The fam suffered from an unyielding hankerin' for tacos and made a bee line for Pinches for the first time: Excellent variety of meat to choose from. The youngest of us ordered the 9 taco platter with assorted meats of asada, carnitas, pastor, and campacheros (asada, chorizo, pastor combo), while I ordered a small handful of campacheros and the missus ordered asada. Drinks included Jarritos Limon, Corona Familiar, and aguafresca. Wonderful service, excellent flavors, fun ambience and we will be back again! Hubby and I had this as a hangover meal this weekend and it was pretty good. It's a bit small in there and they play their music a bit too loud. A few things though: I placed the order online and after ordering it (which was about 15 minutes later) I got to the restaurant and our food still wasn't ready and we had to wait an additional 20-25 minutes until our food was ready, which to me means they never started/got our order. I got the taco combo with asada, pastor and carnitas. The asada and pastor were great but the carnitas was extremely dry. The refried beans I asked for was literally soup. I've never had refried beans look like that or have that type of consistency, it was weird but the flavor was good. Hubby got the carne asada fries and they were pretty good! They used the good fries too not nasty crinkle cut fries. Overall I would give this place another try because the woman who helped me was extremely friendly and even offered for us to take another drink on the house since we had to wait for our food for so long. read more

Camilla in the front was super helpful and nice. This was our first time here so we had questions. Restaurant was clean and much more spacious than expected. Music was on point. Nothing here is overpriced. Best surprise was the Poke Bowl. Wonton bowls are the best vessels! If you've never had one fresh, this is your chance. The Mac salad looked questionable but it's tasty. Couldn't stop talking about this spot after our first visit. We came back and loved it just as much as the first trip. The burrito was sooo good. It's everything you want a burrito to be. Service was great again. It's such a relaxed vibe in there like you were invited in and it doesn't feel like an awkward business. My wife and I tried this place for the first time and were seriously impressed. The gentleman working the counter greeted us when we walked in. He was very kind and courteous, exactly the old fashion customer service that used to exist. My wife ordered the taco combo and I had the Kalua pork combo, the food portions were generous and the taste was wonderful. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked. To be fair, I did not try the Mexican food here. I was excited to try a new Island place. I ordered a Hawaiian chicken dish. It was the equivalent of chicken nuggets out of a frozen bag from Walmart, overcooked dry and tasteless with some sweet and sour Bar b Que drizzled on top. I was extremely disappointed. Out shopping and before heading home we decided on lunch. Pinches is in the east side of Clear Acre in the small shopping center. The menu is big, like bigger than the shopping center! Today we chose carnitas and al pastor tacos. Excellent on both counts. Definitely on a short list for a return visit. Quick service plus good food makes for a nice experience on your lunch break. My taco cravings were intense and I was due for a fix! I left home to seek out a taco spot that I've never been to. I searched a few places and headed towards Oddie. A friend from work raved about a taco joint and I reached out to him, but he didn't get back to me in time. I was enroute towards Clearacre to see what "Pinches Tacos" was all about. Stepped in and I was so hungry that I wanted to try a little of everything. I think I got out of hand ordering. There were a few patrons, but their phone kept ringing and tickets kept printing as I looked over their menu. To-go orders flying out the door. (All good signs for me). Service was phenomenal, the young lady that was at the counter was very busy and still very friendly. I enjoyed my tacos. Their pastor and tripa were my favorites! Asada was a little dry for me, but a little salsa solved that problem. Their tripa is CRISPY and oh so good! They warn that their salsa is "pinche spicy" and their habanero salsa delivers. I'm not embarrassed to admit I may have or not ate most of these tacos. Tacos are my love language. Lol They're extra fuel for my leg day tomorrow. ;) I ordered their melon and tamarindo agua frescas to try and I think I've found my favorite for tamarindo. Melon was good, but sweeter than I like my drinks. They have a smaller dining room for dine in. I enjoyed their art on the walls. It's very colorful and not dull. The tables do need to be a bit of T.L.C. and more frequent wipe downs in between seatings, but we managed. I didn't use their restroom, but knowing they have one is a plus. My taco craving was fulfilled! They have a simple menu and would try their nachos and asada fries! Said I'd update if the next time was as good. Well - it was better as you see from the clean plate. Been in Reno almost 10 years and finally found the perfect tacos. No need to search further. The asada and tortillas are cooked just right and the salsas are amazing. Green and red are so tasty and spicy and the 4 oz is the pinchiest hottest most flavorful I've had. Honest review: I hate giving low reviews, but I was really hoping for a stronger showing than a 2/5. The bathroom was also communicated to be broken when a client asked for a public restroom after ordering food. The feeling of disappointment after you order $40 worth of food for asada fries, tacos, and a quesadilla. Clients are allowed to expect more. Service: 4/5 There were 2 girls working, a cook and a cashier. The service was warm and welcoming, however there was a person who came up and asked about their Hawaiian menu and the girl upfront couldn't answer the question, so it seemed a little confusing to have 2 menu options and not know your menu? As well as recommendations weren't really given when someone else walked in and was confused about both menus and what she'd recommend, but she tried...? As well as a public restroom being broken for your clientele? At least the 2 girls were really nice... Food: 2/5 -Tacos: 3/5 2 of 3 tacos were okay, the Al pastor had good flavor, but all 3 tasted like they used the same oil they fry the Hawaiian food in. These flavors didn't mesh well together, there was a piece of the outer layer of the onion that wasn't edible, and then one taco definitely tasted like it wasn't seasoned correctly? Expected more from this experience. -Asada quesadilla: 1.5/5 Unfortunately, the flavor was lacking that seasoning you expect from carne asada. It tasted very bland, as well as had a lot of greasy flavors from the Hawaiian food they may cook on the same griddle. There were some fresh vegetables in the plate, so points for that! The quesadilla however was missing a lot... no cheese pull, overly greasy, as well as the carne asada lacked flavor unfortunately. -Asada fries 1/5 At least everything was cooked. If you like canned cheese or velvet-a cheese, you may like these.... Like the quesadilla, there was a lot missing... the fries had no salt on them, the vegetables tasted fresh, but was missing a lot of the flavor from the asada which had no flavor from seasoning or spices. I was expecting a cheese pull, but instead was met with pinto beans and sour cream. It felt as if everything was just thrown together and the lack of flavor made it very bland. But it does get a one star for being hot, having some fresh veggies, and being cooked (which is the minimum you can ask for...). I REALLY wanted to come in and report something different for the community than what was reported by other yelpers, however, confirming this information is important to note for others choosing a place to eat, and for dining in or taking out. The ambiance was interesting as it seemed to pick up after I walked in, but people were just as confused about the menu, the bathroom for the one client who probably really needed to go; and the last one who wanted a recommendation that wasn't really given. read more

Came here to get some asada tacos. Told the guy I wanted 5 total. I heard him say 4 in Spanish so I reiterated that I wanted 5, and showed him with my hand to be clear. He nodded and said yes, five. Went home, opened it up and there were only 4. The thing that bothers me is that they're pretty small tacos and it's over priced. I loved the food here! I It's the best combination of Hawaiian and Mexican menus. I got spam musubi and I would rate this a 4/5 because the sauce is amazing but the amount of meat to rice ratio is a little high on the rice. My friend got the bbq combo that comes with ribs, which she rated a 3/5 for the amount of meat on them, and the bbq chicken, which she rated a 4/5 for the delicious sauce. They gave us complimentary margarita slushies that were amazing as well. The music was great and the tables were clean inside. read more
