I have visited 2 other local taquerias and Mi Ranchito is still number 1 at this point..The other two taquerias would not be part of my best 10. I called to place an order for take out. I ordered a vegan burrito, however, the woman taking my order claimed they didn't have vegan burritos. I told her where they were on the menu. Then she told me that they didn't have rice and black beans, they only had regular beans and rice. I asked what she meant by "regular". She repeated herself. I asked if she meant that the rice and beans were cooked in lard, thus, that they weren't vegan. Again, she said "No, they are just regular". I said that was fine, still not knowing what she meant. She told me the total and said it would be ready in ten minutes. When I received my burrito, I noticed that it was very cold. Though the vegan burrito is supposed to contain "mixed veggies, rice, black beans, cilantro, avocado, and salsa verde", the burrito I received contained primarily rice, a few beans, and a small amount of lettuce. I put it in the oven when I got home and it tasted better once it was warm. I cannot speak to their other menu items, but I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a meatless burrito. read more

Love Mi Ranchito Not in the best neighborhood but unlike its sketchy location the food is nothing short of one of the best authentic tasting Mexican food I've had. We literally just drove to our neighboring state and had lunch here in Reno. The restaurant is the unit at the end of an older property in a strip mall. It has a private parking lot shared by its business neighbors. There is also street parking available. Inside is not very big with some booths and table seating. We chose a booth and was approached by a young waitress who provided us a couple of menus. She wore a mask but I hope they sanitized those menus often. They weren't paper to be disposed after each use. We placed our orders shortly after. I chose an enchilada combo plate that came with rice and beans. Hubby ordered a carne asada burrito. My meal was delicious, cheap and plentiful. My husband's beef burrito looked good too but said he preferred the carne asada grilled. He still ate it hungrily, though. LoL We also enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. The restaurant is family-owned and they checked on us often to see if we needed anything. I seen this place as it's 400ft from the house so me and the wife decided to try it out. the torta was squishy and the meat which was chicken smelt like fish , there crunchy tacos where not crunchy or tasted of anything other than some un washed salad , even the fries were bad . My hubby and I LOVE going to Mi Ranchito any chance we get. Marta is the kindest owner who genuinely cares about her customers and the food she prepares. Her shrimp and vegetable soup is my favorite soup in town. It full of shrimp and great flavors... and the broth is delicious. The shrimp tacos and vegetarian burritos are also our favorites. Everything tastes fresh and lovingly prepared. The menu has so many choices so that everyone can find their favorites. The restaurant is located in a very run down strip mall, with a boarded-up neighboring storefront, but don't let that stop you from going to this restaurant. The food and service is great! First time here! I must say best menudo and Posole I have ever had eating out. I am very picky when it comes to both Menudo and posole. My husband had the chorizo and egg burrito and and you can definitely tell it was all fresh! We can't wait to comeback and try the enchiladas!! Omg.. best Carne Asada tacos I have ever had! My family of four went here for lunch, my kids and I got the taco platter and my husband got enchiladas. Everything was delicious, pricing was excellent. I was searching for cheap eats near the Skate rink and this place popped up. I really like Chili verde so came here to try it out. There was no one here when I arrived. I dined in and had food take-away for wife and kids as they were skating. I ordered the Chili Verde alacart ($6.50), the Chili Relleno alacart and some guacamole. For the kids we got the Asada fries, 5 street tacos of each: carne Asada, Chili verde, Al Pastor. Then the wife had the carne Asada combination plate. All the food tasted good. The Chili Verde was tender and had a good mix of onions/peppers in the green sauce. I am used to abit more spice, but very nice. Each of my ala cart items had a nice Dallop of guacamole/sour cream. The Relleno was stuffed with cheese and cooked perfectly. The garnish of lettuce, choppedr tomatoes and guacamole/sour cream was nice. The only issue I had was the guacamole. It was tasty, but not much avocado flavor. The Asada fries had plenty of meat and the kids loved them. The street tacos were only $1.35 so I tlet the kids have what they wanted. Man! When I say hidden gem, I mean hidden gem! Me and my girlfriend were in the mood for some tacos before we headed home after a night of gambling, and Mi Ranchito popped up on yelp. It was kind of out of the way, but the reviews were so positive, we had to give it a shot. 15 minutes later, we were so happy we did. It is nestled in the corner of a few stores that look like they are abandoned, but do not let that deter you. Once we walked in, we were greeted and given a menu to look over. Everything was super reasonable! We ordered 4 tacos, and a quesadilla, and it all came out to 13 bucks! What a deal!! But wait, just because it's affordable doesn't mean it is good.. but that's not the case for this place. Everything was AMAZING! The tacos were great. Good sizes, and the meat was very flavorful. What blew us away was the quesadilla! We ordered a regular one thinking we'd just get cheese and a tortilla, but it came with meat, sour cream, AND guac. It was delicious. Point blank. Hooray for chilaquiles, I finally found you! Or did I? I feel more like I played a game of "Where's Huevos?" at Mi Rachito. I came across an article about the best hole-in-the-wall eatery in every state, and lo and behold, Mi Rachito was on it! Cooler still, it's right by the kids' school, so lucky me! But, they open later than drop-off time, so when I found a little extra time before school was out, I came in for some Hobbit-esque 2nd lunch. The dining room is cute, clean and wasn't busy between lunch and dinner hours. I sat and was attended to promptly, and the chips and salsa were fair, and I only had water to drink as picking up kiddos was next in line. I was excited to finally have a stab at my Mexican breakfast fave, but that quickly faded when I was presented with a plate of soupy chips that here heavy on cheese but missing eggs. I thought breakfast chilaquiles had eggs, am I wrong? I suppose I could have made a fuss, but I didn't have time to dispute it. It was served with a nice tomato/lettuce/guac/sour cream garnish but without the eggs it really seemed more like too wet, soggy nachos. One of the best authentic Mexican places I've ever tried. After we left with our bellies full, my bf told me this was a good find. I told him that I had Yelp to thank for that. I ordered a carne asada tostada with a side of beans and rice. My bf's chicken tacos looked plain but the green sauce gave it a little kick. My tostada was full of flavor and not too salty. Unlike other Mexican places, I was able to finish my entire plate of food without having leftovers. Pay attention to the prices here. What they charge and what the menu says is quite a bit different. My brothers dinner was $2 more and mine was $1.50 more. His Asada was tough and not very good at all. Definitely not worth the menu price and especially not worth what they charged. When I questioned this, the owner came over and said that it is tacky to write over the menu prices I think it is more tacky to charge that much more than what your menu says. It's also tacky to bring chips and salsa that were not even requested and charge for them. Our waiter just said he'd be out with our chips and salsa, not would you like to order some? The food is really not that good and especially not for the prices she is charging. Our waiter gave good service and was nice, but I think they should be more upfront about their prices. Came here a little before noon on a Friday. There are about 6 booths and 6 tables in the place. A few were occupied. By 12:15pm, they were all occupied. It appeared as though they were able to handle the lunch crowd with no problems. We were brought chips and salsa which was very good. the salsa is not a chunky salsa but does have a few chunks of onion, cilantro and tomato in it. We placed our order and it arrived in a timely fashion. Both the Chili Verdi and the Beef Enchiladas were very good. This is a nice smaller Mexican restaurant that is good for lunch. But they are open from 9am to 9pm everyday and have breakfast and dinner entrees as well. Prices are reasonable, the service was good (They even anticipated my need for a to go box without asking.) and the food is tasty. read more

We got there and was a little hesitant about the location and no one being in there. This place is a hole in the wall place. The server was friendly. Their prices is incredible. Their portion sizes on the large size. The food was all so delicious. Authentic Mexican. While eating, people were starting to come in to pick up their to go order. A couple of more table were full. The server checked with us and filled up our waters. This place is highly recommended if you don't want to go to a Mexican Resturant and be charged $12-$14 for a wet burrito.
