[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is so cute. It's got this jungle theme inside which is so much fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a small food menu and an even bigger tequila menu! I love their tacos, can't go wrong with any of the tacos. Also their chips and guac is a perfect appetizer.

On an early Wednesday evening, four of us set out to celebrate my birthday. First impression, TC has an extensive selection of Tequila. Definitely the place to visit if Tequila is your drink of choice. The food is solid albeit a bit pricey as all sides are extra. But what isn't pricey these days and it's acceptable as long as the food is tasty. My main motivation in writing this review is to give kudos to our Bartender/Server, Jaylen. She was a true Rockstar running the busy bar and waiting tables. She went above and beyond, we never felt neglected and she even managed to stop and chat with us. She found out it was my bday and she honored me with a shot and a bowl of ice cream. Thanks Jaylen for making it special!

Love this place! The food was excellence, the queso & the quesadilla was super good. The service was AMAZING. Gina was our bartender & she was so kind & so helpful. She knows a lot of the tequila she serves. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is wonderful, low lighting & very fun music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But overall, Gina is the BEST!!

Our waitress was really nice and going as fast as she could but she didn't have enough help. She was making the drinks for the whole place and serving. Drinks and food were very slow to come out. The margaritas tasted great. The food was good. But not great. Lacking flavor and portion size for the price.

Wow, the service at Tequila Catador has really declined in the past year. We came down for trivia night, and despite the place being packed, there was only one bartender who was also the only waiter. We waited approximately 20 minutes just to get some water. When we asked if we could order, he told us to wait. It took another 10 minutes to get menus, even though we already knew what we wanted. We ordered chips and guacamole but only got chips and salsa, the guacamole never arrived. We ordered three drinks but only received two. After an hour and 20 minutes, still extra hungry, we decided to go around the corner to the pizza place, which was also packed but we were promptly greeted and served. I would definitely not return and do not recommend going on trivia night due to the inadequate staffing.

ended up here on a recommendation because I said I enjoy a good tequila and did not disappoint. We ordered appetizers ceviche and calamari the ceviche was fresh and flavorful with the portion size more than enough for 4 people to share our second appetizer was the calamari was crispy not over cooked and the dipping sauce delicious. Then for our mains we got tacos and the molcajetes all of it was delicious but to top it off they brought out the churros and ice cream. This is a must from the friendly knowledgeable staff to the beautiful decor delicious drinks and food you will leave satisfied a little tipsy and wonderfully happy. Ted was amazing

My first visit to this outstanding tequila bar in Midtown. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is artfully designed and very colorful and eclectic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables and chairs are scattered around the floor and the long bar with chairs line the inside wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hundreds of bottles of tequila adorn the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is an extensive menu with many signature tequila concoctions. Of course they serve other libations. There is a full selection of delicious sounding food options. We tried the chicken enchiladas which were served with rice and beans, sour cream and guacamole. We also ordered the guacamole and chips. The guacamole was delicious, a bit spicy and served with lots of chips. If you're looking for large portions and cold drinks, this is a place to check out. All the Mexican favorites were available for purchase and any kind of tequila you could ask for and some you've never heard of. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really enjoyed the spot, right in the middle of midtown and easy to get to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is the only challenge. The waiter enjoyed entertaining all the guests and serves the birthday dessert with music and dancing and hoopla. A very fun place to be. The bar manager did inform us that if you're not a tequila fan, they will substitute vodka or another alcohol choice in its place.

A time to be had! I ended up staying in town for my bday and wanted to find a fun spot to bring together a group of friends to celebrate with good food and good drinks and [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tequila Catador was one place that popped in mind due to its fun atmosphere and being in the middle of everything![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went online and made a large group reservations. I called the morning of the event to confirm and was told it was good to go. Upon arriving we were in the back for the larger group events. Our waiter was the absolute best and it looked like he was manning our large group plus the rest of the restaurant. We were able to try some tequilas and got a lesson on the different types- Anejo, viejo for example. The bottles were left for us to sample and taste. I was able to try a shot of the hibiscus which was floral and tasted great, another friend ordered the coconut flavored tequila which was so yummy. I ordered a Watermelon margarita and it was served in a cool skull! I was excited to drink out of the skull and the drink was amazing. Our party did orders of chips and salsa and chips and guacamole. The chips were pink! Everything was great. We took our time and our waiter was wonderful. I ordered one taco al pastor and one chicken asada. Boy the al pastor with pineapple and charred onion I am still thinking about to this day. My friend and I split the street corn and that was so tasty, with herb mayo and lime and cotija. I remember a birthday song coming on and the waiter doing a dance around the group along with a scoop of ice cream and two churros. Yum!! I thought it was a fun touch to have the bottle of the Clase Azul Reposado Tequila and use the lid as a bell. We were there for at least two hours and were so well taken care of. Thank you so much Tequila Catador for such a memorable bday experience and being such great hosts to my friends.

Forever my one of my favorite places to eat in Reno! Their menu just went through some changes but it's always been amazing. They have over 100 different types of tequila but many other drinks to wet your whistle. There's not been an app or an entree that I haven't tried that hasn't been top notch!

