Day date with the hubby 7/10. We came here in search of some good seafood, but both left confused and disappointed. Formally this location was the infamous Cantina. It's a beautiful restaurant and bar, but the food was just okay. I would have left a one star rating based on quality/quantity to price ratio, but our server gave us 10/10 service. It was not his fault that our food was bland. We came here craving bold flavors and salsas, but they missed the mark for us. My hubbs loves flan, but hated the fact that there was some kind of watered down chocolate drizzle on top of their flan. It was an expensive way to pass time before our movie started. The only positive thing I have to say about this expensive experience is that the service was amazing.
So good, I forgot to take a picture of the food Went in right before the Mexico game, luckily they were accommodating. Bartender was kind and so were most of the workers :) I ordered the tacos dorados
I have came here a couple times already and this place is absolutely delicious everything I have eaten here has been delicious and the service each time has been absolutely outstanding! They have great drink options I have had a couple different alcoholic beverages and they have all been tasty! I highly recommend this delicious gem for a date night or night it's the family it's a great option for all!
WOW. We got dinner on a Sunday evening during a concert at the nugget and while it was busy they still got us sat relatively quickly. Had a drink at the bar while we waited and it was fantastic. There were 3 of us and we ordered the seafood platter for 2, the seafood tower and shrimp and cheese tacos - which ooops was way too much food for 3. The portion sizes are phenomenal! The flavors were all so unique and bold! Everything we ordered was exceptional, no notes, and I highly recommend this place if you want seafood.
Was excited about try a Mexican restaurant that focuses on seafood. Big open space, not crowded, music a bit on the loud side, though it was good music. Service was a bit slow, never offered water. Lots of choices on menu, prices reasonable. We got #18 and 19 and skinny margaritas. Felt like the margarita could have had more tequila, but tastes good, wasn't sweet. Overall good, would come back.
Went for a quick early dinner date night since my husband was craving mariscos. I had high hopes, but it was a mixed bag. They start you off with chips and salsa, which is always a win. I got the coctel de camaron and honestly--loved it. Super flavorful, fresh, and I'd definitely go back just for that. The ceviche tostada was good... nothing amazing, but it did the job. Now the letdown: the camarones en camisa (bacon-wrapped shrimp). Just... sad. Overcooked, dry, and tasted like they were made ahead of time and reheated. For a $30 plate, that's pretty disappointing. The place itself is nice--spacious, clean, and they mentioned they're newly opened with plans for live music, which could help the vibe later on. Overall, it was just meh. Some hits, some misses. I really wanted to love it, but right now it's nothing to rave about
Happy we came here for lunch, such a great new spot! Parking is a bit limited. The place is clean and the service was awesome! We tried the coconut shrimp plate, I do wish they offered this also as an appetizer because all our dishes came with rice and salad already but it came as a meal with 8 crispy shrimp. It was good. My husband got the gobernador shrimp tacos, which consist of shrimp, cheese, onions and peppers. This had a really good tangy flavor. I enjoyed the filet zarandrado. It was delicious! Not overly saucy but just right. The citrusy flavor was really unique and good. It melted on the tongue. I did order a birria taco to try and next time I will be ordering more of these:)
I read there was a new restaurant that opened up on Victorian Ave. in the old Los tres hombres building and it said "they had Taco Tuesday specials three street tacos for $10 and Margaritas for $8". When we got there, we have the taco special, but not the Margaritas which I think they should honor their advertising. The building is very big, I think for their business establishment. The seating has wooden booths with a few tables with chair padding. The staff are friendly and they brought us chips and salas. I loved that they served the green salas with the perfect flavor. The chips were homemade and crispy. My husband ordered the Taco special and he tried each flavored taco with the Al Pastor being his favorite . The chicken and beef a little dry. I ordered the Chicken Burrito. It didn't come with sauce only guacamole and sour cream. The sour cream was liquified. The burrito was big and I took most of it home. Rice & Beans is in the burrito and not served separately. I asked several people about the Tuesday Margarita special, but there wasn't one so we requested a Cadillac Margarita x 3= $48 Food x2= $28 Total with tax $84. They have a big stage, where they're going to bring in bands to play Spanish and English same with Karaoke nights. There are many big screen TVs with mariachi bands playing. It would be perfect for football and sporting game parties. There is parking out front or a parking lot on the side, if you go through the alley! Good to see someone in the building and I wish them success.
Went for lunch and the place was empty, one other couple. They were sitting with nothing in front of them .... Their food arrived after we ordered and still no beverage. Seated immediately and beverage order taken. Chips and salsa came out. Chips were fried in house and were crunchy. Salsa had a little kick to it. A different waiter came to take our order. Still no drinks. Drinks came the same time food did. Drinks were well made....but not worth the price. Octopus came out first... looked and smelled wonderful. Cooked really well. Tender and juicy. Disappointed with the plain white rice and chopped lettuce as the sides. Marisco tower came out finally. It looked amazing. Tasted fresh and full of flavor. Came with tostadas and crackers. Large portion. Took half home for dinner! Food was well prepared but the service needs work. I do not know how they will be able to handle a busy rush.
The best Mexican food I've had in Reno! The place is nice and looks clean. The staff was friendly. Our server, Heriberto, took the time to ensure we had a good experience. He asked if we had been there before. When we told him it was our first time he asked additional questions to get to know us. We mentioned we were there for our anniversary and at the end he brought us a flan. I will definitely visit again the next time we're in Reno.
Love that Sparks has a new Mexican seafood restaurant! This place is conveniently located on Victorian square, right next to the Nugget Event Center. Visited on a Friday evening and it was a little busy, to be expected. We ordered a shrimp appetizers and I had the tuna tostada. I really liked the spicy flavors of the shrimp but be prepared to get messy! The tuna tostada was good but I think I'll try another item next time. Our server was friendly and attentive. They had a live band the evening we visited which was fun but it does get loud. All the food looked great and I would definitely recommend trying this place!
It's a good size venue with nice decor, nothing too fussy. Our waiter was very gracious and did a great job of explaining some of the dishes. The green salsa with chips was very flavorful and not too spicy at all. I love a good street taco and the beef tacos are very good. My husband had the Torta Ahogada and loved it. During dinner we had live music. They did a movie x of traditional Mexican music and classic rock. They were very good. The prices are very reasonable
Our first visit was fantastic! This family-owned restaurant opened in January, and every recipe originates from Mexico, which is known for its amazing seafood. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, especially the homemade tortillas. The fish tacos, chicken enchilada, chile relleno, shrimp empanadas, and spicy margarita were all delicious. The service was exceptional our waiter was Chris - , the prices were reasonable, and we'll definitely be back!
The way to my heart is seafood. Add a Mexican twist and I'm officially in heaven! Today's lunch was a total splurge, courtesy of a friend, and Camaron Pelado did NOT disappoint. The absolute star of the show for me was the Marisco Tower. And when I say this thing is HUGE... I mean it. It's packed with everything I love octopus, tuna, shrimp, and more. You can even add scallops for an additional fee, and they are also MASSIVE. Now onto the platter I believe #20 The menu says it can feed two, but let's be real... I'd say 4-6 people! We have meals for days. Everything was incredibly flavorful, the seafood tasted fresh, and there was a nice kick of spice throughout. And the presentation? STUNNING. The empanadas also don't disappoint! There's plenty of spacious indoor seating plus a patio, so whether you're looking for a fun lunch or a place to indulge, this is definitely worth checking out especially if you love fresh seafood with a Mexican twist and a little kick! read more

