It has been a few months since we discovered this place but ever since we have been die hard fans of this pizza!! We were in Rome and Naples earlier this year and we were longing for this type of pizza ever since. They hit both marks too- Neopolitan style was the perfect size, quality ingredients, and chew of the crust. The Roman style was even more impressive where you can order a whole pizza that feeds 3-4 (squares are substantial size) or you can order just one if you're feeling like you want to try. The pastas are homemade and delicious but suggest you order and eat there. Also the polpette are divine! We are avid supporters almost once a week because we just crave their food. I've been to Pizza do Roma on two occasions. On the first visit my husband and I decided to stop by there while on our E-bike ride. We parked our bike and walked in. We were greeted by a friendly person at the counter. He took our order and told us to sit wherever we wanted. The restaurant is small but has seating in two areas. As you order you can view the pizzas and decide what you would like by the slice. They also have a full menu displayed on the wall with other food options that you can order. This time we ordered two slices of pepperoni, one slice of margherita, and one slice of pizza di roma. The pepperoni pizza was my favorite. The margherita pizza was good and the pizza di roma had a meat and veggies which was tasty. The cheese was melted and when you would pull the pieces apart it would stretch. The crust was strong under the ingredients and the exterior crust on the edges were crispy. This pizza was delicious. On the second visit I went with my husband and kids. This time we took our car and found 1 hour parking across from the restaurant. We had a similar experience in terms of friendly service. We each order our own slices. I got the pepperoni and pizza di roma. Both were very good. We also ordered a whole pepperoni pizza to take home. Overall pizza di roma was a great place to visit. The lasagna here is definitely the star if you want something unique. It's not your "typical" lasagna; it uses a sauce very similar to a bolognese, which gives it a rich, distinct flavor. If you're looking for a different take on a classic, I highly recommend it. We also ordered a pizza it was good, though the olives made it quite salty. Once I popped those off, the flavor was great. The attendant was nice and took the time to explain the menu to us, which we really appreciated. The only real downside was the lack of a changing table. I've been calling this my hidden gem pizza spot, but now I'm spilling the beans. Pizza di Roma is near my house strangely at the bottom of a random apartment complex next to I-35. Yet they make a few different stlyes of pizza... napoletana and pinsa romana. I've only had the pinsa romana slices, and recently I ordered a full tray. Just look at the picture. This is my new favorite pizza place. The owner, Tony, was so nice and shared that his pizza crust recipe has a unique mixture of several types of flours (ie 0, 00 and semolina) that he has specifically crafted to achieve the perfect crust consistency. Honestly, the bread that comes with your order is some of the best I've ever had. It's chewy, fluffy and has a great flavor. We got the pizza that is rectangular--I forget what it's called. It was the prosciutto and mushroom one. It is the fluffier crust versus the Neapolitan-style, which is a thinner crust. We also got the pasta Bolognese, which had a really great flavor as well. First time going to Pizza di Roma, and I can say it definitely won't be the last time. We ordered a Margherita pizza and mozzarella sticks. Everything was perfectly cooked. I hate it when cheese sticks are overcooked. Same with the pie, Margherita has to be done just right, especially with the thinner bottom crust. They use San Marzano tomatoes (my absolute favorite) in their sauces. San Marzano tomato flavor just stands out from other breeds of tomatoes. Pizza di Roma really captures the essence of the tomato. We ordered a whole Roma style pepperoni and onion - simply the best. The owner shared that they ferment the dough for two days! Crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. Pizza is my favorite food by a wide margin. I've tried some of the best pizza in NY and tried pizza in 4 different cities in Italy, including Naples. Of all the places I've had pizza, Pizza di Roma is as good as any of them. I tried 3 different squares and they were all amazing. I got to talk to the owner or manager, I'm not sure but he was a super nice guy from Albania. We talked about pizza and I could tell he really had a passion for good pizza and it was obvious with the quality of his pizza. Picked up three slices of pizza here the other day, pepperoni, margherita, and a di Roma pizza. Took about 5 min or so to get them heated up and then took them home to enjoy! The crust was super crunchy in a good way, and the flavors from each of the toppings came through well. Honestly I think one slice is enough for a meal, I had half of two and was fulllll. Great pizza and wonderful service! Came in for a quick lunch and ordered a slice of pizza funghi and the rigatoni amatriciana. They warmed up the pizza slice and it was delicious, perfect crisp to the crust, melty cheese and plenty of mushrooms. Then came the pasta which was made fresh. I went with my girlfriend for dinner for the first time and we tried the lasagna, Tagliatelle with Porcini Mushrooms and a slices of Margherita and Pepperoni Pinsa. The pizza by the slice was cooked well and both were delicious. The star of the show was the Tagliatelle with Porcini Mushrooms. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. What a wonderful new pizza place! This neighborhood location is convenient to I35 and free street parking. We tried their Pinsa Genovese, which is chicken, pesto, ricotta cheese, olives, mushrooms, and, of course, Mozarella cheese. Pinsa bread is somewhat healthier than pizza bread and pillowy soft, but still very tasty. We also had their cheesecake, which was packaged with care for our to go order. Everything was delicious! There's allot of mid pizza in Austin and the good ones are too far away or in food trucks or bars so it's nice that there's a good pizza joint nearby that's accessible to me . I got the Napoleta style pizza named after their namesake. It has a very tasty Italian sausage, onions, and peppers and fresh moz. This prices are awesome and priced accordingly. I got the Roman style personal slice for my partner that loves pepperoni. The Roman style slice is plenty for a meal.
