The Baja fish tacos are YUM! My husband and I have been grabbing them every other week or so and they taste just as yummy as the time before. The coleslaw on top is a perfect addition to the fried fish. The tacos are quite large and come with chips. I typically order one taco and my husband two. I LOVE this restaurant. It's my number one spot for Taco Tuesday. In terms of the food: They are more Baja style Mexican food and so they really excel with their seafood options. The Salmon, ono, and alcupulco shrimp tacos are fantastic and have a generous amount fish. I get the mango salsa on everything I order. Went to Buenos Grill for the first time, 8/2024. Had a breakfast burrito with chorizo. It was excellent. Very tasty without being overly hot. I would give 5 stars except that the chips were stale and seemed not to have salt. I also wish it was a bit prettier inside. I know it's costly to update a commercial space but the atmosphere is lacking and sterile. I'll be back because many items on the menu look good. May just do takeout, though. read more

This place is really hit or miss for me- but the staff is always phenomenal and the atmosphere is quite charming. I will agree with many Yelpers that the way they season and cook their food could many times improve. Their chicken can be somewhat dry and the flavoring can be lackluster. However- they have happy hour everyday which is awesome as we came here on a Sunday. They essentially do somewhere between $1 to $2 off drinks and they have food specials. I got the chicken mango flauta, while my friend had the beef taquitos with guacamole- add two draft beers and some chips and our total was less than $25. The flauta was really good- the chicken was a little bland on its own but with the mangos and paired with a salsa it was pretty good. I also love their chips here but if you're in a big group- beware it's not free refills although most meals also come with some chips. They also had some gorgeous cupcakes that I didn't get around to trying and a few other dessert options. In the past- I've also thoroughly enjoyed their quesadillas and fish tacos. The vibe of this place is very "come as you are" which I love. It is dog friendly outside and there's always plenty of seating. Buenos Grill is where my husband took me to celebrate when I told him I was pregnant with our first child, because I was craving their Chicken Tortilla Soup. The soup is chock full of shredded chicken, pick chunks of onions, cilantro, warm spicy broth, and a hint of lime. It's my favorite soup when I am sick even now, 20 years after craving it while pregnant. My husband loves their fish tacos and their chips and salsa. My son ordered the chicken tortilla soup which he felt needed more chicken to balance out with the other pepper/onion soup bits. The food is meh. I was excited because of the amount of vegetarian/vegan options, but was disappointed with the flavors. The orange tofu burrito lacked complexity, it tasted like a glob of orange marmalade with 2 thin slices of tofu and 2 cups of beans. I would pass on the regular Nachos, 10+ dollars for corn chips heated in a microwave only topped with barely melted cheese. The one highlight was how crispy the vegan tacos were and how much you got in each taco, I did wish there was an interesting salsa or ingredient paired with it though as it was bland. The $1 up charge for salsa was a bit much for how little you get. The service was good, definitely a more casual dining experience where you order at the front. Truly terrible, flavorless food, in a nice location. We ordered a carne asada burrito w guacamole and a Buenos fish burrito. Both completly flavorless. The soda machine was off as well and needed more syrup. The burritos werent wrapped, just loosely tucked on the bottom and fell apart when we tried picking them up. My boyfriend and I go here pretty often because it's close to where we live. We really enjoy the Baja and the Bueno burritos. I also started getting them in tacos and those are yummy as well. There are a lot of good Mexican restaurants in Reno, along with taquerias. Bueno's grill is on the brink of being good. They have been around for a while, but it seems they have not been able to grasp the flavor just yet. I've eaten here a handful of times, mostly because it's on my daily route. The salsas need to be redone. They lack flavor and texture. There are plenty of great salsa verde and roja recipes out there. Don't be afraid to draw inspiration Buenos grill! The tacos are too big... who would complain about this?... well, when there is so much cabbage or pico, or meat, it doesn't make it a taco. It makes it a mess. I came in because I saw there sign for fish tacos, and it sounded like a good idea. The place was empty when I came in. Pleasant enough atmosphere, but seemed like they specialized in beer more than food. I ordered there salmon fish tacos, two. What I got was one small piece of microwaved frozen salmon patty and two corn tortillas. There was some coleslaw on top oh the tortillas, and chips on the side. This review is really hard to write. Not because I don't know how....but because its so odd to describe how I feel about it. There wasn't anything "wrong" with anything....it was just all quite lackluster. The place is clean and cute. Pretty star lights hang from the ceiling. Five people were working when we got there, and only one couple in the dining room. They were out of the vegetables for fajitas, which is what I wanted to order. So i decided on a taco salad with a flour tortilla instead of the shell. I did the baja fish as my meat and added sour cream. It was ok. There is no seasoning on anything. I think for the vibe of the place they could do a couple small things to make everything more WOW! Like maybe a fresh corn salsa, or grilled onions and a yummy house made sauce. I didn't even finish it, it was just bland. My hubby got a burrito. He paid extra for sour cream, cheese, ,and guac. It too had no flavor. Thank goodness for the sour cream it at least helped. Its not cheap, but Im totally willing to pay $25 for two people if its: fresh, special, and makes me satisfied. Unfortunately I will not be going back unless they decide to step up there game. Their is a place in California called "dos Coyotes" they need to go take a tour and mimic some of what they're doing. Hint Hint....go there stat, you could make this place great! read more