I don't even know where to start. Tequila Catador has been one of the best bars/restaurants I have been to in a very long time for so many reasons. To start of the place itself is very nice and decorated with Mexican decorations and murals that are very cool. The staff was very attentive as soon as we walked in with Maribel kindly greeting us and sitting us at the bar. Here is where things got real interesting after meeting the bartender and bar manager Ivan. This man is a true mixologist and made some great mezcal cocktails and turned us on to some very delicious tequilas. My wife and I tried a bunch of the cocktails but I will say my favorite was the Jalapeño Passion Fruit Margarita with the Al Pastor Margarita being a close second. Then came the delicious food. We started of with Chips, Salsa, and Guac. The Guac was very tasty and creamy and the chips were good quality for dipping. The salsa did leave something to be desired as it wasn't very spicy. We also ordered the Queso Fundido which was one best I have had because it was not just a greasy pan with some minced chorizo, it was a full pan with chunky chorizo and plenty of peppers and onions, topped with a generous amount of cheese that was so good made into tacos with the flour tortillas. We also ordered the Blackened Ahi Tuna Tostada which had a yummy Habanero Mayo and a delicious Mango Habanero habanero on the side. I think I have definitely found my go to place when we are craving so great mezcal cocktails and masterfully made mexican inspired dishes.

A beautiful relaxing night hanging with my boys. Was able to get seated right away for a table for 4 originally and we added another seat for a last-minute guest in our group and was able to be accommodated right away. There seemed to only be maybe 3 folks working on a Saturday night so our group tried to be as helpful giving our order right away. The menu offered a good amount of delicious Hispanic food from chips and salsa to molcajete to tacos and burritos. I ordered the fried calamari that were so deliciously made each piece melted in your mouth. It was not fishy at all neither overly breaded, just the perfect amount. My main course was the tacos trio from the sea with refried beans topped with cotija cheese. I got one of each of mahi mahi, tuna and salmon. Each delivering its own flavor profile and was generously filled in each tortilla. The decor inside seemed like a piece of Mexico was placed in the middle of Reno and a lively vibe. Received our food quite quickly and our drinks at a reasonable paced. Such a great location for date night or night for friends would recommend if you don't mind the wait

What a fun place! The ambience is perfect for a romantic night out or a night out with friends. The service was decent. Although they weren't very busy, it took them a while to come check in on us. They also charged us full price for all of our margaritas, even though they were on happy hour. The gentleman fixed the issue with the bill, but it was a bummer the bill was incorrect when we received it. The margaritas and food were amazing! We took advantage of the happy hour and tried a few different margaritas. The apple and tamarindo margarita was so good. It was a nice, sweet margarita. If you enjoy micheladas, you'd like the Vampiro margarita- it was perfectly spicy! They can also make any beer into a michelada, which we will definitely be trying next time! We ordered the carne asada plate. Wow! It was SO good. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. It was cooked so well. You get so much food with it - a quesadilla, rice, beans, and savoyas (onions). We will definitely be back again for drinks and dinner!

First off, huge shoutout to the staff at both locations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a group of about 12 showing up and ordering at different times, plus another large party there, and they handled it all really well. The patio has such a great Midtown vibe, and I'm always happy supporting local small businesses. We ordered a little bit of everything: ribeye gorditas with homemade tortillas, street tacos, quesadillas, loaded papas, elote, and I even attempted the AYCE tacos. The carnitas was some of my favorite in town, the guac was delicious, and my friend loved the skirt steak tacos. Plus, the three salsas they serve are all so good. Tacos are always subjective, but I'd absolutely recommend giving Ana's a try because there's something for everyone on the menu. The cocktails are fun too, and I'll definitely be back.

Upon walking in,I was impressed with the patrons, this was a no frills crowd who looked like they were all in on a secret that this place was going to be a really good foodie spot. This is one of those spots where u walk up and order at the counter and they bring your food out to you.I loved the decor as you can really tell the owners are proud of their Jalisco roots. As an added bonus-I do tend to like taquerias that have pics of the menu items on the walls-always been a good luck charm for me that the place would be pretty good. We ordered a few things-A Super Burrito with Al Pastor($13.50)-it was pretty tasty-way way filling-killed my buzz totally-which I guess was the goal-I'd order it again for sure.We Also got a Shrimp taco($5)My wife is from Jalisco,so kinda picky with her Mexican food but she thought it was pretty tasty-one of the most flavorful tacos she has had in a long time.We also got the 2 enchilada plate with ground beef and chicken($15.50)-This dish came with rice and bean-I really liked the rice quite a bit and beans went well with the chips because of the added cheese on the beans. One thing I didn't love was the fact that you had to pay for chips and salsa-I'm sure I'm just spoiled from all the places that gives those out for free but I guess that's the way it goes-pretty sure it was like $3-no biggie. In closing-if u ever find yourself in Reno and u want something other than the commercial stuff they sell in the casinos-I would highly recommend walking across the street from Silver Legacy and walk into this little hole in the wall hidden gem of a restaurant and enjoy yourself a taste of Jalisco -you won't be disappointed.
