Chili Relleno and Beef Enchilada
Connie H.

We stopped here for lunch. It wasn't quite 11 but they said lunch was available. They immediately serve chips and green salsa. The salsa was good; however, the chips tasted old and had no salt on them. I ordered the shrimp tacos and my husband ordered a platter with chili relleno and beef enchilada. I also requested whole beans instead of refried beans. My shrimp tacos were delicious. And they were not skimpy with the shrimp. The rice was good after I added salt and hot sauce. The beans had absolutely no flavor. I added salt and hot sauce and black pepper and still I could not get them to taste good. My husband enjoyed his chili relleno, it was absolutely huge! The rice and refried beans were mediocre. I'm not sure about the enchilada because he brought it home. While the server was friendly, and the food came out quickly, we were never asked how our food was nor were we offered drink refills. Note: the enchilada had very little filling. All in all, just another run of the mill Mexican restaurant.

Chips & Salsa

Fiesta Mexicana is pretty much your run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The food was okay at best, though I will say the portions were generous, filling the entire plate. That is definitely a plus, but it is also pretty standard for authentic Mexican food. The seating arrangement left a bit to be desired. It felt rickety and was not very comfortable, which did not add much to the dining experience. The staff did the bare minimum, but they were polite, so no real complaints there. Would I eat here again? Probably. Would I go out of my way to do so? Probably not. It is decent for what it is, but nothing that stands out enough to make it a must visit.

Bean and cheese burrito

I was a bit skeptical about trying Mexican food outside of California. That's because It's not often you come across some awesome places. But I give this place a TON of credit. It was bomb! I tried their bean and cheese burrito. My gosh! It was two servings! The burrito was yummy! They definitely didn't skimp on the beans and cheese. They also have my favorite jamaica tea. :D Would I go back there? I would!

Margarita on the rocks

This is a great place! All the food is seasoned right. Pretty busy on a Friday night so we sat at the bar. A waitress helped us get three seats together. We ordered some margaritas and then ordered a shrimp soup, the fajitas with shrimp, beef and chicken, and the trio fajitas. The flavors are all great. The veggies taste like they are char grilled first, then added to the fajita plate. The salad was carefully prepared so that nothing was wilted. The shrimp soup was great - the one shrimp with the head on was a little overcooked but the dozen plus other shrimp were perfect! Overall, this place is a winner and worth a drive to. They have a frozen drink machine that grinds ice and places it into a blender that has the drink ingredients. Pretty cool!

Shred beef hard tacos

Last night, the hubby and I ate at fiesta mexicana. The service was good, and the food came out very fast, within 5 min of ordering. The shredded beef was quite flavorful. The salsa they brought with the chips was very delicious, not too spicy. The ice tea I got tasted a little funky, not sure what brand they used or how they made it, but it had that weird stale old ice taste to it. Thankfully, we had enough cash to pay with cash as they charge a 3.5% transaction fee if you pay by credit or debit cards. The restroom was clean and well stocked with toilet paper and paper towels.

I haven't eaten here since the pandemic and I'm very sad I waited this long. The wait on a Monday was very short, when you're seated you get salsa and chips, and there isn't much of a wait to order. Food is fresh when it comes out and the flavors are authentic and delicious! Fiesta mexicana is good for families, solo meals and large groups. Equipped with a full bar with a margarita menu and a large selection of various authentic Mexican dishes, it's bound to be a good time! I'm excited to try more of their dishes when I come back because I definitely will be.

Bomb seafood plates are always great! Our go to's are the Coctel de Camaro y pulpo, caldo de rez, and quesabirria. ‍

Always terrific. My favorite Mexican in town. It's the only place that I can get some roasted jalapeños.

They refuse to serve tap water and only allow you to purchase water bottles (cheap, generic kind), which is ridiculous. They give you salsa, but you have to pay for chips. The restaurant itself was very noisy from fans/music/staff and it was hard to talk at our table. $70 (before tip) for 2 orders of tacos, 1 non-alcoholic beverage, and chips/guac is absurd. We won't be back.

First off, huge shoutout to the staff at both locations. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a group of about 12 showing up and ordering at different times, plus another large party there, and they handled it all really well. The patio has such a great Midtown vibe, and I'm always happy supporting local small businesses. We ordered a little bit of everything: ribeye gorditas with homemade tortillas, street tacos, quesadillas, loaded papas, elote, and I even attempted the AYCE tacos. The carnitas was some of my favorite in town, the guac was delicious, and my friend loved the skirt steak tacos. Plus, the three salsas they serve are all so good. Tacos are always subjective, but I'd absolutely recommend giving Ana's a try because there's something for everyone on the menu. The cocktails are fun too, and I'll definitely be back.

Upon walking in,I was impressed with the patrons, this was a no frills crowd who looked like they were all in on a secret that this place was going to be a really good foodie spot. This is one of those spots where u walk up and order at the counter and they bring your food out to you.I loved the decor as you can really tell the owners are proud of their Jalisco roots. As an added bonus-I do tend to like taquerias that have pics of the menu items on the walls-always been a good luck charm for me that the place would be pretty good. We ordered a few things-A Super Burrito with Al Pastor($13.50)-it was pretty tasty-way way filling-killed my buzz totally-which I guess was the goal-I'd order it again for sure.We Also got a Shrimp taco($5)My wife is from Jalisco,so kinda picky with her Mexican food but she thought it was pretty tasty-one of the most flavorful tacos she has had in a long time.We also got the 2 enchilada plate with ground beef and chicken($15.50)-This dish came with rice and bean-I really liked the rice quite a bit and beans went well with the chips because of the added cheese on the beans. One thing I didn't love was the fact that you had to pay for chips and salsa-I'm sure I'm just spoiled from all the places that gives those out for free but I guess that's the way it goes-pretty sure it was like $3-no biggie. In closing-if u ever find yourself in Reno and u want something other than the commercial stuff they sell in the casinos-I would highly recommend walking across the street from Silver Legacy and walk into this little hole in the wall hidden gem of a restaurant and enjoy yourself a taste of Jalisco -you won't be disappointed.