I thought I would try it again craving Mexican food in the area and thought maybe it has changed or I just ordered something bland in previous visits. This order: chicken taco, chicken burrito, and fish burrito with side of beans and rice. $30 Very basic chicken taco. Cabbage, chicken, some salsa. My side order of beans and rice were both thrown into one small container rather than separately. I thought they forgot one and realized there were about 4 bites of each mixed in one container. Burritos: black beans, rice, chicken and salsa for chicken burrito. Fish burrito same substitute fish instead of chicken. Didn't realize that you have to ask and pay extra for cheese? Figured this out when I brought it home and everyone asked where it was. Pros: Atmosphere is inviting inside and out. Good location, though Eclipse pizza which never disappoints and Walden's which is great for breakfast is in the same shopping center. Customer service: Decent, fast, fairly friendly but it's apparent the regulars are treated with more interests. The bottom line in my opinion? You can get a better burrito with more flavor and ALL the fixings at Laughing Planet, Super Burrito, and some of the Mexican restaurants on Wells Ave for less than $10 as well with cheese! read more

All I have is one word, BLAND! Came here for lunch and ordered the tostada salad. The place looked cute and was in a good location so decided to check it out. The salad was small, had no meat and no dressing.......save your coin and head over to Miguel's or el pollo loco. My boyfriend ordered a burrito and added lots of extra add ins for extra money of course and still the burrito tasted like nothing and was a watery mess. We also got chips and Salsa and it was terrible....plus their were being stingy with the salsa and only gave us two tiny little sauce containers. And for the cherry on top the older gentlemen taking our order was a complete Jack ass. I would highly NOT recommend this place there are way way better places in Reno to go for Mexican food. Recently, for several months a friendly woman ran the register and my wife and I began to frequent this establishment more often. Today we discovered that the guy is back.... I really really hate to give such a poor review. I really wanted to love this spot. It's so quaint, loved the outside tables and their menu all sounded so amazing. But the food....just awful. I have a thing about bad nachos. Once I'm serious bed bad nachos I'm DONE with a place (it's been 3 years since I've been back to a restaurant that was once my fave), because A-how hard is it to make Nachos and B-HIW HARD IS IT TO MAKE NACHOS?!?!? So the nachos were dry with very little cheese or chicken. The chips were so bland we had to salt the nachos. The best part were the canned unseasoned black beans.... I ordered a shrimp taco that mentioned parm cheese, I was thinking a sprinkling because it's seafood...nope I had the most disgusting bite of food, gooey and gloopy think parm sauce on my shrimp under a quilt of over dressed iceberg lettuce "slaw". The Mrs had the fried fish taco and said it was dry and tasted like a fish stick. Bottom line we ordered 2 tacos and nachos and it was all no bueno. First trip here and brought the family, so three dishes were tried. Adam: I got the Steak Burrito, as I wanted to try a dish that they had a good rep. for, and it was good! Not the best ever, but it was well-assembled, with an even-distribution of ingredients throughout, and tasty. Even tastier once I started hitting their salsa bar and experimenting with different salsa added to my burrito. Wife: The Buenos Burrito, good fish and tasty mango salsa.... maybe a little heavy on the rice. Child: Baja Fish Taco (children's menu) She loved the Fish! Half of the fish eaten with a fork, and half picked up in little tortilla pinches. No fish escaped her! The cabbage slaw was discarded by her, but she's 3yrs old.
