Rarely do I write a review after just 1 visit, but I'm making an exception for this little gem! I've known of this place for years, but never stopped in before. I was glad that I did finally drop in. Located in a little strip mall on Valley Road, it's an unassuming place from the outside. The inside is small, but comfortable and it felt very "homey". When I walked in, the first thing that hit me was the smell of delicious food wafting through the air. The tastes did not disappoint. We were greeted and sat promptly by a personable young man that brought us water. The owner then brought us our drinks...a margarita for my dining companion and a Mandarin Jarritos for me. My sip of the margarita tasted amazing! Great balance and flavor. We also received a basket of chips and salsa. You could tell that they were made fresh to order. The chips were crispy and hot. The salsa was outstanding...fresh cilantro...balanced combination of flavors with a nice, subtle kick of spiciness at the back end. Not too spicy...just right. I usually have to ask for something hotter...not in this case. The food was amazing! My dining companion ordered the Chile Relleno plate and I got the Molcajete. The prices are outstanding and the amount of food? Huge plates! My Molcajete was sizzling hot and overflowing with chicken, beef, shrimp, nopales and ground beef mixed with veggies. A large plate of refried beans and spanish rice also accompanied this presentation. Fresh, hot, delicious corn tortillas rounded out each of our orders. We were also given a couple of squeeze bottles of sauces...green and red...to add to our meals if we wanted. Freshly made and the bottles were presented in a plastic tub filled with ice to keep them cold. Great addition to the already amazing food! There's also a nice selection of Mexican hot sauces on the table for you to choose from. We both took to-go boxes...so much food! Mine lasted for 2 more meals! This place is on valley road, pretty close to the college. The inside is furnished with rustic furniture and there is a decent sized patio with a couple of tables as well. Little too cold outside so my team ate inside. The service was very good and the server could understand my Spanish even though I'm not great at it. I ordered a Horchata and the fish soup, my companion ordered the taco salad. The horchata was very good and we also enjoyed the chunky salsa and chips. Was kind of disappointed in the soup as some of the fish tasted freezer burned. My colleague liked the flavor of her salad but the shell was pretty soggy on the bottom. Heard lots of good things about this kitchen but I've had much better in the city and probably won't recommend this place to anyone despite the great service. read more

Oh my goodness the coffee drink is soooo good. I can't remember the name of it. It was coffee with cinnamon I think. My husband and I shared the fajitas. Very amazing service. They have lots of regular customers. That constantly come in and they greet them by name. The atmosphere is relax. They play music while your there. I enjoyed the horchata. I pass by this restaurant daily on my way home from work and never noticed it. The building on the outside is plain and set in a tiny strip mall. But walk inside and it comes alive with wonderful cooking smells and colorful murals-such a surprise! They also have a small bar with a variety of tequilas and while the margaritas look very good the VIP Michelada is the cocktail main character. It's kind of a cross between a michelada and a shrimp cocktail and it's delicious! I also really loved their chips and salsa-couldn't put my finger on exactly why but I couldn't get enough of them. The salsa was very smooth but with bold flavors and the chips were very fresh. For entrees we had flautas and taco combo-both very good. This place was amazing. We come from the Central Valley in CA so we know good Mexican food and I can say that everything we had was amazing. Quesabirria, Tacos, Chilaquiles, Margarita and even the Chips and Salsa. The horchata was great too although I do prefer my horchata just a little bit sweeter. The server was very nice too. This place popped up on my TikTok and I realized I pass by it on the way home from work daily so I had to stop in and order food to-go. The decor is bright and super cute, the employee at the counter was so friendly and welcoming...and the food was great! I ordered the taco platter (with carne asada), rice and beans and a horchata. I wanted to try this place because I live right up the road. Nothing was wrong, but nothing was great either. The food was okay, but lacking any stand out flavor, even with salsa. The salsa cups were also less than half way filled. I bought my roomie a bean and cheese burrito and unfortunately it was mostly cheese. I felt a little bad because I reccomended trying this place over Roberto's since it was near. I was full, but felt a little lacking, like my cravings weren't satisfied. The customer service was also okay. Not rude, but awkward. That doesn't bother me as the food is most important to me, but I think it added to my general impression. You also can't get any mods (wanted to add fries to my burrito), which I absolutely respect and understand. But I probably won't eat here again as there is only 1 vegan option, and it was just alright, so I imagine I'd get bored quickly. The pricing is also okay, very standard. For the first time ever we actually dined in at Mi Ranchito instead of doing carry-out. Do this for the pleasure of their fresh tortilla chips and salsa. People who hate the taste of cilantro, REJOICE, as their salsa does not have any. It's mild but tasty. If you want heat, ask for a thimble of their habanero salsa. That'll put a pep in your step. Someday I will get something other than the carne asada burrito, but it is not this day. I'm unsure if they make the tortillas in-house, but they are absolutely the genuine article and always tender and delicious. Pair that with the habanero salsa and a cup of their house-made horchata and one is truly in bliss. I only ate half mine as I can't finish it in one sitting, and I wanted to save space for their churros which I think are a recent addition to their menu as I never knew they had them prior. They came out freshly fried, absolutely smothered in cinnamon sugar, on a plate drizzled with coco. They were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Sublime! It blows my mind that this place isn't packed more often. My burrito was $9.99. With that pricing, the quality of the food, the reservations that they've put into the place, I think you're missing out if you're not stopping in for a bite. read more
