This is my go to Mexican spot. Their food is always consistent whether at the south Reno or Sparks location and their Margs always hit!! I've been going here for years and probably frequent this place a couple times a year and have never had a bad experience.

The food was not great. Not a lot of authentic options. No agua de jamaica. I got the chilaquiles without rice and it was just cheesy and greasy. The waiters only filled our water once and never checked on us. I hope I don't come back to eat here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got sat in a corner so I didn't get to enjoy the ambiance besides staring at a plant and wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a really sad restaurant to dine at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So we came for lunch here yesterday and it was delicious! I had a shredded beef taco and a chili Relleno à la cart. I thought the chili Relleno had too much breading on it. I want to eat more of the chili pepper and not the breading however, the sauce was delicious and my taco was delicious! My cousin had a shredded beef taco with rice and beans and she really enjoyed it! also! Our service was horrible and our servers name was Juan.....he was not attentive at all! I had to get up several times and ask for more salsa etc. Every time I would get up to look for him, the hostess would help me! He dropped our food off and then we never saw him again until he picked up our money! He could've brought more chips and I also needed a refill on my Pepsi! I would've given five stars had not been for the service! I will come back because of the food and hopefully Juan has been trained to be more attentive to his customers!

A pretty good mexican restaurant with wonderful service, Very consistent food. I ordered the chile relleno, pork tamale and chile colorado. I really liked their chile relleno, they use a different chile than what I'm familiar with, I like that it does not have a lot of seeds that is encountered by other restaurants. The chile colorado is different but quite good, I'm used to a spicier chile colorado sauce. Overall a very consistent food restaurant for mexican food.

11/23 Today came for some lunch . Unfortunately today was an off day. Today the chips a little stale and didn't know this but they charge an extra $3 for their habanero salsa. Seems a bit much. I had the 1/2 order of nachos w/al pastor. It was ok. Some of the chips were burnt and the meat was ok not a lot and seemed to be lacking flavor today. Or server was Helen she was ok seemed kind of rushed and annoyed. We were taking our time to decide and asking questions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always clean and nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just was an off day . Enjoy !!!!

Los Compadres is one of those solid local spots you can always count on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is warm and welcoming--perfect for a casual dinner or happy hour with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food quality is consistently good every visit, which is honestly underrated these days, and the service is always prompt and attentive without being overbearing. Happy hour from 3-6pm is a great bonus with solid specials that make it easy to linger a little longer. If you're looking for a dependable, laid-back place with good food and a great vibe, Los Compadres delivers every time.

Very disappointing! We have been here before and it was ok. Decided to give another try. I wanted something off kids menu as I wasn't that hungry and with chips and all it would have been the right amount, but Helen our waitress would let me order what I really wanted. So I opted for a #9 (taco with rice and beans. Asked what the charge for fish in taco would be and she said 1.50. I said ok. There was a nice amount of fish in taco but she'll want super crispy (half crispy half soggy. ) definitely have had way better fish tacos before from other places. When we got the bill, the up charge was actually three dollars. Normally, that is not a big deal to me, but I think it was like her attitude and lack of friendliness as a waitress. Overall, I definitely like the place we go to down the street better so I think I will stick with our regular Mexican restaurant on Longley Lane.

Came here on a Friday evening and had the best time at a restaurant In a long time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat outside and it was completely gorgeous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was so nice and made our evening spectacular. I enjoyed my carne asada and chili relleno combo plate. The margaritas were spot on. I tried a family members carnitas and that is what I am ordering next time. Really yummy with the fresh tortillas. Highly recommend coming to dine outside during the fall evening.

    Carne Asada Burrito

Rating a 1 because I can't rate it a 0 this place was horrible. The soup was made from the same salsa they give you for the chips, you can tell the shrimp were frozen. The worst part was the burrito wasn't even a burrito it was filled with only the meat and beans. The service was also bad, we had arrived before another family and our waitress decided to take their order shortly after they sat down and they were white. This place definitely favors the many white people that come here. We then waited for a long time to get out order taken. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I believe the ambiance was alright but was not good at all, me and my family were the only people of color.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Honestly the first time i've ever felt inequality & subtle racism.

    Judith G.

This place is always busy pretty much saying people come here again and again for the delicious, authentic Mexican food. The combination plate is a great way to try three different main dishes accompanied by beans and rice. I had the chile relleno, which was a large chile covered with a fluffy egg and cheese batter, prepared perfectly. Also, I had the chicken enchilada which was plentiful, tasty and fresh. The chile Colorado was served in its own bowl alongside the huge main plate. That tells you how much food was included in the combo plate!! The service was professional, proficient and friendly. The drinks were quite impressive with our table having margaritas of different natures, beers and wines. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is family friendly, comfortable and colorful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will become a regular here, for sure!

My favorite spot to get margaritas in Northern NV! From the food, staff, and drinks everything is great at this location. I've come to this spot year after year and I always leave very happy and extremely full. The staff is very welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. They always keep this place very clean and they make sure they have cumbia or some great Mexican music playing to set the vibe. I usually order the chimichanga or in this picture I just got their street tacos with steak. Absolutely delicious. Funny enough this restaurant has some of the best french fries in Reno IMO. They are a must try!!! If you're in near South Reno and want a great place for drinks and dinner this is a must.

First off, huge shoutout to the staff at both locations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a group of about 12 showing up and ordering at different times, plus another large party there, and they handled it all really well. The patio has such a great Midtown vibe, and I'm always happy supporting local small businesses. We ordered a little bit of everything: ribeye gorditas with homemade tortillas, street tacos, quesadillas, loaded papas, elote, and I even attempted the AYCE tacos. The carnitas was some of my favorite in town, the guac was delicious, and my friend loved the skirt steak tacos. Plus, the three salsas they serve are all so good. Tacos are always subjective, but I'd absolutely recommend giving Ana's a try because there's something for everyone on the menu. The cocktails are fun too, and I'll definitely be back.

I was glad that I did finally drop in. Located in a little strip mall on Valley Road, it's an unassuming place from the outside. The inside is small, but comfortable and it felt very "homey". When I walked in, the first thing that hit me was the smell of delicious food wafting through the air. The tastes did not disappoint. We were greeted and sat promptly by a personable young man that brought us water. The owner then brought us our drinks...a margarita for my dining companion and a Mandarin Jarritos for me. My sip of the margarita tasted amazing! Great balance and flavor. We also received a basket of chips and salsa. You could tell that they were made fresh to order. The chips were crispy and hot. The salsa was outstanding...fresh cilantro...balanced combination of flavors with a nice, subtle kick of spiciness at the back end. Not too spicy...just right. I usually have to ask for something hotter...not in this case. The food was amazing! My dining companion ordered the Chile Relleno plate and I got the Molcajete. The prices are outstanding and the amount of food? Huge plates! My Molcajete was sizzling hot and overflowing with chicken, beef, shrimp, nopales and ground beef mixed with veggies. A large plate of refried beans and spanish rice also accompanied this presentation. Fresh, hot, delicious corn tortillas rounded out each of our orders. We were also given a couple of squeeze bottles of sauces...green and red...to add to our meals if we wanted. Freshly made and the bottles were presented in a plastic tub filled with ice to keep them cold. Great addition to the already amazing food! There's also a nice selection of Mexican hot sauces on the table for you to choose from. We both took to-go boxes...so much food! Mine lasted for 2 more meals! I plan to return on a regular basis...this is now one of my favorite local places for great Mexican food. As always, I suggest that you visit to see what YOU think...
