicy of the Serrano pepper and who doesn't love fresh basil. The wood oven only holds 3 pizzas at a time per our server so be prepared to wait especially at happy hour. read more

Food: 4/5. Caesar salad was amazing. Pizza was great. Not much range though, so it gets a 4. Service: 1/5. When I first walk in and ask for a table for 2, they tell me that the only seating is 2 at the end corner of a communal table or a 20 minute wait for 2 seats at the bar. I see several tables empty. I don't fight it because I assume they are reserved. Then my partner comes in and asks for a table after I had just asked about the tables. The host then makes accommodations to seat us at a table that never ends up being taken. Clearly their communication with me was not consistent with the availability of tables throughout the entire night because we were pretty much the last ones seated in the entire restaurant. After that, we finally got seated at a table which I had asked for and was denied point blank by the host. Once seated, we had a server come, a female with short hair and tattoos and young. We told her that we had our own bottle and asked to have it opened knowing there was a fee. When she stated it was a $25 cork fee, we asked if there was a bottle of wine instead that might be worth buying instead of paying for a $25 cork fee. The server gave an incredible amount of attitude and told us that they have such an extensive wine menu that doesn't go under $60 a bottle. She was so incredibly rude that I was appalled. She then got mad when we told her that we didn't want to do a taste test of our own wine bottle, and got mad at us when we said to skip the taste and just pour our glasses for us. I then watched her go to a coworker to switch tables because she seemed very annoyed with us. Overall, I would give the service a 1. Food was good. Service was not great. I'm not sure if they were just having a bad day but it just seemed very unprofessional for no reason. read more

Bufalina My Bufalina experience was amazing! I went with a friend during happy hour. We got there right at 4pm and were seated right away. The restaurant filled up shortly after (4:30pm it was full!) and then folks had long wait times. The wait staff was prompt and added to the ambiance of an upscale and fresh pizza dining experience. The highlights were the Red Pie and the wine list! Happy hour is 1/2 off Pizza's and bottles of wine under $100. We split a Chenin Blanc and we're very happy with our choice - it was seriously amazing. We ordered 3 pizzas because the deal was too good to pass up! The red pie, taleggio, and the Calabrese. The calabrese was more loaded with toppings and the taleggio was a light but more cheesy and creamy. The red pie however was light and bursting with flavor. You could taste all the freshness of the tomatoes, the sweet, acidic, and salty. It was just wow. I recommend Bufalina but beware going outside of happy hour as it will get quite expensive! My friend and I literally stumbled across Bufalina recently, and their pizza looked and smelled so good that we just had to give it a try - I'm really glad we did! Ordering two different pies and sharing them family style, we both thought they were totally outstanding - the crust was especially good; it was pillowy and cheesy, with just the right amount of chew :-) Service was efficient, fast, and friendly - there's no question I'll come back for more pizza the next time I[m in the neighborhood. read more

Great Happy Hour, Huge Wine List. Ok came on a Thursday afternoon with a friend for Happy Hour. It's from 4:30-6:30pm and includes half off pizzas and half off bottles of wine under $100. WHAT A DEAL!! Service is a bit slow at the beginning as people pack into happy hour, but it got better towards the need. Highly recommend coming early to snag a table. Pizza is absolutely delicious and what you would expect from a good Neapolitan style. We picked a Chianti which paired perfectly with the pizza. The wine list is extensive, so I recommend asking the bar tender for a recommendation or picking a mid-range wines. Usually those are a better bang for your buck. Will come again to try more pizzas and wine! read more

I've been wanting to check out Bufalina for the longest time & what better day to do it than National Pizza Day! We went in on a Thursday a few minutes before 4 PM. I highly recommend arriving at this time. We totally beat the rush. The Happy Hour is every day from 4-5:30. Half off pizzas, half off bottles of wine, $6 house wine(that day was Rose & Red), $2 off beers. Our favorite pie was the Red Pie. The sauce was packed with so much flavor. Might be cuz I'm a big garlic fan. Next time definitely will add Pepperoni to it. Our waitress told us the menu changes about every 2 days. So keep this in mind if you see something online and think it will be on the menu when you dine in. I had seen a pie I wanted to try online and they didn't have it on the menu when we arrived, but regardless there are plenty of tasty options. All the staff was so friendly and happy. I loved sitting by the pizza oven and watching pizza be made. Also such a creative touch how they bring the tab in a book! Definitely check it out during HH. Such a great deal & delicious! read more

I came with a friend to celebrate both of our birthdays. There are a few parking spots but it was full when I got there so I parked a block away. When we got there around 6:30, it wasn't crowded at all but looked a lot more full when we were leaving. We started with bread and butter and ordered the Caesar salad. Both were good! For our main course, we got the red pie. It was good but I wanted more cheese (see photo), which they brought and that helped. The waiter kept our water filled even though there was a carafe on our table and we could have done that. Otherwise, he didn't engage with us much. Cute interiors but the music was weird. Overall though, good experience and I'll be back! read more

