I was having my car wash when I asked one of the employees if there was a place nearby to have lunch. He recommended the Nevada Taco Grill less than 2 blocks away. I know where the place is but have never been there. Truthfully, I was reluctant to go there because it seems like every time I drive by there the place is empty. What the heck, I am hungry and it is convenient. I was the only customer in the place! I order a street taco combo plate which consisted of 2 "carnitas" tacos and one of "el pastor". I poured 2 small "salsa" containers, one green and one red. My plate also contained refried beans and rice. Wow, I was in for a treat. Some of the best chubby, little tortillas, over-stuffed tacos with well prepared meats, onions and cilantro. Outrageously delicious! I was amazed that the beans and rice were also very flavorful. The green "salsa" was a big hit with me - flavorful and spicy. If the other menu items are a as good, I have missed out on a great spot. Definitely going back to try other menu items.. read more

Came here for dinner in the evening. I liked the menus on the walls were easy to read! Good advertising with the pictures of the dishes in the windows, worked! It pulled me in from walking down the road. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. Can't say much more than that, it sums it up. The dining area was clean, well maintained and colorful. All around enjoyable experience. The cute girl with the piercings was polite and quick. I'm surprised it took me so long to come here before, definitely will be back. read more

Visiting Reno Christmas weekend got on yelp this place looked good pulled up to the spot look very sketchy. It's an actual gas station restaurant. decided to give it a try Still. went through the drive-through order two chimichangas one chicken one Asada and 2 asada Tacos. flavor was on point not dry at all. It's also spicy but the chimichangas were half fried very soggy tortillas and the tacos weren't good at all. Haven't really found a good Mexican spot in Reno but still need to get this place three stars. read more

I had 3 tacos and a horchata and it came out to $20 bucks. Food was tasty and the salsa is good. The major downside after I ate was how nasty the bathroom smelled. I walked in and it was like a wave of mold smell. I have never experienced anything quite like it. The walls must be filled with mold or at least all under the baseboards. read more

What a nice find. Good size parking lot. Plenty of seating inside with booths and tables. They had a salsa bar too. Lots of options for food and drink. The staff was very friendly taking our order at the front counter. Then they bring your food out to you. The food came out quickly and hot. We enjoyed our food. I didn't give it 5 stars (yet) because there's still more to try on their menu. So I will look forward to my next visit to try another menu item. My wife and I were out late and getting hungry so I pulled up Yelp and searched for tacos. This place was the top suggestion. Clicked on it and the menu looked appetizing and it did not disappoint. The tacos were absolutely delicious and flavorful with incredibly fresh ingredients. The service was top-notch too friendly and attentive staff. If you're in the mood for tasty tacos or delicious Mexican food in general, look no further and come here. Overall a pretty clean restaurant. Plus the location is perfect. Easy to find. This Mexican establishment has expanded like crazy and now I know why. They give a lot on the plate. I shared the steak plate and a burrito and both were substantial. Nothing too hot, too garlicky or salty. Don't mistake that for no flavor, as there is no mistaking it's a Mexican steak and their rice is soft and moist. Walk in, order at the cashier and they will bring your plate to you. Their salsa bar is pre-packed and even has sliced cucumbers. I like how everything was wrapped up and put in containers. I really wanted to like Nevada Taco Grill. Close to me, relatively cheap, and open late. My service was good to great. Ordering was easy and simple and the waitress was patient while I decided. Food came out in just a few minutes, I opted for takeout. I went with 3 carne asada street tacos and a carne asada burrito. While the ingredients seemed fresh, the asada was overcooked and under seasoned. The salsa bar and condiments are a great touch but didn't compensate for the lack of flavor between the burritos and the tacos. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back to Nevada Taco Grill as there are plenty of other very quality Mexican restaurants nearby and/or for a better price with better food. read more

Clearly this is rather new, for I had not seen it before on my last trip..right across the street from the Peppermill Casino, I implore you eat here rather than the pricy Mexican place in the Peppermill. What the heck. The 3 rolled tacos were pretty bland. Even the guacamole. The horchata barely had any taste to it. There was another review that said it was watered down and it definitely was. We originally tried going to Ruby River (next door) which is how we ended up in the parking lot. After a not so great experience, we left before even ordering and because we were starving ended up here; a small, little restaurant that dosent look like much but the food was pretty good. We were greeted with a smile at the ordering counter. Shared a nice refreshing horchata and then our meals were brought to our table. The food was fresh and had good flavor. The serving size large with enough to need a to go box. The place is quiet with a TV on in the background, nice for conversating. And ample parking in its parking lot. After eating here we learned that there is another location in Sparks. We'll definitely visit this or the other location to try other menu options. read more

Ate there a couple times. I ordered the beef tacos and 3 chicken rolled tacos with cheese. My kid had the rice and beans. My kid loved the rice. He was eating a lot of it. The beef tacos were made of shredded beef and the tortillas looked like the were deep fried or something. Good flavor and the price wasn't bad. The chicken rolled tacos were good however, the chicken seemed like it was a little dry. Not bad though. I definitely want to try other entrees. There were no lines and the people behind the counter were very nice. I can't remember what business was in that building before but, they can definitely use a remodel. Pretty disappointing first try for this place. Only one other person in here at 7pm with 15+ tables should have been a sign. Ordered the adobada burrito that comes with guacamole and pico. No guacamole, the pico was flavorless and the adobada had less flavor than the pico stuffed lightly inside a tortilla left on the grill too long. Also ordered a horchata and it was - at best - very watery - tasted as though it had been VERY watered-down to stretch the batch out as far as possible. Here's a weird one. I don't want to give it 5 stars but I can't think of a good reason why. This place is like some 90's taco joint frozen in time. The lime green walls, dark wood counter, menu, tables... it all feels retro! The person taking my order was nice. Not extremely friendly but nice. Food! Let's talk about why we're here. Any time I walk into a place like this my first thought is typically: "Is it going to be authentic? " The funny thing is, I don't really think it is authentic for the places in Mexico that I know. I got the #1 which is three chicken taquitos with rice and beans. when it came to the table, it looked like 'fast food joint' style food. The cheese mix on the top was put on the cold guac, so it didn't really start to melt. And yet the whole thing was presented in a perfectly plated fashion (styrofoam plate that is) with the almost too perfect rice really standing out. As I started eating it, I was very surprised that it was actually really really good. The combination of flavors was right on. I do tend to like my Mexican food, a little spicier, but I have to say I really enjoyed this meal. I mentioned the almost too perfect rice. It was light and fluffy and had an absolutely amazing flavor. Top that off with some authentic Mexican sodas and you have a really good, very reasonable, and highly enjoyable meal. read more

Came down to Nevada Taco Grill on a lazy Sunday afternoon when cooking for ourselves felt like too much of a task, and my husband wanted some nachos. The food was pretty good. They were heavy with the nacho toppings and the burrito has lots of stuff in it. And it tasted good. Service was quick and we had ordered and were out the door with our food in 10ish minutes. I do think it was a bit overpriced though. Nachos and a burrito were $30. I know inflation has things costing a bit more these days, but this seemed excessive. read more