This place is a vibe and I feel like you want to experience a party here to make it all make the most sense because the food is served in huge portions, it's rich in flavor, absolutely beautiful and feels like it's meant to be paired with equally exciting drinks! I truly wish that I'd stopped here on a Friday or Saturday evening to enjoy a cantarito or margarita alongside the fresh array of mariscos on offer, but last I was here for lunch with some business guests and still ordered enough food for seemingly a few people more. The Marisco tower was chalk full of fresh, tuna, octopus, avocado, shrimp, and of course, we had to add the fresh scallops to the top which were succulent and sweet. It was super fun to Chip away at the outside until this thing fell apart before our eyes like a Jenga tower. Citrusy bright and refreshing this was made for eating with a crisp of beer, but somehow it went down all the same. We also got one of their platters because the group had diverse tastes, and we wanted to meet them all. It was absolutely massive. My pick was aguachiles, and it came with two types, red and green. If you don't know this is a raw marinated shrimp preparation that is absolutely fire. I seek it out around town, but many places have stopped doing it in the raw, so when I find one they're top of the list, and they offer 3-4 types here! The sleeper on the platter was the Camarones la Cucaracha, which I think we all know how to translate but essentially this is shrimp that are deep fried in their shell with the heads on and then doused in a Rich red and slightly smoky salsa. I can attest that they are a sloppy dish to eat, but also so fun and again with a fresh margarita on the side or a cold beer it wouldn't be hard to down a dozen by yourself shell and all. The platter also had a whole fried mojarra (tilapia), a giant fresh salad, and shrimp ceviche too. They say it serves two but it's way bigger! Serviced was solid and attentive. Quick with drinks and food. Generally a great experience. Four stars only because some of the flavors were a little flat for me, either that or we ordered too many similar tastes in one sitting, as well as the fact it was totally empty at lunch time, so the vibe wasn't really where it's meant to be. I definitely need a revisit for some more perspective. read more