Lost a star only because I was hosed on the waitlist as a single. I was told I would get a table or a bar top when available but they skipped me several times to give couples or groups a table. That's bs- I'm waiting like everyone else..... With that being said the happy hour is legit- $2 off a glass or 1/2 off a bottle under $100. Hmmm tough decision. Wine list is exceptional!!!! But no cocktails. I got the stacciatella- O!M!G! Amazing, really. I'll dream about this tonight, Also got the basic margarita pizza with pepperoni on half. The dough/crust was top notch!! Ranch was too heavy dill for my taste but the stracciatella on the pizza was fire!!! I travel all over the country for work and try lots of places and I'll be back for sure- maybe tomorrow But expect a wait.... 4-5:30 is BUSY!!! read more

Me and my bestie absolutely DEMOLISHED this pizza yall. So so good and flavorful and saucy, so worth it. The crust cooked to perfection with the lil almost burnt cronchy bubbles (the best part omfg). Then the service is incredible ! Server greeted me super quickly and was so nice, answered questions I had, and this cute guy working there overheard me asking about the bread and offered me some which was just so sweet and it was delicious omg ! DON'T FORGET THE WINE!!! list too with plentiful options for everyone's tastes. All the servers are friendly and can help with suggestions if needed, once you've placed your order sit back and wait as whatever you've ordered will be delivered & TASEXCELLENT We ordered the seasonal salad fresh mixed lettuce with a tasty light mustard herb vinegarette featuring sliced apples. ADD 2 DEEELISSH PIZZAS, the Fresca, prosciutto & mozzarella tasty with a touch of salty the PERFECT PIZZA, imo our 2nd pizza of the nite was "Nigullian"? not sure of the spelling featuring an salami variety cut into small cube bites with tasty seasoning for a complete spicy flavor profile. There were 4 of us, so 2 pizzas plus the salad fed us perfectly. Dessert also was shared the Roasted Peach sorbet with olive oil crumble & the pistachio drizzled with honey ice cream, both very good the later pleased us the most as the creaminess added with honey just put it over the top for heavenly tastiness. read more

Ouch! The food is so good that I bite my damn finger. (Seriously I bite my finger while eating those pizza) First thing first, the bread was so delicious! Perfectly doughy texture with some creamiest buttery butter spread to start your carb filled journey. Then bam! I was unexpectedly greeted by the Caesar salad. For someone who doesn't even like salads and initially opposed from ordering it, I ended up scraping every piece of leaves off that plate. I know ... I was shocked myself. Oh the pizzas ... they are undeniably good. Coming from New York, I try not to be biased and snobby but these pizzas were phenomenal! Flavorful and fresh toppings on a thin crest pizza cooked perfectly in a brick oven ... Fuhgeddaboudit! No wonder the place is packed! The services was reasonable fast and our waitress was very friendly. Great atmosphere for a fun get together or a casual date night. The pasta (spaghetti bolognese) was mid though ... anyways, can't be perfect you know. read more
We love this place. It's small, delicious, and feels like an authentic pizza spot from Italy, with the huge pizza oven taking up a fourth of the restaurant visible from anywhere you sit. We usually just sit at the bar and share a bottle of wine. They have a great bottle list, and the bartenders are very helpful. We got the crudo, a red pie, and the guanciale pizza, but every pizza we have here is great. The dough is perfect, and it gets those big burnt bubbles that make the pizza extra tasty. LOVE We've never had to wait to be sat, but it's small, so I recommend going early. read more
To start, parking is not terrible but not the best. There are a handful of spots right outside the restaurant and then the rest is street parking, just watch for the signs! They have an awesome happy hour from 4-530 daily but good luck getting seated if you show up at 5! This place is seriously always packed regardless of a weekday or not - to be fair it is fairly small. Their HH is half off all their pizzas and half off all bottles of wine under $100. How do you go wrong here? Now onto the stars of the show: Garden Salad - big portion and perfect for sharing. Tasty and light dressing. Straciatella - order this. It's one large piece of bread cut into 4 pieces with this amazing tomato jam and mozz blend on top - fantastic. Not pictured bc it was devoured as soon as it hit the table. Guanciale - delicious pizza! Calabrese - also very tasty but I preferred the Guanciale. Dessert was this mascarpone type cheesecake which was absolutely phenomenal. First place in Austin that lives up to the hype & even more, absolutely INCREDIBLE - if you haven't been, run here! We popped in on Monday evening for dinner, and we're able to get a table for 2 quickly. We were planning to behave with the ordering, but once we had one look around, we knew we'd be remiss if we didn't indulge. With that, we got going with some starters: The Stracciatella with tomato jam was phenomenal. Every single bit was better than the last, didn't want it to end. We also split the Orecchiette pasta, which was another stunner. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was hearty but light & perfect for a summer dish. Then came the mains, we ordered a Margherita and the N'duja (white sauce) pie. These didn't disappoint and are by far the BEST pizzas you will have in Austin (or Texas). To say we were stuffed is an understatement, but our server mentioned a Key Lime Ice Cream with graham cracker salt topping, so we had to go for it. Again, another star on the menu!! Literally, every dish was executed beautifully and every bite was bursting with flavor! Wine list was great, and the staff was all phenomenal as well. HIGHLY recommend coming here and indulging, you will not/ cannot regret it. read more