Food was incredible, and the service was top tier. It was cute inside and they have a patio outside, I would highly recommend this place, and will be back! Oh and the chargers on the bar were very convenient, I've never seen something like that! read more

We rolled in here on a Thursday night and these guys were closing. The bar was clean and inviting and they let us all have a round. We came back on a Sunday night for dinner. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and my husband had the garlic shrimp, plus queso and chips. The service was amazing. We had a few rounds of margaritas at the bar also. Everyone was kind and helpful. Everyone loved their food...we even saw what we are ordering next time we are there. I'm so glad we have another amazing Mexican restaurant in town!!! read more

My husband and I were looking for a new place to grab dinner. We decided to give this place a chance. It is the old Tres Hombres location on Victorian Ave. They remodeled it a bit on the inside it looks nice. I ordered a beef quesobrirria taco with rice and beans. The taco was delicious and had a ton of flavor. The refried beans were good nothing out of this world but still good. The Mexican rice had good texture but was lacking in flavor. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos he said they had a ton of flavor and he thought the shrimp was cooked perfectly. His plate came with yellow rice which I thought was way better than the red rice. My husband liked the red better lol I also ordered a soursop margarita which was very good. I'd for sure order it again. Over all this place was very good and I will put it on our restaurant rotation. read more
Came by today to check out Cameron Pelado and was not disappointed. Restaurant was pretty spacey and felt pretty inviting. We were greeted and seated promptly, and our waiter was on the ball the entire time. We got the tostada de atun, molcajete Del Mar, and some tacos. Everything was really good and portions were very generous. Only small complaint was the lack of goat birria, but that might not be available at all times. Will definitely be back. read more

The atmosphere/ambiance is pretty casual, perfect for happy hour. I've been here for margs and tacos, and another time for mimosas and.. tacos again lol! The quesabirrias are soooooo good and I'm super picky about chorizo. This one passes the test! Officially knocked my old #1 for chorizo in town down to 2nd place (: Service has been fast and friendly every time and I love the music inside. It's a nice change from the usual around here. What an amazing new restaurant! The food is wonderful and I cannot wait to go back to try more. Happened to be walking by today so we went in and everything about it was outstanding. We already have plans to go back twice. Very open space that is nicely decorated, and everyone we spoke to was so kind. read more
First time here and the experience was great. Happy to see some of their other location's favorites on the menu. Great new seafood options, all together excellent especially because we save a drive. The service was quick and friendly. Space was big, plenty of seating. Happy to have this kind of space in Sparks, finally a great option!! read more

This restaurant has been on my list to try since they opened their doors. Most of their menu items are seafood made Mexican style, they also offer non seafood traditional Mexican food items. We visited on a Friday right around 6pm, we didn't need a reservation and we had a party of 7. There is a parking garage nearby, street parking and a parking lot across the street as well. We did order some drinks that our server recommended and they all taste really good. We also had some appetizers which included a cheese dip with chorizo and fresh tortillas to go along with it. We had the shrimp empanadas which are a 11/10 the salsa that came with the empanadas completed the flavor really well but it can be a little on the spicy side if you're not a fan of salsa, for me it was the perfect combination. We also had an order of oysters that had some ceviche on top, also super tasty keep in mind the oysters we had were raw. Our main dishes included the bandera burrito which is essentially a wet burrito with green and red salsa. We had habanero aguachiles, very good but very spicy, they do have mild options as well. We had the cielo, mar y Tierra Molcajete which included, shrimp, beef and chicken along with other items and a side of rice and beans. The kids menu came with a drink called agua Fresca, we had the hibiscus water which I highly recommend to try and it came with a drawing tablet as well. This was perfect to keep the kids entertained while we were having dinner. Our server was excellent and gave us great recommendations. We can't forget about dessert! We had the Nieve Frita which is "fried ice cream" it's a good shareable portion. Every dish we had taste amazing and service was excellent. Can't wait to go back to try other menu items. read more
